Hello everyone! I'm back! Hopefully, hehe. Anyways the reason I was on hiatus, was because I suddenly got a job offer that I needed to migrate. Since my last update, I had to prepare my papers, and stuff. I had to adjust to a new country, my work place, new colleagues, missing my family and friends, so it was really a big adjustment for me. So I think I'm a bit settled now, and when I heard about the news about the new upcoming anime of the 100yrs quest, I remembered my account here.

Sorry it's a bit short, but I had to reread everything and honestly I just forgot what was suppose to happen.

I just made it into a bit of side story.

Anyways, enough of me rambling. Enjoy the chapter!

Disclaimer: I do not own Fairy Tail.

Chapter 6: The assistant

I have been working as an assistant for 7 yrs. I have seen things that shouldn't be described. That was stated in the contract I signed.

A life and death contract.

What I see. What I heard.

Nothing.

My boss was the person who crossed the lines multiple times. An underground organization with legitimate power and control. The boss had no comparison.

A resolute leader and tyrant.

Suddenly ending the meeting, I had no idea where he went. His phone was disconnected, my only chance of reaching him was if he went home. And here I am sitting crossed legged beside his front door.

Ding!

I got up and readied to greet him, when the elevator doors opened, I was rooted on the spot.

He was standing inside with a woman with long blonde hair covered with his coat on his arms. His clothes were unkept, some buttons were undone and the tattoo on his left shoulder can be seen through his white buttoned-down long sleeves. His face was calm but a shiver ran down my spine when I saw his eyes.

I just stood there until he reached his door.

"Wait inside"

A voice so cold and unfeeling, I could only respond with a nod.

We stepped inside and he proceeded to his bedroom and closed the door.

I could finally release the breath I was holding and closed my eyes.

I didn't see anything.

Placing her in the bed, Natsu gave a sigh. He brought her with him on impulse. He can't keep himself calm. There was anger building up inside of him that he doesn't know where to direct it. Was he angry with himself? With what has happened? His irrationality and ruthlessness as he furiously pounded on her a while go? His ignorance of her cries and pleas?

He was scared that he might snap when Lucy wakes up tomorrow and runs away from him. He couldn't bear her rejection towards him. He clenched his fists so hard that his knuckles turned white. Looking at her sleeping on his bed, he gave a sigh and went out.

"Let's go"

With a nod, his assistant followed him without question.

"Well, you were right when you said the boss would work from home today."

"I didn't think this would be the reason"

They bought glanced at each other when they saw workers coming in and out of Natsu's office and busy on the entire level.

Their working place was thrashed beyond recognition. The tiled floor was destroyed. The tables and chairs were overturned and broken. Papers everywhere. The frosted glass walls were broken and smashed. You can also see traces of blood among the broken pieces. The area became a horrific scene.

It was then later announced that work would resume in the afternoon as soon as the 'renovations' were concluded.

Seeing that there were no other announcements or news on what happened, they can only conclude in their hearts one thing.

The Demon Lord was furious beyond belief that he thrashed his own company.

"What happened?" Gray questioned on the phone

"When we left his apartment, he didn't tell me where he would like to go."

"How did you end up in his office then?" Gray tapped on the steering wheel impatiently.

"After an hour of driving around in circles, I thought that maybe he'd like to go inside his office and work. Since he always works when something is bothering him. I didn't think that when we reached the floor, he picked up a chair and threw it towards his office. He then proceeded to destroy everything."

"Where is he?" Gray rubbed his forehead as a knot was forming giving him a headache.

"He's back at his apartment."

"Did anything happen before he went berserk?"

"When he arrived at his apartment last night, he was carrying a blond woman in his arms. I didn't pry."

"….."

"I'll head over there right now, thanks" Gray hanged up the phone

He's been on a brighter mood lately. Why the sudden burst of rage? Due to the cancellation of the wedding?

Gray's brows furrowed as he analyzed Natsu's behavior as of late.

Sudden disappearance

Relaxed mood

Cancelled wedding

Abrupt outburst of fury

Blond woman inside his apartment

What is aggravating his temper? He shouldn't be –

Gray stepped on the breaks when he came into sudden realization. He gripped on the steering wheel as his body lunged forward at the sudden stop.

There was only one person that could influence Natsu. The only woman who occupied both then and now. Driven like a mad man whenever something related to her was involved. She was the woman that could pierce through that stubborn and mad person.

Leaning back on his seat, he pinched the bridge of his nose. He was conflicted.

He wasn't sure if this was a good thing or a bad thing. His thoughts were at odds, and it continued to run through his mind, but that didn't matter. He needed to see that hotheaded person right now before he has another outburst. Heaving a sigh, he composed himself and started to drive.

If he was right, then he would see that person there inside his apartment.

The only person that Natsu would move mountains and cross oceans for.

The lady that could just possibly turn everything upside down.

Lucy Heartfilia.

As I hung up the phone. I was stuck between a rock and a hard place.

It's exhilarating.

I was just really on standby. I was standing on the side of the living room. I didn't tell my boss about the phone call with Gray.

Gray Fullbuster

Natsu's friend since I don't when. During his childhood? Frankly I don't care. The thing I do care about is the way he treats Natsu. He is full of bull but his care for the boss is genuine. The only time he will tell
Gray about Natsu is when he asked, but he never fully diverge all the details. After all he was the assistant.

Doing office work is great and all but what brightens my day is when something thrilling happens.

Gun fights

Fist Fights

Kill-

Ahem.

I was caught up in my fantasies that I forgot to compose myself. I anxiously waited for Gray to arrive.

Would there be a fight?

Can I join in the fight?

Time seemed to go ever so slowly. Looking at the main entrance and then I looked at the closed bedroom where Natsue went in.

I took a seat and kept myself calm but no matter how professional I am, I was curious about the woman that I couldn't help but stare at the closed bedroom.

As a legal employee, being involved in a brewing storm is not in my line of work.

But

As a friend and confidant, threading on thin ice inside the storm is my job preference.

As much I want to be in the eye of the storm.

I want to create it.

After all I am the assistant.

Thank you for reading!

How was the chapter? Do you have an idea who might the assistant be?
