Yeray, I'm back. OK, this is the situation. I was on vacation with my dad, and he asked. "Hay, do you want a longer vacation?"
... I said yes. And that's why I'm late.
Two children were out playing in their yard. They were obviously related to each other. The two were fighting with wooden swords under their grandmother's favorite cherry tree.
"AH! Take this!". One of the two boys jumped into the air and swung his sword down at the other boy, who reacted by taking a step to the side. The boy missed completely and fell flat on the ground.
"Come on Yano. You know that you should not show so clearly what you're going to do. I could see it coming from a mile away."
"Oh, big bro. But if I jump, it's much cooler AND I hit stronger," the boy replied.
"It doesn't matter how much force an attack has behind it if your opponent can easily dodge it."
"But Yashin," Yano said like a child who didn't get what he wanted.
"Don't complain. You have to learn it, or Father will get angry."
"Ok brother, but I'm good with a bow anyway," Yano said with a childish smile.
"Ho ho ho, what's this? Do you sword fight without me? Not anymore!"
The two brothers looked in horror in the direction of the voice. There was a girl. A little younger than the boys with a stick in her hand that she had just picked up from the ground.
"NO, WAIT!"
"Touka-chan, you know you're not allowed to sword fight. Father's going to be angry," the boys shouted, with fear of what will happen.
"Ha ha ha, here I come!", Touka-chan said boyishly and started running towards Yashin and Yano, stick in hand.
"Ah, Mother!
"Ahhhh, Buddha save me!"
"What about me? You traitor!"
"What have I said about playing with swords Touka-chan? You're a woman. You can't play with swords. "
The three children now sat in front of a man who looked like an older Yashin or Yano. Behind the man was a woman who sat silently staring disappointed at her only daughter. Touka sat on the floor in front of her father while Yashin and Yano sat behind her. They were beaten blue and purple, and their wooden swords had been broken in half.
"How many times do I need to say this to you? You're a woman. You should learn how to cook and take care of your future children, NOT play with swords!", the man said, breaking the stick that Touka had used as a sword into two pieces.
Touka didn't say anything, she just sat there. She knew if she objected now, her punishment would be worse.
"Go to your room! No food today. And the two of you." The man said, looking towards Yashin and Yano. "You two obviously need more training. If your little sister can beat you up so easily, you haven't trained with your swords enough as you should. Go and work out until the sun goes down, if I see you standing still for a second you won't get any food too, Understood!"
"Yes, Father," the three children said as they began to make their way.
Father was old-fashioned. He was the son of a low-ranking samurai. And he behaved like his father, training his sons to become samurai and the daughter to be a wife to marry off. Even if it means ignoring the daughter's talent with the sword. I thought I'd either live a boring life as a wife to someone I don't get a choice in or run away to become a ronin and hide my sex. But it was then he came.
Father, Yashin and Yano were away at the time on something that I didn't get to know, so that night it was just me and Mom.
"Err". I stood up, tiredness pressing down on my eyes. I got up to grab something to drink, but as I pushed the shoji to the side, I saw my mother being hugged by an unfamiliar man. At first, I thought my mother had been unfaithful until I saw the blood around his mouth.
Anger came over me and I saw the sword at the end of the room. I had been told that if I touched it, Father would cut off my fingers. And considering what the sword was, I believed him. But with anger in my heart, I ran towards the sword and pulled it out of the case. It felt right, the blade was the most beautiful thing I had ever seen, but I couldn't admire it for long.
Something came out of the man's back and quickly came towards me. I didn't have time to think, I just swung my sword and what came out of his back was cut. The man was surprised when I cut off the back thing and I used the opportunity to run towards him and I swing the sword against his face, all my anger and talent in an attack.
And he caught the sword with his bare hand.
" Impressive. Although you're so young, and even if that katana can't kill me. You still manage to cut my flesh... I came here for food, but I think I've found something more valuable." After he said those words, I felt something hit me in the chest and went into my skin.
After that, when I woke up after eating my mother's corpse, Lord Muzan told me what I was now and the chance to become a Moon. I accepted, but I immediately afterwards I asked him for a favor. And he promised to deliver.
Yashin and Yano sat on the floor over Father's Corpse. His head on the floor in front of me, a short distance from his body being eaten. I turned to Father Samurai Armor, I had never seen him wearing it, or move it from where it stood. I started to put it on, I could feel Lord Muzan's gaze. And then he started talking.
"So, will your brothers be useful? You took up my time with your request, the only reason I decided to do so was because you are strong."
"Yes, my Lord. They are strong. It was only my father who was unable to see their strengths."
"What a stupid pig! If he couldn't see your talent with a sword that could even reach my flesh. Be proud Touka, because you are one of the few who have been able to cut me. I expect perfection, and nothing else."
"Yes, my Lord, but I must beg you not to call me Touka." I put on the helmet from the armor that was too big for me, but it would soon fill out. I lowered the tone of my voice and made it more masculine. "Because I'm no longer the girl known as Touka Mukago. From this day onwards, I am The Demon Samurai Tsurugi Mukago."
Izou POV
Izou and Rengoku watched The Lower Moon. A silence had been created between them. Yano watched in horror, waiting to see how the Assassin and Hashira would react, and so did Mukago but with a much better poker face.
"Uh, As I thought. Well, let's get on with the fight now."
"Heh"
"What!"
The two Demons looked at the Assassin in surprise as he prepared for his next attack. "Wait, wait, wait! Is that all?" asked The Lower Moon. "You just unveiled my best kept secret! Won't you say anything of the fact that I'm a woman! No insults or tell me about how easy it will be to defeat me? Or if a woman should be on the battlefield from the start!"
Izou was surprised by the outburst. "Um... No, I've met enough female warriors to know how strong they are. Plus, I've already seen how strong you are" said Izou, who was beginning to realize how deep the Dead Apostle's problems were.
"Eh?" she said. Still unsure if she should take his word for it.
"Um, may I break into this conversation. If it is the gender you're worried about then it does not have anything to do with Demon Slaying. I have personally fought against many strong female demons and the Demon Slayer. Two of the Hashira are female, and I can't say it's nothing short of a strong one."
The two demons looked at the two people in surprise. Surprised that their reaction was the opposite of what they expected. But the silence was broken when a laugh echoed through the night. All were trying to identify the origin of the laughter. But no one was more surprised by the origin than Mukago who realized that the mad laughter came from her own mouth.
"HAHAHAHAHAH! I can't believe it. Here and now, right after Yashin died too!" She stopped at the blood vessels now visible on her face, but she just gushed to smile. "Ha, Demon Slayer! Tell me your names!" she shouted in a commanding tone. Normally, Izou wouldn't respond if someone commanded him this way, but he knew what's going on and felt the bloodlust in the air.
"I'm Rengoku Kyojuro. The Flame Hashira!". Izou stared irritably at Rengoku who had interrupted his sentence when he opened his mouth.
"I'm Okada Izou. I'm not with him or that Demon Slayer crap."
Before Rengoku could dissuade Izou from calling the Demon Slayer Corps crap. The Lower Moon started talking. "Okada, Rengoku, I will engrave your names and faces in my memory, but you have killed my apprentice and brother. So in the name of my Lord, I will defeat you!"
"EH! You're their big sister?" said Izou in surprise. She and the two brothers didn't look alike.
"Big s... Yes. I'm their big sister," Mukago said, ignoring Yano's accusing look. But now." The blood-red sword began to tremble, and the wind blew around them."
That's when Izou felt something he hasn't felt in this life - Mystery. Izou looked at the sword in Demon's hand and realized what it was. If he was EMIYA, or knew more of swords history, he would have noticed at once. But even if he wasn't, he could still recognize the style of a Muramasa. It's not a Noble Phantasm, or one of his masterpieces, but a Muramasa is a Muramasa and should be respected. Especially when the sword was bloodthirsty than the demon holding them.
With a speed that Izou could barely react in time to, the Demon accelerated towards him. The Muramasa cut off a few hairs from Izou's head before slowing down a bit behind Izou. The Demon began to turn around with the horse and Izou realized a weakness.
"Hey, Demon Slayer! She can't turn at that speed. She can only ride in a straight line!"
"I see." Hashira replied. "In that case, we mustn't let her have the chance." Rengoku ran surprisingly fast towards Mukago. "Fifth Form: Flame Tiger"
A cloak of fire in the shape of a tiger covered Rengoku. Before the demon horse could accelerate, he swung his blade at Mukago. The Demon blocked the attack with The Muramasa.
Izou whistled at the attack. "It had power in itself, in its movement. I think it's about time I tried one of the Demon Slayer Techniques." Izou started running towards the demon and Hashira who were fighting. He had to stop the horse from reaching the unnatural speed again. But before Izou saw a weak spot to attack from, his Mind's Eye (Fake) warned of the coming attack.
Mukago withdrew her sword for an attack and her bloodlust increased tenfold. Izou roared, "Dodge!". And Rengoku did – just in time. Like many other sword users Izou has seen, The Lower Moon had a Beam Attack.
Both Heaven and Earth retreated from the attack which was made of a red light and tinted wind. The attack continued past the Hashira and into the village, splitting all the houses in its path. A small ravine had been created in the middle of the village, dividing it in two.
Izou and Rengoku stood on opposite sides of the Demon. Their eyes shifted between Mukago and the ravine, unsure of their next move. They ignored the screaming from the village but were prepared for another attack when the horse began to twitch. The demon horse dissolved into black and red mist that became absorbed by The Lower Moon. When the mist cleared, she stood there without a horse and with her helmet on again. "I'm sorry Hayate, but I don't have enough blood for both you and me anymore."
Izou heard the words that the Demon whispered and began to gain a better understanding of his opponent.
"Uh, was the horse your Blood Demon Art all along?", asked a surprised Rengoku.
That too. Izou thought to herself. Controlling the horse and executing that attack must have taken a huge amount of mana. And it looks like she's starting to run out of it. This means that if the fight goes on long enough, we will win. But it also means that she will try much harder to defeat us as well. That leaves us with only one good choice.
Izous changed his sword technique to the one he just saw. "To take her out at once". Izou took a deep breath and a new, unfamiliar energy spread through his body. A warm feeling was created in his chest. With a speed and power that he had not had in this life, he flew towards the demon.
"Fifth Form: Flame Tiger"
Our swords met, but to my disappointment, the Muramasa cut my sword to pieces. But fortunately, she wasn't prepared for that and what was left of the sword continued into her armor and her shoulder. When Izou landed on the ground on the other side of the demon, his destroyed sword wasn't what he was worried about, it was the blood he was coughing up.
Oh shit! Did my lungs just collapse?
