*No One's POV*

It was a quite day at Horseland. It had been a week since Syrus and his older brother first came to Horseland. His parents were able to find a new duelist school for him. The new school year will be starting next month so Syrus has been studying every chance he got, his older brother and cousin has been helping him.

Everyone was watching Syrus and Loba practicing so they won't be behind the others. Syrus was mentally testing himself about different types of Duel Monster cards and what they do, in case there was a teacher like Crowler who surprise students by asking them a surprise question during class.

"Is it just me or does Syrus seem a bit distracted?" Sarah asked the other. "He starts at his new duelist school next month and he's been studying really hard. He said that he'll be a new him this year." Alma explained to them.

"It's understandable. Syrus will be going to a new school and he won't know anyone there. He's probably mentally studying right now." Bailey said. Will started to look concern. "But mentally studying while riding in anyway can be dangerous if you're not careful." He said.

"Syrus told me that one of his old teachers at Duel Academy used to surprise his students by asking them a surprise question during class. He's probably worried that one of the teachers at his new school will be like that." Alma said.

After hearing that, the others understood why Syrus was studying as hard as he could anyway he could.

'Ok. Necrovalley is a field spell card. When activated, all Gravekeeper monster gain 500 ATK/DEF. Cards in the GY can't be banished. It negates any card effect that would move a card in the GY to a different place. Negates any card effect that changes Types of Attributes in the GY.' Syrus thought. Glad that duels that involved the fate of the World, he was able to remember the cards used in them and what they did.

He was so focus on mentally testing himself that he didn't noticed they were coming to a jump and that changed his form.

But the others did.

"On no. Sy, stop!" Alma shouted, hoping to gain her cousin's attention.

But was too late, Syrus and Loba were already doing the jump. When they did Syrus lost his hold of the reins and fell off the saddle. "AH!" He screamed when he fell and landed on the ground.

"Syrus!" Alma screamed as she jumped over the fence and ran towards the sky-blue haired rider. Loba was already by her rider's side. 'Oh Syrus. I shouldn't have done the jump when I felt you change your riding position.' Loba thought with worry and guilt.

"Syrus, are you alright?" Alma asked him as he sat up.

He nodded his. "Haven't been doing much riding the last two years because I couldn't exactly being Loba to Duel Academy. And with everything that happened there, I guess I forgot some do and don't riding rules." Syrus explained to them as he rubbed his back.

Alma and Bailey then helped him to his feet. The white Lipizzaner mare nuzzled her rider once he was standing. "It's ok girl. I'm fine." He said, petting the white house's snout.

The rest of the riders decided to have lunch. Syrus put Loba back in her stall before joining the others as they got the horses their lunch.

As they ate, Loba looked a little down. Which Aztec noticed. "Loba, what's up? You look a little down." He asked her. Just then Angora came in. "What's up is that Syrus was so focus on mentally testing himself that he fell off Loba when they did a jump, which caused him to fall off. And Loba blames herself." The gray cat explained to them.

"I shouldn't have done the jump when I felt Syrus' riding position changed. Instead I should have stopped." She said.

"Loba, you know you can't always protect Syrus. He can never grow and learn to protect himself if you did that." Senshi said to her. "Senshi is right Loba. You have been protective of Syrus ever since the day you met. And I think it's got to the point that you're over-protective of him." Buttons agreed with the black Friesian.

"Why are you so protective of Syrus anyway?" Chili asked her.

"I was a birthday present for Syrus from his grandfather. While everyone was getting a surprise party ready for him, Zane was supposed to distract him by going on a nature hike long enough for everything to be ready. But they got separated and when Zane came back while Syrus didn't, they went to go look for him. Even if I hadn't met him yet, I broke out of my stall and went to look for him myself. When I found him, a wolf was about to attack him. But I was able to get in the way and kick that wolf away, but not before it bit me. My scar is a symbol, to help both me and Syrus remember the day we met." Loba explained to them.

All the animals that heard the story for the first time were amazed that the made was able to chase away a wolf when she was still a foal. But Chili was the most amazed of the group. 'Beauty and brawn? Wow, I never met a mare like Loba.' He thought.

They all continued to have their lunch, with Shep, Angora, and Teeny going to the kids.

When the three animals got there, they saw that Syrus was telling them his side of the story of how Loba got her scar. "I can't believe Loba was able to fight off a wolf when she was just a foal." Sarah said in amazement.

"Actually I named her Loba because it's the Spanish word for she-wolf." He explained. "Loba actually been protective of me ever since."

The group continued to have lunch, with Syrus thinking about what his new school will be like. 'I really hope none of the teachers at my new school are like Crowler. I also hope I don't have to deal with anything like the Shadow Riders as well. I miss normal school problems.' He thought.

Once they finished eating lunch they did chores and some more riding practice until it was time for them to go home.

"See you tomorrow girl." Syrus said to Loba when he finished placing a blanket on Loba.

When he did he went outside to wait for his mom to pick him up.

When she came Syrus got in the car and the drive home began. As they rode home, Syrus was once again mentally studying.

Callista noticed the look on Syrus' face. "Everything alright pequeno lobo?" She asked him. The sky-blue haired teen looked over at his mom. "I'm fine. Just mentally studying." He explained to her. That placed a smile on her face. 'Just like his brother. Studying every chance he got anyway he could.' She thought.

"Syrus, just like Zane, you need to learn to balance studying and play. I know that your previous school was...tough. But that doesn't mean your new school will be like that. I mean, they don't have uniforms there like Duel Academy." She said to her second born son. This caused a smile to appear on Syrus' face. "Yeah, you're right mom." He said.

Okay, first off, "pequeno lobo" means little wolf in Spanish. It's also what Callista tends to call Syrus.

Also, I like to say that between each chapter version of a Horseland episode will be a chapter about Syrus' day at his new Duel Monsters school.
