Darrin and Endora are like oil and water. Both different in opinion and lifestyle. Hardly mother-in-law and son-in-law material. But when a mortal marries a witch and each inherit the others family, it makes for an interesting dynamic. While often at odds, is it possible that both Darrin and Endora care more than they let on?

Chapter 2 03/24/24

Twelve hours later...

Samanth was lying in bed reading a book. It floated in front of her, and the pages moved slowly as she read. Popping into the room unannounced appeared Uncle Arthur.

"Sammy, I'm glad you're still up!" Uncle Arthur had about him a look that was almost unfamiliar to Samantha and caused her sit up straighter in the bed. Lowering the book, she cocked an eyebrow at her uncle and sighed before speaking. It was evident that she was not expecting his company.

"Uncle Arthur, it really is late. Can your latest joke or story wait until the sun comes up?"

Her uncle moved towards the bottom edge of the bed and sat down. "Samantha, I'm not here on a social call. Do you recall the flight number that Darren was on?" Samantha gazed at her uncle's serious expression and reached for a note pad on her night-stand table. Picking it up, she read the words written on them and replied, "Flight 774 to Chicago."

Samantha looked at her uncle asked "Why would you ask that? Has something happened?"

"I was afraid of that..." Arthur sighed and looked at his niece almost helplessly.

"Uncle Arthur! Please tell me what is going on. Has something happened? Darren was supposed to call when he landed earlier this evening and never did. I started to worry but realize that mortal travel is often delayed."

Not saying a word, Arthur used his witchcraft to manifest a television in the bedroom. Upon its arrival, it turned on and displayed a news report from earlier in the evening. Using a small circular motion, the volume increased so it could be heard in the bedroom by both of them.

Breaking News: At 3:35pm Central Time, US Airline Flight 774 deviated from its flight path to Chicago and was last recorded heading on a projected course across the Atlantic Ocean. Repeated attempts to contact the craft were met initially with silence. Then one hour later, the pilot contacted air traffic controllers with the following message "Flight 747 is currently under the control of an entity known as The Brotherhood of The Flame. If we obey all their commands and co-operate, we are told that we will not be harmed.

Samantha sat for several moments stunned. She then stood and quickly invoked a spell to bring Darrin to their bedroom. The spell failed. She quickly and with growing urgency cast it again and again. She then looked towards the ceiling and cried out "Mother!"
