Chapter 4 - A Mystery Stalker

We cut to a very tired and annoyed Hiro as he throws his hands in the air out of frustration.

"Why can't I get this thing to work like I want," Hiro blows out a breath of irritation. "This big hunk of junk."

This rambling of irritation continues for 2 minutes straight until finally, "You big hunk of junk," Hiro calls out before kicking his workstation out of frustration. "Ow, Ow, Ow, probably wasn't my best idea."

"Hello, I am Baymax, your personal healthcare companion," Baymax states as he begins to inflate, "I was alerted...

"I'm fine Baymax don't worry," Hiro cuts in, "Although my pride and toe are a little bruised."

"After a quick scan, I have located the source of discomfort," Baymax states, "I would recommend staying off your feet and applying an ice pack to the affected area."

"I'm fine, really Baymax you don't have to worry," Hiro tries to soothe the robot. "I just stubbed my toe it's not the end of the world."

"But without proper care, it can cause pain and inflammation," Baymax states. "I will pull up examples of untreated stubbed toes for references."

"Baymax, you really don't have to...," Hiro started, "WOAH, WHAT IS THAT," Hiro exclaimed as Baymax proceeded to show various videos and photos of stubbed toes that vary in severity. "How does a toe even turn that color," He gagged, "What is it oozing... why is it oozing?"

Before Baymax could answer Aunt Cass burst into the workshop after a quick knock on the door. "Hiro, sweetie, I heard your stomach growling all the way from the kitchen," she says, setting the tray down on his desk. "I thought you might need a little pick-me-up to help you power through whatever it is you're working on."

Hiro looks up at her, grateful for the interruption. "Thanks, Aunt Cass," he says, feeling his mood start to lift already.

"You know I'm always here for you, kiddo," Aunt Cass replies, ruffling his hair affectionately. "Now, let's see what we've got here. I made your favorite sandwich, some fruit salad, and a little something sweet for dessert. And don't forget to drink your water, it's important to stay hydrated."

Hiro can't help but smile at his aunt's caring nature. "Thanks, Aunt Cass," he says again, feeling lucky to have someone like her in his life.

"Anytime, sweetheart," Aunt Cass replies, leaning in to give him a quick hug. "Now, I'll leave you to your work. But if you need anything, anything at all, you know where to find me." She leaves in a hurry, but not before gagging slightly at what Baymax is showing.

"Alwrigh' then, les' get back to i'!" Hiro states with his mouth full of sandwich.

"What is it that has you so frustrated Hiro," Baymax asks. "Perhaps speaking about it may help you work through it."

"It's nothing really Baymax I was just working o...," Hiro starts, "BAYMAX WHY ARE YOU STILL SHOWING THAT," Hiro exclaims as he turns around to face Baymax and only sees the images.

"Oh, apologies. I forgot this was still operational," Baymax states as he shuts his screen off.

"It's fine Baymax," he states as he shutters slightly. "As I was saying, I've been trying improve my Nano-Dex suit."

"Is this not the same suit that malfunctioned and caused a great number of problems," Baymax states.

"Yes, it's the same suit, but this time I've perfected it," he explains, "or at least I would've perfected it if I could just get it to do what I want."

"And what is it that you want it to do Hiro," Baymax asks.

"I'm trying to dial back the strength factor and make it into more of a reflex enhancer," Hiro explains, "but this stupid suits is proving trickier than I thought, and I don't want a repeat of last time."

"Do you mean when the Nano-Dex became stuck to your body," Baymax questions.

"Yes Baymax I mean whe..." Hiro starts.

"And you became unable to do anything without destroying something," Baymax continues.

"Yes that is wha..." Hiro tries again.

"And you ripped a door off the hinges, threw a chair at Karmi, and destroyed a ketchup bottle," Baymax continues.

"Well I wouldn't say threw...," Hiro tries to explain.

"If you like I could pull up footage of said incidents," Baymax states as he begins to pull a footage reel of the incidents in question.

"NO... I mean no you don't have to do that," Hiro rushes to stop Baymax, "I was there I know what happened and I don't really want to be reminded." "I don't know why I'm struggling so much," Hiro exclaims, "This took me less than a night last time, but this time I can't seem to focus long enough to get any work done."

"Would this distraction perhaps have anything to do with Karmi," Baymax asks, "It would seem that since your meeting approximately two day ago, your mind continues to wander."

"Wh-what I have no idea what you're talking about," Hiro stutters, "I don't sit and think about Karmi all day long."

"Hiro your heart rate has increased and vasodilation has begun to take place in your cheeks," Baymax starts, "This is a common sign of embarrassment in adolescents or when there is an increase in their libi..."

"NO, I do not need you to finish that sentence Baymax," Hiro interrupts, "I get the idea, and no I am not feeling 'that way'."

"It's just that...I thought that the most me and Karmi would ever actually interact again would be over the phone or webcam," Hiro rants, "and now that she's back in the city and, we can actually see each other in person. I guess I've been trying to avoid my feeling about the whole thing."

"Sometimes Hiro it is best to talk through your feeling with a close friend or loved ones," Baymax states.

"I know you're right about this Baymax," Hiro begins, "but it's just not that easy.

Hiro sighs deeply and stares off into nothing, trying to get his thoughts straight.

"You know what Baymax your absolutely right," Hiro starts optimistically, "I will talk about this with someone, and I know just the person."

He stands up with a look of determination and resolve in his eyes that were absent mere seconds ago.

"Now why don't we finish this suit," Hiro happily exclaims, "so I can finally get some sleep, I have a big day ahead of me tomorrow."

Hiro happily begins to complete his suit, unbeknownst to him that he is being watched. Two buildings away stands a figure shrouded in the shadows, and spying on Hiro and recording his every move.

"The subject has made no suspicious movement thus far," they state," and he seems to have no knowledge of our operations."

It is revealed that the figure is talking to a large holographic projection or a person whose face is completely hidden in the shadows.

"Excellent, everything is going exactly as planned," the mysterious man states, "return to base we have more than enough information."

As he says this the holographic screen changes to show the many coming and going of Big Hero 6 and even most of their close friends. One friend in particular is larger than all the others.

Author's Notes: Whew, I did not expect to ever return to this. I kept looking at the 3/4 done chapter and thinking to myself is it even worth coming back to this. But, baby has got inspiration after the longest time. I won't say to expect any kind of schedule just yet, but if I can keep these creative juices flowing I'd say every two weeks would be a new release. Until next time, Excelsior True Believers.
