Kitten Round Up 1.0
-Mid November 2022-
Barry had gone and scooped up the kitten who had flown up onto the kitchen counter.
"These kittens really are developing into their powers," Barry said, having to chase this kitten around the Penthouse several times. It was reminding Barry of a cat version of El.
"Well, we can relax some. They are ready to leave Hex," Kara spoke, giving Krypto a pet as Eric, Alura, and Nora – who were sitting nearby – moaned; all three going to grab one of the kittens but the kittens dodged the kids playfully.
"We can't keep mommy?" Eric said turning to Amelia with wide eyes.
"No," Amelia, Barry, and Kara said together to receive a pout.
Amelia got on her knees near her son. "We have Hex and Nala," Amelia said reminding her son of their two cats. "And Krypto and Porthos."
"And Powie and Casper," Kara added to their dog and cats mates from Prime and Mutant. "That's enough animals inside the Penthouse. Plus, we can always go to the Sanctuary for you to play with other dogs, cats, birds… well you name it – both Kryptonian and Meta." That seemed to cheer up the kids.
"So, are they going to the Sanctuary?" It was Winn who asked. He was sitting in the kitchen eating a piece of cake.
"Only one," Kara said of the five kitten and patted one on the head, picking her up. "This one Froggy is expecting. She will be great for an upcoming show that needs a cat. Plus, a good model for magazine and commercials." It was the calmer of the kittens Kara was holding who seemed to snuggle into her. "Krypto, want to bring her to Froggy?"
Krypto gave a bark and walked over letting Kara place the kitten on his back. Krypto very gently lifted his feet off the ground and then he was gone.
"Hates puppies but good with kittens that dog is weird…" Barry remarked, to a raised eyebrow from Kara. It was a few minutes later, though, that Kara got a text from Froggy to say she received the cat.
"What about the other four?" Amelia asked.
"Like we do with the Powto pups," Barry said, smirking at his couple name for Krypto and Powie. "It's time to spread some kitten love out into the multiverse."
"Kitten Round Up 1.0," a familiar voice said, but surprised them. From the stairs to the main Penthouse a Cisco the group knew as Vibe Junior appeared. "I figured you would be up here."
"Jason is up there," Kara said, having decided to keep the kittens away from her nephew. He had dealt with his week of punishment over the incident with Eric, Alura, and Nora well, but they were still keeping a closer eye on him. "What are you doing here, Junior? Where's Kayla?" She knew Vibe Junior would usually traverse the multiverse with his Hitchhiking Kayla friend.
"She's spending valued time with her Mon and her mom. Anyway, you can't spread the kittens to the multiverse without me. Besides I know what four Earths need a kitten," Cisco said, and Kara and Barry looked at each other and shrugged. They knew from their bond they were in agreement.
"Okay, Junior, grab a kitten and come along," Kara instructed, and Cisco took one of the kittens. Barry was still holding the one from before and Kara took the last two. A portal opened and the three left with the kittens.
"What are we doing today?" It was Romana coming out of her bedroom. Star came out of hers at this and the three little kids looked up at Amelia and Winn. Kent was sitting in the kitchen with Winn eating cake. Winn cleaned him up when he was done and picked the boy up – dad training.
"You free?" Winn asked knowing since the promotion Amelia had been a lot busier than before.
"Yes, you?" Amelia asked.
"Yes," Winn said giving a smile at his wife.
"How about we take the kids to the movies then?" Amelia asked her husband.
"We can go to the mall, do a little shopping, and then the movie," Winn said, and the kids smiled and agreed with the two adults.
"Sounds like a fun day," Amelia commented. "Go get your shoes and coat on. Winn, change Kent." The five ran and Winn nodded, going to get Kent into more appropriate outfit. "Jason, get ready, we're going out!" Amelia called, walking up the stairs to where the boy was watching TV.
"No," Jason said. "I don't want to."
"Too bad, we're going out and you are not allowed to stay here alone, so get your shoes on. Gideon, shut off the TV and don't allow it back on," Amelia said and the TV shut off. Jason gave Amelia a glare but got up and went up the spiral stairs to get his shoes.
-Karry Universe-
Princess Diana was in her Wonder Woman outfit standing on top of a high building, but not paying attention to the city below her as she looked at her phone, watching a video.
"Wonder Woman, all the world is waiting for you and the power you posses…" the music played. This was about the fifth time Diana had watched this.
"Diana?" It was Karen flying to stand next to Diana with KJ next to her. Both in their outfits.
"Hey, Power Girl," Diana mumbled. "What do you think of this video for the Wonder Woman movie? The song specifically."
"It's catchy," Karen said with a shrug.
"But I mean the words. Stopped a war with love? I have never stopped a war with love. My sword did the fighting," Diana said, seeming offended by the language used.
"Wonder Woman, the world's first hero, movie airing summer 2023, by STAR Studios," the voice said as it hit the end.
"I do like that part," Diana said.
"I think Kara and Barry know what they are doing. I mean the song is playing well in casinos," Karen said.
"Casinos?" Diana asked with a raised eyebrow, putting her cellphone next to her Justice League communicator.
"You didn't know? There are a ton of new Wonder Woman slot machines. They play that song when you hit free spins," Karen said with a smirk.
"I didn't. I let Kara and Barry do whatever they want to with the Wonder Woman rights and get my check. I did notice though my checks have been bigger lately but I thought that had to deal with the movie," Diana remarked, tilting her head. She might want to ask Kara and Barry about everything they were doing. "Hey, wait, you're not 21 yet."
"Indian casinos let you in at 18 and overseas have lower gambling ages," Karen smirked. "Plus, a lot of people keep mistaking me for Kara lately. It is helpful not to get carded." Diana gave a laugh and gave Karen a playful push at that. "But I needed to talk to you around something."
"Oh?" Diana asked.
"I know Young Justice is a thing of the past and you're not my mentor anymore, but I need some advice and I was hoping you would be willing," Karen said.
"Always," Diana smiled. "Tell me what is going on?"
Before Karen could speak, a weapon hit into both, knocking them back and off the building. The two fell for a moment before they got their senses and flew back up. KJ, who hadn't been hit, had already gone to attack their attacker.
The two heroes quickly realized it was this new Weapons Master guy.
Diana took out her sword. "First, let's make this guy history," Diana said, and charged at the villain – joining Power Dog. Karen lit up her eyes and went to fight besides her former mentor.
-Karry Universe-
Kara, Barry, and Cisco came out of the portal in a home where two little speedster kids were running around.
"Multiverse?" A familiar voice asked, and they looked to see Ray Palmer standing there.
"Yes," Barry said, confused.
"Rae!" Ray called up the stairs and down the stairs came Rae.
"Junior, which world is this?" Kara asking, having heard of somewhere Rae and Ray were together.
"Bounty," this Rae answered, confusing the two as they looked at Ray. "Ray is my nanny." Rae clarified at seeing where the looks were going.
"Oh," Barry said.
"What's with the kittens?" Rae asked, giving a smile as she looked at the four kittens the group were holding. All the kittens were mixes of grays and whites, with some having more gray than white or vise versa; only one was solid white.
"Karry Universe's Kryptonian cat, Hex had kittens with my universe's Kryptonian cat, Casper," Cisco answered. "You told Prime you would prefer a kitten."
"Didn't expect one this fast. Sara just got Gunner like last week," Rae remarked, but there was a smile on her face as she said this.
"I love that dog," Ray said with a smile.
"Why…?" Kara started.
"Ray and Sara are married here," Rae said, cutting Kara off, knowing from her multiverse adventures that was unusual. "So, which one can I take?" Rae was smiling at the kittens as one of the ones Kara was holding jumped from her arms and flew into Rae's. "Oh you're a pretty girl…" The cat was a mix of gray and white but whiter than gray. "Alister, Bella, come meet our new family member."
The two kids ran over to their mom, seeming excited, and the kitten seemed happy to see the kids too. "Will this one get along with Samuel?" Ray asked.
"Samuel?" Kara asked.
"Kara's Kryptonian Bald Eagle, but he stays at the office so, it's not a big deal at all. He's getting on a bit too, Samuel," Rae added thoughtfully, but pushed the though aside as she kissed the kitten.
"That was easy. Junior, next world," Barry said, deciding to leave them and Cisco opened a portal for the group.

The portal opened, the Karry group arriving in a house they had never seen before. They were surprised when a familiar Staff was suddenly in their face lightning up.
"You're from the multiverse," the teenage girl said, holding the Staff at Kara who stepped in front of her husband and Junior, handing the kitten she had to Barry for protection.
"Yes, and put that down," Kara said, not afraid of the Cosmic Staff and literally putting her hand on it. "We don't mean you any harm, but I will defend if you attack."
"Courtney," a voice spoke, and a man walked out of the kitchen who Kara had never seen before. "Lower the staff…" Behind the man was a face Kara did know: herself as a teenager, and Kara had to smirk at that. There was another blonde girl behind her. "You're an alternate of Kara," the man said as Courtney put down the Staff.
"Kara Allen, my husband Barry, this is Cisco," Kara Allen said.
"We've met before," Cisco said giving a smile as he held onto his own kitten. "Kara, Barry, this is Legacy Earth."
"Ah, right," Kara nodded, having wondered with the young version of herself here.
"And you are?" Barry asked the man though. He and Kara had figured out in their heads he must be the one taking care of Kara, but they had never seen him before.
"Pat Dugan," Pat said. "And my daughters, Courtney, Kara, and Zia."
"You're a Zia?" Kara said to the younger girl. "I only know of one other version of you in the multiverse. I see why you thought this world would need a kitten, Junior."
"Kitten?" Zia asked, having seen the cats but having remained quiet about them.
"Our cat had kittens and they are Kryptonians. We like to give the puppies and kittens from our animals to the multiverse to worlds not lucky enough to have Kryptonian animals of their own," Kara explained.
"Dad?" Zia said turning to Pat.
"Can we, Pat?" The younger Kara asked, using his first name instead of 'dad'. Kara Allen getting it since she herself had never felt comfortable calling anyone but Alura mom and Zor dad.
"I don't know," Pat said, but couldn't deny the begging look on both their face. "Alright, alright, let me just text Barbara to make sure she's okay with it..." Pat took out his cellphone.
"I'm pretty sure mom will be fine with it," Courtney stayed; Zia and Kara were already looking over the three kittens left along with Courtney herself.
"Which one though?" Kara asked, her little sister seeming to dart between the kittens in excitement.
"We should pick one that we could train to come into the field with us. AJ recently got a superpowered dog somehow and I think it's helpful," Courtney reasoned.
"Yeah, actually Houdini was originally meant for you, but AJ crashed the party and the two bonded," Cisco said. He had been feeling a little bit guilty that the young Kryptonians here hadn't ended up with a dog – it was why he had made sure to put them on the list when he heard Karry Universe wanted to give away Hex's kitten to the multiverse.
"Well, Barbara is fine with it," Pat said to a buzz from buzz from his phone.
"And I like this one," the young Kara said, taking the all-white one Barry had been holding – the same one he had been having to chase around the Penthouse several times. Zia and Courtney seemed to agree petting the cat.
"I think he will be perfect for you," Barry said picking up one of the unchosen kittens. "Junior next world." Cisco gave a nod and opened the portal.
"Man, I'll never get used to those portals…" Pat mused as the trio and kittens left.
-Karry Universe-
Diana and Karen had fought well together; when Diana was her mentor, the two had trained and fought a lot together. KJ has worked well with their styles, too, as well to create a force with the three of them fighting together. Still, this Weapons' Master with his unique weapons was giving them a run for their money.
"Who are you?" Karen asked the villain as they fought. "Why are you attacking us?"
"Your media has done well with calling me the Weapons Master," the man stated, fighting both women and dog with surprising ease. "It is the name I have taken, but my given name is Xotar."
"Nice to meet you, Xotar," Diana stayed with a irony in her tone. "Other Justice League members should be coming soon," she added, knowing this would draw attention of the others.
Xotar, or the Weapons Master must have known that too as suddenly a giant robot appear and shot at them, causing them to be blown back and hit into a building. By the time the fog and dust has cleared, Weapons Master's robot was flying away with the villain inside.
"Ah man," Diana said looking at her sword. It had been broken. That was nearly impossible so that weapon must have been powerful.
"He never did tell us what he's up to," Karen sighed before meeting Diana's eyes and noticing the sword. "Damn. Can that be fixed…?"
"Yes, but I'll have to go to Herculea to get it fixed..." Diana felt she was lucky to have Herculea to go to with Themyscira gone. If this had happened with nowhere to go she would be down a sword.
"Well then, me and Power Dog can catch him," Karen said, about to move as KJ gave a growl as if agreeing, but Diana put a hand on her shoulder.
"No, he won this one," Diana said, holding a hand up. "We'll get him eventually, though," Karen took a breath and nodded as Diana went on the communicator to tell the other Weapons Master was gone.
"So, what did you want to talk to me about?" Diana now asked.
"What? Oh, before he attacked," Karen had almost forgotten she had come to Diana for advice. So, once out of public attention Karen turned to Diana. "I want in the Justice League."
-Karry Universe-
Kara, Barry, and Cisco came out of the portal behind a food truck. The two saw a Rae and Ray sitting at a table behind there.
"Hey more multiverse, good timing, we're right before the lunch rush. Want food?" This Rae asked.
"Yes," Barry responded before either Kara or Cisco could say anything. What? Barry asked in his head, feeling Kara's annoyance. I'm hungry.
Fine, Kara said, giving a small smile as Ray brought out three things in wrappers.
"We're doing Gyros today," Rae explained, indicating the meat in pita bread they had just received.
"What's with the cats?" Ray asked instead.
"Isn't Frost here?" Cisco asked.
"Here," a voice said, and Frost came out of the truck. "Rae, you should have enough ice in the ice box for the drinks."
"Thanks, Frosty," Rae said and noticed the looks. "It's a lot cheaper to have Frost make ice then buy it."
"FrostAllen," Kara muttered knowing that this had to be the world they were on – there were plenty of ice metas in the multiverse, most with Caitlin's face, but so far there was only one world she knew with one going just by 'Frost'.
"Back with Kittens this time?" Frost asked, but having heard Kara's realization, looking at Cisco and ignoring the comment from her friend. "Wasn't it last week you gave us Renegade?"
"Well, you expressed you would prefer a kitten and we have some to give away," Cisco said as one of the kittens leaped from his hand and went right to Frost. "I think that one likes you," Frost was smiling at the kitten as she held it and pet it.
"Well Caity got a dog. I think this is only fair," Frost said with a smile.
"Shouldn't Kay Kay get a Kryptonian animals?" Rae asked. Barry had already sat down, having given his last kitten to Kara as he dug into the Gyro.
"Kay Kay?" Kara asked, petting the last kitten that needed to be given away.
"Kayla," Rae said. "We only have a Kayla, no Kara."
"Oh, that's weird. Well, I'm Kara and our world has no Kayla but we know several of them. If she wants one we can definitely give one in the future," Kara said as Barry finished the one Gyro and moved onto the second. Cisco went to take the third before the speedster ate all three.
"I can get you another one," Ray said, putting an arm around Rae and Kara had to give a smile. So, this was the world where Ray and Rae were together.
"That's fine," Kara said, knowing how good Rae cooked but honestly wasn't in the mood for food at the moment. She wanted to get the last kitten to it's home and go home herself. "You two done?"
"I'm good," Barry said, having finished the second Gyro. "And excellent as always Rae. So you two run a food truck?" Rae gave a nod. "I might need to show up on this world more often."
"You would be welcome," Rae said as the group turned to see Cisco still eating.
"Give me a few more minute," Cisco complained as he continued to eat. Kara and Barry chatted with Rae and Ray as Frost continued to pet her new kitten. "Finished." Cisco finally said and went to open a portal. "Next world is a little different to most..." Kara and Barry wondered what that meant as Kara held onto the last kitten and they went through the portal.

The Karry group came out of their portal onto a farm and Kara and Barry recognized instantly as Kent Farm – they had been here on Mutant, of course, and obviously New Justice too which was now the Sanctuary. This Kent Farm though resembled more the Mutant indicating it was still working as a farm.
"Oh, more multiverse," it was Clark coming towards them. He had the same face as the Clark on her world.
"Clark," Kara said with a smile.
"I am Kal," Kal said and Kara blinked at that.
"Okay. Hi, Kal, is your Kara here?" Cisco asked, knowing Kara didn't always live at the farm.
"I am," it was another Kara coming out with a red haired middle-aged woman. "Are you another Kayla?"
"No, Kara," Kara Allen said back. "What is going on here?"
"Oh, see Kara here was lost as a child when your father and uncle were testing the pods that on every other world brought you and Kal here. She was raised by Martha and Jonathan Kent from the age of three, having no real memories of Krypton. Meanwhile, Daxam took in the Kryptonian people and was renamed In'Dak. Kayla… well Kaylar is Queen there with Mon. Kal moved here after the Els of this world found out Kara was here," Cisco explained.
"What is this world called?" Barry asked.
"We haven't named it yet. We're a little lost on a name," Cisco mused.
"Well, Lost Universe seems like a good name," Kara pointed out; the people of this world having remained quiet as Cisco explained. Cisco blinked as Karry Kara named the world so easily. "But, this is a Kryptonian kitten. Child of my cat Hex. We have been giving them out to the multiverse and this one is for you," she now added to her double.
"You really don't need to," Lost Kara said, but gave a smile as the kitten was handed to her. Karry Kara knew she was hooked to the cat.
"She's a cute kitten," the woman who just gave her Martha said, smiling at the cat. Kara had vaguely known her Martha Kent in her youth but the one she remembered had been older than this one.
"That is very nice," Kal said. "We managed to get our animals to Daxam, but not a lot. We're still breeding them to increase numbers." Kal gave the kitten a pet as well.
"Hey, did I almost miss multiverse again?" It was another Barry showing up in a speed trail. "Oh, awesome outfit you have there." This Barry held out his hand for a high five to his alternate which Karry Barry took. "Oh, a kitten."
Karry Barry laughed at his alternate. He seems a bit feather-brained, but in a fun way.
"Where did everyone go?" Yet another new voice called out and the two were shocked to see Martha Kent's husband, Jonathan Kent. "I am the only one preparing the barn for the party tonight?"
"Coming Jon," Kal called out to him, going off with the elder Kent.
"How many Clarks do you think will want to come here?" Kara Allen asked out loud at seeing Jonathan Kent alive and well.
A lot, Barry thought back. "Well Junior, that's the last kitten. Time to go home."
Cisco opened the portal for the group. "Text us when you decide on the name. We're Karry Universe," Karry Kara told her alternate.
"Karry ..? What's a Karry?" Martha asked. Kara chuckle at this – it had been a while since anyone had asked that question.
"Its a couple name for me and Barry. A host at karaoke one time called us it," Kara told Martha, who blinked and then gave a giggle at that herself as the multiverse trio left.
-Karry Universe-
Diana had brought Karen back to her place and sat there to listen to Karen talk.
Power Girl told her about coming out of retirement for the Aquawar; how it reunited her passion to be a hero, to be Power Girl. KJ barked along, clearly excited his mistress was back in the game as well. "…and well, the Justice League has always been the goal. Connor and Jack are in it," Karen finished her explanation.
Diana paused for a moment looking at Karen.
"Connor and Jack never quit their superhero persona, Karen. You did, albeit with good reason maybe and I understand needing a break. Over my long life I have taken more than one," Diana said, giving Karen a look. "And everyone is very appreciative of what you did during the Aquawar, coming out of retirement, protecting Europe. It would have been a lot harder without you there. The thing is, no one really saw that as a permanent come back. Not in the League or the public."
"So, you're saying no? You won't put me up for a vote," Karen said, her heart sinking, having figured Diana was her best shot at getting the vote. Any member of the League, after all, could put anyone up to a vote.
"I am not saying that, but I won't blindside the leaders – especially considering who you are to them," Diana said, and Karen gave an understanding nod. "And I am not sure you would pass a vote at the moment with so many seeing you as a former hero and not a current."
Diana got up though and put a hand on Karen's shoulder. "I need to go to Herculea to get my weapon repaired and see Donna. Afterward, I will have a conversation with Kara and Barry and together we will come up with a way forward for you. To join us. Because I do think you deserve it."
"Thank you, Diana," Karen said, glad to hear the words she deserved it, giving Diana a hug, which Diana hugged back. KJ gave a bark and Diana gave him a pet so he was not left out.
"Now, I better get going. Want to join? Donna would be happy to see you and introduce you to Nisos. The two are practically mated now," Diana said with a smile and laugh. "And I would love to introduce you to Jace."
"I have classes," Karen reminded Diana. "Maybe during break?"
"I would like that," Diana smiled.
"And when you get back, we can go to a casino and play the Wonder Woman machine," Karen remarked, and Diana gave a surprised smile as Karen left the apartment with her dog.
-Karry Universe-
Kara and Barry were in the Penthouse for a while and Junior had left before Amelia and Winn came in with all the kids. Jason stomping up the stairs.
"Was he good?" Kara asked of Jason as she took Kent from Amelia, smiling at her son. The four girls were taking items out of bags, Eric joining the girls.
"As good as can be expected," Amelia sighed. "No temper tantrums. I even bought him a new pair of shoes and he seemed thankful."
"That's good," Kara said, smiling at all the bags Winn was putting down. "Still spoiling Eric?"
"We have a few years to make up for," Amelia joked. "So did the kittens get good homes?"
"They did," Kara said.
"And we are already getting texts with names," Barry said smiling at his cellphone.
-Karry Universe-
Karen sat in her apartment at the desks she had set up. She had just finished her assignment and was looking through her journal. She had written a summary of the events for the day already and was going over what she had written.
On my quest to get into the League, I spoke to Diana – but not before we were attacked by Weapons Master, Karen wrote. We found out his real name is Xotar but beyond that, no idea of motive. Diana has to return to Herculea though as a result of his attack to get her sword repaired but she will be back soon. She said she would talk to Kara and Barry about getting me in the League. I hope she really can help.
Karen smiled as she finished her journal entry and closed the book.
"Hey KJ, want to go to the Sanctuary for a bit?" Karen asked her dog, who perked up at that. She knew KJ had taken a liken to a female meta dog at their Sanctuary when he went there with Connor and Karen, for some reason didn't want to sit still. KJ gave a bark and Karen gave a chuckle, the two leaving.
-Karry Universe-
After the events of the day, Xotar aka Weapons Master, sat in his hide out looking at the journal.
On my quest to get into the League, I tried to speak to Diana – but not before we were attacked my Weapons Master. We found out his real name is Xotar but beyond that, no idea of motive. Diana was badly injured. She has to return to Herculea. We don't know how long she will be gone. Sadly with her gone, I have no idea if I will be able to get into the League any time soon.
Xotar gave a laugh as he read the passage.
"I hurt Wonder Woman," he said. "They know who I am now, and I hurt the first hero. This was a good day..."
Post Chapter Note: Well, I hope you liked. And a reminder to Weapons' Master's real name. Remember, he was introduced in the previous segment under the chapter 'Into the 31st Century ', with older Kara and Barry making their appearances.
