Jason locked the door to the Big Cabin while Percy began blocking it with furniture. Eren grabbed his head. "This isn't right! I was supposed to meet him!" The boy exclaimed.
Jason helped Percy with the couch. "Meet who?" He approached Eren. "Eren, how are you even here right now? Where are we?"
"You think I know!" Eren gave him an angry look. "You crashed into the window… God I didn't even check to see if Mikasa was ok…"
"Jason, who's the kid?" Percy threw a wooden chair onto the pile in front of the door.
"It's a long story." Jason ducked when the arrow crashed through one of the windows. He pulled Eren down with him.
Percy kicked one of the book cases to cover the widow. "Make it short!"
"Uhhh… His friend saved me from a giant monster lady."
Percy pushed Chiron's desk towards one of the windows and heaved. It covered another window. "Good enough." Jason didn't know whether he was admiring his handiwork, or his explanation of the situation.
Another arrow crashed through a back window. Jason saw Eren's face. He was scared. Jason grabbed his shoulder. "Eren. Eren, listen!" He shook the poor boy. Eren's attention was on him. "Tell me what happened." Percy grabbed the table they were under and placed it in front of another window.
"I… You flew into the window, but you weren't you. You were him. And he told me I had to pass some kind of test. And you were bleeding gold. And I had to save you! You saved us from that earth titan." Percy's ears perked at the last sentence, but he kept working on the blockade.
Eren continued, "So I figured I would drink your blood again and…"
"Drink my what?"
Eren took a breath, "When we were in the forest, when you sacrificed yourself for Berthold, I accidentally drank your blood." Jason wanted to ask how that was possible, but let the boy continue. "Reiner choked me out and I met your grandfather… I think. He didn't tell me how he was related to you."
"My grandfather…?" Suddenly the group heard bangs outside the front door. Percy unsheathed his blade. "The door won't hold for long." Percy said.
Jason approached Percy. "How did you get here?"
"Is now really the time for questions?"
"What's that last thing you remember?" Jason insisted.
The door banged three times before he answered.
"I bled gold from my nose."
The door blasted open. The beefier kids of the Aphrodite cabin stood in its wake. Jason kept his attention on Percy. "How can we bleed ichor? We're only demigods."
"I don't know," Percy backed from the door, he pointed up stairs, "Head for the attic, kid."
"But…"
"NOW!"
Eren followed orders.
Jason and Percy faced the children of Aphrodite. Jason had no idea what was going on. But with Percy Jackson at his side, he felt he could face anything.
Love attacked, and the rage of the sea and the sky returned in kind.
