CHAPTER 164
There was a crash, and the garage door collapsed inward as Hellfire rolled through it. As everyone backed away Vulture tumbled off of the carnotaurus and fell on the hood of the white Jeep. Squirming to its feet the utahraptor leapt back onto Hellfire, and they both rolled out of the doorway.
"Get in the Jeep!" Dianna grabbed Kyra and pushed her into the back seat. When she turned to reach for Seth he wasn't there.
Seth had spotted a taser gun that was laying just beyond the garage door. By the time Dianna saw him he was already picking it up off the ground.
"Seth!"
As Seth turned to come back in the end of Hellfire's tail whacked him in the back, and he flew through the door and struck the grill of the white Jeep.
Dianna rushed over and picked him up from the ground. "Are you ok?"
Seth winced and nodded.
"Don't ever do anything like that again." Taking him by the arm she shoved him into the back seat next to Kyra.
Kyra shook her head at him as he sat down.
Seth nodded to the taser gun in his arms. "You'll probably thank me later."
Dianna climbed behind the driver's seat and took the wheel. The Jeep was shuddering so hard it was a wonder to her that it didn't just rattle apart. She looked in the vibrating rear view mirror at Kyra and her son. They looked anxious to say the least.
"Seatbelts!" Dianna hollered over her shoulder.
"There are none," they both shouted back.
"Shit. Just hold on tight."
Dianna looked over at the black Jeep. Gary was behind the wheel, and Bill was next to him with a pistol in hand. Gary looked at her and they both nodded at each other.
Behind them the dirt bikes were buzzing alive.
"Well, at least we don't have to open the door." Marcus nodded to the flattened garage door.
Dr. Conners said, "yeah, good thing that was the hard part."
Marcus smiled and pulled a spare pistol from his waist. "Here, don't let King Louie run off with your firepower again."
Bryce took the weapon and tucked it behind his hip. "Thanks."
Marcus turned to Logan. "You ready, boy?"
Logan had just shoved what looked like an entire can of chewing tobacco into his cheek. Chomping down on it with a loud smack that could almost be heard over the jeeps he said, "ready to die hard."
Marcus watched him spit the first of many large brown globs to come and said, "I ain't riding behind you, boy."
