" ...so does anyone have any questions " asked Phantom
Aizawa looked at him " That depends on...are you going to answer them? "
"...hmm let me think for a moment...nope! " Phantom popped the p at the and while others looked at him with deadpanned looks
" then why did you even bother to Fu*king ask," asked irritated Bakugo
" ...because it's funny " answered Phantom making some of them angry and some looked at him dolly
" ...well anyway who will read the next chapter " asked curious Mic
" Well Mister Mic as some of you already figured out the book is special and in many ways, one of them is that it can decide who it reads it " answered Phantom
" ...The book decides who the reader is. " Asked confused Kamenari and looked at Phantom with a questioning look
" yes that's right and it can do a lot more than decide its readers but that doesn't matter right now what matters is that we see who reads the next chapter," said Phantom
The book started flote in the air and started to go over to someone that they didn't expect it would " ...it choose Dabi " said Shigaraki with deadpan
Dabi looked at everyone with annoyance " Why is that so surprising "
" you don't seem a reading kind of guy " was a doll response from Shoto
" hah what do you mean by that you little sh#t Shigaraki doesn't seem like reading tape too but no one seemed too bothered then," said Dabi with a confused look
" that is because Shigaraki seemed like he wanted to murder someone when he was reading and on top of that he was only reading it because the first chapter was literally about him," said Phantom while others were nodding in agreement
Dabi just looked at him and then at others " ...whatever let's just read the demn book already " Some of the UA students nodded and sat down but before Dabi started reading Izuku raised his hand
" yes Mister Midoria what seems to be the problem," asked Phantom with a raised eyebrow
" ...well Mister Phantom can we get something to eat as we read...I mean we weren't able to eat so some of us have not been able to eat all day " said a flustered Izuku
" ...oh I see...does anyone else want to eat as we read, " asked Phantom and saw that most of them nodded " Well all right if that's what you want," said Phantom and snapped his fingers
When Phantom snapped his fingers everyone's eyes got wide they saw their favorite food appear right in front of them "...just what Is your Quark " asked intrigued Aizawa while holding a coffee mug
Phantom sipped his mug and after a minute answered "...that is a secret for me to keep and for you guys to probably never find out "
That remark only made some of them angry " ...whatever let's just read " said Dabi with an annoyed look
" then by all means the stage is all yours," said an amused Phantom Dabi just Grambled but didn't say anything and only nodded but suddenly they heard a familiar ringing voice it was Phantom's phone " ...sorry it's the boss again " apologized Phantom as he pushed the answer button and put it to his ear
" ...are you sure it can create a ruckus...well all right if that's what you want "Then he put his phone back in his pocket and looked at the others and smiled " ...it seems that the boss wants some visitors for this chapter "
Those words caught everyone off guard " ...does that mean you are going to bring more people here " asked a concerned Midnight
" ...that is right but only three people " he then snapped his fingers once more and suddenly a familiar portal opened and dropped three white-hired people suddenly Todoroki started to run over to them and shocked some of the people when he shouted
" Mum are you all right... " he helped the woman up who looked at him " ...Shoto is that you... " Then she started to look around and asked, " ...where are we... "
" let me explain that Miss Rei," said Phantom with a calming tone and looked at the three new arrivals
- after thirty minutes -
" So you want us to read a book," asked confused Fuymi
" that is correct so if you don't mind sitting down so we can continue reading will be highly appreciated," said Phantom
Rei smiled and nodded " ...I don't mind " Natsuo looked at his mum in shock " Mum you can't be serious about listening to this guy "
" ...I am...and honestly it feels good that I am not stuck in the hospital anymore so if you don't mind Natsuo please sit down " was Rei's reply
Phantom nodded in agreement and looked at Dabi " Now please read Mister Dabi "
Dabi nodded and started to read

' Just a Choice
Toya could feel himself burning. '
Dabi's eyes got wide when he saw himself on the TV but was not able to say anything when he heard a crying voice when he looked at who was crying he could not stop himself from curse
" ...why is it showing Toya," asked teary-eyed Rei
Phantom only sighed " ...Miss Rei don't worry you will find out everything while we read now please continue reading "
Dabi didn't say anything and just continued to read
' With each passing sweep of his flames his skin scorched itself; swelling, sizzling, and smoking like meat on a grill. It itched and stung, like some creeping disease, gradually leaving him numb. He knew it wasn't a sickness. No. It was his Quirk. His fire. His flame, burned him the more he used it. Scorching his body as surely as it did the ground of Sekoto Peak. The angrier he became, the more it worsened. What kind of crappy quirk was this? He couldn't even use it properly without hurting himself. '
" ...that sounds like a pretty powerful but dangerous quark," said Midnight and cringing when she saw the look on all of the Todorokis
' Still, he didn't stop training. He couldn't. He refused.
'I have to be the best. No matter what Dad says! I'll show him! I'll show them all!'
It was all he knew. All he had. All he could. He had to prove himself to Dad. He'd be the best hero ever. Better than Endeavor, better than All Might. Then anyone and everyone.
He would keep training. No matter what. '
" ...oh Toya if only I was a better parent maybe we would still have " said Rei who looked like she was dying from inside
No one noticed Dabi's face except Phantom who told him " ...please continue to read " Dabi just did as he was told
' Wild flames fanned out, annihilating a great tree. Not good enough. He grits his teeth and grabs the flames with his willpower, obliterating a circle of boulders behind it. Still not good enough! A furious roar escaped him and his flames blazed in response. The skin of his arms crackled and he bit back a hiss of pain. Push through! Endure! Blaze! '
" ...that seems like it hurts," said a concerned Momo as she looked at the white-haired boy
' Someone clapped behind him. "Pretty nice quirk you've got there. Powerful, too!"
Toya pivoted without thinking. Bereft of his control, his flames blazed on, scorching the ground at his feet.
...?!"
A young boy wrapped up in dark slacks and a dully navy hoodie stood behind him, clapping jovially, lips parted in a toothy smile. His eyes were a lively shade of red, face pale, hair gone a bluish-ash gray. And yet for all that, he didn't show so much as a hint of fear. Maybe it was his age; he looked a little older than him. A bit more confident. Pleased with himself too, as if he'd just found a diamond in the rough. Like was trying to smile even if he didn't feel it. '
" look it's little Shigi and he looks so much better now," said Himiko
Dabi just looked at the screen in surprise and thought " ...it seems that we meet a lot sooner " but didn't say anything and continued to read
' ...who the hell are you?" he scowled and ran a hand through his dark hair. "Don't interrupt my training."
"Training, huh?" The boy beamed back at him, the very picture of innocence. "That's why I'm here. What're you doing in my spot?"
Toya felt the beginnings of a frown mar his face. "...your spot? The hell? I was here first!"
"You weren't." the boy replied with eerie calm. "So? You gonna move or what?" '
" wow little Shigi is so bossy " teased Toga
" one more word I dare you... " Was Shigaraki's only reply then he smiled when there was no reply " ...good...you may continue Dabi "
' "Hmm?" a new voice called behind him. "Did you make a friend, Tenko?" '
" and here comes Naruto," said ever bubbly Hagakure
' A new figure leaped down from one of the trees, startling Toya terribly. He had time enough to glimpse a worn green cloak contrasted by a pair of black-on-orange trousers; then they were gone, obscured by the heavy garment he wore. Bright blue eyes blinked back at him, set within a round face framed by whiskered cheeks and tawny blond hair. The latter was covered in dirt and leaves; yet another sign that he'd been here for some time. '
No one saw Rei's small blush " ...so that is Naruto " were her thoughts
' ...who in blazes were these two?
This man...how do I describe him? His presence was warm. Sunny, even. For all the dark circles under his eyes, he still granted him a smile. '
" ...he really does have a kind smile doesn't he," said Riukiu not noticing how half of the room nodded in agreement but Dabi didn't say anything and just continued to read
' His footsteps had no sound. Strange. He walked as anyone would, yet despite that, he didn't make the slightest noise. Was she a Hero then? Maybe a Villain? No, a Villain wouldn't bother to look after a kid. Something like that just wasn't done. Without thinking, Toya slapped a label on him, just as he did everything else these days.
This man smiled at the strangest things; thus he would be called the Smiling Man until he ascertained his name. '
Rei looked a little happier when he heard her son's thoughts but didn't say anything
' "Don't mind us." the young man held up a hand. "We're not here to mess with you. There's plenty of space up here for everyone, right?"
Tenko kicked the ground, displacing some gravel. "But he's in my spot."
A blond brow rose. "What did I tell you about sharing?"
"Ugh, daaaaad...
"C'mon, don't be like that." he reached down to tousle the boy's hair. "I'll take you out for ice cream later. So play nice, eh?" '
" once more very good way to calm the young master down...I think I should take notes " said Kurogiri once more missing Shigaraki's death glair
" ...Dabi continue reading before I destroy something...or someone," said Shigaraki
That was all it took for Dabi to continue reading
' Father and son, then? They didn't look a thing like one another. An ugly seed of anger sprouted in Toya's chest. Unfair. They couldn't possibly be related. There was just no way. And yet. He swallowed once, trying to stifle a retort, and failed utterly. A trembling finger rose to point at them."
"Are you...training him?"
"Yup!" the blond's head bobbed. "Been doing it for the last few weeks, now."
A muscle jumped in Toya's jaw. "Is that so...?"
"Go on, Tenko." the man nudged him. "Show him"
"Tenko?"
The boy peeled off one of his gloves and laid a hand upon a burnt boulder, the surface still blackened by flame. It didn't so much shatter as it did decay; crumbling in on itself like so much dust. Despite himself, Toya winced. His own Cremation was powerful and all, but that...how did this kid even live? How did he touch anything at all, without it all falling apart? '
"...now that I look at it Shigaraki does have a powerful quark doesn't he," said scared Kamenari noticing for once how others were agreeing with him
Shigaraki smiled at the look of some of the students " Continue to read Dabi it's getting interesting "
' "Thatta boy!"
Tenko preened, cheeks flushing at his praise.
Toya saw it all. Every bit of it. Not fair. Not fair. Unfair!
Dad wouldn't train him. Too dangerous he said. He knew what he meant. Unworthy. He never said it, but it was implied. He was already trying to have more kids with Mom. Trying to replace him. The boy before him had a quirk even more devastating than his. And still! His dad trained him! '
Those words only broke Rei but she didn't say anything she only thought " ...oh Toya did you really think like that "
' His emotions swung into a wretched downward spiral. For a moment, he hated the boy before him.
"Hmm?" the blond man frowned suddenly. Almost as if he'd sensed it. "You all right, there?"
Toya grits his teeth until his jaw begins to ache. "M'fine...don't worry about me."
A hand settled on his dark hair. "See, I don't think you are all right." '
" ...OK I guess he really is fast," said Mirko with jealousy I mean she was built for speed
Others only nodded in agreement seeing how fast was the blonde-haired man meanwhile Dabi just continued to read
' Blue eyes filled his vision. So close! When did he move?!
He tried to retreat, but another hand clamped down on his shoulder, holding him fast. Who was this guy!?
"If you're having trouble with your Quirk, I can give ya a few pointers, same as I did Tenko. In the end, it's all about control." the smiling man held up a finger. "See?" As he spoke, it flickered with golden flame, yet spread no further than his index. "You have to feel the power in you. Let it flow through you, grab it, and then control it. S'not hard. Go on. You try." '
"...OK now things are getting out of hand just what Is the quark that is giving him so many powers at once " asked Riukiu with deadpan
" let me read so we can find out " was the reply from Dabi
' "It doesn't work that way!" Frustration bubbled up in him. "I already tried!"
That smile was all too kind. It hurt. "Do or do not, there is no try."
"Shut up!"
Here, at last, his emotions slipped their leash.
The azure flame flared up, blazing impossibly hot. Panic flared with it. No! Control it! He'd burn himself! He'd burning everything! But he couldn't control it any longer. The inferno was free, and it surged forth...
Shwip.
...only to find itself absorbed.
With a faint sucking sound reminiscent of a flowing breeze, the inferno vanished into the blond's open palm. It didn't harm him; no, it was almost like he'd...absorbed it somehow. Like that strange golden cloak of his had eaten it.
"W-What the hell?!" '
" Okay...now seriously how overpowered is he, first incredible regeneration second he can move fast third he has a giant a*s fox and controls fire, and now he can absorb attacks " raged Mirko
"...just continue reading," said Phantom with a sigh, and Dabi for the first time did as he was told for the first time without any complaints
' "No one taught you how to control your powers, huh?" The blond man pursed his lips in mild displeasure. "C'mon, that's the most basic of basic. Here." he offered him his hand. "Lemme see your palms."
Toya flinched, remembering his burns. "I don't think that's a good idea.
Naruto scowled. "Hands, young man!"
It was such a parental thing to say; Toya couldn't help himself. He couldn't argue with him.
"Y-Yessir!"
When presented with his burned palms, the man frowned. Calloused hands ran over his injuries; and traced the charred surface of his skin.
"Hmm. Well, nothing I can't fix. Hold still."
Golden light ran across his palms, bringing with it a faint sense of itchiness. Toya found himself flinching, but there was no pain. None at all. As he looked on his wounds mended themselves, the faint scent of cooked skin overpowered by an altogether more pleasant scent. Like the crackling scent of breathtaking smoke. '
"...oh f*ckin God you have to be shi*ing me now he has healing powers I thought he could only heal himself " Once more Mirko raged
"...it's better to continue reading there is no stopping her when she is like that," said Riukiu knowing how her friend acted Dabi nodded at her and continued to read
' "There we go!" Just like that, the blond released him. "All better~!"
"I...you...how?!" Toya grabbed at his sleeve when he tried to rise. "How did you do that?! What's your reasoning for this?!"
Tenko huffed. "Dad doesn't need a reason to help someone. He's a shinobi. It's what he does."
Toya warbled once, a thin reedy sound escaping his teeth.
Damn him. It was too much. He was just too nice...!
Just like that, the walls in his heart crumbled. '
Dabi stopped reading and looked at the others " That was for this chapter... "
