PLEASE REVIEW, IT HELPS! No flames needed, but you're welcomed to try, just give me a moment to get the marshmallows! ^-^
A Few Inventions from the Spirit Lab! (Really my creations…-cue evil laugh-)
Articulation gum: The user gains the ability to speak any language temporally if it is carved into the gum itself and spelled properly. This gum requires a bit of spirit energy. Over time it is possible to gain the ability semi-permanently. The downside is a horrible lingering bitter taste and must be swallowed at exactly the right time otherwise one will speak the language backward. (The same thing will happen if it is spelled incorrectly)
Sprit Box Tracer: A special device that can locate any soul so long as a fragment of the soul itself is available, DNA also counts as a fragment. Able to produce images of a soul's shell. (current or final appearance, unless in limbo)
Healing Seeds: An exclusive Kurama invention and can only be powered by him! Light tan, tiny bean size seeds that heal minor demon injuries while for human injuries it heals drastically. However, overuse can render them useless. Kurama must apply a bit of his healing power for them to work. Side effects may include the taste of dirt, dizziness, confusion, and tiredness.
Demon Healing Seeds: Another exclusive Kurama powered invention item! Coffee bean-like in appearance and color these seeds pack a punch for healing. Made consistently of demon hybrid plants and requires larger amounts of Kurama's healing power to function properly. Side effects may include stinging in areas of healing, and apparently in humans weakens their sense over their emotions (Similar to the effects of drinking alcohol).
Healing Paste: Another one of Kurama's inventions, has the same consistency of Aloe Vera, slime, or green hair gel, but is a duller shade of lime green. This product uses a combination of human and demon world plants and minimal spirit energy. Depending on one's pain tolerance, endurance, and species stinging may range from mild to severe (Typically for humans the pain will be excruciating). This product can be used by anyone who has spirit energy.
To keep in mind (Non-spirit lab-related):
The Anrokku-Isei of pain [ An-roku-Is-hi] (Unlock the power of pain): An evil, rare, powerful, tiny red seed. Used by the demon enemy Aiden against Aisha. The seed forces any dormant abilities to awaken but also awakens the ugliest of irrational emotions. Pain, fear, hate, and anger only allow its host's mental destruction to grow at a faster rate. Side effects vary species to species however include weakness, dizziness, headaches, confusion, vomiting, internal bleeding, burns, consistent bleeding, permanent psychological damage, and death.
Chapter 12: Pain, Explain and Rain Part I
(DAY ONE) 5:02 pm
Third Person POV:
As the silver-haired male wipes some of the spattered blood off his cool cheek, he rushes over to the girl. Just as he smelled earlier, she's bleeding badly, and is clinging to consciousness. Strange as it is, her face now holds a small expression of peace; however, her body is the farthest thing from harmony.
Realizing the female is unsettled due to his demonic form, the fox reverts, and she passes out again. Quickly and carefully Kurama slashes the bindings around her wrists and ankles, then examines her briefly.
As he mildly touches her, both sense the strange tingling wave course through their beings. Kurama is struck by its strangeness but chooses to brush it off and focuses on his task. Aisha's wrists and ankles are hemorrhaging, and her entire body is covered in bruises and gashes. Blood is surging out of her shoulder, and her clothing contains many tears. Shocking as it is, her eyes flicker open and she manages to mutter; "Stay...away…" again in a soft weak voice.
Kurama ponders for a moment how she is still able to speak but decides to slow the bleeding.
"I won't hurt you. I'm here to help, Miss Aisha." He states in a soothing manner.
"The knife…please." She whispers weakly. In first aid scenarios, one isn't supposed to remove an object of impalement unless it gets in the way of transporting a patient to a safer location, in this case, Kurama deems it necessary for removal and he carefully pulls the knife out of her shoulder- her shrill scream echoes in his head.
"I'm sorry, but I have to stop the bleeding." He tells her, and she nods feebly.
The fox boy removes his own black and gray long-sleeved shirt, rips a shred of cloth from it, and tightly ties it around the nasty wound. He uses the rest of the shirt to cover the girl softly, leaving himself clad in a white tank top. Throughout that entire moment, it is clear she's in serious pain and is still freaked out.
"I'm terribly sorry about this, Miss Aisha." He states, "We need to make our escape now- though you are in no condition to move..." The fox boy questions to himself how this human is still even breathing considering the severity of her injuries.
"Y-you don't need to take me..." Aisha utters. "You can come back later..."
"Don't be ridiculous, I can't do that to you." Kurama says with a small smile, then he pulls something out of his pocket. "Here, this might help ease some of the pain."
"What is it...?"
The object is small, a light tan color (almost like a coffee bean) and it is a little moist.
"It's a healing seed, just chew on it slowly."
This small seed was invented by Kurama with help of the Spirit lab back home. These seeds are powered by a small amount of Kurama's healing power and can heal small injuries in demons, but drastically patch up a human's wounds. Side effects may include a similar taste to dirt, dizziness, confusion, and tiredness.
A bit of doubt is laced in her eyes, but she decides that she has nothing to lose and opens her mouth gradually, the redhead pops it in, and she starts sluggishly munching on the dirt tasting seed.
"This tastes… like crap." Aisha states bluntly her feeble voice cracking a bit.
"It isn't meant to be consumed purely for taste." He says back, smiling slightly.
*It's strange, most humans would be completely unconscious if not dead if they sustained injuries like hers...*
Carrying her bridal style, Kurama swiftly runs to his condo in the neighboring town. The living arrangement is in the courtesy of Koenma, who somehow has it paid off in full. For now, they are safe, for no other enemies are trailing them, Kurama thinks to himself as he opens the door to his condo. Aisha has blacked out again, and he carefully lays her on his dark leather couch in his living room.
^These injuries don't appear to be getting better. ^ Youko states as Kurama examines her shoulder, which is still dreadful.
*Her shoulder muscles must have been sliced apart. * Shuichi adds. *It doesn't make sense that she is still bleeding at a rate like this; that one seed should have done the trick; besides I don't think it would be wise to bring her to a hospital just yet...Just imagine the amount of suspicion that would fall upon our situation. *
Reaching into his red mane this time, he fishes out a couple of dark chocolate-colored seeds.
^Ah good choice Shuichi. ^ Youko suddenly says, ^There should not be a need for human doctors if you use those seeds. ^
Kurama ignores the fox and places the seeds in her mouth and using his spirit energy he displaces their shape, and the seeds absorb into her body. These seeds' purpose is to also heal, and to cease some pain but does so at a much faster rate than the other one he gave her earlier. Typically, he wouldn't use this on a human, but considering her dangerous condition he has no choice but to.
Unlike his normal light brown healing seeds, these Demon Healing Seeds look like coffee beans, but are grown from a demon hybrid plant, and requires larger amounts of Kurama's healing power to function properly. The side effects may include stinging in areas that were healed/healing and in humans it weakens their sense over their emotions (Similar to the effects of drinking alcohol).
The swelling of her face, her black eye, and her smaller open gashes diminish. Kurama finds it puzzling that many scars on her wrists remain tattooed.
*They appear to be self-inflicted…*
He tosses the thought aside and quickly begins to work around whatever is left of her shirt. He soon dresses the wound on her shoulder, which finally quits bleeding. Leaving the room, he returns with a damp blue towel. He blushes for a second noticing how developed the girl really is.
^Still at such a tender age, yet such she possesses surprising beauty. ^
*Youko now is not the time to be commenting on her…appearance. *
^Oh, do spare me…By the way, what do you plan to do? Perhaps you should find a way to contact her kin. ^
*As of right now, I think it would be best to postpone that until she awakens. * Kurama concludes. *I will need to assure her; she'll probably be suffering from post-traumatic stress…*
^Hm, I suppose that would be a normal reaction for a human...^
A cellphone screen lights up on the coffee table and once more redhead Kurama's face crops up.
^I am still pondering about how she was able to obtain a photo of you on her cell phone. ^
*I wonder it too, and it does bother me…but now there's nothing we can do but to wait until she rouses. *
∞ ₒ𐐒𐐚ₒₒ𐐒𐐚ₒ 5:15 pm
Soft rain starts cascading its tears down on the world. The gloomy dark sky is not helping, he notices as he closes the blinds.
He enters his warm, simple, clean bedroom. Flickering on a lamp, a white bookcase wanting to hold dozens of untold stories is glowing in one corner. A white desk with a laptop and notebooks are facing a wall by the window. He sighs as he shuts the bedroom blinds. Dozens of boxes are still on the floor by the side of the bed, begging to be opened.
*I will have to finish unpacking later then…*
Although Kurama and Botan entered this world alone, Koenma was able to supply the pair with housing, furnishing, paperwork, and supplies. Once the rest of Team Urameshi arrives, they will be stationed in different locations throughout the city to properly cover more ground and learn more about their enemy.
The fox boy exits the room and enters again, this time cradling the shivering Aisha. Gently he places her on the bed, covering her with a lime-blue blanket. Glancing at the time which reads 5:22 pm, he decides to head over to the restroom, (not before locking the bedroom door). He showers quickly, washing the blood away, and treats his own injuries.
To be continued...
My notes:
This chapter is 7 pages long. Gosh, I have forgotten how time-consuming writing is! Editing alone takes forever but changing and adding new things definitely refreshes things.
Thank you for reading, and please review! ^-^
Rock OUT & Peace ON!
