"HAHAHAHAHAHA!"
Having received the day's sales report, Morgans laughed with joy as he had his feet propped up on his desk.
"The number of copies of our newspapers sold has exploded! We had to triple the number of copies to satisfy the population."
Having one of his newspapers in hand, he looked at the magnificent photo of Enies Lobby on fire, while he said.
"As I have always said, people prefer to buy a newspaper talking about a disaster, rather than a victory for the Navy! We are more interested in what scares us rather than what reassures us. "
Seeing him continue to smile, while she was in his office, Megi quietly whispered to Phoggy.
"Is it true that Black Knights confiscated his den-den mushi, after the pirates managed to escape?"
"Yes! All the photos he took after the pirates declared war on the World Government were sorted, and he was only able to keep the ones the World Government allowed."
Looking at her boss, Megi stated.
"Even if the sales are good, I would have thought that such a thing would have made him furious."
Being able to hear it, Morgans retorted.
"I planned this."
"Huh?" The duo was surprised.
"Since Mugiwara had ordered the burning of the world government flag, I had guessed that Cipher Pol was going to confiscate my den-den mushis, to prevent any compromising photos! That's why I immediately ordered Megi to leave Enies Lobby and come back here! This way she was able to save our first photographs."
"But it was the rest of our photos that were the most important." Phoggy remarked.
"Indeed." Morgans affirmed, unable to stop himself from groaning. "If the World Government had let me go immediately, I could have filled the equivalent of five newspapers with my photos."
However, heaving a sigh, he calmed down, before affirming.
"But at least they had the intelligence to pay for my silence."
Still having the generous check Cipher Pol had given him, Morgans asserted.
"Even if a large part of our photos were confiscated, those that remained were more than enough to increase our sales! And with this money, our financial resources will finally experience a miraculous recovery! But that's not the most important thing ."
Having hung a wanted poster on the wall of his office, Morgans stared at Luffy's face as he said.
"Now we know who to watch out for to make sure we write more exciting articles."
But while Megi and Phoggy nodded, Morgans preferred to say nothing regarding a deal he had made with the Black Knights.
Flashback
"What do you want?" Morgans wondered.
"Zero-san would like information regarding the attack on Ohara." Diethard said. "And he thinks you have an interesting video showing the testimony of a soldier who participated in the attack."
Hearing this, Morgans showed a mocking look, before pretending not to understand.
"I have no idea what you're talking about! Besides, even if I had such a video, why would I give it to Cipher Pol?"
"It is not the Cipher Pol who is asking you this favor." Diethard retorted. "It's Zero who asked you that."
Frowning his brows, Morgans questioned him.
"And what do I gain from it?"
"The right to an exclusive scoop." Diethard affirmed. "Give us a little time and I assure you that the Black Kngihts will be able to give you a scoop that you will never be able to refuse."
End of flashback
Looking thoughtful, Morgans looked towards a den-den mushi, which contained the recording of a Navy soldier who had actually participated in the destruction of Ohara.
Having approached the man when he was drunk, Morgans had no trouble getting him to talk. And three days later, surely having been aware of this, Cipher Pol had made the soldier disappear, whose body had never been found.
This had only been a warning to force Morgans not to reveal anything about Ohara, under penalty of being killed. And because of that, there was no point in recording it. As a result, he could use it to get a much more interesting scoop.
He didn't know what Zero had in mind and why he wanted this recording. However, that wasn't Morgans problem.
"I can't wait to see what they plan to give me in return."
Two days later
Watching the sea-train leave Water-7, Zoro then stared at his yubashiri, which was completely rusted. Shû had really managed to destroy it.
Being with him, Johnny, Yosaku and Menma stared at Zoro, while respecting his silence. If Zoro wanted to continue his journey and progress, he absolutely had to find a new saber equal to or surpassing Yubashiri. Something that wasn't going to be easy.
For his part, being so preoccupied, Johnny was thoughtful. Seeming frustrated, the man remembered what happened at Enies Lobby.
Certainly, he managed to hold back Spandam's group enough to allow Zoro and the others to save Robin. However, having been dominated by Akoya, he was forced to let Menma fight him. Johnny was an adult and yet he was a child who had managed to continue the fight.
And then, Johnny was defeated by Momonga, before finding himself unable to fight against PX-Z.
Long story short, Johnny had once again noticed the huge difference between him and the rest of the crew. And the worst part was that Menma, Vivi, Nami and Usopp had managed to become much more powerful, while Johnny had not felt the slightest change in his own strength.
And because of that, he was forced to make a decision.
Seeming very busy, Sanji went to the kitchen several times, before returning with an entire stock of food. Seeing the cooks going back and forth various times, Gin couldn't help but say.
"I have a huge appetite, but this guy beats all the competition."
"Starting him with food for a day would be the worst punishment for him." Velvet remarked.
"I would even say that he wouldn't survive it." Lucy affirmed.
Looking first at Luffy who was eating with appetite all the food that Sanji brought back, everyone present in the house turned their faces towards the front door, while Kokoro entered in the company of Chomney and Konbe.
"Hello, pirates! How are you today?"
"Hello, Kokoro-san." Sanji greeted her.
However, he grimaced when he saw Yokozuna vainly widening the entrance in order to enter the house.
"I advise you to stay outside, before you destroy everything."
"HAHAHAHAHA! I see that Mugiwara has finally woken up." The mermaid noted, seeing him eating. "It's nice to see him in good shape."
"He's not really awake." Sanji retorted. "It's just that he hates missing a meal."
" Huh ? "
Looking closely at Luffy's face, Kokoro saw a bubble coming out of his nose, while the pirate's eyes were closed. Luffy seemed to be asleep, despite clearing all the plates in front of him.
"Is he eating in his sleep?"
"Exactly." Sanji affirmed.
Unable to stop giggling, Azelma affirmed.
"Luffy-san is really not a man like the others."
"Anyway, the fact that he wakes up is not an emergency." Kokoro assured. "Since your first arrival on this island was five days ago, you will have to wait two or three more days before your log-pose changes course! Isn't that right, Miss Navigatrice?"
However, looking towards Nami, Kokoro saw her wasting away.
"What's happening to him?"
"When we were accused of trying to kill Iceberg, the islanders invaded the hotel where we were staying and took our things." Lucy explained to him. "And given the damage that the Aqua Laguna did, it wouldn't be surprising to know that it all disappeared to the bottom of the water."
"Our business...Mother-in-Law's beautiful mandarin trees." Nami murmured, suffering from severe depression.
"Have no fear." Raynare told her. "Since Lucy entrusted our money to Virgo, we have plenty to buy new supplies."
"IT'S NOT WITH MONEY THAT YOU CAN BUY ME BACK MY PRECIOUS MANDARINE TREES AND THE RARE MEMORIES THAT I HAVE REMAINED FROM MOTHER-IN-LAW." Nami roared.
"If even money doesn't calm Nami down, then it's serious." Bruno remarked, while the other pirates nodded.
"In that case, I come with good news." Kokoro affirmed. "On our way here, we met some people who wanted to give you something back."
" Huh ? "
Two minutes later
Nami found her smile again, while her body cuddled one of her precious tangerine trees.
"They are here! My precious mandarin trees are here."
"Please excuse us." Said one of the men, who had come to bring back the pirates' belongings. "When we tried to capture you, we stole your belongings hoping that would prevent you from leaving the island! And we stored the planes in our warehouse, which was spared by Aqua-Laguna."
"THANK YOU!" Nami shouted. "Now we can leave this island with peace of mind."
"Before we think about leaving, we'll need to get a new ship." Wiper retorted. "Which means that our situation becomes identical again before the arrival of CP9."
"Buying a boat won't be a problem." Raynare assured. "Even without the money the Franky Family stole from us, we still have 800 million left! We have more than enough to pay for a heavily armed battleship."
"But will that be enough?" Bruno asked. "For the moment, we have only completed the easy part of our journey! We must at all costs avoid our new boat being damaged like Merry."
"We haven't been able to find a carpenter willing to accompany us." Lucy remarked. "And knowing that Usopp is no longer with us, the repairs we make will be even worse."
Letting out a sigh, the pirates looked thoughtful, before hearing the front door open again.
"We're back." Chopper announced.
"QAAAA!" Carue added, as he walked with Vivi and Robin.
"Robin-chwan! Vivi-san!" Sanji called, circling around them. "Has this walk made you thirsty? I can make you something refreshing to drink."
"Have no fear." Robin assured him, with a gentle smile.
"I treated the Franky Family's wounds and made sure no one came to bother Robin." Chopper stated, giving a military salute.
"QUA!" Adds Carue, imitating him.
"Excellent work, soldiers."
Turning to Nami, Vivi was surprised to see her tangerine trees again.
"Are our things there?"
"Yes! They have just been given back to us." Nami affirmed. "I'm so happy."
"That's great." Chopper said happily. "I'll be able to get all my books back."
" HELLO, GUYS ! "
Making a noisy and rather strange entrance, Franky invited himself inside the house, in the company of Kiwi and Mozu.
"I'm glad you're all here! I have something important to tell you."
However, he calmed down when he noticed that a few people were missing.
"I spoke a little quickly! Not all of the crew is together."
"Franky, what is this entrance worthy of a mobster?" Raynare asked.
"I came to tell you something important." The cyborg affirmed, sitting down on the ground. "In a country perpetually at war…"
"Have you come to tell us something important or are you starting to give us a geography lesson?" Wiper growled. "Because if that's the case, I'm leaving."
" SHUT UP ! " Shouted Franky. " I don't finished. "
Resuming his story, he told.
"Even if this country is destroyed by bombs, a enormous fire or a tidal wave, there is a gigantic tree in this country that nothing can uproot or kill! Whatever happens, this tree remains planted in the ground and this tree has lived long enough to see many cities disappear to be replaced by other civilizations! Of course, such a tree is rare and, as a result, there are only a very limited number of them in this world. "
"A tree?" Velvet repeated. "Are you making a big show for us over a tree?"
"Do you know what the name of this tree is?" Franky asked, preferring to ignore the demon's words. "They are called Treasure Trees Adam ! And this name is not an exaggeration! Then bowing down to the pirates, he declared.
"The boat I want to build will be made of the same wood as the Oro Jackson: the adam wood! The strongest wood in this world! A wood that can allow any ship to brave all oceans, even in the worst climatic situations! But to prove that this boat is worthy of surpassing those of my master, I absolutely need a group of people crazy enough to want to go to Raftel and return there alive."
Looking at Sanji and the others, he stated.
"I have this precious wood in my possession, and I have already drawn the plans for a fabulous ship! Therefore, as soon as I have finished building it, would you agree to sail and complete your journey with him ? "
"What? You... You want to give us a boat?"
"Absolutely! The most incredible boat of all! And with it, I guarantee you will never need to worry about replacing it! Plus, knowing that I paid for the materials with your money, it makes me seems obvious that it is to you that I must propose this."
Immediately, the pirates shouted with joy.
"Great! We'll all have a new boat."
"200 million berries to get the most incredible ship?" Raynare repeated. "I don't think Iceberg can offer us anything better than that."
"I can't wait for Luffy to wake up to hear that." Chopper said.
For her part, unable to help but snicker, Kokoro assured.
"I'm sure Tom would give anything to see a boat that could surpass his own."
"I know." Franky affirmed, showing a smile. "I will listen to the last advice he gave me and try to do him honor."
But while the pirates were celebrating, Zoro and the others were running at full speed through the city. Seeming worried, they ignored the passers-by who wanted to greet them, and almost pushed several into the water.
"We have to warn Luffy-aniki as soon as possible." Johnny affirmed.
"I knew we should have left here a long time ago." Yosaku shouted.
Growling in displeasure, Zoro retorted.
"To go where? Without a boat and without log-laying, we would never have been able to get anywhere."
"The Navy has already found us." Menma cried. "If it turns out, CP9 is also there to take their revenge."
"I recognized the enemy boat." Johnny affirmed. "It was Garp's."
"Garp, the hero of the Navy?" Yosaku shouted. "If that's the case, we're dead! This guy was known to be one of Roger's worst enemies! He's even more dangerous than CP9."
"For now, let's go tell Luffy and try to come up with a plan." Zoro affirmed.
However, a silhouette appeared in front of the quartet and blocked their path. Then, pointing a huge gun at the spirates, a red-haired woman asked.
" Are you Roronoa Zoro?"
Seeing the Navy cape covering his back, Zoro immediately grabbed his two sabers.
"Who are you? And what do you want from me?"
"What do I want from you? I just want you to help me." The young woman affirmed, smiling at him. "I would like you to tell me where I can find my little brother."
" Huh ? "
Hearing screams coming from outside the building they were in, the rest of the pirates looked out the window.
"There seems to be some commotion."
Then some people screamed.
"THE NAVY IS HERE."
"WHAT?" The others screamed.
Indeed, being a group made up of around a hundred people, Navy soldiers marched in a row, towards the house where my pirates had taken up residence. being among them, an old man with his head hidden under a dog mask asked.
"Is this where Monkay D. Luffy is?"
"Yes, Vice Admiral." A soldier said, giving a military salute. "Do you want the soldiers to go in first?"
"Out of the question." The old man retorted. "I want to be the first to greet my grandson."
Then, approaching one of the walls, he cracked his knuckles, before delivering a powerful punch.
" LUFFFFFFFFFFYYYYYYY ! "
Seeing the old man enter the house, pulverizing the wall, the pirates hastened to point their weapons at him.
"STOP! Stop if you don't want to die."
However, completely ignoring the pirates, the old man moved at incredible speed and found himself in front of Luffy. Having raised his arm in the air, he then closed his fist before violently hitting Luffy's skull.
Still sleeping, Luffy was awakened by the pain this attack caused him. Feeling his head drop, Luffy's jaw then hit the table, which was pulverized. Then, his face hit the floor and created a crater on the ground.
Usually, punches didn't have much effect on Luffy. However, the pirate rolled on the ground, screaming in pain.
" AHHHHHHHHH ! IT HURTS ! IT HURTS ! "
"It's not the pain." The old man retorted. "It's about my love! The love I feel for my grandson."
Freezing, Luffy looked terrified, as he seemed to recognize this old man's voice. Wanting to confirm his fears, the stranger removed his dog mask and presented his face to the pirates.
"I heard you were a bad boy, Luffy." Garp remarked. "But I came here because I know a few people who would like to fight you."
" Gran ... Grandpa ? "
"GRANDPA?" His companions repeated.
Unable to help but step back, Nami declared.
"I can't believe what I just heard! All I know is that man is Garp."
"Can I kill him?" Wiper asked, having his bazooka trained on him. "
"Don't do anything stupid." Sanji ordered him. "In the Navy, Garp is not just anyone! Of course, he is only a vice-admiral! Which means that he has less influence than admirals, such as Aokiji! But yet his strength is so incredible that everyone agreed that he was the most suitable soldier to capture Gol D. Roger."
"So this guy isn't just anyone." Bruno growled. "The Navy decided to take revenge by sending this guy here to capture Luffy?"
"Capture Luffy?" Garp repeated.
Suddenly starting to laugh, the old man retorted.
"I never intended to capture my beloved grandson! Of course, Emma will always be my favorite, but for me, family is sacred."
"Your grandson?" Vivi wondered. "Luffy, is this a joke? One of the strongest soldiers in the Navy... is your grandfather?"
"Yeah." Luffy said. "And be careful! He's even crazier and more angry than people say! He's already tried to kill me thousands of times when I was a kid."
"Don't talk stupid." Garp roared. "Apart from using love to educate you, I have done nothing else."
Crossing his arms, he assured.
"The time I pushed you off the cliff, to force you to climb it! The time I abandoned you in the middle of the forest! And the time I sent you flying into the sky with balloons! All these were gestures of affection on my part to toughen you up."
"ARE YOU CRAZY?" The pirates shouted.
"Now I know why Luffy is so stupid." Raynare remarked.
"With a grandfather like his, Luffy must have been hit hard enough for it to leave some damage to his brain." Gin suggested.
Suddenly, looking furious, Garp roared.
"When you and Ace were little, I tried hard to toughen you up to allow you to become brave soldiers of the Navy! And unlike Emma, you only became common pirates, who only make themselves known through their misdeeds! You are the shame of our family! Yet you kept saying that you wanted to join the Navy when you were little."
"Huh? Anything." Luffy retorted. "I always wanted to be a pirate! You were the one who wanted to force me to become a soldier."
"Don't talk stupid! You're only saying that because of being bamboozled by that damn redhead! I curse the day Shanks came to your village."
"Unlike you, Shanks saved my life." Luffy retorted. "I forbid you to speak ill of him."
"WHAT?" Garp roared, clutching the cool part of his t-shirt. "Say back what you just said to me! How dare you talk to me like that?"
Seeing him about to hit him again, Luffy began to gesticulate, in a vain attempt to escape his grip.
"AHHHHH! I'm so sorry."
"Is it me or is Mugiwara acting strange?" Franky asked, noting that the pirate looked like a simple child.
"I've never seen him be so afraid of anyone." Sanji confessed.
"I think you haven't received enough love from me in a long time." Garp stated, getting ready to punch Luffy.
Hatterene use PHYCHIC.
Surprised, Garp felt his arm freeze.
" Huh ? "
Then, before he had time to react, his own fist hit his face. Somewhat stunned, Garp let go of Luffy who fell to the ground. Then, noticing that his arm was still immobilized, the old man tried to understand what had just happened.
"Why did I hit myself?"
Hatterene use PHYCHIC.
Unable to control his arm, Garp felt his fist hit him repeatedly, causing him to bleed.
"Vice... Vice-Admiral?" His soldiers were surprised.
Suddenly, Garp's entire body began to float above the ground. Then, with a powerful movement, the old man's body flew backwards, before leaving the house, through the hole in the wall that he himself had created.
Unable to do anything but scream, Garp's body passed over his soldiers, before landing on the ground a few meters away.
" WHAAAAAAATTTTT ? " S'apeurèrent les sodlats.
Letting her appendage wrap around Luffy's neck, Haterrene pulled him towards her.
"Hate!" She growled, holding him against her, while strangling him.
" LUFFY ! "
Looking angry, Garp stood up before roaring.
"You trained that ghost to attack your kind grandfather? How dare you?"
Then, turning to two figures, he ordered.
"Do what you want with him."
"Aye!" The duo assured.
