Chapter 11
Reviews:
I got munchies: i KNOW that it's a bit fast. What part of "madness" do you not understand? Sometimes, things go slower than a turtle. Sometimes, things go fast. I simply chose to go the fast route, for a bit.
Previously:
Mirai went straight for the hidden door, and entered the code sequence. The door slid open, revealing a hidden staircase.
There were no lights, so the staircase was in darkness.
Now:
Mirai charged forth, flashlight in hand. Once he reached the bottom, the base was a MESS. it would be more accurate to call it a labyrinth. The people that mirai brought would search for HOURS for eri. However, all they managed to find, were overhaul's men, an empty vault, an destroyed office (the bullets missing) and a destroyed lab (the notes to CREATE those damn bullets destroyed beyond recovery.
The ONLY good thing that they managed to find, was the previous leader of the gang, in a coma and unlikely to wake up.
"Mirai, it looks like we were too late," all might said.
"Looks like it," mirai sadly agreed.
So, the heroes just arrested the members of the shie hassaikai, so it wasn't a TOTAL loss.
Joker's base
As joker took a break from trying to find the right chemical to balance out his latest concoction, he looked over to eri and harley. The two of them were cuddled up together, taking a nap.
Joker smiled, remembering what harley did when he returned with eri.
Flashback
Joker had returned with eri. "Honey, i'm ho~me," joker called out.
"Welcome back, my love," a female voice tinged with insanity said. As the figure, revealed to be harley, came out, she said, "you were gone longer than anticipated, love. Did something happen?" harley asked.
"You could say that, love," joker said, while motioning harley to come closer. After she did so, joker grabbed the back of her head, and gave her a PASSIONATE kiss, enough to make her REALLY want him, if you know what i mean. Joker saw the reaction his kiss caused her, and chuckled. "My love, i want to introduce you to someone," joker said.
That snapped harley out of her lustful haze. "Who?" she asked. She was DESPERATELY hoping that it wasn't a replacement for her. She was snapped out of her worries when she heard joker say, "come on out, little one."
"Little one?" harley wondered. She then saw her.
Eri had come out, shaking in fear of harley.
"EEEEEEEEEEE!" was all you could hear from harley, until she snatched eri up, and began to cuddle her. "Where did you find this adorable little girl, joker?"
"The meeting i attended," joker said. "After some stuff happened, i ended up killing this guy with a bird-beak mask. After i killed him, the little girl in your arms just STARED at him. After i threatened them to reschedule, i found out that the guy i just killed was treating her very badly. So, i simply gave her a plushie unicorn, and offered her to come home with me," joker explained.
"Oh, you poor thing," harley said with sadness. "You shouldn't have had to suffer," harley claimed.
Eri sniffled at that. Both harley AND joker noticed.
"It's alright, little one," joker began.
"If you want to cry, go ahead," harley finished.
With that, eri began to cry.
It took her about 10 minutes to finish, but she fell asleep after she finished.
Flashback end
I nearly have the right mixture before the cure is made, and perfected, joker thought.
"Puddin', what are you doing over there?" harley asked.
That's when it hit joker, he STILL hadn't explained the promise he had made to eri.
"On the way back here, i had asked eri if she likes her quirk. She answered 'no', so i offered to destroy it for her, but i warned her that it would take a lot of trial and error. Now, i nearly have it. I just need to figure out what i'm missing," joker explained.
"What about those red bullets you took from that base? Could THEY be the key?" harley asked.
Joker froze at that. "I CANNOT BELIEVE THAT I NEVER THOUGHT OF THAT, ARGH!" joker yelled, only to calm down when harley kissed him.
"Calm down, love," harley said in a loving voice. You wouldn't want to wake eri, now would you?" she asked.
"No, love, i wouldn't," joker replied. "I'm supposed to be a chemistry and technical genius, yet it NEVER occurred to me to try that, which is WHY i yelled that; i was frustrated with myself for not having thought of it," joker explained.
"It happens to the best of us, love," harley explained in a loving voice.
"Thank you for that, love," joker said. "Now i just HAVE to try it, so i can cure her," joker exclaimed.
With that, joker grabbed one of the red bullets, gently pried it open, then poured the contents into the chemicals that he had prepared.
"Now i just need to test it," joker muttered. "I have the PERFECT idea to test it out, love," joker exclaimed.
"Oh~?" harley asked.
With the chosen target
The chosen target was patrolling the area. However, after he got to an area where nobody tends to go, he felt a sting on the back of his neck.
He didn't even get to make a sound, as he collapsed onto the ground.
"He'll be out like a light, until night, HAHAHAHA"
And so, after A LOT of help, the target was loaded into the moving van that was brought with them.
Basement of joker's hideout
"Ugh, what the hell HAPPENED to me?" the target groaned, as he was groggy. "The last thing i remember was that i was patrolling, i felt a sting in my neck, then nothing."
WELCOME, CHOSEN TEST SUBJECT, TO THE BASEMENT OF JOKER LAND, HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA," a voice coming from a tv said.
The chosen test subject had enough. "WHERE AM I, AND WHERE ARE YOU, YOU COWARD?!" the subject yelled out in anger.
"DID YOU NOT LISTEN TO THE INTRODUCTION? THE FIRST QUESTION WAS ALREADY ANSWERED," the voice retorted. "AS FOR WHERE I AM, I'M CURRENTLY IN MY OFFICE, AS I HAVE NO IDEA IF THE DRUG WILL WORK AS INTENDED," the voice said.
The way that the voice said 'no idea if the drug will work as intended' caught the hero's attention.
"Drug?" the hero asked. "What drug?"
"WHY, THE DRUG TO DESTROY YOUR QUIRK, OF COURSE," the chuckled out, as the hero turned pale. "I NEARLY HAD IT PERFECT, TOO, BUT I DIDN'T KNOW WHAT WAS WRONG. UNTIL MY GIRLFRIEND POINTED OUT SOMETHING RATHER OBVIOUS, WHICH I AM GRATEFUL FOR. AS IT MAKES ME ONE STEP CLOSER TO FULFILLING MY PROMISE TO A LITTLE GIRL. AND, UNLIKE ALL MIGHT, I KEEP MY PROMISES," the voice SNARLED at the end.
The hero began to try to use his quirk to escape. His quirk worked, but he was unable to move, AT ALL.
"DON'T BOTHER TRYING TO ESCAPE. EVERYTHING IN THAT ROOM IS MADE OF A SPECIAL BLEND OF TITANIUM AND TUNGSTEN, TO DEAL WITH STRENGTH QUIRKS, FIRE QUIRKS AND ICE QUIRKS," the voice said. "NOW, TIME TO BEGIN THE EXPERIMENT," they called out with glee.
As soon as the voice said that, the hero felt a prick on the side of his neck, right where the major artery was. Despite the warning that his quirk and strength would not help him escape, he still attempted to use them. Despite his BEST efforts, the metal would not melt, and didn't even creak, from the amount of strength and fire that the hero used.
Suddenly, the hero's fire quirk, began to fade, much to the hero's shock. Once it was gone (and the chemicals faded from the bloodstream, so as to be untraceable and unable to be reversed), the voice did something that even the now former hero did not expect, the voice LAUGHED.
"HA HA HA HA HA HA HA HA, LOOKS LIKE IT WORKS, MY DEAR. LOOK, ERI, THAT RIGHT THERE IS A MONSTER THAT WOULD ABUSE HIS FAMILY, BUT WAS UNABLE TO BE PUNISHED, DUE TO HIS THEN STATUS AS ONE OF THE TOP THREE HEROES IN JAPAN. ISN'T THAT RIGHT, ENDEAVOR?!"
The former pro, revealed to be endeavor, shouted "HOW THE HELL DO YOU KNOW THAT?!"
"IT'S RATHER SIMPLE. YOU LEFT A PRETTY OBVIOUS TRAIL TO FOLLOW, FOR THOSE THAT KNOW HOW TO LOOK, ENJI TODOROKI!" the voice said.
At that, enji TRIED to use his quirk, but it wouldn't come, for some reason.
"AWW, WHAT'S THE MATTER, ENJI, ARE YOU ANGRY? ARE YOU UNABLE TO USE YOUR QUIRK?" the voice asked. "THE REASON YOU CAN'T USE YOUR QUIRK ANYMORE IS QUITE SIMPLE: YOUR HELLFLAME QUIRK, THE SOURCE OF YOUR 'GREATNESS', WAS DESTROYED! HA HA HA HA!"
Enji looked broken at that revelation.
"NOW YOU ARE NO BETTER THAN A MUSCULAR QUIRKLESS PERSON! GO ON AND HAVE SOME FUN, MY DEAR!" the voice said, before the tv cut off.
Suddenly, a door opened in front of enji, and a girl no older than 18 appeared. She was wearing a seductive nurse's outfit, black and white make-up and was carrying a rather large hammer.
"You know, enji, this is what i like to call karma, for everything that you did to your 'family'." the girl said. She then smirked. "It wasn't really all that difficult for my puddin' to find out EVERYTHING that you EVER did wrong. It's a good thing that puddin' turned off the tv. Wouldn't want eri to be scarred by what i'm gonna do to you, you monster." harley said.
