Chapter 3 The Australian Qualifiers Block B
"Now who's ready for more Beyblade"
The crowd cheered loudly; their roar flooded the stadium.
"That's the spirit because it's now time for Block B's opening round"
"Let's meet the competitors, first up is the beautiful but deadly Sienna Larson"
A sixteen-year-old girl whose attire consisted of a blue denim jacket over a red t-shirt with a cobra on it, a black belt, blue jeans and metallic high-top Converses made her way to the stadium and waited patiently there. She was a beautiful girl with long thick waist length black and rose gold hair that was pulled over her ears with an embellished blue hairband in the middle, creamy white skin and the most amazing amber gold eyes, this was Sienna Larson.
"Now, let's meet her opponent, he's the crazy but posh Walter Brown"
Walter Brown was a fourteen-year-old boy, he had tidy black hair and was wearing a purple tuxedo, shiny black formal shoes and a white and pink polka dot bow tie.
Sienna looked over at her opponent, she rolled her eyes at him. Walter looked at Sienna, studying her with amorous intentions.
"Sienna, you're so beautiful, will you go out with me?"
"I'm not here to date, I'm here to battle, so get ready"
"With her Tropical Sumatrana beyblade, Sienna is one tough customer"
"Walter Brown may be a softy but he's not to be underestimated especially with his Lepus bit beast's Lightning Charge attack"
"Let's see what stadium our beybladers will battle in"
In seconds, the stadium emerged from below, it looked exactly like Palm Cove beach, with palm trees in the middle and crystal blue water on the far side.
Sienna removed her launcher and ripcord from her belt, before taking her beyblade from the container on the sleeve of her jacket. She stood still, ready to launch. Walter also followed procedures, doing the same.
"3,2,1, let it rip"
Walter launched first, while Sienna promptly followed suit, her jet black beyblade hit the sand.
"Go, Tropical Sumatrana"
"Lepus, attack"
Sienna's black beyblade shot forward, Walter's pink one slammed into it.
"Hold him, Tropical Sumatrana"
"Keep fighting"
"Now slam"
Tropical Sumatrana slammed Lepus from the side, sending it flying through the air.
"Lepus, no"
"You're finished, softy"
"Not if I can help it, Lepus, nose dive attack"
Lepus shot down from above at intense speed.
"Dodge now, Tropical Sumatrana"
Tropical Sumatrana shot away, Lepus crashed to the ground, though it was still spinning.
"I'm still in the game"
"We'll see about that"
"Indeed, we will, Lepus, attack"
"Nice try, softy, now try this, Tropical Sumatrana, attack now"
Tropical Sumatrana shot forward, slamming Lepus into a palm tree, pinning it there.
"Lepus, slam back"
"Back away, Tropical Sumatrana"
Just as Lepus was about to strike back, Tropical Sumatrana backed off.
"What's going on here"
"Watch carefully"
"Why"
"Tropical Sumatrana, finish him with your Acidic Blast attack"
A huge Equatorial Spitting Cobra appeared; it shot a powerful blast of orange acid from its mouth. The acid blinded Walter's hare bit beast and it faltered and wobbled. With one more slam, Tropical Sumatrana sent Lepus out of the stadium in pieces.
Walter looked in horror at his shattered beyblade, he fell on his knees, sobbing as he picked up the pieces of his failed challenge.
Tropical Sumatrana returned to Sienna's open hand, she raised her arm in victory.
"Here is your winner, Sienna"
"Good battle, Walter" said Sienna, as she shook Walter's hand.
"Thank you very much, Sienna"
Sienna put her Beyblade and launcher away, before walking purposefully back to the Block B sky box.
"That Sienna didn't seem too friendly," said Max
"Don't judge her before you get to know her, at least she's a good sport" Kai added.
"Walter was hopeless, but Sienna was awesome" Daichi chipped in.
"If Sienna makes the team, I'd really love to battle her," said Tyson.
"I would as well, she seems like a great blader" Ray replied.
"She definitely beat Walter efficiently" Kenny added.
"Ah so Sienna beat the softy" said Mr. Coupe
"She did it well"
"Daryl, she might be entering the championships, so be careful"
"Our illegal beyblades will knock her out" Taylor added.
"Good point"
Before long, DJ Jazzman announced the next beybladers for Block B.
"Next up for Block B is Ella Walters"
Ella Walters was a sixteen-year-old girl with fair skin, brown eyes and long wavy teal hair that reached her lower back. She was wearing a half sleeved blue t-shirt with the number ninety-two on the front over black jeggings and light blue and white Hi-tec trainers.
"Ella is one unpredictable beyblader, with her Aqua Dolphin beyblade, who knows what she can do
"Her opponent Louis can also pack some punch with his Moschatus bit beast's Diamond Storm attack!"
Louis Miller was a slim, dark haired, clean shaven seventeen-year-old boy with brown eyes and fair skin. He was neatly dressed in a full sleeved shirt belt, jeans and Adidas trainers.
"Let's unveil the stadium"
The floor split in two halves, unveiling a dish with the Sydney Harbour Bridge in the middle. As well as the bridge, there was a harbour like setting around it.
"3,2,1, let it rip"
Ella and Louis launched their Beyblades into the stadium, the two blades landed on the road surrounding the bridge. Ella knew she had the advantage, if she hit the water, she would be able to win due to her bit beast being a natural water spirit.
"Aqua Dolphin, attack!"
"Go, Moschatus!"
Louis' black beyblade shot towards Ella's aqua one and the two collided, sparks flew as the blades connected.
"Push it back, Aqua Dolphin!"
Aqua Dolphin shoved Moschatus off, Ella grinned, she now had an opening.
"Aqua Dolphin, slam!"
"Counterattack, Moschatus!"
As Aqua Dolphin went into attack, it was met by Moschatus and the two blades locked horns like bulls fighting.
"Aqua Dolphin, multi slam!"
With fierce velocity, Aqua Dolphin hit Moschatus with rough, quick slams that knocked it back time after time.
"No way!"
"Attack, Aqua Dolphin!"
Ella's blade heeded her commands and it hit Louis's blade harder with every blow.
"Keep it up!"
Aqua Dolphin maintained its ferocious offensive, it slashed faster and faster each time.
"Moschatus, attack!"
As if a switch flipped, Louis snatched the momentum from Ella. Moschatus viciously attacked Aqua Dolphin, it struck with violent and heavy blows. Ella's heart thumped hard and her eyes were wide with fear.
"Moschatus, Diamond Storm!"
A huge musk ox that was clad in diamond and ruby armour appeared, it bellowed and grunted so loud the stadium shook. Then blue energy formed round the musk ox's armour, the energy turned into diamonds which flew at Aqua Dolphin. The diamonds slashed and smacked Aqua Dolphin, a splash rang out in the water below but Ella was grinning.
"What are you smiling about?"
"Well, mate, as I told you before my bit beast is water spirit so its in its element."
"No way."
"Yes way."
"So, Ella, I've helped you win?"
"Aqua Dolphin, Thunder Bubble Strike!"
A bottlenose dolphin in steel and sapphire armour appeared, it leaped out from the water. The dolphin opened its mouth and shot a blast of blue lightning and bubbles out of it.
Aqua Dolphin spun on the road before returning to Ella's open hand. Louis miserably slunk away. Ella drew herself up, before returning to the other Block B beybladers.
"Ella wins"
With Ella now back in the red sky box, DJ Jazzman announced the next combatants.
"Third up for Block B is the ever incalculable George Osborne"
An overweight brown haired sixteen-year-old boy named George Osborne trundled up to one side. George Osborne sported a green hoody, belt, black jeans and green Nike Air Max Ivo trainers.
"His opponent is none other than L.A.'s performing arts queen Victoria Vega!"
Tyson was shocked to hear that name; his older cousin was competing in the preliminaries.
"Tori's competing as well, this is nuts."
"Who's Tori?"
"My cousin."
"My dad's older brother's daughter."
"Oh right."
Victoria Vega was a beautiful seventeen-year-old girl with long wavy equally parted dark brown hair that stopped at the middle of her back, fair skin and deep brown eyes. Her attire consisted of a cropped cream jacket over a half-sleeved pink t-shirt with a rose on it, belt, blue jeans and knee high light brown boots.
"Let's now see what stadium these two will face off in"
A coral reef like dish with a lush green island in the middle appeared from the ground.
"How clever, a green island dish"
"3,2,1, Let it Rip"
Upon hearing that, George and Victoria launched their beyblades onto the island.
"Melonouca, attack!"
"Go, Skyblazer!"
George's black beyblade and Victoria's blue one clashed hard, sparks flew as the metal collided.
"Give me everything you've got!"
"With pleasure!"
"Get her, Melonouca!"
"Skyblazer, attack now!"
Skyblazer heeded Victoria's command, it slashed Melonouca with a hard blow.
"Keep it up!"
With fierce blows, Skyblazer maintained its brutal offensive, it struck with swift and heavy blows.
"Push it back now, Melonouca!"
The door was slammed on Victoria's attack as Melonouca mounted hard blows on Skyblazer.
"Slam now!"
Skyblazer was shoved away authoritatively, trees fell as it was knocked back across the island. Victoria's eyes were as wide as plates, she couldn't believe what had happened.
"Tori, don't worry, Skyblazer is a phoenix, a fire spirit so you can hit a surprise attack!"
Looking up with ears pricked, Victoria saw Tyson and heard his assurance.
"Tyson?"
"Right here, Tori!"
"Thanks for the advice, I'll make sure I scorch him good!"
"Melonouca, finish her off!"
"You're welcome to try!"
"Melonouca, Bamboo Barrage!"
A huge giant panda appeared and roared; it threw a barrage of bamboo with its paws. George's blade slammed Skyblazer sky high. A triumphant smirk lined George's face, thoughts of victory filled his mind. At the same time, Victoria was also grinning, Tyson's words had hit home, she bided her time and waited for the right moment, lest her effort be in vain.
While George wallowed in his apparent victory, he took no notice of Skyblazer perched on a tree.
Smiling, Victoria sprung her trap.
"Skyblazer, Sapphire Inferno!"
As the words rolled off of Victoria's tongue, a huge blue phoenix wearing silver and blue armour on its head, body and wings appeared screaming and shot down. Sapphire blue flames encased the beautiful bird as it dived, Victoria's beyblade was encased in flames and it slammed Melonouca out of the stadium. Skyblazer returned to Victoria's open hand.
"The winner of this match, Victoria Vega!"
"What an upset, George had the match won, but Victoria snatched victory away!"
"Nice job, Tori!"
"Thanks, Tyson!"
In seconds, two more beybladers came and took their positions at opposite ends of the dish.
"First up for round four of Block B is Wilhelmina Jackson"
"Wilhelmina is the cousin of F-Dynasty's own Raul and Julia Fernandez, with her Ice Pegasus, she may freeze the competition"
A seventeen-year-old girl with long blue and white hair that was falling to her hips, fair skin and green eyes stepped up. She was neatly dressed in a denim jacket over a sparkly blue top, belt, a jean skirt that stopped just above her knees and calf high black boots. A cowboy hat was seated on her head.
"Her opponent is none other than France's own basketball star Jacques De Metz"
Jacques De Metz, a seventeen-year-old boy with a brown mohawk and black eyes, faced Wilhelmina. He was dressed in his usual basketball Jersey and shorts with blue and white trainers.
"Beybladers, get ready"
"Let's see the dish our brave beybladers will fight in"
The floor split open to reveal the dish, it was a stone bridge that went in a straight line from one side to the other.
"The Bash'em stadium looks simple, but looks can be deceiving because first off the bladers will battle on the bridge and second it's a battle of pure skill"
"3,2,1, Let it Rip"
Wilhelmina and Jacques launched their beyblades onto the bridge, they shot towards each other.
"Attack, Ice Pegasus"
"Counter, Flesh Horn"
Wilhelmina's dark blue Beyblade slammed ferociously into Jacques' red one.
"Hold him"
"Push him back"
Ice Pegasus and Flesh Horn were locked together, each trying to push the other back.
"Flesh Horn, attack, Roaring Bull Take Down"
A huge Carnotaurus appeared, roaring loudly before charging forwards.
"Oh no, I can't dodge and I can't hide, looks like I'm just going to have to attack back, so here goes, Ice Pegasus, Blizzard Spectrum Blast"
A beautiful Pegasus appeared, whinnying. Its eyes glowed and a stream of rainbow coloured aura, surrounded by a white blizzard shot from its mouth, striking the Carnotaurus squarely, freezing it.
"No way, Flesh Horn, Volcano Mirage" Jacques gasped.
"What the heck"
Flesh Horn's eyes glowed red and the ice melted away, the enraged Carnotaurus roared furiously.
"What an extraordinary comeback by Jacques, Flesh Horn is freed"
"Now go, Flesh Horn, Volcano Flame Blast"
A blast of molten fire shot from the Carnotaurus' mouth.
"Ice Pegasus, Blazing Ball Frost Burn"
A purple and orange ball of energy shot from Ice Pegasus's mouth. The two attacks collided in a stalemate and the two blades grinded each other hard, causing a great flash of light to blind the audience.
"What a cataclysmic attack, I can't see for this light"
"Who won"
As the light cleared, Wilhelmina's beyblade was broken, while Jacques's was spinning.
Flesh Horn returned to Jacques's hand, while Wilhelmina sobbed as she picked up the shattered pieces of Ice Pegasus and sauntered back to the red sky box, her head down so her tears couldn't be seen.
"Jacques wins and will be partaking in the gauntlet"
"Now four out of five are ready for the gauntlet"
"That Jacques must have been very good if he beat Wilhelmina"
"Keep in mind, Tyson, that Wilhelmina also had Jacques on the ropes twice"
"Yeah, but, Kai, it's not like she won"
"I know that but she put up a valiant fight"
"It's just too bad she won't get to the gauntlet"
"Yeah, it would have been interesting, not that she'd have won"
"Careful what you say, Tyson because first, you've never faced her and second that's a hurtful thing to say"
"Now it's time for the last battle before the deciding gauntlet"
"I can't believe where near the end of Block B"
"First up for this last battle is the Spain's top bull man, Santiago Gonzalez"
"Santiago is one tough customer, his Spartacus bit beast is one angry bull, you mess with the bull, you get the horns"
Santiago Gonzalez was seventeen-years-old, he was dressed like a matador and his rapier was attached to his costume.
"His opponent is the wild west beauty Miley Stewart, her bit beast Caballus is the western warrior of the desert!"
Santiago didn't have long to wait before Miley Stewart arrived. She was sixteen-years-old and beautiful, slim with a heart shaped face, amazing blue eyes and long straight brown hair that fell to the middle of her back. She was wearing a plaid blouse over a jean skirt that reached her knees and brown high heeled boots. She walked confidently to the platform and met Santiago there.
The ground opened and revealed a vast desert like area, laden with thorn bushes and fake spiny desert monitors.
"3,2,1, Let it Rip"
Santiago and Miley launched their beyblades onto the sandy outback.
"Spartacus, attack"
"Go, Caballus"
Santiago's gold beyblade slammed into Miley's red one, they both switched sides as they connected.
"Caballus, multi slam now!"
Heeding Miley's command, Caballus hit Spartacus, it struck with multiple quick blows.
"That's the way, Caballus, keep it up!"
Seconds later, Caballus was mounting offence, slashing Spartacus left, right and centre.
"Attack, Caballus!"
Caballus mounted fierce offence, it struck hard and shoved Spartacus back several times.
"That's it, Caballus, slam now!"
With a single slam, Caballus pushed Spartacus back with authority.
"Keep going, Caballus, full force attack!"
"Spartacus, full power attack!"
The door was slammed on Miley's attack, Spartacus was now heeding Santiago's command, slashing Caballus backwards with heavy blows. A look of fear crossed Miley's face and her eyes widened.
"Spartacus, attack now!"
With a single slam, Spartacus slammed Caballus away.
"Oh no!"
"Keep on the attack, Spartacus, multi slam now!"
Spartacus was now viciously attacking Caballus, hitting with brutal blows and ferocious power.
"That's the ticket, Spartacus, finish her off now!"
Miley's eyes blazed with fury, she dug deep inside her and summoned her beyblading spirit.
"Caballus, full power, Scorching Shaker!"
A huge brown mustang appeared, it whinnied loudly and reared up. The mustang slammed its front hooves on the floor, raging fire surrounded Miley's blade. The earth shook and blazing fire ripped towards Spartacus, sending it flying backwards into the air.
"No way, Spartacus, counterattack with Blue Lightning Destruction!"
A massive bull appeared, it snorted and blue lightning shot out of its horns. Blue lightning encased Santiago's blade and the two attacks collided. Soon, Caballus stopped and broke in two, Spartacus returned to Santiago's hand. Miley fell to her knees and gazed at her broken beyblade, tears flowed from her eyes as she held its remains.
"Santiago is the winner"
Santiago walked over to the distressed Miley, he reached out his hand and pulled her to her feet. Miley was shocked at this gentlemanliness but pleased all the same.
"You battled really well today."
"But, I lost."
"You didn't lose, Miley, you gave it your all and that makes you a winner in my heart."
Miley's heart skipped a beat upon hearing this. Although she had lost, she couldn't help wondering if she had found true love.
"Thanks, Santiago, I love you."
"I love you too, Miley."
Miley allowed herself to be pulled into Santiago's arms, he hugged her, stroked her hair and wiped her sad tears. Soon, the two reluctantly separated, with Miley returning to the stands to watch Santiago battle in the gauntlet.
"Now all five winners must assemble for the gauntlet"
Upon hearing this, Sienna, Ella, Victoria and Jacques returned to the stadium where Santiago was standing. Now that the five winners were present, the gauntlet was prepared.
"It's now time for the deciding gauntlet to determine the second representative of the Australian team"
"We already have Xavier but who's going to join him"
"Let's ready the stadium, and then we'll see"
In a trice the ground split open, before revealing a vast arctic like environment, that was laden with woolly mammoths and rhinos along with beautiful ice terrain and glaciers.
"3,2,1, let it rip"
The five winners launched their beyblades onto the ice terrain.
"The second spot's mine, go, Flesh Horn"
Jacques' beyblade shot forwards like a jet.
"Oh yeah, prepare to be poisoned, go for it, Tropical Sumatrana"
Tropical Sumatrana responded to Sienna's command and slammed Flesh Horn head on.
"I'm taking the second spot, attack, Aqua Dolphin"
Ella's beyblade moved forward, slamming Flesh Horn and Tropical Sumatrana.
"Go, Skyblazer, let's get that second spot"
Skyblazer answered Victoria's command, it zoomed into the fray.
"Attack, Spartacus"
"Flesh Horn, Roaring Bull Take Down"
The huge carnotaurus appeared, roaring loudly and charging towards Caballus. Jacques' beyblade slammed Spartacus into the air.
"No way"
"'Fraid so, finish him off with Volcano Flame Blast"
A powerful blast of molten fire shot from the Carnotaurus' mouth, while Flesh Horn's beyblade, now on fire, slammed Spartacus out of the stadium in pieces.
"Hookydyna, Santiago's out already"
"Even though he battled well, he couldn't win"
Santiago scooped up the pieces of Spartacus and sauntered away. However, Miley rushed down and threw her arms round his neck. Santiago wrapped his arms round her waist.
"I'm so proud of you for giving everything you've got, Santiago, that's why you're my boy and I love you."
"Miley, you battled so well today and I'm proud of you, you may have lost but its your determination and heart that really counts and I love you too."
Santiago and Miley hugged for a long time, they linked arms and went to the stands to watch the others clash.
"This spot is mine" snarled Victoria. "Skyblazer, Sapphire Inferno!"
"We'll see about that, Vega. Ella retorted. "Aqua Dolphin, Thunder Bubble Strike"
The blue phoenix with the helmet appeared with a shriek and the bottlenose dolphin with steel armour appeared as well. Instantly, the two bit beasts struck each other in a stalemate. After the dust settled, Aqua Dolphin was lying motionless on its side.
Ella picked Aqua Dolphin up and dragged herself off, sulking to herself.
"Whoa, Ella is out, Victoria eliminated her quickly"
"Victoria might be a valuable member of the Australian team if she makes the cut"
"Victoria, neither of us can win while Jacques is still in this battle, so what do say we work together and eliminate him"
"Sounds like a plan, Sienna"
"Right, you hit Flesh Horn with Sapphire Inferno and I'll wrap it up with Acidic Blast"
"Good plan"
"Did I hear what I think I just heard, are Sienna and Victoria teaming up"
"By the looks of things, they certainly are"
"But how long will their truce last"
"Skyblazer, Sapphire Inferno!"
"Nice try, Flesh Horn, Roaring Bull Take Down"
The Carnotaurus roared and charged, its feet thundered across the arena. At that precise moment, the phoenix appeared, with a screech and it shot down in a blue blaze. It slammed the Carnotaurus squarely, sending Jacques' Beyblade spinning round in the opposite direction.
"Now, Sienna"
"Go, Tropical Sumatrana, Acidic Blast"
The black spitting cobra appeared, its eyes were glinting and it shot a powerful stream of venom which struck the Carnotaurus squarely in the eyes, before slamming Flesh Horn clear out of the stadium.
Jacques picked up his beyblade, before shaking hands with Sienna and Victoria.
"Now that Jacques is out of the picture, our alliance is over, Victoria"
"You said it, Sienna, so now you're my worst enemy"
"The same goes for you, Victoria"
"Skyblazer, attack"
"Go, Tropical Sumatrana"
Skyblazer and Tropical Sumatrana slammed ferociously into one another.
"Slam, Skyblazer"
Skyblazer slammed Tropical Sumatrana back hard, sending it into the icy glacier.
"Nice try, Tropical Sumatrana, get out of the ice and multi slam"
Tropical Sumatrana broke free from the ice, shooting towards Lomgimanus and slamming into it viciously.
"Skyblazer, counterattack"
Skyblazer returned slamming Tropical Sumatrana with equal intensity.
"Only one of us is going to win here, Sienna and it looks like it will be me"
"That's what you think, Victoria, I'm ready when you are so give it your best shot"
"With pleasure, Skyblazer, Sapphire Inferno"
Victoria's beyblade shot forward, the blue phoenix reappeared and prepared to strike.
"Perfect, get in range"
"What's going on here"
"Watch and learn, Tropical Sumatrana, Acidic Blast"
The cobra also appeared, before a stream of venom shot from its mouth, blinding the phoenix.
"No"
"Yes, now finish her off"
Tropical Sumatrana slammed Skyblazer hard, sending it flying through the air. Victoria watched in horror, as her beyblade crashed to the ground at her feet.
"The second representative of the Australian team is Sienna Larson"
Tropical Sumatrana returned to Sienna's open hand, she raised her arm in victory, before shaking hands with Victoria.
"I enjoyed battling against you, Victoria, let's do it again sometime"
"Sure thing, Sienna, good luck being a representative"
"Thanks"
"What a show of good sportsmanship by Sienna, but let's see how the other teams deal with her in the championships"
Sienna walked up to the winners' sky box, where she joined Xavier.
"Congratulations on making the team"
"Same goes for you"
"I'm Xavier"
"I'm Sienna"
"Lovely to meet you, Sienna"
"Likewise, Xavier"
"I wasn't expecting Sienna to win, but she surprised me"
"Tyson, she's a good blader, so we'd best be careful in the championships"
"It's not like I'm scared of her, but I'll still keep my guard up"
"She's definitely a good sport"
"I know, Max, but she'll prove to be a tough customer"
"You got that right, Ray, but we'll have to see how she fares in the championship"
"Indeed, we will"
"Ah so Sienna makes the team"
"She has done, Mr. Coupe"
"Well, she might face off against us"
"She might"
"Our illegal Beyblades shouldn't be a problem against her"
"Well said, Chinh"
