The World Championships

Chapter 40 Leaving For Vienna

The next morning at quarter past eight, all twelve competing teams were in the hotel lobby. They had all packed their suitcases and were about to get into the taxis and leave for the airport. One by one all twelve teams were in the taxis which drove away slowly.

"Our flight is at ten o clock so we'll need to be at the gate for quarter to."

"What airline are we going on?"

"Wizz Air."

"No way their food is awful."

"Tyson, there's no point complaining, at least we're still in the tournament."

"True that, chief, let's just hope we win against the Blitzkrieg Boyz!"

"I'm sure we will."

"Do you know what flight we're on?"

"Wizz Air Flight 2886."

"Brilliant."

The drive to the airport was long and boring, plenty of traffic filled the roads and made the journey that bit longer. However, everyone enjoyed taking in the many different sites that they had seen in Athens.

"It's been quite a tournament so far."

"I know it's been both fun and challenging."

"The Blitzkrieg Boyz are on a real winning streak at the moment but how long will it last?"

"That is a question in itself."

"Especially judging by Tala's reluctance to face his girlfriend."

"I know, neither of them wanted to face each other."

An hour later, all twelve teams were at the airport and had disembarked the taxis. The air was alive with the thunder of aeroplanes taking off and landing. A British Airways Jumbo Jet roared overhead like a lion.

"Well, here we are, everyone."

"Off to Vienna now."

"Let's go in."

The G-Revolutions hauled their cases and hand luggage out of the car, then with their cases in hand, they made their way into Athens International airport, which was packed with people who were leaving and arriving.

"Everyone, there's not a lot of time, so we need to take last minute toilet breaks and hand out the passports and boarding passes."

"Sure thing, chief."

Quick as lightning, the G-Revolutions rushed to the toilets and when everyone was back Kenny handed out the passports. After the passports were handed out an announcement was heard.

"All those who are travelling on Wizz Air Flight 2886 to Vienna, Austria, make your way to the departure lounge right now."

"That's our cue."

"About time."

"I can't wait to be in the air."

"Whatever."

The G-Revolutions quickly went to the departure lounge and sat down. They were waiting to hear the command to board.

"Wizz Air Flight 2886 now boarding."

As soon as they had heard this, the G-Revolutions stood up and made their way down the tunnel and into a large and impressive Wizz Air Boeing 737. Compared to the EasyJet plane they had been in previously, this Wizz Air plane looked so much more professional.

In the plane, the G-Revolutions found their seats and sat down in their assigned row. The seats were definitely just right, they were neither too hard nor too soft and complete with reclining mode as well as a place to put belongings safely.

"Good morning, everybody, and welcome to Wizz Air Flight 2886 from Athens to Vienna. We are first in line for take-off and we shall be in the air shortly. We ask that you please fasten your seatbelts at this time and secure all baggage underneath your seat or in the overhead compartments. We also ask that your seats and table trays are in the upright position for take-off. Please turn off all personal electronic devices, including laptops and cell phones. Smoking is prohibited for the duration of the flight. Thank you for choosing Wizz Air. Enjoy your flight". Said the captain.

Wizz Air Flight 2886 taxied down the runway and roared up into the beautiful blue sky, the plane's wheels were tucked in as it reached the sky. Athens was completely full of hustle and bustle, totally different from how it looked during the night.

"This is your captain speaking, we shall be flying for two hours and twenty minutes before we arrive in Vienna, I wish you a relaxing, enjoyable and pleasant flight."

After the captain's announcements were finished, the G-Revolutions relaxed in their own ways, either listening to music, reading or watching movies. Tyson had decided to watch a movie called The Nun, as he reclined his chair and lay back comfortably.
