The World Championships
Chapter 41 A Diversion
At exactly twenty past twelve, all twelve aeroplanes had touched down and parked at Vienna International Airport. The planes were then towed to the terminal where the passengers disembarked through the long tunnels. Just like Austria, Vienna's skies were warm, blue, sunny and laden with fluffy white clouds.
"Good afternoon, everybody, we are now in Vienna, thank you for flying with Wizz Air and we look forward to flying with you again soon."
The G-Revolutions stood up, and made their way down the exit tunnel and into the airport. Vienna's airport was similarly sized to the one in Athens in that it was vast and large. Many planes were still visible outside on the apron, some were queued up to allow passengers to disembark while others were taking off into the skies.
"Well, here we are in Vienna, guys, it's beautiful outside."
"Apparently, we're facing the Blitzkrieg Boyz next."
"It would be nice to end their winning streak."
"It would be but it won't be easy, Tyson."
"You're right about that, Ray."
"Well, we'll have to see how to plan against them."
"We've seen them in action, they are really good."
Before long, the G-Revolutions arrived at baggage reclaim and they reclaimed their suitcases before going to the taxi park. All eleven of the other competing teams were there with their baggage in hand.
In the taxi park, the twelve drivers took the suitcases and filled the taxi boots quickly and efficiently. Afterwards, everybody got into their respective taxis which drove away quickly.
"Well, it looks like we're fighting our fifth round."
"Yes, well I really hope we beat the Blitzkrieg Boyz."
"They don't take any prisoners, that's for sure."
"We'll have to be careful, there's no two ways about it."
While the rest of the G-Revolutions chatted with the exception of Kai, who went to sleep, Daichi took photos of some of the sites of Vienna, hoping to add them to his scrapbook. Thus far he had four pages, one for each country that they had battled in.
The taxis gradually drove towards the Hilton Vienna Plaza, the airport was now a dot in the rear-view mirror. On the drive, the entire road was full of cars and buses. Some of these cars were full of Beyblade fans. Mr. Daniels was also driving as well, he needed more information about Mr. Coupe.
Thus far, he had found out some very crucial information, in the last battle against the G-Revolutions Mr. Daniels had seen Kristin detonating her own blade in her match against Daichi. He had also collected the evidence of Daryl's illegal switchblades. Now, he just had to further investigate in order to determine whether Mr. Coupe was guilty.
As the traffic worsened, the competitors wondered why it was worsening so much. After getting part of the way through it, Tyson saw road works and a diversion sign.
"So that's why the traffic's worsening."
"Yes, Tyson, just relax."
"It's just I'm annoyed with the traffic."
"So are we all."
The taxis now turned in the direction shown by the arrow, away from the road works and towards the hotel.
"Not much further now I hope."
"Same here."
Gradually as the traffic was left behind, the bladers found the remainder of the journey relaxing. Especially in that there was no more diversions or obstacles on the way.
For the rest of the journey, Tyson kept a vigilant eye on the time and hoped that the rest of the journey would end soon.
Sure enough, Tyson's hopes came true, the taxis soon pulled up in car park of the Hilton Vienna Plaza.
As soon as the tired bladers reached the hotel, they removed their cases from the boots of the taxis. Afterwards they went into the lobby and received their room keys.
"Finally, time to crash out!"
"I don't blame your exhaustion, Tyson."
With their room keys in hand the twelve teams took elevators to their rooms. All of them were excited for their first round in Vienna. Particularly as tomorrow would have Ocean Shine taking on Mythic Blade.
