Chapter 59 First Elimination
Early, the next morning all twelve competing teams were in the car park, gradually filling the twelve taxis that would take them to the Varsity Centre. Soon all the taxis were full and driving away to the stadium. Once the taxis had reached the stadium, all but two teams filled the stands.
"Good morning, beybladers, and welcome to the Varsity Centre. This day will bring an end to the tale of one team but the other will see victory. Both teams have made it this far but for one the journey will end. Said DJ Jazzman. "First up for today are those Spanish heroes who have taken this tournament by storm, Le Croix!"
Le Croix strolled confidently into the stadium, though they knew this could well be their final stand, they weren't scared whatsoever because they would give it absolutely every ounce of their competitive spirit to win. Though their hearts were hammering, they still wanted to give it their best.
With Le Croix now in the stadium, they sat down on a bench at the closed platform.
"Their opponents are those poisonous serpents who have battled hard to get here, let's give a warm welcome to the Venom Snakes!"
The Venom Snakes walked nervously into the stadium, their hearts were in their mouths and hammering with fear as they entered. They knew that this may be bring an end to their time in the tournament but they vowed to give their all.
Le Croix and the Venom Snakes were now seated on benches in the stadium, but neither team moved an inch nor a centimetre. However, Miguel soon stood up and walked up to the platform.
"Miguel is first to step up to represent Le Croix and rightly so, this is a crucial battle because one team may be out today!"
As soon as Miguel had reached the closed platform, he was met there by Jasmine who was itching to win.
"Jasmine is here to represent The Venom Snakes, she's beautiful but she can blow you away!"
With Miguel and Jasmine now facing one another, the platform separated and unveiled a stadium with High Park made from artificial grass.
"The High Park stadium is a very impressive construction and very environmentally friendly too!"
Miguel swiftly readied his launcher, ripcord and beyblade and prepared to launch. Jasmine quickly followed suit, removing her equipment from the belt round her jeggings.
"3,2,1, let it rip!"
As soon as the command was issued, Miguel and Jasmine swiftly launched their blades into the stadium.
"Dark Gargoyle, attack!"
"Go, Evergreen Asper!"
Dark Gargoyle and Evergreen Asper shot forwards, sending grass up into the air as they zoomed towards each other and they clashed hard in the middle. Sparks flew as the metal clanged.
"Dark Gargoyle, slam now!"
With a single slam, Dark Gargoyle knocked Evergreen Asper back across the park field. Jasmine's heart skipped a beat as this happened.
"Evergreen Asper, attack now!"
"Dark Gargoyle, evade!"
As Evergreen Asper went into attack, Dark Gargoyle smartly shot away, Jasmine's hands went over her mouth in shock.
"No way!"
"Slam, Dark Gargoyle!"
Dark Gargoyle heeded Miguel's command, slamming Evergreen Asper right into a tree with a single blow.
"Keep it up, Dark Gargoyle!"
"Evergreen Asper, slam back!"
The door was slammed on Miguel's attack as Evergreen Asper heeded Jasmine's command, striking fast and ferociously.
"Finish him off!"
"Slam her, Dark Gargoyle!"
Like the flip of a switch, Miguel reclaimed the momentum and Dark Gargoyle slammed Evergreen Asper back again.
"Dark Gargoyle, multi slam!"
In seconds, Dark Gargoyle brutally slammed Evergreen Asper left, right and centre, sparks flew with every blow it landed. Jasmine's eyes filled with tears as she watched Evergreen Asper being slammed.
"Evergreen Asper, full power attack!"
Seconds later, Evergreen Asper was brutally attacking Dark Gargoyle, hitting it with fierce blows.
"Evergreen Asper, slam!"
"Dark Gargoyle, you slam too!"
"Dark Gargoyle and Evergreen Asper slammed each other in the middle, sparks flew as they connected.
"Dark Gargoyle, Fire Execution!"
"Evergreen Asper, Fanged Venom!"
As soon as Miguel and Jasmine had called their attacks, the gargoyle and Fer de Lance snake appeared screeching and hissing respectively. Devil wings sprouted from Miguel's back as a tornado of flame encased Dark Gargoyle. The Fer de Lance snake coiled up and spat the purple venom from its mouth, but in vain for the burning tornado swallowed it up.
Jasmine's eyes were as wide as plates, full to the brim with tears but there was nothing she could do. Soon, Evergreen Asper was swept from the stadium to the floor and Dark Gargoyle returned to Miguel's open hand.
"Winner Miguel"
Jasmine hung her head as the tears flowed from her ice blue eyes, Miguel noticed and swiftly approached her.
"You battled well today."
"Yeah but I lost."
"Yes, but you did great, put her there."
Miguel extended his hand and Jasmine tearfully shook it, before Miguel gave her a hug and wiped her tears before they parted company.
Before long, the stadium went back under and Claude walked up to the closed platform.
"Claude is next to represent Le Croix, his Rapid Eagle bit beast can easily demolish those snakes!"
Claude waited patiently at the closed platform, before long Noah walked up and met him there.
"Noah is going to represent the Venom Snakes, can he ensure they last another round or will they fall?"
As soon as Claude and Noah were facing each other, the closed platform separated and smoke billowed from it. As the smoke billowed and dissipated, the stadium was revealed. The stadium was an exact replica of the VanDusen Botanical Garden, complete with all its statues, plants, lakes, waterfalls and benches.
"Wow, a replica of the VanDusen Botanical Garden, our bladers are going to have to work very hard to battle there."
"3,2,1, let it rip!"
Claude swiftly launched Rapid Eagle into the stadium, Noah followed with Coastal Angusticeps.
"Rapid Eagle, attack!"
"Go, Coastal Angusticeps!"
Rapid Eagle and Coastal Angusticeps chased one another through the botanical garden, sparks flew as the metal collided from the impact of the blades.
"Keep on him, Rapid Eagle!"
Heeding Claude's commands, Rapid Eagle slammed Coastal Angusticeps hard, keeping it firmly on the run as it sliced through the hedges.
"Rapid Eagle, slam now!"
With a mighty blow, Rapid Eagle slammed Coastal Angusticeps forwards, knocking it into a flower bed.
"Keep it up!"
Rapid Eagle maintained its ferocious attack, striking fast and hard much to Noah's worry.
"Coastal Angusticeps, counterattack!"
Like the flip of a switch, Coastal Angusticeps snatched momentum from Rapid Eagle and fiercely attacked back.
"Attack, Rapid Eagle!"
In a bid to regain control, Claude sent Rapid Eagle on a hard offensive, slashing Coastal Angusticeps.
"That's it, Rapid Eagle, slam now!"
With a single mighty slam, Rapid Eagle sent Coastal Angusticeps backwards into the trees.
"Coastal Angusticeps, fight back!"
Coastal Angusticeps brutally retaliated, it hit Rapid Eagle at every angle possible, sparks flew with every blow.
"Rapid Eagle, counterattack!"
Rapid Eagle reclaimed control, striking Coastal Angusticeps hard and brutally with swift blows.
"Keep on attacking!"
Heeding Claude's commands, Rapid Eagle maintained its brutal attack and slashed Coastal Angusticeps at every angle humanely possible.
"Coastal Angusticeps, slam back!"
Coastal Angusticeps snatched the momentum back from Rapid Eagle, hitting it with hard, authoritative and fierce blows.
Claude was furious, there was no way he could let Noah win, especially with so much on the line.
"Rapid Eagle, climb now!"
Rapid Eagle shot up a nearby tree and perched there, waiting patiently for Claude's command to strike.
"Rapid Eagle, Twin Sabre!"
Dark teal angel wings sprouted from Claude's back and a two headed Eagle appeared, it screeched and shot down like a comet, at the same time, Claude's blade slammed directly into Noah's and sent it clear of the stadium, through the air and to the floor at his feet. The Venom Snakes bar Sienna and Jasmine watched with open mouths as this happened, they couldn't believe that their tournament journey was now over. Sienna and Jasmine were in tears of sadness as this realisation now dawned on them.
"Winner Claude!"
"With Claude's victory, Le Croix advance to the next round and the Venom Snakes have now been eliminated, what an upset after having been in the tournament for so long!"
Rapid Eagle returned to Claude's hand while Noah picked up Coastal Angusticeps, miserably walking away to the Venom Snakes. Claude noticed and went after him. The rest of the Venom Snakes were in misery as they saw Noah return to them. However, they were grateful for the opportunity to be part of the tournament.
"Noah, wait!"
Noah jumped briefly and saw Claude behind him.
"That was a great battle today, I hope that one day we battle again."
"Sure, Claude, good luck to you and your team in the next round."
"Thanks a lot, Noah."
They shook hands before parting ways, although the Venom Snakes had lost they would still stay and watch the last two rounds.
"What an upset, the Venom Snakes are now eliminated after making it this far! Join us tomorrow to see White Tiger X battle Frozen Fortitude to see who stays and who goes!"
