Chapter 71 Flying Home For The Finals

The morning following the elimination of Le Croix, the G-Revolutions began clearing their room to get ready to go to the airport to go back home to Japan for the finals. One by one, they packed their bags and left the hotel room to hand their room keys in. In the lobby, every single team, spectator and competitor alike were present and ready to go to Japan.

"I can't believe we're now in the finals."

"I know it seems like only yesterday we were watching the Australian preliminaries."

"It's been quite a journey and so much has changed as well."

"Yeah, we've faced some new and interesting teams and we've faced some of the old competition too."

"We're in a sudden death round in Japan."

"Hopefully we can avenge our loss to the Majestics."

"Yes."

"What flight are we going on?"

"We'll be going on United Airlines Flight 3931, then we'll layover in Chicago and then we'll be going to Japan on United Airlines Flight 881."

"Not another layover."

"I'm afraid so, Tyson."

Tyson sighed, all he wanted to do was to be in Japan in the finals. However, the stupid flight had to layover. He also remembered Tala using the layovers for time with his girlfriend Luna.

Soon, the twelve teams were boarding taxis that would take them to the airport. Once the taxis were full, they drove away to Asheville Regional Airport.

Traffic filled the roads to the airport, many drivers were cursing and swearing at others as the lines moved slowly.

"I really wish this traffic would ease as we need to be at the airport as soon as possible."

"Tyson, cursing the traffic won't make it move any faster."

However, the traffic began to move slowly at first, but it moved at least.

"Finally, some movement."

With the traffic moving at last, Tyson could finally relax and feel some optimism. At least he could relax until they reached the airport.

The rest of the drive didn't seem too bad, in fact it seemed better, much better.

Before long, all twelve taxis reached Asheville Regional Airport. A huge Aer Lingus Boeing 787 roared overhead. Many people filed in and out of the airport.

"Well we're heading back to Japan now for the finals."

"Maybe we might get to stop home."

"Yes, Tyson, maybe."

The G-Revolutions helped take their baggage out of the taxi and took it into the spacious airport. Many planes were taking off and landing in simultaneous fashion.

Gradually, the G-Revolutions took their toilet breaks and bought sweets for the plane.

"United Airlines Flight 3931 is now boarding."

Upon hearing this announcement, the G-Revolutions swiftly made their way to the departure lounge. They then entered the tunnel to the plane. Now inside the plane, they sat down on their assigned seats.

"Good morning, everybody, and welcome on board United Airlines Flight 3931 from Asheville to Tokyo. There shall be a layover in Chicago for five hours and twenty minutes before we fly to Tokyo. We will be flying for two hours and ten minutes before we get to Chicago. Take off will be happening very soon and all seatbelts must be fastened. Baggage must be properly secured and seats and table trays must be upright. Furthermore, all electronic devices must be switched off abs smoking isn't permitted at all. Thank you for choosing United Airlines. Enjoy your flight."

Seconds later, United Airlines Flight 3931 taxied along the runway and up into the sky. Soon, Asheville, North Carolina was fading away and becoming smaller by every second.
