Addie had to admit to herself that she was having fun. For a moment, she even forgot about the curse and losing Roman.
He laughed and she watched him with a smile. His laugh was the best.
Carmella asked, "What did Alexa want?"
Addie couldn't take her eyes off of Roman.
"Just to warn you about Bray," she said. "And we did agree on one thing."
"What is?" Carmella asked.
Addie replied, "I'm keeping him and the guys safe."
Carmella nodded her head in agreement.
"Hey, so we are about ready to go home. You ladies?", Dean said.
Carmella nodded with a smile before taking his hand. Addie walked over to Roman.
He asked her, "Ready to go?"
She nodded. They picked up after themselves and then walked out.
"See you at home, Rome", Dean said, before getting in the car and driving off.
He looked Adelaide in the eyes.
He asked, "Want to drive around for a bit?"
Addie agreed.
She replied, "Sounds nice."
He opened her door for her. Once she got in on her side, they did just as he asked. It was quiet, and the stars were out.
"Addie?", he said.
She looked at him; his eyes were still on the road.
He said, "You know you can trust me, right?"
She was confused about that.
She nodded and said, "I know."
He smiled broadly.
He said, "You can tell me anything; there's nothing that will scare me away."
That confused her even more. He finally looked over at her. Did he know she was a witch? But how?
Is there something you want to tell me? You aren't married, are you? she asked, playing it off.
He chuckled.
He replied, "Not married."
He shrugged and glanced back at the road.
"There's not much to tell on my end," he said. "I'm just letting you know. You can talk to me; I've heard it all."
She nodded. As much as he wanted to tell her, hey, my brothers and I were sent here to kill you because your witches, it didn't sound good.
His phone rang, and he saw Randy's name flash on the screen. He glanced at Addie.
"You can answer it; you know. It might be important if he's calling this late," Addie said.
He knew if he answered it, Randy would talk about the witches, and he didn't want Addie hearing that.
He replied, "I can call him back."
She asked, "Who is he?"
He replied, "My older brother."
She exclaimed, "Wow, you have more?" in excitement.
He replied, "He was adopted too."
She nodded. The phone started ringing again, so he pulled over.
He said, "Give me a minute, okay," as he grabbed his phone and got out of his truck.
He walked a few feet away, but not too far from his truck. He could see Addie looking concerned.
"Hey, sorry about that, I was…", Randy cut him off.
Randy said, "Dad and I are coming tomorrow; have a spare room ready for us."
He asked, "Why?" fearing the answer.
"We found a witch," Randy said before hanging up.
Roman's heart almost stopped. Addie noticed the look on his face and got off the truck.
"Roman, is everything okay?", she asked.
He and his brothers had no choice now; they had to tell the girls who they were and why they were really there.
They had to help them get away and hide.
"We need to talk about something, Addie," he said, walking back to his truck.
She nodded. She got back in at the same time as him. He pulled back onto the road.
She asked, "Is everything okay with your family?"
Roman hadn't heard her. She reached over and set her hand on his arm. He finally looked over at her.
"Excuse me, what?" he asked.
She asked again, "Your family is okay?"
He nodded.
"Oh, yes," he replied.
She nodded, even though she knew it was not okay. She knew him like the back of her hand.
When they got to his place, they got off and he stopped her.
"I didn't mean to ruin tonight. There's just a lot going on, and my brother told me that he and my dad will be here tomorrow," he sighed.
"And that's a bad thing?" she asked.
He licked his lips.
"Sort of," he replied. "It goes back to us needing to talk."
She nodded. He looked over her face, unsure if he should tell her. He knew he would lose her.
She walked over to him.
She gently touched his cheek and he sighed before closing his eyes.
He whispered, "Addie."
She stood on her toes and kissed him. He pulled her closer to deepen it. She moaned. He pulled a bit away, his eyes still closed.
He asked, "Want to come in?"
She nodded, and he lifted her to take her into his home and to his room. He kicked the door shut with his foot.
She lay on his bed as he climbed on top of her.
He asked, "Are you sure?"
She nodded. He kissed her and they felt a shock; he pulled away.
He asked, "Did you feel that too?"
She nodded and smiled. He kissed her again. Being with him always felt like the first time.
Nikki smiled before turning off the lights in the living room.
"About time," Brie said.
Their girls had decided on staying over with the guys.
Nikki replied, "Tell me about it."
She noticed a sad expression on her sister's face.
Nikki asked, "What is it?"
"Just worried about her. She's starting to give up and I'm afraid of what she is going to do if he dies again. I don't think she would survive it. She has so much hope right now", Brie said.
"I'm worried too, but its like Bayley said, something is different this time around and we have to trust that", Nikki replied.
Brie nodded her agreement.
"I know, and Bayley has never been wrong," Brie said.
Nikki hugged her sister.
"Okay, let's go to bed. I want to be up and ready for when the girls arrive," Nikki said.
Brie giggled and nodded her head in agreement.
Addie woke up and stretched her arms out. Feeling the empty bed beside her, she opened her eyes and found Roman wasn't there.
She smiled. He was just as amazing as ever. As she reached for her phone, it fell, landing under the bed.
She sighed. She could leave it and wait until morning, or get up and grab it. Remembering she had to text her mom, even though she knew her mom probably had an idea of where she was.
Getting up, she noticed that Roman had neatly folded shirts on his desk. She grabbed one and put it on before bending down and looking under his bed.
Grabbing it, the screen lit up. She froze. Under his bed, she found a knife and gun hidden.
What was he doing with that?
Turning on her flashlight, she pointed it toward the gun. She recognized the side of the book, but what was he doing with it?
Her shaky hand pulled it out. "Hunter" was written in gold letters. Only witch hunters had this book. They marked the names of the witches and warlocks they killed.
They were given this book after their first kill. She was afraid to open it and read the names of her fallen sisters who had been killed by him.
Slowly opening it, he was three pages in. Unlike the others she seen, he writes descriptions of the fallen. Name, age, and if they had a family.
She shut it and got dressed. She had to get out, and now. Closing her eyes and feeling for her cousins. They got the message. They each made it to the hall at the same time.
"Are you sure?" Bayley asked.
She handed them the book.
Carmella paused. "If he has one," she said.
She quickly went back into Dean's room and came out with his book.
Carmella asked, "What do we do?"
"We let them know that we know and then run," Addie said. "We've done it before."
Her cousins nodded.
"The bad feeling I got, this was it," Bayley mumbled.
Carmella asked, "Why them?"
"I don't know," said Addie.
