Thea followed Roman upstairs. She wanted to make sure he wasn't going to be overwhelmed with everyone.
Knocking on his door, it opened to him shirtless. She groaned.
"Why do you always have to have your shirt off when I come to your room", she huffed.
He laughed softly before putting a black tshirt on.
"Better?", he asked.
She bit her lip. She wanted to say no, but held her tongue.
"Did you come to talk to me about my mom paying you a visit today?", he asked.
"I kinda figured she would tell you. Probably even told you I yelled at her", she said.
He nodded.
"Which, I don't believe, but if you did, good for you. Everything Dean told me about how they treated you, anyone would go off.", Roman said.
She smiled and nodded.
"Well, I didn't technically yell", she corrected.
"Its okay, I'm not mad", he smiled.
"Okay. I also wanted to make sure you were okay with everyone here. I know its a lot and the kids, they don't really understand what happened. They might still call you uncle Roman", she said.
"And that's alright to, Thea. Like I said, I want us to get back to that. I'm hoping even if my memory never comes back, you'll have me", he said.
She smiled.
"Hope, lets keep hoping", she nodded.
He placed his hand against her hip and spun her.
"Now, lets go eat. I'm starving", he said against her ear.
She nodded.
"But um, if you can remind me who Nikki is married too, and the names of my nieces and nephews", he said.
"Alright, well, Nikki is married to Austin, they've been together since high school. Their oldest is Devon, then its Lola, and their littlest man is Ben", she said.
Roman nodded. The one who spoke to him must have been Devon.
"Then Renee and Seth, who have the twins, Kylie and Maya.", she added.
"Check and check", he replied.
"If you need any help remembering, just ask. They know what you've been through and understand its going to take time to learn who they are", she said.
"I just don't want them to hate me. They are important to you and Joey", he said.
She turned and placed her hands on his cheeks.
"They love you. You actually asked them for my hand before asking me", she said.
"Really?", he asked, surprised.
She nodded.
"Ask them", she winked before continuing downstairs and to the back.
He took a deep breath before following.
Roman couldn't make himself get out of his truck. He had invited her siblings to lunch. He knew they would say yes, he loved them as much as they loved him.
Taking a deep breath, he got off. The twins were sitting on one side of the booth, Seth on the other.
Nikki saw him and stood, hugging him, followed by Brie. He sat beside Seth, who sent him a nod.
"So, what's this about and why couldn't we tell Thea?", Brie asked.
Nikki happily clapped.
"Even though we already have a feeling on what it is", she added.
Brie nudged her.
"Sorry, I can't help it", Nikki whispered.
Roman chuckled.
"Well, you're all right.", he said, before taking the ring out.
Brie and Nikki admired it. Whispering about how much Thea was going to like it.
"I invited you all out to ask for her hand", he said.
"You've always had it, Rome. We know how much she loves you and, from the moment we met you, you became our brother.", Brie said.
"Exactly. We know your parents aren't going to like this, so whatever you two choose to do, we will support", Nikki said.
Roman shook his head.
"Even if they don't like it, she is the one for me and if they want any part in the lives of our future kids, they'll accept it without comments", Roman replied.
Nikki nodded.
"I don't understand why they don't like my sister. She's done nothing but respect them, even when they don't.", Seth said.
"They think she's influencing me to make decisions they don't like. I've told them that they are decisions I made and she's supporting me. She wouldn't be a good partner if she didn't support me.", Roman said.
"She just wants you to be happy and she knows that these choices you made are going to do that", Nikki said.
He nodded.
"And I know that if she didn't agree, we would sit and talk about how it wouldn't be good for our future", Roman added.
"Exactly", Brie nodded.
"But I love her, more than anyone or anything. I want to start having kids as soon as we can.", Roman said with a smile.
The twins awed and eyes were watery.
"Well, whatever you two need, you can count on us", Seth said.
Roman smiled as the twins told him about how he asked for Thea's hand. Followed by other stories.
He had such a close bond with them, and they weren't even his blood. Dean was the only sibling he was close to.
He got along great with Austin and Renee, and the kids would randomly come and hug his legs or the little ones would ask to be lifted into his arms.
"I kinda feel bad now", Seth said.
Thea was inside grabbing some waters for the kids. Roman looked at him.
"I shouldn't have said anything to Randy, the cop", Seth continued.
"Look, I get it. You didn't think I would come back into her life. I just, feel like something is missing. I think its her", Roman said.
"And your not going to randomly try to disappear when she's at work?", Austin asked.
He cringed. He knew it was going to come up eventually.
"My dad said it was best. I didn't think so, but in the moment, I wasn't really thinking for myself.", Roman said.
Austin and Seth nodded.
"I think she knows that too.", Seth added.
"I did give her the option to date me and this cop guy. I want her to make her own choice, you know.", Roman said.
Seth nodded.
"So, work wise, you going back to work for that pervert?", Austin asked.
Roman shrugged.
"I don't really know. I do know what happened and he wants to talk about it", Roman said.
"I think he should apologize to my sister in front of your parents, if you asked me", Seth said.
"Agreed. Mostly because I want to see the looks on their faces for the mistakes they made", Austin chuckled.
"Same", Seth nodded.
Roman smiled.
"I can actually get that done. My parents are having a party in two weeks and he will be there", Roman winked.
"And you two will be invited", Dean added.
"Oh for sure, can't let you miss the looks on my family's faces", Roman smirked.
"So?", Nikki asked.
"He wasn't mad for the way I spoke to his mom", Thea replied.
"Because I'm sure Dean filled him in on a lot of things.", Brie added.
"He actually did. Which I am so thankful to Dean for. He was the only one that accepted me, and Nia", Thea said.
"I miss her.", Renee added.
Thea nodded.
"So are you doing the test?", Brie asked.
"I am, just to prove them wrong. I'm tired of them thinking I'm something I'm not, but this is mostly for Joey. She can't have our parents to spoil her, she can at least have his parents", Thea said.
Nikki's kids had Austin's parents. Seth's had Renee's parents and step parents.
"I just hope they don't treat her differently. She's innocent", Thea said.
"But so are you, Thea. You never did anything wrong.", Nikki replied.
"They need to be mad at someone, its fine if its me and not Roman or Joey", Thea said.
Brie took Thea's hand.
"Lets not talk about this anymore. Come on, I'm sure food is done", Brie said.
The ladies nodded before making their way outside to the back. Thea looked over to Roman and he was laughing with her brothers.
In that moment, it didn't feel like he lost his memory.
"Food better be done boys", Nikki called out.
They all turned and smiled.
"Been done babe", Austin replied.
Nikki and Renee served the kids first before everyone grabbed plates to serve themselves.
"Mommy, can I have another hot dog?", Joey asked.
"I got it, Thea", Roman said, calling Joey over.
"Just ketchup daddy", Joey said.
"I got you my girl", Roman replied with a smile.
Thea smiled. Nothing could ruin this, well, maybe his parents.
