After Thea had arrived in Amnesty Bay, the first thing she did was go shopping, thank the gods that Diana had provided her with some funds to get back on her feet, since she no longer had access to the Queen Family funds, since she was pretty sure her mother thought she was dead and even if she didn't, they'd been pretty badly estranged beforehand.
Anyways, Thea immediately hit up the local mall, since right now she was currently still wearing her Amazon battle armor, which was the only thing she'd been wearing since she'd arrived on Themyscira and while she was lucky the people thought that she was just some kind of fangirl, she knew she couldn't dress like an ancient greek warrior every day, so after stashing her weapons, Thea used the debit card Diana had given her to hit up the local mall for some real clothes, something that she'd honestly missed while she was on the island.
After spending about half an hour shopping, Thea had bought herself a new wardrobe of regular clothes, along with a new phone, since she honestly didn't even know what she'd done with her old one. After that, she'd gotten checked into a hotel before finally heading to a local bar, since she was 21 now and honestly, she wanted some real alcohol in her system and not just the wine that had been served on Themyscira.
That was why she now found herself sitting at the bar of Terry's Sunken Galleon, the local bar in town, currently enjoying the first real beer she'd had in years and she had to admit, it tasted so good after so long without it.
But while she was drinking, Thea had her new phone out and she had her mother's phone number put in, but she was debating whether or not to call her, since they hadn't left things on good terms. In the end, she found she couldn't do it, since even if she did convince her mom to forgive her, she couldn't go home yet. So it seemed better to just keep her distance until after she completed her training.
Which brought her back to why she was in Amnesty Bay in the first place. In order to begin the next stage of her training, Thea needed to find a way to Atlantis and according to Artemis, the best way for that was to find another folktale hero. Aquaman. Thea had been doing research on him since she arrived at the bar and she found out more about him. Apparently he was this super buff dude who was known for saving sailors at sea. Thea had to admit, she had no complaints about the fact that every photo she'd found of Aquaman involved him being shirtless, since she'd been surrounded by nothing but women for the past two years and while her heart would always belong to Roy, she had no idea where he was right now and it wasn't like she and him had parted on good terms, since he'd abandoned her the last time she'd seen him, not to mention he likely had no idea who she was or cared about it, so she was more than willing to take advantage of her single status and take a look at hot men.
Anyways, based on her research, she could tell that this guy was definitely an Atlantean, since from what Artemis had told her, that was the only explanation for how he could do what he could do, what didn't know was connection he had to this town and she was determined to find out. Once she figured out how to find him of course.
But that quickly proved to be easier than she expected, since she turned when she heard the entrance to the bar open and saw the man from the photos walk in and Thea had to say, the photos did not do him justice.
Now she just had to figure out how to get his attention without coming off as desperate.
Though it turned out that had been unnecessary, since throughout happy hour, Thea had noticed Aquaman staring at her several times, not that she minded at all, though she couldn't help but be a bit concerned that maybe he recognized her as an Amazon, the enemy of his people.
But before she could think too much about it, Aquaman walked up to her.
"Excuse me miss, is this seat taken?" Aquaman asked and Thea grinned as she gave him her full attention and prepared to bring back an old persona, flirty Thea.
"Nope, it's wide open. But can I ask your name?" Thea asked, lucky that she had so much practice at pretending to be ditzy.
"Arthur Curry. And you are?" Arthur asked.
"Thea Queen. What can I do for you?" Thea asked, wondering where this was going.
"Well for starters, I'm a regular here at this bar and I've never seen you before and trust me, with looks like that, I'd remember seeing you." Arthur said and Thea rolled her eyes.
"Just got into town. But I'm guessing you didn't just come here to get to know the new girl in town, so why don't you tell me what you really want." Thea asked, not trying to sound off putting, but she wanted to get to the point of this before she let herself have any fun.
"You know who I am don't you? Aquaman?" Arthur asked.
"I do and I admit that's what brought me here, but it's because I need your help." Thea said and Arthur chuckled.
"What can I help you with?" Arthur asked and Thea smiled.
"Several things, but the most important is I need to find a way to Atlantis." Thea said.
"Really, and what makes you think I want anything to do with Atlantis?" Arthur asked, shocking her.
"I never said you had to stay, I just need a way to get there." Thea said and Arthur considered it.
"And why would someone who's clearly an Amazon want to get to Atlantis?" Arthur asked, since he recognized Thea as a member of the Amazon tribe.
"Long story." Thea said.
"Really, any chance I could convince you to tell it to me?" Arthur asked and Thea saw the look on his face and she was very happy about where this was going.
"I can think of a few ways." Thea said with a sexy smile, which Arthur returned.
"Tell you what, you give me that story and I'll show you a way to Atlantis, provided you have a way to survive underwater." Arthur said and Thea smiled as she remembered what Artemis had led her to before she left Themyscira.
"I've got that handled. But I think that can wait until tomorrow. Don't you?" Thea asked and Arthur grinned.
"Absolutely." Arthur agreed as he paid both his and Thea's tabs and they headed out towards Thea's hotel for a very restless night.
