Thea smoothed her hands down the dress she had on, looking herself over in the mirror.
She was nervous. She hadn't been on a date since Roman. Biting her lip, she shook her head. She looked ridiculous in her mind.
"You look stunning", Brie said, walking into her room.
Thea sighed.
"Is it too much?", she asked, as Brie sat on her bed and went through the pile of clothes she had tried on and off.
"Where are you guys going again?", Brie asked.
"Dinner and then a bar", Thea replied, still looking over the dress.
"I would say, these jeans and this black halter top. That dress is more like a fifth fancy date dress", Brie replied.
"Black booties or knee length boots?", Thea asked.
Black booties", Brie replied.
Thea nodded. She hadn't felt this good in a dress in a long time.
"Wow mommy, you look beautiful", Thea turned to see Joey in Roman's arms.
Roman's eyes roamed over her till he looked into hers.
"Agreed", he finally said.
She felt her cheeks warm. Brie smiled as she looked between them. Dean pushed past Roman.
"Dude, don't block the doorway", Dean chuckled.
Dean went over to Brie and kissed her before looking at Thea.
"Damn sis, you wear that dress tonight he is definitely ripping it off", Dean joked with a wink.
Brie pinched his arm.
"Babe", he pouted, before he noticed her tilt her head towards Roman.
Roman's shoulders had slumped a bit.
"Are you wearing that tonight, for him?", Roman asked.
"No", Thea quickly shook her head.
He breathed a sigh of relief.
"Jeans and this top", Brie said, lifting the clothes.
Roman nodded.
"You'll look good in anything", Roman said.
"How about you save that dress for when you go out with my brother", Dean suggested with a smirk.
Roman nodded.
"Sounds like a plan", Roman agreed.
Thea smiled.
"I'm gonna go change now, excuse me", Thea said, grabbing the jeans and top from Brie.
Roman wasn't nervous about his first date with Thea. He knew what he wanted from this date and he always got what he wanted.
This woman was going to be crying out his name by the end of the night.
He knocked on her door. It opened to another woman.
"You must be Roman", she said.
He nodded and held out his hand.
"I'm Brie, Thea's sister", she introduced.
"Nice to meet you", he replied, looking around the apartment.
It was small, but it felt cozy to him. Something his childhood home and his condo didn't feel like.
"Would you like something to drink?", Brie asked.
"Oh, water is fine", he replied.
Brie nodded. She grabbed a water out of the fridge and handed it to him.
"I'm gonna go see if she's ready", Brie said, before leaving the room.
He nodded and sat down.
Thea was pacing. This guy was different from her other dates. She knew by the car that he drove and the suit he wore, he came from money.
If his last name didn't give him away first. His family was well known in town.
"Any time now", Brie said, walking in.
"Why me? I'm no one. He could be with anyone", Thea said.
Brie smiled.
"I barely make ends meet", Thea said.
"You are a good person, T. You are smart, funny, and so damn beautiful. You love your job and those kids", Brie said.
"I'm just scared he's going to realize I am not even close to his league.", Thea said.
"More like you are out of his league. He is never going to find someone with your heart.", Brie said.
Thea looked at herself in the mirror. The flowy dress was a hand me down from Nikki.
"You look great", Brie smiled.
Thea took a deep breath before following Brie to the living room. He stood and his heart beat faster.
"Wow, you look, amazing", he smiled.
"Thanks, it use to be my sister Nikki' s dress, but she's pregnant right now and…", Brie nudged her to get her to stop.
Roman chuckled.
"Sorry", Thea said softly.
"Its okay", he nodded, loving the blush on her cheeks.
"So, have a good time tonight", Brie said, gently pushing her sister towards Roman.
Thea made her way down. A Disney movie was playing for Joey as she was sitting with Dean.
"Man, who would have thought bad boy Dean would be watching Disney", Thea chuckled.
"Well my niece is a special little lady", he replied.
Joey smiled up at him as she held his hand in her little one. Thea nodded and leaned into her daughter, kissing her cheek.
"Don't forget your bed time, uncle Dean", Thea said, giving Dean a look and making him chuckled.
"Yes mom", Dean replied, making Joey laugh.
Thea put her jacket on.
"He's in the kitchen pouting, if you were wondering", Dean added.
Thea made her way to the kitchen. Roman was sipping his coffee when she walked in.
"Hey", she said softly.
He sent her a nod.
"So how did it go with your parents?", she asked.
"Offered to pay for Joey's education", he replied.
"Let me guess, she has to live at the school in a dorm", she said.
"Close. She has to live with my parents, while you only get her two days a week", he said.
"Wow, that did surprise me", she nodded.
He chuckled.
"I said no, of course. I would never want to take her from you. This is our family, we make the decisions for this family, together", Roman said.
She smiled and walked over to him, kissing his cheek.
"Please don't have fun tonight", he said softly.
She smiled up at him.
"Or at least not as much fun as you know we are going to have.", he added.
"I will try", she replied.
Before he could say anything else, Seth and Renee walked in.
"Thea", Seth called.
Thea squeezed Roman's arm before making her way to the living room.
"You look cute", Renee said, seeing her and hugging her.
"Ready to go?", her brother asked.
She nodded as Renee hugged Joey. Roman came out of the kitchen.
"I won't be back too late.", Thea said.
"Don't worry about us, we will be fine. Have fun", Brie said.
Thea gave one last look to Roman before walking out with her brother and Renee.
"He looked upset", Renee pointed out.
"He was a bit. Hopes I don't have fun tonight", Thea replied.
"Well I hope you do have fun. He's had his", Seth said.
"Its been awhile since I've been on a date", Thea said.
"Then try to have fun. Don't think about what Roman is going to say or do. This is about you", Seth said.
Renee nodded. Thea took a deep breath before nodding. She was going to try.
Getting to the restaurant, they walked in. Randy was already there and stood once he saw them.
He held roses in one hand.
"Wow, you look beautiful", Randy said.
"Oh, thank you. You look handsome", Thea replied.
They sat and looked over the menu in silence. Renee wanted to break it, so she kicked her husband under the table.
"Ouch", Seth groaned.
"You okay?", Thea asked.
Seth nodded as he looked at his wife. She signaled to him and he sighed.
"So Randy, how long have you been a cop?", Seth asked.
"Oh about fifteen years", Randy replied.
"Wow, that's a long time", Thea said.
"And how long have you been a teacher?", Randy asked.
"Ten almost eleven years, and yes, still loving it", Thea said.
"And your little girl, how old is she?", he asked.
"Almost four, but sometimes she acts like she's fifteen", she replied.
"Agreed", Seth nodded.
"Do you have kids, Randy?", Renee asked.
"Unfortunately no. I haven't found the right woman, but I hope maybe some day", Randy replied.
He looked at Thea.
"Do you want more kids?", he asked.
Roman smiled down at his wife. Wife. Crazy how that sounded.
"Can I ask you something?", he asked.
"Anything", she replied.
"What do you think about trying?", he asked.
"Trying…", she paused.
"Kids", he said.
She smiled.
"You want to try?", she asked.
"Why not?", he asked.
She leaned up and kissed him.
"Then lets try my love", she whispered against his lips.
"Fifteen kids sound good to you?", he asked.
She laughed.
"How about we start at four and if we want more after, we can discuss it", she said.
He pouted and she giggled.
"Fine, deal", he replied.
