Legends Ride Again:
S1: E1: Raise Once More, Kuuga
As Luz Noceda entered the demon realm to start her day, a familiar bad girl historian was busy at work.
"Hard to believe such a find was just a day away by boat," Flora D'esplora muttered, shaking her head. "What did I ever see in that madman?"
The ex-emperor's Coven's Historian looked before her, and her eyes sparkled. In front of Flora was a large temple made from the head of a Titan.
The dark-skin witched frowned as she looked at the symbol on the titan's forehead. Time and the elements had worn the symbol to the point where it wasn't readable, but something bothered her about the mark.
"Miss. D'esplora! Miss. D'esplora!"
Flora looked to her right as one of her workers ran up to her. The young male witch reached the historian and slouched over as he caught his breath. Flora quickly grew impatient waiting on the worker.
"It is open?" the historian asked and smiled when the worker nodded, whizzing slightly. "Good. Now-"
Suddenly, a massive beam of blood-red energy exploded into the air, covering the sky in blood-red clouds. All around, witches and demons began to scream, and some tried to run. They didn't get far; think vine-like objects struck them in the back of their necks, and they stopped dead in their tracks.
The veins began sucking something from them, and they withered as their skin blackened. Once the vines had collected all they could, they broke off from the witches and demons.
Flora watched in horror as the husk of her workers hit the ground, and their bodies crumbled into dust, covering their clothing. She slowly looked up and saw the tendril return to a creature in the shadows.
The witch took a step back as many more shadows joined the first, all with different shapes and glowing red veins webbing their bodies.

Luz sighed heavily as she poked her lunch. All around her, her friends and loved ones looked at her in concern.
"Hey Luz," Gus joked, trying to break the ice, "You know you can eat, right."
Luz didn't seem to hear the illusionist and just continued poking at her lunch. Amity frowned as she watched her usual happy-go-lucky girlfriend acting so down.
"Luz," Amity called to her girlfriend, "I heard a rumor that the next Good Witch Azura book has been pushed back again…to next year."
Luz gave her girlfriend a half-hearted glare and went back to playing with her food. Everyone at the table was officially worried; when Luz didn't react to GWA news, good or bad, they knew something was up.
Willow sighed and put a hand on her best friend's shoulder. She offered her friend a kind smile when Luz looked at her.
"Luz, you can talk to us," the plant witch said reassuringly.
Luz sighed, put her fork down, and looked at her friends with a half-hearted smile.
"Sorry, guy," she apologized half-heartedly, "But I'm just dealing with something I've learned in my oracle class."
Luz's eyes lost focus for a second, and she looked back at her lunch. The others waited for their friend to collect her thoughts and tell them what she learned.
Luz sighed and looked at her friends, and they saw the confusion and uncertainty in the human's eyes. When she spoke, her voice was uncharacteristically quiet.
"We were learning a spell that would let us trace our heritage. The way Mister BlueEyes said it, the spell would track immediate family and go back from there. He said… he said if the results are a solid blue, you have a pure family line, and if it red and blue, you have a mixed family."
Luz's friends saw the swirl of emotions in the human's eyes, and they all had a feeling where things were going.
"Mine was red-blue," Luz told them softly.
Everyone around Luz and her friends seems to have stopped. No sound reached them, nor did Hunter react when a spitball hit him.
"I don't get it?" Gus said, breaking the silence.
Hunter sighed and patted his friend on the shoulder. "I read about this spell. Like Luz said, the Heritage spell targets immediate family first, and if the results are solid blue, it means that the family has only one line, like a family with nothing but witches.."
Amity nodded and continued, "Yeah, if the result is mixed, it means they have a mixed heritage." Everyone at the table gave Amity a look, and she couldn't laugh sheepishly. "Mom used that spell when screening for new employees. She said only the purest could work for her company."
Everyone at the table rolled their eyes and looked at Luz.
"So, that means that one of her parents wasn't who they said they were?" Gus asked uncertainly.
"BUT WHO!" Luz screamed, jumping from the table and pacing. "Is it Mami? Papa! VEEEE!"
Everyone gave Luz a look at that last one, and Amity sighed. She got up, walked over to her girlfriend, and got her in a hug. The abomination planted a kiss on the human's lips, and Luz soon returned the gesture.
Willow and Hunter rolled their eyes at this, and Gus looked away, a light blush crossing his face. The two soon separated and stared lovingly into each other eyes.
"How about this?" Amity suggested after a moment of silence. "Why do me and the others come with you to the human realm after school? So that way, we can be there when you ask your mom."
Luz got a little teary-eyed as she nodded, and this caused Amity to smile.
"Uhh, Luz," Gus said, "I don't mean to break up this moment, but your lunch is crawling away."
Luz gasped, and she gently pushed Amity aside. Just as the young illusionist said, her lunch was crawling away.
"Oh no, you didn't!" the human witch proclaimed, lunging for her meal. "There's no way I'm letting another of you stink up the girl's locker room!"
Luz's friends couldn't help but roll their eyes at their friend's antics. But they were glad their friends were cheering up.

The school day had ended, and Luz and her friends flew to Owl House. Well, Luz, Gus, and Willow flew while Amity rode on a prototype of her own design with Hunter riding with her.
"Why did you make this thing again?" Hunter asked, getting off the machine. "We have monstercycles."
Amity got off, taking off her helmet and giving her hair a quick flip. "That's true," she replied, placing the helmet on her prototype. "But monstercycles at best last four years. Then someone has to kill one to get a new bike. Because of that method, Monstercycles had become endangered and are to be protected until their numbers go up."
Hunter frowned as he looked at the prototype in question. The design was basic, with a dull silver body and standard black tires found in the human realm. But Hunter knew that Amity had reinforced the tires with abomination matter so the tires would survive the harsh terrain.
Finally, the head of the prototype was just a cone with a headlight and a steering column. The design reminded Hunter of something he saw in a magazine during his stay in the human realm.
Hunter took one last look at the machine and then hurried to the door.
"Ready, batata?" The abomination witch asked softly.
No, Luz wasn't ready for this, but she had long since learned not to avoid these topics. So, she took a deep breath and looked at her girlfriend. The human nodded, and Amity smiled as she took her hand.
Luz walked up to the door and knocked twice. She waited 10 seconds and then knocked three more times. The brown glowed and changed into the portal door to the human realm. Amity pressed the knob, and the door activated.
The group ignored the Collector's message as the door opened, and they stepped into the human realm. They wasted no time in making their way to the Noceda home.
"Mami! Vee! Estoy en casa!" Luz called out.
"Just a minute, Mija!" the group heard Camila called from upstairs.
The group decided to make themselves comfortable on the couch, and Camila came downstairs a few minutes later. The vet's hair was slightly damp, meaning she hadn't been home for too long.
The vet smiled as she looked at her daughter's friends, but the mood didn't last. She read the room and knew something was wrong; Luz was tense and fidgeting slightly.
"Is everything okay, Mija?" Camila gently asked as she took a sit on a chair.
Luz sighed and looked at her mother. "Well, you see, Mami," she began slowly. "I was doing this assignment in one of my classes, and I learned, I learned-"
The human witch could feel her nerves failing, and her fidgeting almost gave way to shaking. She wasn't sure if she wanted to know the truth, to hear it from the month of the woman who raised her.
To learn that Camila wasn't her actual mother.
Luz felt Amity grab her hand, and she looked at her. The witch gave her girlfriend an encouraging smile. That gave her the strength to carry on.
The human witch took a deep breath and looked at her mother. "Are you my real mami? Or is Papa my real Papa?"
Camila's eyes snapped open, and her hand flew to her mouth. Everyone in the room could see tears building in her eyes. She took a moment to calm down, wiping her tears away. She looked at her daughter with a heavyhearted expression.
"Mija," Camila said softly, "I'm your mother."
Luz let out a mental sigh but didn't allow herself to relax. If Camila was her mom, then that could only mean one thing. Camila seemed to read her daughter's mind and nodded slowly, a sad smile on her face.
"Si, Mija. Manny was your stepdad."
Everything came to a stop, and no one moved as all their eyes fell on Luz. Luz just down at her hands, her eyes distant. For nearly a minute, no one said or did anything. They didn't even react when Vee came in.
Finally, the silence got too much for Camila, and she got up. She walked over to her daughter and placed a hand on her shoulder. Luz looked her mother in the eyes, regret heavy in them.
"I know I should have told you this sooner," the vet said shamefully. "Manny and I were planning to. But he got sick, and then…well, the subject just didn't seem that important anymore. You must think I'm a terrible mom for keeping this from you."
"No!" Luz screamed, jumping to her feet and hugging her mother tightly. "I don't hate you! It must have hurt losing the two people you loved the most."
Camila sobbed as she hugged her daughter tight. It's times like this she's remained her that Luz wasn't her little girl anymore.
For a few minutes, mother and daughter stayed like this, simply enjoying each other warmth. Luz slowly released her mother, and she looked at Camila with a smile that could light seventeen rooms. Camila returned the gesture wholeheartedly.
"Can you tell me about my other papa?" Luz asked eagerly.
Camila giggled and nodded. The older woman took a seat back in her chair, and Luz rejoined her friends.
The vet took a moment to collect her thoughts and figured out the best way to start.
"...You may get a lot from your step-papa, but your heart comes from your real dad," Camila said, laughing nostalgically. "That man even applied for citizenship just so he could volunteer at different places."
Camila giggled like a schoolgirl as she remembered her first meeting with her husband.
"I was interning at the animal shelter in my hometown when I met him," Camila said fondly. "He had this smile that could light up a room, and he had some of the gentlest eyes I have ever seen. That's another thing you gained from him, Mija."
Luz smiled as she looked at her mother fondly. Luz's friends were looking at her, smiling as they pictured Luz's real dad.
"He sounds like a great man," Willow kindly commented.
"Si," Camila replied, smiling. "Next to Manny, Yusuke was the kindest soul I ever known."
The smile was wiped clean off of Luz's face, and her eyes shrank to the size of peas. The young woman began to shake, and it didn't go unnoticed by everyone in the room.
"Yusuka…Godai?" she asked, voice barely a whisper.
Camila frowned as she looked at her daughter. "Si," she replied awkwardly. "Mija, did you learn his name in school?"
Luz looked down and thought about avoiding the topic. She quickly decided against it, remembering the promise she made after saving the Isles.
So, with a sigh, Luz explained what had been going on lately.
"For the last three nights, I've dreaming about Papa. Only, he's younger, and when I talked, the voice isn't mine. The voice asks Papa to watch over the people he cares about, and before the dream ends, papa calls me Yusuke Godai."
The room became thick as everyone looked at Luz. Camila, Amity, Willow, Gus, and Vee all gave her worried expressions while Hunter looked at the human thoughtfully.
In the end, however, they didn't know how to respond to what they just heard.

In the Bonesborough's market, a hooded figure strolls through the streets. Normally, the stand owners and their customers wouldn't have given this person a second thought. But the blood trail he left in his wake was a slight cause for alarm.
One of the scouts on duty approached the man.
"Sir, are you okay?" the scout asked worryingly. "If you don't know the way, I can take you to the local healer."
The man looked at the scout and lifted his head enough that the scout could see the sadistic grin on the man's face.
"Oh, you can help me, noble soul," the man said in a sadistic tone.
The scout was confused, but he suddenly gasped. The marketgoers were shocked, and some even screamed when they watched a strange tendril-like object get stabbed into the scout's neck.
The tendril went to work and quickly sucked both blood and bile from the witch.
The scout fell to his knees as he suddenly felt very weak. He tried to look up at the mysterious person, but it was like his entire body was made out of lead. It wasn't long before he slumped to the ground, and his eyes rolled into the back of his head as the object drained him of his blood and bile.
It only took a few seconds for the scout's body to wither into a husk, and his skin turned into a chalky gray color. The withered body turned to dust as the man took the object back and frowned.
"The same stale taste as those at our temple," the witch said in disdain, tearing off the tendril from his right hand. "But it should do."
The witch made a large blood-red magic circle and tossed the tendril into it. A symbol appeared within the circle after the tendril was in it.
The symbol was three horizontal lines and one vertical line running through the three horizontal lines, with the ends of the vertical line curving upwards. Finally, there was a half-circle under the vertical line.
The magical circle pulsed, and a creature jumped out of it.
The creature stood about six tall, with arms and legs covered in a gray exoskin. The legs and arms were also comically bulky and covered in blood-red veins. The creature's hands ended with sharp tips and had a small, web-covered disk hanging off its wrists.
The creature's chest down to its groin was black, and in the center of its chest was a hole where a red jewel-like object sat. Strangely, the gem pulsed, and the creature's veins would glow a few seconds later.
The creature has a spider's head, with three feelers for its mouth and four black eyes.
"Spider Blooburn," the mysterious man commanded. "Collect all of these pathic witches' blood and spare no one."
The spider blooburn roared and thrust its arms out as it went for the nearest witch. That shocked the marker goers out of their stupor, and they tried to run. But the strange creature was faster than it looked, and it was on a witch before they knew what happening.
The Spider Blooburn stabbed its feelers into the witch's neck and quickly drained the person of their blood and bile, withering him into a husk. The creature dropped its first victim and moved on to its next target.
"The witches of this era may lack strength, but their blood would at least strengthen us," the man said as he made a circle and stepped through it.

"Luz, do you want to talk about it?" Amity asked as she stepped through the portal door.
The group had just returned from their chat with Camila, and things were heavy at the moment. But it wasn't the reason most were thinking. Amity and the others looked at their human friend with concern as Luz had been silent since leaving her house.
"What's there to talk about?" Luz asked, shrugging. "I get it. It wasn't easy for Mami to talk about my real dad because it was probably just as painful as when she lost Papa. I'm going full emo like last time."
Amity and Willow exchanged looks, and the plant witch looked at Hunter. The Grimwalker sighed and looked at his human friend.
"Luz," Hunter said slowly, "I don't think Amity was talking about that. I think she was talking about your dreams."
Luz stopped and looked at her friends with an expressionless face.
"Look, guys, it's nothing," the human reassured her friend, smiling.
The human put her hands behind her back and turned to face the road. Amity watched as her girlfriend began walking and sighed. She and the others hurried after the human.
"Luz," Amity seriously said, "Camila said your real dad passed away when you were just a few weeks old. And from the way you talked, you were looking through your dad's eyes in your dream. You got to find that weird."
Luz stopped, sighed, and turned to her friends. She was about to say something when she suddenly screamed. She bent over and grabbed her waist as a light shined from her abdomen.
Luz could feel something burning in her body, quickly making its way to the surface, and it felt like she would explode at any time.
"Luz!" Amity and the other screamed, rushing over to her side.
The human saw her friends approaching her, and her eyes widened in fear. She found the strength to stand and began backing away from her friends. "No!" Luz screamed, "Don't come any closer!"
The human stumbled away from her friends and slumped against a tree. Everyone was close to panicking as they saw the light glowing brighter. The other tried to get closer again but stopped when Luz screamed.
"LUZ!" Amity screamed to her girlfriend. "What's going on?"
Luz screamed again as another wave of pain shot through her. She let out another scream as a strange silver belt formed around her waist, and everyone saw that was the source of the light.
"I…Don't know!" She answered. "It feels like something is about to explode out of me and, and-GAH!"
Suddenly, the light flashed so bright it blocked Luz from sight. The light quickly died down, and they saw the human encased in a black mesh and white armor covering the chest, shoulder, and forearms. Gold bracelets and anklets appeared on her, and a gold collar with strange runes on it.
Finally, she had a black helmet with red eyes, a silver mouth plate, and small golden horns.
Luz was panting as she leaned against the tree. The others, feeling that it was somewhat safe, cautiously approached her.
"Luz?" Amity asked worryingly. "Are you okay?"
Luz's breathing started to even out, and she slowly got to her feet. She looked herself over and then looked down at the belt now at her waist.
She looked at her friends, and though none could see her face, they all knew she was confused.
"I don't-" Luz's head suddenly snapped up. "Someone…Someone's calling for help."
Without thinking, Luz ran to Amity's prototype motorcycle and hopped on. Driven by instinct, Luz started the machine and took off.
Luz's friends could only watch this happen, too overwhelmed to do much. Amity blinked three times as her brain kicked back into gear.
"Wait, Luz!" she called as she summoned her staff and took to the air.
Amity's shouts kicked anyone into action, and they also summoned their staffs. Hunter jumped onto Gus's as they all gave chase, curious as to what happened to their friend.

The Spider Blooburn continued with its rampage as it tore through the market with ease. From his spot on a building he ported to, the mysterious man watched this with a smile.
The Spider Blooburn was about to pick a young witch when the sound of an engine caught his attention. It looked behind it and saw a figure rapidly approaching. Sensing danger, the creature dropped the witch and grabbed the disk hanging off its right wrist.
The jewel in its chest pulsed, and energy surged from it. The energy traveled down the creature's arm and into the disk. The disk was coated with the energy and changed into a shield covered in webs.
The creature threw the shield when the figure came into range.
Luz saw the projectile and tried to dodge it. She tried to turn right but wasn't fast enough, and the shield struck the front of the bike. The shield dug itself into the front of the bike and glowed. Luz gasped and jumped off just as the shield exploded.
The human girl hit the ground and rolled for a few inches before she stopped. Luz moaned as she quickly got her bearings, and she gasped when she saw the husk in front of her.
Luz could feel a pit grow in her stomach as she saw the uniform the husk was wearing. She jumped to her feet and looked around. She felt like she would be sick when she saw just how many husks littered the marketplace.
She didn't get to process this as the Spider Blooburn pounced, grabbed her by the back, and threw her. Luz screamed as she hit the ground. She looked up in time to see the creature coming down on her and rolled to her right.
Luz jumped to her feet and got into a boxing stance she saw in a movie.
The Spider Blooburn charged at her and threw a punch. Luz tried to block and felt her arm erupted with pain from the impact. She flinched from the blow, and the spider creature saw this. It quickly delivered a punch to the human's gut.
Luz groaned as she doubled over, but the Spider Blooburn wasn't done; it grabbed Luz by the waist and threw her to the ground. Luz hit the ground with a grunt and felt the air leave her lungs.
Luz groaned as she tried to get her bearings. She was getting her senses back when the Spider Blooburn picked her up and threw her into a nearby building. The impact left a massive dent in the wall and kicked up enough dust that Luz was blocked from view.
A strange noise filled the air, and when the dust cloud disappeared a few seconds later, Luz was back to normal.
Luz tried to move, but her body refused to follow her commands, and she could barely see as the creature advanced on her.
Luz closed her eyes, waiting for the end. Suddenly, she remembered the student she had seen earlier and remembered that student talking about the birth of her new baby sister. Then she recalled what happened two years earlier, and an anger she hadn't felt for a long time came to the surface.
Forcing herself to fight through the pain, she pulled herself off of the wall just as the creature reached for her. She ducked under the creature's arm and put something distant between her and the Blooburn.
She looked at the creature with a fire in her eyes.
"I don't know what you are, but I wouldn't let it happen again! I wouldn't let someone take away people's happiness! I WILL FIGHT TO PROTECT THE BOILING ISLE!" Luz declared.
Suddenly, an image popped into Luz's head of a man going through a series of arm movements.
Driven by instinct, Luz thrust her hands to her waist, connecting her thumbs and index fingers. The belt from earlier appeared again, the stone in it now black.
Luz thrust her arms into new positions, her left arm resting against the top of the belt and her right arm nearly aligned with her shoulder. She slowly moved her arms until her left arm was against her side and her right arm was straight.
"HENSHIN!" Luz screamed and thrust her right hand into her left.
She pushed her left hand down, and the stone glowed red as she thrust both arms to her sides. Luz's armor, now red and with larger horns, formed from the legs up and finished with the helmet.
The blooburn was stunned by this sight but quickly recovered and charged with a battle cry. It went with a punch to the face, but Luz blocked it. She then delivered a punch to the creature's stomach.
Startled by Luz's increase in power, the creature stumbled backward, and Luz took the opening. She punched the creature in the face and began unleashing a fury of punches on the creature. Suddenly, the Spider Blooburn delivered a palm thrust into Luz's chest, breaking her rhythm.
The creature used this to put some distance between it and jumped away from Luz. It grabbed the other disk it carried and created another shield. It threw it at Luz and stuck her, exploding a second later. Luz flew through the air but recovered by going into a flip and landing on her feet.
The Blooburn charged at Luz as she was getting her bearing and tried to tackle her. Luz managed to brace herself before she was hit and kept her feet planted on the ground. She stopped the charge and delivered a knee strike to the creature's gem.
The Spider blooburn screamed loudly and stumbled backward. Luz saw the red veins flickering. That's another image that popped into her head. Like before, she followed the movement the images showed her.
She brought her arms forward, her left arm across her chest and her right arm out. She thrust them to her side as she crouched slightly. The stone on her left anklet flashed as she took off running, fire erupting under the soles of her feet.
The Blooburn recovered from whatever was affecting it and, with a roar, charged as Luz jumped into the air. She did a front flip and thrust her left leg out.
The kick connected with the gem in the creature's chest, and a strange mark appeared on the gem. Luz landed as the Blooburn went flying. It fell to the ground and flailed about as its red veins flickered. Suddenly, the gem exploded with enough power to destroy the creature a second later.
Luz kept herself ready, just in case the explosion didn't take out the creature. She relaxed, and her body changed back to normal when she saw the creature was no more.
She suddenly fell to her knees as the aftermath of the battle took hold. She was breathing heavily, and she could feel herself fading fast.
The last thing she saw before blacking out was a young Japanese man leaning against a motorcycle and smiling brightly as he gave her the thumbs-up.
(From the Notes of Flora D'spora)
I can't understand why those creatures left me alive when they killed all of my crew. To make matters worse, they took my boat, the only way off this place. So, to keep my sanity while I waited for my recuse, I decided to venture into the ruins these creatures emerged from.
Hopefully, I'll find some information about these creatures, as something tells me they could be a threat worse than Belos.
(G Corner)
I wouldn't be going into detail about Luz's Kuuga forms because they will be nearly identical to the forms you see on the show.
