Back in Shining Time, a boy named Patch had just finished painting the welcome sign to Shining Time Station. "Billy's old map sure helped, and I'm sure he's on his way now."
Patch's dog, Muttley, barked in agreement.
"He is already? You hear that train whistle before it even hears itself."
When Billy arrived, a man in a motorcycle suit came with Dynamite.
"Wait," said Billy, "You're PT Boomer."
"That's right," said Boomer, "And soon, all of this, will be mine."
"It will never be yours Boomer," said Billy.
Boomer just huffed, and got on his motorcycle and rode off to the mountains. Billy then saw Patch and said, "Fine work Patch."
"Thanks Billy," said Patch, "Hey, I looked at your old map, and I've found these things that look like railroad tracks, but I can't see any tracks around here, except the ones that you travel on." "This land is mysterious Patch, It's..."
"Magical?" Billy nodded.
"I need to get to Muffle Mountain, I promised Mr. Stone I'd clean out his yard today."
"Does Burnett, ever smile?" asked Billy.
"No," said Patch, "But I don't think he's a bad man."
"I didn't know back then, but Burnett Stone had a secret which he had only told his childhood friend, Tasha."
Burnett Stone was just in his work shop, thinking back to his past telling Tasha of the engine he had.
B: "One day Tasha, I'm going to drive this engine, and I'll take you with me."
T: "Promise you will Burnett, Promise."
B: "I Promise"
Burnett Stone then turned to his engine, who he had kept safe for many years.
The small tank engine has four small purple wheels, a small boiler, and a small coal bunker. The design of engine is only made for shunting work in the yards, and light passenger and goods work. It is painted in purple with gold, with a golden dome sitting on top of the boiler, as the top of the funnel is enlarged, and on the tanks is the name 'Lady' written in gold, and in a fancy French-like design. The cab is open and has no rear section, so the driver and fireman can see from behind."This engine, was vital to the magic that held these worlds together. But only Burnett knew that."
At Shining Time, the station manager Stacy Jones was working, when Boomer came in.
"Hello," said Boomer to Stacy, "I was wondering if you could help me find Burnett Stone."
Stacy looked at Boomer and said, "Sir, I know who you are, and I'm afraid that I have to ask you to leave."
"Just know," said Boomer, "I will own this whole valley soon."
Boomer then left, and Billy came in, just as P.T. Boomer knocked over a vase of flowers. Billy picked up the flowers and walked over to Stacy.
"That Boomer is nothing but trouble," he said.
"I know, he wants to know about Burnett Stone. Oh, that reminds me, I found an old children's drawing in the lost and found. Look at the signature Billy, Burnett Stone."
"Well, I'll be," said Billy, "I can't remember the last time Burnett smiled. He loved railroading too."
Burnett was looking at an engine that he had looked after for years. Just then, Patch came in and Burnett asked, "How did you find me?"
"I've found the entrance to your work shop ages ago," said Patch, "I just didn't enter."
"Could you flip that switch on the wall?" asked Burnett.
Patch flipped the switch to reveil a beautiful steam engine.
"I guessed there was something mysterious about this mountain," said Patch.
"All mountains have their secrets Patch," said Burnett, "Shouldn't surprise you kiddo."
"Could I help you Mr. Stone?"
"Sure, you can help me dust her off."
"Why is she locked up?"
"She's safe from harm, not locked up. I can't get her back up to steam, not since she crashed. A man named P.T. Boomer came, and he crashed her. He used up all her coal, and she just was never the same since."
Burnett then gently rubbed her dome and said, "She's as precious as gold."
On the Southern Isle...
"Pinchy, you've captured the real me," said Diesel 10, "I mean, that's beautiful. I could cry."
Just then, two BR 08 Shunter diesels rolled up to Diesel
The BR (British Railways) Class 08 is a shunter of an 0-6-0 wheel arrangement, built from 1952 to 1962. These shunters proved to be incredibly reliable and successful, and were one of the very first major mass-produced types of diesel locomotives in the UK, and are still the main switchers or shunters for the British Railways. A total of 996 were produced.
Fitted with an English Electric 6KT engine of 402 h.p and English Electric traction motors, the simplicity of these locomotives led to their extreme reliability and the large amount of spares for English Electric engines means that the locomotives will likely remain in service for a long time to come.
The first batch of locomotives were mainly built for British Railways, but were soon sold to many other numerous railways throughout the UK and Europe.
They said, "Um Boss? Yeah we're here."
"Alright alright listen up you two! I, I gotta job for you Splodge."
"Um, actually, it's Splatter," said the purple Diesel shunter.
"And Dodge," said the Lime one.
"I AIN'T GOT TIME TO SAY BOTH NAMES!" yelled Diesel 10.
"Now, what we're gonna do is this. We're gonna sabotage the steam engines, and show that we diesels are really the revolution we are!"
"Um sabotage?" asked Splatter, "Did you say the S word?"
"You mean as in interfere?" asked Dodge.
"Yeah, sabotage!" said Diesel 10.
"Um, there's one problem with that boss," said Splatter.
"Yeah, Ms. Conductor is coming, and I don't think she'll let you," said Dodge.
"I CAN DO WHAT EVER I WANT!" yelled Diesel 10, "I"ll get her too. With Pinchy!"
Diesel 10 then clanked his claw, and it then smacked him in the face.
"OW, PINCHY! I hate it when you do that!"
Splatter and Dodge then laughed at Diesel's pain.
Unknown, a certain resident 08 Shunter had also seen, only he was blue, with yellow and black stripes.
"Hmm," he hummed to himself, "I should tell the others about this."
He then rattled quietly away.
