Leaky Room Creating Stronger Bonds
Anne, Crash, and Sprig outside at the front yard and in front of one of the crop fields where they are about to do some work to help out with the farm.
"You ready?" Sprig asked.
"You set 'em up, and we'll knock 'em down." Anne said swinging her tennis racket and Crash nods excitedly.
"Okay!" Sprig said before jumping into the ground of the field as the couple get themselves ready.
Anne ready herself in a stance with her tennis racket while Crash stretch both his limbs and getting down like a runner starting position, they waited for a moment for Sprig to come up with the thing they are ready for some smacking.
And then Crash hears something coming from the ground and pointed to the left like a dog which Anne notices.
"Coming at ya." Sprig alerted as he threw a large fly out of the ground and buzzes toward Anne.
"Back!" Anne smacked the large fly away with a force to make it fly away.
"Here comes another one!" Sprig pushed another fly into the air, and it tries to attack Crash.
But Crash chuckles thinking this bug is no match for its might as he spins fast like a tornado attacking the large fly multiple times until it was sent flying away.
"Wow, you two were awesome!" Sprig complimented.
Crash pointed at the ground while gibbering to Sprig if there are any more of those large flies in the ground.
"More? Nope, I think it was just those two for now." Sprig answered.
"But again, you two were awesome!" Sprig amazed.
"Oh yeah, I was on varsity and Crash took part in a marital competition two years in a row!" Anne bragged while Crash flexes his muscles a bit.
"I have no idea what any of that means." Sprig said smiling.
And then the three friends start performing their handshake together to show their friendship out in the open followed by a laughing moment until Wally came up while playing his concertina.
"A frog child and two monsters from the woods getting along? So unnatural." Wally commented while playing an unnatural tone.
"Pssh! Of course we get along. We're Sprig and Crash and Anne." Anne smiled.
"Anne and Crash and Sprig!" Sprig said it in reverse.
Crash cheers loud and proud with his two fists in the air, and then they pose consisted of Crash taking Anne closer with one arm around her waist as she leans to the opposite side in an angle and Sprig jumps on his left shoulder with one foot on his head.
"Cripranne against the world!" Anne and Sprig chanted with Crash screaming of joy.
"Disgusting!" Wally disgusted of this and walks away and playing his concertina again.
Crash looks sad that him and the other frog people of Wartwood still don't like him and Anne just because they're different races of people from another world, this is how his grandpa warned him about how different things are treated badly by people just because they don't understand and are too afraid to even try to understand.
Suddenly they heard a loud scream that is coming from inside the house.
"Was that Hop Pop?" Anne asked surprise.
Crash gibberish worry that if Hop Pop is okay or something.
"Sounds like he's in trouble. We're coming, Hop Pop!" Sprig called out as they ran into the house and down towards Anne and Crash's room where the scream came from.
"Whoa, what happened in here?" Anne surprised.
"Hop Pop?" Sprig looked down at the water as he and Crash tries to search for Hop Pop.
And then he suddenly pops out of the water with a scream that scared Sprig and Crash.
"Stay back! Darned burrow bugs must have chewed the water pipes!" Hop Pop angered that this sort of thing happened here.
"Our room! My stuff!" Anne gasped that everything is wet and drowning right now.
"Don't worry, Anne. I saved your stuff." Hop Pop placed the pink backpack right at her feet. "Except your bed. And your blankets. And your pillow, pencils, T-shirts, hairbrush." Looking at the things that are caught in the leak.
Crash gibberish to Hop Pop if fixing this leak is going to take long.
"You wanna know if this leak is drinkable?" Hop Pop guessed on what Crash is trying to say.
"Close, he's asking if fixing this leak is gonna take long." Anne translated for her boyfriend as Crash nods.
"Well, gotta find the leak, then patch it up good." Hop Pop said.
"Oh, let me help!" Sprig offered to help and jump in only for Hop Pop to stop him from even going into the water.
"Oh, no, ya don't! This here's river water. No tellin' what creepy critters are swimmin' around." Hop Pop warned.
Unknown to them, a pair of eyes came out of the water for a second or two then went back into the water.
"Uh, so where am we gonna sleep since we both lost the basement?" Anne asked.
"Well, the living room ain't no palace, but the couch is comfy. Though you two will have to have and make room for each other given the space and size." Hop Pop suggested the living room couch.
"Uh, hello." Sprig launched his tongue on a pipe to swing up and hug onto both their legs.
"Anne and Crash can bunk with me in my room. How fun will that be?" Sprig offered to allow two humans to let them live in his room for a while.
"Roommates? Heck yeah!" Anne excitedly as she and Sprig bump their butts while Crash cheers.
"I don't know. Bein' friends is one thing, but roommates? Ya think ya know someone until they're in your space and you're in theirs, and ya can't stand how they whistle all the time, and they complain whenever ya clean your web crusties out. "Yes, I have to do it in our room! It has the best lighting!" My point is- (He sees that Anne and Sprig have already left.) And they're gone." Hop Pop noticed that the kids are gone.
Except for Crash who decided to stay behind and look at the old frog with a confused look on his face.
"Mark my words, boy. No good will come of this. No good at all." Hop Pop warned while sinking into the river water, but then Crash grabs him by the head to lift him up.
Crash gibberish pointing at himself and the water, saying he wants to go in and find the leak.
"Let me see if I got this right. You wanna help with the leak." Hop Pop guessed which Crash nodded.
"I know you're a tough boy and all, but I'm not sure if it's safe for you to go down there to find the leak." Hop Pop concerned for the boy's safety.
Crash gesture a hand saying Hop Pop has nothing to worry about and takes off his jacket and shoes before jumping into the water.
"I feel worried for that boy's mental health." Hop Pop said to himself.
Crash is swimming through the water drying to see if he can find that leak even though it can be a little tough seeing things underwater, but that won't stop him from helping his new home in any way he can.
He keeps swimming around and going deeper until he reaches the floor level as he goes around trying to touch anything that may seem like a leak.
Something is lurking behind Crash as he turns around a few times when he felt something is here though couldn't see it, he thought that maybe he was just imagining things and went back to hunting down the leak.
He was able to find it which made him smile, and then something came swimmingly fast at the human boy.
"Crash! Everything okay down there?" Hop Pop called out.
There was no response in three seconds until Crash came up like something just threw him out of the water, and two water creatures jump out after the boy to try eating him though he was able to punch them away as they splash back into the water.
"River lampreys?!" Hop Pop screamed in fear.
Crash resurfaces his head to get some air and make sure to get in a deep breath because something tells him that those things aren't letting him go.
"Be careful! They have sharp teeth that spin in their mouth! More painful when they bit you!" Hop Pop warned.
Even though Crash couldn't hear what Hop Pop was saying when he was dragged back into the water, he can already tell these watery creatures are going to get him if he doesn't act soon.
Crash got a look at these River lampreys are they are swimming around him, and one goes to take a bite out of his flesh, but the wild boy was able to react fast enough to dodge and punch it on the face of the face.
Then begins a struggling underwater battle as Crash does his best to avoid them trying to bite the boy and he counters with his own punches and kicks though it's a little hard with how dense the water is to slow down his movements.
Crash needs to think of something and fast or else he won't be able to fight them off for long, along with the fact that he'll need to take in some air again.
That's when he gets the idea of something that just might work as he forms a grin on his face.
He looks to see the River lampreys are coming at him again and this time they are doing this with each charging at him from both sides, Crash spin his body with both arms stretch outward to smack the River lampreys to tile their path and grabbing them with his hands to start spinning around and around superfast.
This forces the River lampreys to spin around in circles and Crash moves up towards the surface while still spinning like a human helicopter.
"Oh my froggy rising from below!" Hop Pop surprised.
After a few more seconds of spinning, Crash finally let's go of the water creatures throwing them right at a wall and he lands on the floating mattress.
"Amazing! I may have clearly underestimated you!" Hop Pop smiled.
Crash gave Hop Pop a thumbs up before looking back at the River lampreys that have pop themselves off the wall and swam back into the water.
Crash knew they are coming back up to try attacking him again, he just needs to be ready for them.
And then the two fish river monsters came up attacking Crash again only for him to jump over and kicked one of them to a wall.
"I'm still panicking! But go get them, Crash!" Hop Pop cheered.
"We heard screaming! What's going on?" Anne asked as she and Sprig came downstairs.
"Kids! We got two River lampreys on the loose and Crash is fighting them off, and the good news is that he's winning!" Hop Pop informed.
Crash jumps over the River lampreys a few more times and ducks under them when they keep coming up from the water and trying to eat his flesh.
"Crash, ready yourself when they come back up! Like setting up for a hit!" Sprig advised.
Crash just realizes what Sprig is talking about, thinking about back when he and Anne helped Sprig deal with the large flies back at the field. He looks around for a second until he found one pillow and quickly grabs it and ready himself with that pillow like a weapon.
Crash waited for a moment while the others on the sideline are getting worried about what may happen next, Anne clenches onto her tikki necklace praying for Crash to make it through this.
Then the two large fish creatures came out as they launch themselves toward Crash.
"Backhand!" Anne shouted.
Crash jumps at the River lampreys with his tongue sticking out and threw the pillow right at the fish monsters, knocking them back and having them crash onto a wall with a little more force.
"He did it!" Sprig smiled.
"Of course, that's my man!" Anne smiled proudly.
The two River lampreys got off from the wall again and decided it's not worth it trying to make this creature into their next meal, they wrap onto each other and spin fast like a fishy drill digging through the ground to leave the basement which causes most of the water to drain from the basement.
Crash walks off the mattress only to be greeted by Anne jumping onto him and causing him to fall backward on the remaining water.
"You just keep on being amazing!" Anne complimented and kissed him right on the lips.
"Well done, Crash. Maybe now on, I should let you do the heavy lifting." Hop Pop smiled.
Crash nods and points in one direction gibbering Hop Pop about the source of the leak he found.
"Oh, you found the leak." Hop Pop said, hoping he got that right as he walks over.
Hop Pop looks around for a bit until he finds the leak which is a big hole that explains where all that extra water is coming from.
"Found it, now I just need to patch it up and this room will be good as new. Except for the water, we're gonna have to dry it up somehow." Hop Pop said.
"Thanks to Crash finding the leak, and dealing with the River lampreys, this should be usable again in about a day, two at the most." Hop Pop informed.
"Okay then, you two can crash with me!" Sprig joked using Crash's name making him laugh.
"Hey, did I just miss something exciting?" Polly asked.
"Yeah." Anne answered while Crash nodded.
"Totally missed the whole thing." Sprig nodded.
"It was something else." Hop Pop commented.
"Oh yeah, I'll have to make sure I don't miss out on the exciting thing the next time that happens here." Polly declared before hopping away.
Sprig lead the human couple up to his bedroom as the two are impressed with the place.
"Whoa. Awesome digs, Sprig." Anne complimented.
"Thanks. I'll give you the grand tour." Sprig offered as he hops over to one shelf.
"Let's start with the crown jewels." Sprig gestured over to his three toys.
"Oh, cool. A doll collection." Anne commented in a teasing way.
Crash gibberish at Anne that these are clearly action figures with some great features of their own and have been carefully taken care of by Sprig,
"If you're saying that my action figures are awesome, then you are right! I treasure these little guys like they were—"
"Incoming!" Anne shouted as she smacked a pillow on Sprig knocking him down.
"What was that?" Sprig asked shock.
"What? Haven't you ever had a pillow fight before—" But then Sprig counters with a pillow smack of his own.
"Heads up!" Sprig yelled.
"Oh, it's on!" Anne grinned.
And then Crash comes in smacking both of them in the face with one pillow in each hand, everyone starts having a lot of fun with the pillow fighting and one strike almost hits one of Sprig's action figures.
"Oops! Just gonna move General Bogbreath safely over here." Sprig moved on toy on the higher shelf.
"Yeah, gotta keep that doll out of harms way—" Anne was hit in the head by Crash again who is laughing.
The pillow fighting continues on until they all went to bed with Crash and Anne sleeping on the spare mattress and Sprig sleeping on his own bed.
"So, Sprig, would you rather sweat melted cheese or always smell like skunk?" Anne asked.
"Uh, sweat melted cheese. Frogs don't sweat, so I'd be cheese-free." Sprig answered with his eyes feeling heavy.
"Frogs don't sweat? Uh, jealous!" Anne surprised.
Crash looks over to see that Sprig is fast asleep and realizes something, he quickly took out a sleeping mask and earmuffs, he walks over to Sprig putting them over his head to block out Anne's nightly things.
"Aren't those your things when we sleep together?" Anne asked.
Crash gibberish to Anne that he would also give those to her for sleeping through the rough nights in the cave and the bugs always creeping around.
"Oh yeah, glad we don't have to worry about that anymore." Anne chuckled, she kissed Crash on the cheek before turning on a lantern and read her book while Crash went to sleep.
"Shit, it feels hot in here." Anne complained a little, feeling the heat in this room.
KO a new chapter is done and hope you all enjoy it!
This episode ended differently because Crash was able to fight off those nasty fish creatures on his own and even helped find the leak, guess the only problem thing that may happen is right the hot-cold argument though that may not be that much of an issue.
