After serving the last patron for the night, Haley turned the open sign over to close and started to wipe down the bar and the tables before picking the kids up from Deb's. Haley usually drops the kids off at Nathan's but since Nathan had to leave town for a basketball conference, she wasn't going to let them stay with Renee, even if it was only for one night.

" Sorry, we're closed." Haley said as she heard the door of the cafe opening.

" I know, but we need to talk." Renee said as she walked into the cafe.

Without looking up, Haley snorted and shook her head. "I really have nothing to say to you." She said as she continued wiping down the last table.

" Well, I got something to say to you. I don't know what you're up to. But stay the hell away from Nathan. He's not your husband anymore. You divorced him. He's not your's anymore. He's mine." Renee said getting her point across as she crossed her arms over her chest.

Haley scoffs as she shook her head as she looked up and faced Renee. "You do realize that Nathan is the father of our children, right? And if you haven't noticed, I haven't really been around Nathan since I came home. Sadly, true, he's not mine anymore, thanks to you, of course."

" Thanks to me? You're the one who walked out on him."

" That's because he cheated on me with you and you ended up pregnant. So yeah, I did walk out on him because I couldn't forgive him for what he did. But you know what? All of that shit doesn't even matter anymore, he's with you now. He's not my problem anymore." Haley said as she shrugs her shoulders little.

" Good, then you can stay clear of him. Don't make me come back here." Renee said before walking out of the cafe.

Haley scoffed rolling her eyes as she didn't take Renee's threat seriously. After she was done cleaning up and after she made all the cash was in the cash register. Haley walked out of the cafe and locked up before heading over to Deb's to pick up Jamie and Lydia.

The next morning After Haley started the coffee, she heard a knocking coming from her front door. Haley sighs softly as she walked out of the kitchen out into the living room. Opening the door Haley noticed Nathan standing outside her front porch.

"Nathan, what are you doing here?" She asked, not expecting to see him especially this early in the morning.

" I heard Renee paid you a visit last night. I just wanted to check on you and see if you were okay." Nathan said softly as he was concerned for Haley." Can I come in?"

Haley nods her head as she moves to the side and lets Nathan in. "Want some coffee?" She asked as she walked back into the kitchen.

" Yeah thanks." Nathan answered as he followed Haley into the kitchen and took a seat by her kitchen Island." Where's Keller?"

"He's still upstairs sleeping. So what did Renee end up telling you?"Haley asked as she set a cup of coffee in front of him, taking a sip of her own coffee.

" Nothing, all she said was that she had a friendly conversation."

Haley exhales with a scoff as she sets her cup down." I really wouldn't call it a friendly conversation. She came to the cafe to tell me that I should stay away from you, and to remind me... that you're not mine anymore." She said softly.

" Hales..."

Haley shook her head as she smiled softly. "Nathan, it's okay. I know you're not mine anymore. I mean, you haven't been mine for two years now. So I'm okay with it. I've moved on." She said as she took another sip of her coffee.

Nathan shook his head. "That's not what I was gonna say. Renee didn't have the right to tell you to stay away from me. We have kids together. We both have to be there for Jamie and Lydia. Renee is just going to have to deal with it."

Haley nods her head little." okay."

" Mom's having a barbeque this weekend."

" Yeah, I know. She sort of invited us, but I told her I'd think about it."

" Just come anyways. Everyone is gonna be there and I would love to see you and the kids there." Nathan said as he really wanted his family there. He and Haley may not be married anymore, but no matter what she and his kids will always be his family.

" Well, I know Jamie and Lydia would love to be there." Haley said as she thought about it for a moment. She then exhaled deeply as she nodded her head." Okay, we'll be there."

Nathan grins as he is happy that Haley agreed to go." Great, I will see you guys there." He said as he finished his coffee and got up from the barstool.

" What about Renee?"

Nathan shook his head once more." Don't worry about Renee. I will deal with her. I gotta go, I gotta meet up with Clay. Bye Hales." Nathan said softly as he leans forward and kissed her cheek softly before walking out of the kitchen and out her front door before closing the door behind him.

Haley exhales and chuckles softly as she runs her fingers through her hair. She honestly can't believe she agreed to go to Deb's barbeque this weekend. Haley knows it would be good for Jamie and Lydia to be there. She's just not too sure if she really wants to be around Renee.

" Hey." Chris said as he walked into the kitchen a few seconds later. He walked behind her and wrapped his arm around her waist. He leaned down and kissed her shoulders gently.

" Hey." Haley said softly with a smile as soon as she felt his lips against her shoulder." There's coffee."

" Mmmmm, thanks babe." Chris said as he kissed her lips gently before letting her go when he noticed there were two coffee cups sitting on the kitchen Island." Who was here?"

"Oh, Nathan came by earlier." Haley said as she grabbed both coffee cups and walked towards the sink, setting them down after rinsing them out.

" What was he doing here?" Chris asked as he poured himself a cup of coffee.

"He heard about what happened last night and wanted to check on me." Haley shrugged her shoulders a little.

"Well, I guess that was nice of him." Chris said, taking a sip of his coffee as he leaned back against the counter.

" Yeah, and he invited us to go over to Deb's this weekend for a barbecue."

" Really? What did you tell him?" Chris asked.

" Well, I told him we'll be there. I mean he's right; it would be good for the kids to be there."

Chris nods his head little." Then you should take them babe." He said in agreedment.

"Come with us." Haley said, really hoping Chris would join them.

"Are you sure Deb will be okay with me being there?" Chris asked, raising his brow for a moment.

"I'm sure Deb won't mind if you come. She knows that Nathan and I have both moved on and that there are other people in our lives. She'll be fine with it." Haley said as she stepped closer and leaned up, kissing him gently.

"I will think about it. I gotta get to the studio." Chris said as he kissed her back and before setting his cup in the sink."I will see you later, babe." He said as he grabbed his car keys and jacket and walked out of the kitchen and out the front door.

Watching Chris walk out the door, Haley blew out a breath as she really hoped Deb would be okay with Chris being there. She already knew how everyone else would feel about him being there. But the only person she cared about was Deb, and her thoughts about Haley inviting Chris to her barbecue this weekend.
