Chapter 15

Kira glanced around nervously as she stood on school field, two Tyrannodrones holding her arms to keep her in place.

"Your team will be here soon." Zeltrax snapped as he turned to look at her. "Don't worry. I'll let you see Tommy again before I destroy him." She wanted to snap back at him, but the tape over her mouth meant that she could only glare at him. She heard the revving on engines and looked up to see her team on their bikes and ATVs skid to a stop.

"Let her go, Zeltrax!" Tommy yelled as they jumped off their vehicles and stood in a line in front of them. Tommy looked at Kira and saw her shaking her head, making him frown under his helmet.

"Tommy. Come to save the girl, as always." Zeltrax hissed.

"What do you want with Kira?" Conner asked, seeing Kira begin to struggle against the Tyrannodrones.

"I want her to watch you fail." Zeltrax hissed. "Tyrannodrones, Attack!" They slipped into fighting stances as the Tyrannodrones ran at them.

"Tommy, get to Kira." Conner said as they all began fighting. Kira watched as her team fought the Tyrannodrones, Zeltrax not moving from next to where she was being held. She watched him as he analysed the Rangers, wondering what he was planning when one of the Tyrannodrones holding her suddenly flew backwards, followed by the other.

"What?" Zeltrax hissed in shock before he got hit in the chest, sending him flying backwards. Kira watched in shock before breathing a sigh of relief as Tommy appeared in front of her, having used his invisibility to sneak up on them.

"Hey, I got you." He whispered, pulling the tape off her mouth. "Are you alright?"

"I'm fine." She breathed, only for her eyes to widen. "Tommy!" She cried as Zeltrax grabbed him and threw him away from her before grabbing her arm and pulling her to him.

"You didn't think I'd just let you take her back, did you?" Zeltrax hissed as Tommy got back on his feet, holding his Brachio Staff at his side. "Tommy Oliver, always rescuing the damsel in distress."

"Who said I'm a damsel." Kira snapped before lifting her foot and stamping on Zeltrax's, jamming her elbow into his side. He growled and threw her to the side, causing her to fall on her side and barely avoid hitting her head on the ground as she couldn't use her arms to break her fall.

"Kira!" Tommy called. He started to move towards her, but froze when Zeltrax moved his sword to press against Kira's side as she lay on the ground. "Please, you're angry at me, Smitty, not Kira! Let her go and do whatever the hell you want to me!"

"Tommy, no!" Kira called, only to gasp in pain as Zeltrax grabbed her left arm and pulled her arm, catching the PICC line as he threw her to two Tyrannodrones that joined them.

"I will end you, Tommy Oliver!" Zeltrax snapped before swinging his sword at Tommy, who only just reacted in time to block it with his staff. Kira watched anxiously as the two fought, Tommy seeming to struggle as Zeltrax's anger fuelled his attacks. Tommy was about to perform a wind strike to give himself enough time to get to Kira, when Zeltrax struck him across the chest with his sword and delivered a strong kick to his chest, sending him flying back into the school building, knocking him out of morph as he fell to the floor unconscious.

"No! Tommy!" Kira cried, struggling against the Tyrannodrones.

"Tommy!" Conner, Ethan and Trent called, finishing their fights and running over to the fallen Ranger. Ethan crouched next to him as Conner and Trent stood in front of them with their weapons raised. Trent looked at Kira and knew that the only reason she was still on her feet was because of the Tyrannodrones holding her.

"Tommy!" She called as Ethan looked up and gave her a small nod, letting her know that although Tommy was unconscious and more than likely injured, he was alive.

"Let Kira go!" Conner snapped, his concern for the girl he considered a sister rising as he noticed how heavy her breathing had become. Zeltrax turned to Kira and saw the tears streaming down her face.

"Please." She breathed, her eyes still locked on Tommy.

"I told you I would let you see him one more time." He hissed before looking at the Tyrannodrones. "Get her out of here."

"No!" Conner and Trent called, taking a step forward as a portal opened up.

"No! Tommy!" Kira cried as they took her through the portal. They came out in the main control room in the Island fortress and the Tyrannodrones let go of Kira's arms, causing her to fall to her knees on the floor.

"Pathetic." Zeltrax hissed as one of the Tyrannodrones cut the ropes on her arms. She looked up with a glare as the Tyrannodrones all left the room. Before Zeltrax could move, she launched herself at him.

"You monster!" She yelled as she threw him against the console, her anger giving her an energy boost. However it wasn't enough, as Zeltrax regained his footing and grabbed her arm, throwing her across the room. She hit the wall and fell to the floor with a groan. She slowly pushed herself to her feet and stood with one hand on the wall, glaring at Zeltrax across the room.

"You let your emotions get the better of you." He said, making her look at him in shock.

"What?" She gasped trying to control her breathing and ignore the dizziness she felt. "First you kidnap me, then you almost kill my boyfriend, throw me across the room, and now you're criticising me?"

"Emotions make you weak." He snapped, moving towards her.

"No they don't." She snapped at him. "If that was the case, then you would be the weakest among us."

"I have no emotions." He snapped as he kept moving towards her.

"Then what is the anger you're feeling?" She asked, making him pause. "Mesagog may have taken away most of your emotions, but he left the anger, the rage. And you let it consume you!"

"How is hate weak?" He snapped.

"Because it makes you narrow minded." She hissed. "I asked you before what you'd do if you won. Have you found the answer yet?"

"Your love for the team makes you weak." He growled, making her laugh slightly.

"No it doesn't." She replied, shaking her head to try and clear her thoughts. "You would do anything for the ones you love. You'd die to keep them safe. There is nothing weak about that." He watched her carefully, not willing to admit that her words affected him and saw that she was struggling to control her breathing and seemed to be using the wall to keep herself upright.

"You should sit down." He snapped, making her eyes widen slightly. She tried to come up with something to say, but she was finding it difficult to concentrate and stumbled slightly. The last thing she saw before her eyes closed was Zeltrax coming towards her.

Zeltrax grabbed Kira before she hit the floor and lowered her down, feeling an unusual emotion inside as he stood and watched the unconscious Ranger. He walked over to the console and pressed a button, scanning her and looking at the results. He knew that if he was still human, he would be frowning right now as he looked back at Kira. He huffed before walking over to her and picked her up. He carried her through the fortress and back to her cell, laying her down on the bench in there. He started to leave before stopping, looking back at her before leaving, coming back a moment later with a blanket he found from when Elsa was evil. He lay the blanket over Kira and watched her for a moment before leaving, locking the cell behind him.

"Get him on the bed." Hayley ordered as Conner, Ethan and Trent walked into the lab, Ethan and Conner carrying the still unconscious Tommy. They gently lifted him onto the bed and Hayley ushered them out of the way so she could scan him.

"Zeltrax slashed his chest with his sword and kicked him into a building." Conner said as they took their helmets off.

"If he's strong enough to knock Tommy unconscious and out of morph with one kick, what is he doing to do to Kira?" Trent asked, making them all share worried looks.

"Let's not think about that now." Ethan said.

"Tommy's going to be fine." Hayley said, stepping away from him. "He hit his head and has a mild concussion. Once he's awake he'll be alright."

"Until he finds out Zeltrax still has Kira." Trent grumbled.

"Hey guys." They all jumped and looked at the stairs to see Anton walking down into the lab, only to freeze when he saw three half morphed Rangers, an unconscious Tommy and a missing Kira. "What's going on?"

"Zeltrax has Kira." Ethan said, making Anton's eyes widen. "And he knocked Tommy unconscious."

"We thought that you might be able to help us find the Island." Conner said, bringing the map Tommy found earlier over and putting it on the table.

"What use would that be?" He asked as he walked over.

"We can use Kira's Zord to get to the Island and get her out." Trent said, only to sigh at the look Anton gave him. "You don't know where it is, do you?"

"Not anymore." He said, making them all sigh. "I'm sorry. I think Mesagog erased my memories of where the Island was. I don't remember much from when I was him anymore."

"It's fine, Dad." Trent said, even though his face showed his disappointment. "But is there anything you remember about Zeltrax that could help us?"

"When Tommy wakes up, yes." Anton said, making them all frown. "I wrote down everything I did as Mesagog before I forgot about them. I gave the books to Tommy to keep safe once you defeated him."

"Ok, so maybe we'll be able to find something that'll help us." Ethan said. "He isn't activating the portal network long enough for us to get through, but maybe we can find a way to get to him."

"What, like Kira was trying to do?" Hayley asked with a frown.

"Maybe." Ethan said, looking at the notebook Kira had been writing in. "It looks like she was trying to find a way to reach Smitty, maybe Anton's notes will help us find what she was looking for."

"And then what?" Conner asked as he started pacing. "We just let him do whatever the hell he's doing to Kira and pray he shows up again?"

"We have no choice." They heard Tommy groan. They turned and saw Tommy sat up on the bed, slightly hunched over. "We have to hope that Kira can look after herself until we can get to her."

"Alright. Let's get those books then." Anton said, making Tommy nod as he stood up, trying to believe his words more than anything.
