-The Sith'ari Prophecy
Chapter 6
Location: Berav, New Captial of the Planet Kesh
Grand Lord Takaris Yur was jolted awake from his bed with one word trapped on his lips:
"V e s t a r a!"
He had not thought of Vestara, his once star pupil, for some time. And why would he; The Khai family were traitors to the lost tribe.
"We we're all traitors to the lost tribe" he thought as memories of Abeloth and the last great masquerade came unbidden to his mind.
They were so Naïve. That didn't stop them from acting like good little Lost Tribe Sith: Arrogant, and deserving of Victory. They had forgot this most basic truths of the Sith Creed: "... Through Strength, I gain Power. Through Power, I gain Victory. Through Victory, my Chains are Broken."
Abeloth and the Jedi showed them they were not strong. Their Lack of power was disturbing. Yet they still EXPECT VICTORY??!!
Despite being defeated at every small skirmish, the lost Tribe persisted onward, thinking they could put a leash and muzzle on Abeloth. The Result: The entire Glass City of Tahv, with its population of 8 million souls was ripped to shreds and melted by Abeloths rage. To this day the city lay desolate with the dead still entombed within the glass... no other word for it: Blob. Judging by the small columns of rank smoke, the fires were still consuming anything not made of glass: wood, metal... flesh. The people of Kesh can't even look in the direction of Tahv, not because of unsithlike feelings of guilt or shame, but out of hatred. Hatred for the stupidity of the dead for allowing themselves to killed by Abeloth.
But Grand Lord Yur Knew. He knew that the blood spilled was their (as in the Dark Circle's) doing. And although reluctant, he had pressed on with the rest of the circle with a plan that they should have realized was doomed. Trying to take over the Galaxy with an Armada and crew that were as weak and wet as a nest of newly hatched Uvak was beyond madness. Yes, it seemed impressive: At one point there where almost 8,000 Sith on Coruscant. They had near total control of the Senate and were residing in the Jedi Temple. But like the Poor City of Tahv it was a beautiful glass illusion of strength. In the end, the then Grand Lord was killed and most of the circle of Lords with him. Not one Sith remained alive on Coruscant and their "impressive little Armada was stripped to just a few Ships.
Yes They Did this to themselves.
He thought: "We struck too soon before our Strength and Power were complete. Our lack of patience had killed more Sith then Vestara Khai and Luke Skyw..."
At the mental mention of Luke's name, the Grand Lord's eyes widened, his hands desperately turned into balled fists around his bed sheets, trying to hold on from the fall he was experiencing... in his mind. He was caught again in the vision of the force that had abruptly woke him up. Whether the vision had chose to visit him again, or the mention of Vestara and Luke's name had triggered the all too vivid memory, making him relive the vision, he didn't know.
This was what Grand Lord Takaris Yur saw:
Vestara Khai walking toward him in the Sith Temple Courtyard. Behind her was a dark ominous being who was undoubtedly the most powerful Sith the Galaxy had ever known. The figure was like a living shadow with substance, having no recognizable face but the Dark side power pouring out of him marked him as Sith... So... Powerful. In his Vision he nearly was overcome by the intensity of the power coming from the "Shadow creature." Vestara however walked toward Lord Yur without a care in the galaxy. Like she was unimpressed by it or not able to recognize it.
It was at this point a thick and deadly darkness began to enclose him, interrupted by blinding flashes of lightning . Instead of the booms of thunder he heard a sizzling hiss, that kept getting louder. As he kept listening he recognized the hiss was actually the sound of a hundred of voices speaking at different frequencies. And they were all repeating, each one to the beat of a different tempo, the same word over and over: " SITH'ARI... SITH'ARI.." The words became a roar and then... It was silent. Deafeningly Silent.
The darkness was then slowly eaten away by Bright sunshine: Kesh sunshine. His surroundings came into focus : A Beach bordered by thick Jungle. A spot, he recognized as not 10 minutes from his bed. A man approached him, it was: ...
L u k e S k y w a l k e r. As the Dark Robed Jedi approached him, Luke's skin begin to glow. It got brighter and brighter until, what looked like blue flame engulfed him. Luke, however, did not look in pain. He simply kept walking toward Lord Yur with determination. At a certain point Luke became so bright that Yur senses overloaded and then: The Vision was over.
When the vision was complete Lord Yur Was left drenched in sweat and gasping for air. The force had never shared anything so clear and powerful before. What was the meaning of this vision? Vestara Khai would be back?
Could she be the prophesied Sith'ari?
Could She be bringing the long awaited Sith'ari: Luke Skywalker?
Did Vestara turn him to the Dark-side?
After catching his breath and calming his thoughts he rose from his bed. The circle of Lords needed to know... something... was near.
Location: Hyperspace
V e s t a r a? . . . V e s t a r a? . . . Vestara!
With a Jolt Vestara escaped the fog of the vision she had been dropped into. Someone's Voice had brought her back to ...
"Lady Khai, I had lost contact with you" came the voice of Ship. "You seem distressed, do you require medical attention Lady Khai? Vestara ?"
Finally enough breath had entered her lungs so she could respond: "I'm ... Ok.. I'm ok Ship."
The images would be ever burned into her mind. She saw herself walking toward herself, as impossible as that sounds... Behind her a disturbingly powerful entity trailed. Next came the Lightning flashes in the Dark, with the weird voices reciting: "Sith'ari... Sith'ari... The closing image was that of Master Skywalker walking towards her as he was aflame with a strange blue light that got brighter until the vision lifted.
"What was the Vision Lady Khai?" Ship asked, betraying that although he was in contact with her through the force, the vision was her's and her's alone.
She didn't want to tell him the details of the dream until she could figure out what it meant. Ship, she knew, had a nasty habit of being overprotective or taking too much initiative when it came to what he thought was the right course. But she couldn't lie. He would sense it. The first thing that came to mind was that she would be back on Kesh, the setting was unmistakably Kesh. But the rest?... She knew it was something good for Kesh... Either she would return to her People as the long awaited Sith'ari or... She would return to her people and deliver Skywalker to their hands. He would be turned to the Dark-side and could be the most powerful Sith who has ever lived. To say that She was excited would be woefully inadequate: Every cell in her body was abuzz with something it had be without for too long: Strength and Power... REAL POWER. In her mind it was a given now. She had seen herself on Kesh, and she had a purpose, no a destiny on Kesh.
The only Part of that Image that ... Scared? .. her (was that the right word?) was the shadowy creature behind her. Whether that Sith Lord behind her was Vestara or Master Skywalker she couldn't tell. All she knew was this:
That was a terrifying amount of power for one person to possess, this and this alone gave her pause.
In answer to Ship's question she said: " It was about Kesh... we make it back to Kesh, Ship.. And good things are in store for us there..."
Location: Jedi Outpost on Shedu Maad.
Luke and Dena were walking towards each other in the quiet hallway between the Mess-Hall and the living Quarters. He was headed back to his room while she was headed for her late lunch with an armful of datapads, folders and flimsy. As they got closer, the awkwardness grew exponentially.
The first time they met, she had betrayed Lando, Han and Leia and Himself to her Creators, The Qrephs. Her actions unknowingly led to the deaths of thirty thousand people. Just thinking about it made it hard for him to remember to breath. But at the same time, even in those dark times she did show the promise of a good heart. Being an artificially constructed biological creature (a biot), she had been programmed to be loyal to the Qreph's and their schemes, but it was clear to Luke she fought it; even if she wasn't entirely successful. And In "the here and now" her goodness burned bright as did Saba's trust in her. Luke and Dena would just have to get past first impressions if they were going to be working together.
" Dena..."
"Master Sky..."
They of course began by talking over each other.
She decided to take the reigns ("Thank the Force" he thought): "I'm glad for the opportunity to get off on the right foot Master Skywalker, I look forward to proving my self to you!"
As they neared each other they both paused their forward motion. He was able to regain a fraction of his old confidence, but it was enough.
"Dena, I can tell you mean that, but I want you to know: you don't have anything to prove. It's I who look forward to see all the progress you've made." He replied.
"Thank you" she said breathlessly while pushing a piece of hair from her eyes, even though there was no hair in front of her eyes, and continued: "well, I got to go for some lunch before it's all gone.."
"Yes... uh... enjoy" he said with a shaky grin that took about 40 years off him.
At that, they passed each other. That's when everything went black and Luke began to fall...
L u k e!... L u k e!...
On the third "Luke!" He was able to lock on to the familiar voice, while gasping for air. In a breath or two, his eyes were able to focus on a face staring down at him. It was Dena. He looked around... She was holding him up off the floor and his hands had fisted into balls around her blouse and Jacket. Surrounding them both on the floor, was a scattering of flimsy, datapads, and folders.
"Luke" She said with a worried face that was becoming more hopeful with every steady breath that left him.
"A.. Vision... I had a Vision."
It was then that the contents of the vision spilled out from his shaky lips: Vestara (known to her as Savara), the Powerful Shadowy creature behind her, the whispers of Sith'ari, and himself bursting into a burning blue flash.
He then realized: "Dena, I have to tell the Masters."
He said this as if he was a criminal that was about to confess his secret crimes to the judge. He went to rise but she pulled him back down.
"Wait!" she cried out, startling Luke and herself.
"Sorry...I mean wait... just ... don't tell them yet."
He looked at her, feeling like he did when he was hanging, handless and exhausted from the underside of cloud city, and said:
"Dena you know what I saw! I'm... I'm... Scared! I... I don't know what it means."
She responded with: "Don't you think you should know what it means before you tell them... before you scare them? Luke, you don't know what it's been like here the past year. Everything you say or don't say effects everyone here. Everything you do or don't do shapes their world... believe me they're ... they're not ready for this; not until you know what to do."
He looked at her grasping the truth of her words, then he said: "But what if...what if I'm a monster?"
All she said to that was: "I believe in you Luke Skywalker."
and in that moment he could to tell she did. With that he allowed her to quietly help him through the deserted halls back to his room. So the Masters were not told of the vision, and the future that followed would prove that decision to be right or... devastatingly wrong.
