Between Red and Yellow

"If you don't mind- I think I'll go ahead and let this first move be yours." Bastion hummed, "I am a gentleman after all~"
"Why Thank you, Good sir~ How very kind!" Said Connar with a giggle as she drew her first card. She swiped her arm back from her deck and a wave of diziness washed over her, but she tried to shake it off and simply ignore it.
"I...I summon White Magician Pekeru, in attack mode!" she stated, "Next I'll place one card face down, and end my turn!"
White Magician Pekeru **
ATK: 1200
DEF: 0
"In attack mode?" Bastion blinked, with a soft blush on his cheeks.
I suppose it's fitting that a girl like Connar would have such a cute card in her deck-
"Er-" He blushed even further and shook his head
That's not what I should be thinking right now- Pekeru is not high on attack strength...so...Why would she do that? I mean, I know it has a healing effect...but...
He smirked.
Oh well, I'm not one to let a mistake go easy!
He thought as he drew his card.
"I summon The Gemini Elf! In Attack Mode!" he stated, "Prepare yourself girlie!" said Bastion, "I'll teach you not to leave a child on the Duel Field un-attended!"
Gemini Elf ****
ATK: 1900
DEF: 900
"Activate trap card!" said Connar, "Negate Attack!"
"What!?"
As Bastion's monster charged in, he found it stopped short by a wall of a swirling barrier.
"With this trap card, your attack is haulted, and the battle phase ended."
"Yes Yes, I'm aware of what it does." He huffed.
Blimey- my own fault for allowing myself to get distracted- I forgot about her face down!
"...I end my turn."
"Then it's my turn!" said Connar, "Draw-NGH!" She grunted as she suddenly felt her heart constrict and the sound of distant whispers filled her ears.
No...Not again...!
"Connar!?" Bastion called out, "Are you all right!?"
"I'm fine!" she huffed with a quick swipe from her deck, trying to pack down the voices that screamed in her head, "You'll learn soon enough not to go against me in a match of Spell Casters~" During the stand By Phase, a light took to her and suddenly her Life points increased by 400.
Connar Rose K: 4000- 4400
"Of course." Bastion sighed
"It's Pekeru's Special Effect." Connar stated, "As long as Pekeru is on the field, during my stand by phase, my life points increase by 400 for every monster I have out...and that includes herself!"
"Indeed I'm aware." he chuckled, "You're building up your life points for something my dear~ To say I'm not curious would be a lie!"
Connar grinned, trying to mask the pain she was feeling in her chest
"Then next...I summon out Ebon Magician Curran, in attack mode!"
Ebon Magician Curran **
ATK: 1200
DEF: 0
"I'll place another card face down and end my turn." she said.
Things are laying out so far so good...
She thought to herself.
Now...we wait.
"Again!?" Bastion blinked and huffed.
So she has Curran AND Pekeru out now...
He thought to himself.
I better be careful not to allow her to get me twice.
"I DRAW!" said Bastion, and a smirk curled on his lips, "I summon out Sabersaurus!"
Sabersaurus ****
ATK: 1900
DEF: 500
"I'm not sure how Connie's gonna get out of this..." said Syrus.
"Don't count her out yet, Sy!" said Jaden.
"He's right, Syrus." said Zane, "Remember Connar still has a face down on the field...and forgetting to take into account what's on the field could wind up being Bastion's downfall if he's not careful."
"Yeah, but Bastion is top of the class- and could negate whatever Connar may have." he stated, "Not to mention his two monsters are way stronger than both of her Magicians!"
"You're right." said Jaden, "He could totally taker her out~ We'll find out!"
"Activate trap!" said Connar, "Waboku!"
"What!?"
Of course she had another trigger trap!
As Connar flipped her face down, three cloaked beings took to the field and absorbed Bastion's attack.
"With Waboku, all attack damage is reduced to zero!" she explained, "Better luck next time~" she stated.
"Yes, I'm aware...Dammit!" Bastion huffed as he looked through his hand again.
What is on with me, I am completely off my game...My Formulas - grrh...
He growled to himself.
Calm down chap...she can't keep blocking forever, she's playing incredibly cautious...
I should commend her on that.
He hummed
Patience...
"...I end my turn..." he muttered.
"My turn, then" said Connar, "I Draw!"
Her eyes skimmed through her cards as she pondered her next move.
"Ahh!" Bastion let out a cry as suddenly his life points dropped by 600 while Connar's increased by 800.
Bastion Misawa: 4000- 3400
Connar Rose K.: 4000- 4800
"That is thanks to Ebon Magician Curran!" said Connar, "Just like how Pekeru increases my life points by 400 for every monster on my field during each stand by phase, Curran will decrease YOURS by 300 for every monster on YOUR side!"
"Those pesky magician girls are really getting on my nerves!" Bastion muttered.
I've I forgot about Curran's ability too- I have got to find a way to get rid of them and SOON! Otherwise MY life points will only DECREASE while Connar's INCREASE!
He huffs.
She's got a good heal and burn going...a pain indeed-
Connar skimmed her hand carefully.
I still don't have what I need...
She thought to herself.
But there IS something I can do-
She winced as she felt her heart constrict and bound against her as the voices tried to make themselves heard once again, continuing to pack them away she swiped two cards from her hand.
"I'll place- I'll place a card face down!" she said shakily, " Then, I'll summon out Injection Fairy Lily!"
Injection Fairy Lily ***
ATK: 400
DEF: 1500
Again with these cutsey cards!?
Bastion thought to himself.
She uses weaker cards in a unique offensive way! Simply Magnificent! But-
He sighed.
At this rate, my Bottomless trap Hole may as well be completely useless!
Just wasted card space!
He huffed as he brought his Duel Disk up to look at the field lay out.
And to leave leave Lily in Attack mode...I'm certain to come into some pain very soon! But...
He stares a while at Connar...
She seems to be struggling...is she...really all right?

Connar, What the Hell!?
Chazz huffed slamming a boot against the back of the seat in front of him.
What is going on with you!? I want to see you at your best- Not here fighting against your health!
Is she sick!?

"...Why did Connar play Lily in attack mode?" asked Syrus, "With 400 attack it's not like she can do anything...she would just hurt herself."
"You would think." said Jaden, "But Lily there actually has a special ability that can change all of that!"
"Really!?"
"That's right." said Zane "And with Connar's life point build up, if done wisely, she can activate that ability of Lily's a couple times!"
"Got that right." said Alexis, "Now the life point build up makes sense."
"I choose...to attack!" said Connar as she thrusted her arm forward and her life points dropped drastically from 4800 to 2800.
Connar Rose K.: 4800- 2800
Injection Fairy Lily ***
ATK: 400- 3400
DEF: 1500
"Here it comes...!" said Bastion gritting his teeth
"That's right!" said Connar, "By paying 2000 life points, I can increase Injection Fairy Lily's Attack by 3000 during the battle phase!" she stated, "And I'm gonna bring all her extra points in a smack down on Gemini Elf!" she declared, "Only One Spell Caster User will rule this field!" she grins, though not without a few clenches of a fist over her chest.
"Ahhhh!" Bastion cried out as Lily's syringe shot straight through his Gemini Elf right into his chest, draining his life points by 1500 as his creature turned to dust.
Bastion Misawa: 3400-1900
Connar Rose K.: 2800
A long whistle sounded from Jaden's lips as before he laughed, "Talk about Big Damage!" he beamed, "This Duel is so Sweet!"
"That will do for my turn." said Connar while Bastion heaved as he swiped a card from his deck.
"Well it's my turn now, Connar!" said Bastion
"Don't forget to pay the 300 point toll to Curran for your Stand By Phase!" said Connar as Bastion's life points dropped to 1600.
Bastion huffed.
Brilliant...
He thought to himself.
I can't just attack willy nilly- If I try to take out her Lily She will just activate its effect again...ultimately wiping me out.
I'll have to go for her other magicians...
Though it didn't do much good...
As Connar Suddenly seemed...a bit different...
"...Ms. Connar?" Bastion called out to her, "Are you all right?"
Bu she didn't respond.
She froze up as a ringing in her ears turned to static...and then silence.

"I'm impressed how she seems to be ruling the Duel Field with such weak monsters." Said Alexis.
"Connar has always been known to duel rather simply." said Zane, "But it's the way she uses that simplicity to her gain, that makes her such a reckonable Duelist."
"No kidding." said Alexis, " The way she used the effects of Pekeru and Curran to her advantage by protecting them from being destroyed was uncanny." she blinked, "Not to mention thanks to Pekeru's extra Life boosts, She was also able to turn Injection Fairy Lily into a power house to her advantage without too much risk to her life points because Pekeru can just heal them back up."
"Exactly." said Zane, "That's always been Connar's strategy base..." he blinked, "She uses weaker monsters and protects them, allowing her to make the weak strong."
"HaHa...it's kinda funny." said Alexis, "In a way...Connar's deck...is a lot like her personality." The blonde hummed and smiled...but her expression slowly changed, "You know...she's been kinda...still for a bit there..." she said softly, ."What's going on with her?" she asked "She seems totally out of it..."
"I...I'm not sure." said Zane.
"Yeah...me either." said Syrus, "Is she really okay?"
Is Connar okay, huh?
Jaden thought to himself before glancing back at the girl, recalling the incident from earlier that morning, his brown eyes narrowed.
That's a good question...

Connar had suddenly froze up.
It was Bastion's turn...but she showed no response for a while...and he was getting concerned.
"Ms. Connar?" he blinked, "Are you with me on the Duel field right now?"he asked, " It's my turn..."
Bastion's eyes widened as he saw all color leave Connar's face and her bright blue eyes fade into a darkened, and blank state.
"...Connar?" he called.

Chazz twitched from his seat and sat up quickly eyes wide, breath hitching.
"...What's going on with Connar?" asked Syrus, " Why isn't she doing anything? Saying anything!?"
"This doesn't look good..." said Jaden, as he rose to his feet quickly and stumbled his way out of the row to try to find some way to reach her.
"hey, Jay!?" Syrus called, "Aww, Wait up!"
Connar's body swayed, and suddenly the weight of gravity seemed much heavier, aiming to pull her down. Reacting without thought, Zane Also shuffled his way through the aisles with Alexis not too far behind him just as the pinkette's body began to fall.
Jaden rushed to try and reach her in time but was outshined by Chazz, who had gotten there first, just in time to catch her body before it had hit the floor.
"He must have just jumped over the rows..." Jaden said softly, surprised at how quick Princeton had reacted, "Guess he can't be all that bad if he'd rush in to help her like this."
"Wh...What's going on...!?" Chazz asked with a trembling voice as he watched students and faculty quickly gather around them, an unconscious Connar in his arms reluctantly handing her over to the infirmary assistants.
"...Connar...?"
