Summary: Martha is home, but not out of danger.

"I don't believe it!" Martha slumped on the sofa in her parents' living room, feeling like a complete idiot. "I just spent a whole year travelling the earth by myself, crossing every kind of terrain imaginable. Twelve months, in all weathers, with only a handful of minor injuries. I'm home less than a day, and I sprain my ankle tripping on the stairs!" She adjusted the cold compress on her ankle, frowning at the puffy joint.

Her mum handed her a cup of tea and sat down beside her.

"Perhaps it's the universe's way of telling you to slow down."
