Some Day...
Only at Duel Academy can searching for your missing classmate turn into a match against a Dueling Monkey...
Connar sighed as she caught up with Jaden and their friends and he explained the whole fiasco that occured while she was consulting the Spirit at The Abandoned Dorm.
Still though...I'm glad Jasmine is okay.
Admittedly enough, the entire fiasco did help to calm Connar down from her boiled over emotions from earlier in the day. And for that she was grateful enough...especially after finding out what actually happened to Princeton...
Lately my emotions feel like they haven't been entirely my own...
She thought to herself as she flashed back to the image of her threatening the Obelisk blue student earlier in the morning-
I feel like I'm losing more and more of my control...
She sighed as she looked into her trembling hands that earlier on were gripped tightly around the collared neck of a blue blazer.
Then the image of the boy she met at the dorm flashed in her mind once again.
"You can't lock me away forever!"
That's what he said, before...
"The more you continue to hold me back...the more it will hurt you when you finally break!"
Chills shot through her and she quickly shook back into her senses, while she thought back to her more recent encounter with him that was much different.
More initially gentle than the first time...
But also more...mysterious than when she had gone in.
Lately...I feel like I am losing more and more of myself, too...
And he knows omething...yet...he's not saying anything...
"Thank you for saving me..." Jasmine said softly to Jaden as they made their way back to the school.
Connar still couldn't believe that while she was talking to ghosts- Jaden was dueling monkeys...
Little did she know that Jaden had been watching her closely since she returned from her side trip to the Abandoned Dorm...
Connar had her fists clenched and her eyes shifted to a different shade. The phenomena caught Jaden's attention and he gasped trying to reach out and stop her when suddenly she had thrown her hands over her face and got down on her knees to take in deep breaths.
"Connar! Are you okay?" he asked as he tried to help her back up.
"Uhh...yeah..." she said softly, "I'm just...really tired I guess." she stated, "Still kinda shocked by it all..."
Phew...she seemed to stop it herself...
Jaden thought as he kneeled down before her.
But...what was that just now? It's not about Chazz, is it...?
He blinked.
...Is she even aware of it?
Luckily no one else seemed to notice it... Rather than bring it up right now...too many ears and eyes...he thought it best to distract her with a different topic.
"So...yeah...dueling monkeys...can you believe that?" he chuckled softly, "I mean, he had a talking helmet and everything!"
"Yeah...that's pretty crazy." she chuckled weakly, "Still though...I'm glad Professor Banner showed up."
"Yeah, turns out he was looking for us all day." he said softly, "He said he wanted to tell us that Chazz was okay...but..."
"But he left on his family's yacht earlier this morning...right?" Jaden didn't need to tell her anything...she finished the sentence for him.
"Yeah...how did you figure that?" he asked.
"Turns out the spirits at The Abandoned Dorm saw him leave..." she stated softly, "They told me..."
"Wait- Spirit? At the Abandoned Dorm?"
...Is that why she went on her own?
To talk to whoever- or whatever- put her in that state before? It was a Spirit after all?
Admittedly... after having found out about Connar's similar abilities to his own- he had his suspicions too.
"Well...That's good news! Right?" said Jaden, "I mean, that he's okay and all..."
"Sure is!" Syrus grinned, and even Connar let out a sigh of relief.
Yeah... Princeton is okay...
She thought to herself.
I'm so glad...But...
Jaden's eyes narrowed sadly. He wanted to console her...somehow...he just couldn't quite figure out how...
"I'm sorry, Connar." he said softly,"I know you were looking for him all morning...I wanted to tell you sooner but-"
But she wasn't anywhere to be found yet, having receiving the news from someone-or rather- something else.
I see...
Alexis thought to herself as she heard bits and pieces from eaves dropping on Jaden and Connars quiet conversation.
So Connar was looking for Chazz since this morning?
She sighed as she watched the pinkette put her head down, and rested a reassuring hand on the girl's shoulder, giving it a gentle squeeze.
"Well...that's a shame...I mean that he left and all..." Jaden sighed as he gave a side glance to the girl who wore a look of complicated emotions.
"Yeah I guess it is." Syrus said,"Chazz did make things interesting."
"My Chazzy..." Mindy whimpered.
Connar twitched at the sound of it and quickly turned, shoving her way through Professor Banner, who was leading them back and the rest of the group as well, all but running from the crowd back toward the shore line.
"Ah! Mindy!" Jasmine huffed,"You know Connar's had a thing for Chazz since Middle School...you really shouldn't talk like that in front of her!"
"Wait, still!?" Mindy blinked and let out a small huff,"I didn't see her making any declarations or claims...!"
"Wait? Connar has a crush on Chazz?" Syrus blinked,"Hahaha, not likely!"
"OW!" both of the girls winced as Alexis gave them both a knock on the noggin and shifted her glances between them.
"...Don't worry about Connar." Jaden said softly,"Sy and I will take care of her..." he shrugged," After all- We're Slifer Reds! And We take care of our own!" he grinned, pulling a soft chuckle from Alexis, "Besides...I'm sure Chazz will come back here someday..."
