Broken Spirit

Chazz gasped and groaned himself awake multiple times. No matter how he tried to ignore it, he just couldn't rid himself of that boy and whatever relationship he had with Connar.

Does she know him!?

He thought to himself as he blinked.

If so...why hasn't she said anything?

Is he the reason she's...changing?

He growled as he only grew more irritated before finally pushing himself up out of bed.

"Screw this!" he huffed,"I'm gonna take a dip."

"Come on Jaden!" Syrus beamed,"I know what will cheer you up! How about a dip in the Academy wading pool?"

"Yeah...good idea." Jaden said softly as he sighed.

The bath house was decked out like a tropical paridise. And Syrus, being as small as he was, could easily just jump right into the pool with a floaty.

Jaden kept his distance while his friends goofed around for a bit, lost in his own thoughts.

"So Jay..." Syrus blinked,"Are you over that nightmare yet?"

Twitching as his response the brunette kept his silence and sunk in a little deeper. Chumley blinked and shot a glare at Syrus.

"Whaaat!?" Syrus blinked,"I only ask because I care!" he sighed,"I'm sorry Jay..."

"Yeah..." the brunette sighed and completely submerged himself into the deep.

"Way to go..." Chumley muttered. But it seemed Jaden had his own plan for revenge as he swiped Syrus's towel from beneath him and swam off with it.

"Hey! Give me back my towel!" Syrus huffed.

"Yours?" Jaden blinked,"But I thought yours was dryer fresh? This one's a wet mess!"

"You'll be messing with me, if you don't give it!" Syrus huffed as he paddled after it in his innertube only to be met with a splash of cold water.

"Take a cold shower, scrub!" Chazz huffed.

Great...just when I had hoped to find some peace of mind, they show up too!

"Hey~ What's new, Chazaroo?" Jaden beamed.

"Real cute." he scoffed.

"Really? Thank you! Connar thinks so too!" he beamed to which Chazz responded with a twitch and a blazing glare while Jaden laughed.

"Seriously, what's up?" he asked,"Did you come to hang out?"

"With you?" Chazz blinked,"HA! That's a good laugh, slacker!"

Out of no where the raven haired male got hit with a splash from a cheeky blue haired school boy who stuck his tongue out victoriously.

"And that's an even better one! HA!"

"You'll pay for that!"

"Doubt that~" Syrus smirked as he paddled away,"That was priceless!"

"Get back here!" Chazz shouted as he dove in after him,"I'm gonna Chazz you up!"

"Eeeeew wait, don't tell me you were here to have bath tub thoughts about Connar!" Syrus's taunting continued which made Chazz turn a few shades redder than what the heat gave off.

"That's gross, Chazz!" Jaden taunted playfully.

"YOU'RE gross. Slacker!" Chazz huffed,"I'm not even the one who brought it up!"

"Yeah and I have three words for you!" Syrus stated,"Get! In! Line!"

"Or what!?" Chazz huffed,"You think you have a better chance than me!?"

"Well I mean..."Syrus gulped,"They say that for a perfect love ever after you should date your best friend~!"

"Please!" Chazz huffed,"You're like her brother at best! HaHaHa!" he laughed.

"Then as her brother I forbid you access to her! HaHaHa!"

"Oh yeah!? I'd like to see you try and stop me, you little blue haired creep!"

"I don't have to!" Syrus beamed,"Because you'll have to get through Jaden!"

"Huh? Why Jaden?" Chazz blinked.

"Because!" Syrus grinned cheekily,"Those two already kissed~!"

"Oh yeah, we did." Jaden blinked,"I almost forgot about that..."

"You WHAT!?" Chazz huffed angrily.

"How the heck could you forget kissing Connar!?" Syrus asked.

"Forget that!" Chazz snapped,"How the heck could you even KISS HER!?"

"Uhm...Because she's cute?" Jaden blinked,"And besides that, she kissed me!"

"You punk!" Chazz hissed,"Now I'm REALLY gonna Chazz you up!"

"Run, Jaden!" Syrus called out, "Or- swim, I guess!"

"Uh-Oh!" Jaden blinked and quickly took a dive in the water to hide himself.

"Where do you think you're going!? DON'T YOU DARE HIDE FROM ME, YOU SLACKER!"

As Jaden sunk down deeper into the shadows of the deep he let his mind wander through the thoughts and memories of the recent events. The loss of Crowler and Zane's souls...

Camula's...

With what's been going on lately...it's no wonder I'm having nightmares...

Jaden sighed as he closed his eyes under the water before swimming his way back up to the surface.

"I miss when dueling used to just be about having fun..." he sighed as he floated on his back.

Now it's all about winning.

Because If I lose...I'll be losing everything...

"Kurii kurii~!"

"Huh?" Jaden blinked as he noticed a familiar winged friend in the distance darting around a corner. Blinking in curiosity, Jaden soon swam after it. Syrus and Chumley looked around the area where Jaden took his defensive dive and wondered curiously on where their friend swam off too- following in the only direction he could have gone to be out of sight.

"Stupid slackers..." Chazz muttered as he retied his now sopping wet towel that was stolen from him when he dived in to tackle Syrus.

"They should have a kiddie pool for those losers..." he huffed,"Or better yet just wet them down with a hose."

"I'm with you there, boss!" Ojama popped his way out uninvitedly once again and Chazz decided to throw him down for a swim.

"Just get lost, will you!?" Chazz huffed.

"All right, fine!" Yellow pouted,"I've gotta get to the Spirit Festival anyway!"

"What?" Chazz blinked as he looked back at him,"Spirit Festival?"

Jaden wandered around in the shallows in search for his furry friend who was no where to be seen.

"Kuriboh?" he called out. But there was no answer. Suddenly with one missed step he found himself pulled down into the water by an unseen force, then suddenly shot back up again, fully clothed into a cavern he had never seen before.

"What the hell!?" Jaden gasped as he searched around and questioned his sudden change in clothing. He found himself surrounded by what looked to be fairy monsters and let out a startled cry, startling them as well.

"O-Oh...H-Hello..." He said softly,"M-My name's Jaden...uh...sorry to drop...in?" he blinked as he looked up and found the water above him. Yet somehow. He was breathing air. But that aside. Something else was on its way.

"IN COMING!" he cried out and quickly darted out of the way as Syrus, Chazz and Chumley all landed where he once sat-

"What's going on here!?" Chazz huffed while Syrus stumbled around for his glasses.

"We're in...some kind of Spirit World!" Chumley beamed.

"This is weird..." Chazz muttered."It's like a bunch of Duel Monster Cards came to life or something..."

"Pretty cool~ right~?"Yellow beamed as he did a little jig in his now, non transparent flesh.

"Try Bizarre..." Jaden blinked.

"Who are you calling bizarre!?" a familiar voice bellowed in the echo, startling Jaden as he turned to find none other than-

"Kaibaman!?" Jaden blinked as the man loomed over him and smirked.
