Crush Crush Crush

"And so then Bastion totally blew up on us for talking about card crushes." said Syrus.

"That's because having a crush on a card is utterly rediculous!" said Bastion.

"I don't know about that~" Jaden laughed, "I have quite a few card crushes stashed away in my deck~ They bring TONS of luck!" he grinend, "What about you, Chazz?"

"Me? A crush on a card? Give me a break!" Chazz huffed, "Try growing up and having a crush on a real girl."

"Whatever!" said Syrus, "Connie, what about you?" the boy blinked, "You gotta have a card crush or two stashed away in YOUR deck!"

"Actually...I've had a real boyfriend...so...I never really needed a card crush." the pinkette stated as she walked in pace with the Black clothed Slifer who twitched ever slightly. He stayed closer to her than usual since the ordeal with his brothers and the dramatic rescue from a tempermental sea...

"That's right..." Chazz blinked, "Out of all of us here, supposedly you actually dated someone."

Connar huffed.

"What do you mean supposedly!? It's true! I was dating someone up to the point of last Summer- before school started!"

"Hmph. Yeah right." scoffed Chazz, "For as long as I've known her, Connar's never had any other guys around her!" he huffed, "At least none I've ever met or seen!"

"Uhm...We're right here, Chazz." said Jaden and Syrus waving to get his attention as well as Zane who pointed to himself as well, while Bastion averted his gaze awkwardly, seeing as all of them, including Chazz have been around Connar as of late.

"You dweebs don't count." said Chazz.

"Ouch...and I've kissed her!" Jaden laughed.

"YOU SHUT YOUR MOUTH!" Chazz huffed with a heated flush to his cheeks before scoffing and folding his arms back over his chest, "Connar told me!" he stated, "It was a Fake Out Make Out." he stated, "Ergo, It doesn't count!"

" Geez Chazz...you sure got defensive!" Jaden laughed. "But then...Connar did tell me that she had kissed someone before me." He blinked, "If that's true...why is it so hard to believe she had a boyfriend before?" he shrugged, "Even if there's no actual proof on weather or not this guy was real or not..."

Connar pouted with puffed out rosy cheeks.

"He was totally real!" she huffed.

"So.." Syrus blinked, "Old boyfriend trumps card crush?" he said with a tilt of his head."

"I said I never needed them." said Connar, "Not that I never had any~"

"Ah HA!" laughed Jaden, "So you DO have a card crush!"

"Well let's see him!" said Syrus, "Or her...?"

"No way!" said Connar, "You nosy people leave my deck alone!"

"On the topic of Connar having a card crush..." Zane blinked, "I would have thought her Kaibaman card would play that role." he stated, "She uses him all the time...and he's the only monster in her deck that's not a spell caster." he teased.

"Okay- First of all!" Connar huffed, "Kaibaman is MORE than just some other duel monster, okay!?" she declared, "He's a super hero! Even on TV!" she defended, "I used to watch the Kaibaman show all the time at the Orphanege." she blinked, "Secondly, EW!" she cringed, " Kaibaman was not only created by, but was also played by my dad in both the live performance shows and the tv series!" she stated, "And I so- do NOT have a crush on my dad! Gross!"

"...Okay...time to put an end to that conversation..." said Chazz, finally breaking the awkard silence that fell between them.

"No kidding..." Connar sighed.

Silence fell between them once again, just as awkward as the previous until Chazz heaved a heavy sigh.

"Connar-"

"I told you, Princeton, I'm fine." she chuckled softly,"I doubt even your brothers intended for things to get as bad as they did." she stated.

"You're defending them now!?" Chazz huffed, "I swear, Connie, sometimes, I don't know if you are just really kind- or really stupid!"

"Maybe, I'm both?" she chuckled, " The point I am trying to make...is that I'm fine." she blinked, "I'm okay...you can stop worrying...It wasn't your fault you know..."

"Yeah...I know that, but-"

"So stop worrying about it...okay?" she blinked with a gentle smile at him that turned his cheeks red."

"...Yeah...okay." he huffed in defeat and blinked, "You know, Connie...?"

"Yes? What is it?" she blinked curiously and glanced over with her baby blues that were wide with curiosity.

"...I never did get a straight answer about that date..." he stated.

Connar felt her heart skip a beat as she gasped softly. Holding a gaze with Chazz who showed no sign of teasing or malice in his expression.

"I..." as the girl opened her mouth to speak, the bell chimed in and broke their conversation up once again.

"...That was the warning bell." she stated, "We better hurry to class or we'll be late."

"Right..." Chazz smirked, "...But this conversation isn't over." he flashed her a cheeky grin and softened into a warm smile that made her blush as he walked ahead, and she hurried to follow, boots clapping against the tiled floor of the rather quiet...and empty hall way...

It seemed the Hall way wasn;t the only thing that was empty this day.

"Huh...there sure are a lot of absences." said Professor Banner, "...There must be some kind of bug going around..."

None that I've heard of...

Bastion thought to himself as he shifted his gaze around all of the empty seats of the class room. Jaden and Connar snored away a few rows down. It was kind of hard not to when the class room was so silent. Even Syrus and Chumley were dozing...

In the silence Connar began to feel light pulsations within her chest which managed to bring her back to the waking world, revealing her baby blue to be a bit darker than usual... Which caught Chazz's attention with a side ways glance as a sudden look of uneasiness washed over her...

...Even Connar is beginning to act strange once again...

Bastion blinked.

There's definitely something strange in the air...
