1933 Rochester, NY

"Tanya if you wanted to go to a party why did you pick a formal ball with the Cullens of all things?"Kate asked Tanya as pair entered a ball room with the rest of their coven. Kate didn't like the Cullens and never understood why Tanya insisted on remaining friends with them. Especially after Carlisle turned Edward. The man was annoying enough before hand but after turning the boy he became unbearable. Edward was known to annoy Kate to the point of her using her gift on him regularly. Kate enjoyed not only causing him pain but the many attempts he made to try and fight her. That was the one thing Tanya didn't stop her from doing. If Edward picked a fight Tanya let it happen and even stepped in when Carlisle tried to break it up. Even fights with Edward weren't enough incentive to spend the evening in public with the Cullens though.

"I thought it would be a good idea to see who the Cullens are spending time with."Tanya lied. The real reason they were at the ball was because Rosalie was supposed to be there. When Tanya got Isabella's message with the date and time of the meeting she had to stop herself from searching the girl out right away. Both Tanya and Isabella had been waiting for this moment for centuries and now that it was coming true even having to be around the Cullens couldn't put a damper on her mood.

"Are you sure that's the real reason?"Anne asked.

"What other reason could there be?"Tanya looked around the room but hadn't caught sight of Rosalie yet. There were to many human bodies smelling of sweat and various perfumes and colognes covering up her mate's scent so that was no help.

"I have a feeling this is one of those instances when we go somewhere randomly and something life changing happens."Irina wouldn't be surprised if Tanya was the one who organized the ball just for this night to happen. Her coven leader never did anything on a whim. Even if Tanya tried to act like she did. Victoria's presence next to her being proof of the many things Tanya just stumbled into accidentally.

"Should we go search out Carlisle?"Carmen was thinking the same thing as Irina. This was definitely not a random visit. Tanya had been to excited to be visiting their cousins. Something all of them hated doing. Carmen shook it off. After so long she had gotten used to random things happening everywhere Tanya led them. She went along with it because Tanya had never steered them wrong or put them in danger. She usually was getting them out of trouble so it was easy not to question things.

"If Tanya is making us be around this many uptight humans then there is no way I'm dealing with Carlisle tonight."Victoria wasn't pleased that they had be at ball when there were many good clubs around the area that they could dance to good music and have fun at.

"I'm sure Edward would love the chance to dance with Tanya."Kate said.

Tanya let loose a low growl before catching herself."If after tonight that boy doesn't get it in his head I'm not interested in him then I will beat into him myself."

"What's going to make tonight so different?"Eleazar asked.

"Nothing."Tanya cursed herself for letting that slip.

Kate rolled her eyes at Tanya."Why don't you just tell us what we need to do to help your plan succeed."

"I don't have any plan."Tanya was being truthful. All she knew was that Rosalie was at the ball and she needed to find her.

"Sure you don't."Anne didn't believe that for a second. Tanya was always scheming.

"I really don't. Now let's mingle with the humans a bit."Tanya grabbed Kate's arm and led her through the crowd. She ignored every person who attempted to get their attention.

"I don't think rushing around the room dodging humans is how you mingle Tanya."Kate said as she pulled on Tanya's arm to slow her down."People are staring at us now."

Tanya looked around and realized Kate was right. People were staring at them."Sorry I'm just excited to be here."

"Well calm your excitement before you make more of a scene."Kate scolded.

"Who knew that Kate would be the mature one for the evening."Irina said.

"Someone has to be. Look at Tanya she is like a caged animal."Victoria motioned to Tanya who was almost vibrating with the energy she was holding in.

"Tanya are you alight?"Anne had never seen the coven leader so out of sorts.

"Yes, Yes I'm fine."Tanya waved off her concern. Just as she was about to make another comment her golden eyes locked with a pair so blue they were almost violet. The wait was over. She had found her mate.

Kate stumbled when Tanya stopped suddenly."Tanya what is it?"

"Who is that girl you are looking at?"Carmen asked.

Rosalie looking away broke the trance Tanya was in."That's my mate."

"Wait you found your mate at this party?"Irina knew it. Tanya had brought them to the event for a reason. It frustrated Irina to no end that Tanya wouldn't just tell them this stuff instead of all the cloak and dagger.

"I did and now if you will excuse me I would like to go meet her."Tanya untangled her arm from Kate's and made her way over to Rosalie.

"Are we really going to pretend that Tanya didn't know she was going to find her mate here?"Kate asked.

"Would it do us any good to confront her about it?"Anne knew that Tanya wouldn't admit to anything.

"No, no it wouldn't."Kate relented.

Tanya ignored the rest of her coven's conversation as she walked towards Rosalie who was in the middle of a conversation with three men one of which looked like her father. Not even paying attention to the others standing with her Tanya held out her hand and introduced herself."Hello I'm Tanya Denali and you are?"

"Rosalie Hale."Rosalie held out her hand only to be surprised when Tanya lifted it to her mouth and kissed her knuckles.

"Well Rosalie Hale would you care to dance?"Tanya asked.

"But we are both women."Rosalie was intrigued by the bold stranger but didn't think it would be proper to dance with her.

"Does that truly matter to you?"Tanya could tell Rosalie was interested.

Rosalie thought about it for a minute."No it doesn't."

"Then would you please accompany me to the dance floor."Tanya held out her arm but before Rosalie could take it her father spoke.

"My daughter will not be dancing with anyone other than her fiancé. Especially not a woman."The man said.

"Daughter or not it isn't up to you who dances with. Now as she has accepted my invitation we will bid you farewell."Tanya didn't wait for a reply before grabbing Rosalie's hand and leading her to the dance floor. She took the stance as the one who would lead and pulled Rosalie into her arms.

"I don't think my father is very pleased with the way you spoke to him."Rosalie had never seen her father talked to by a woman that way before.

"The only person I care about pleasing is you."Tanya told her.

Rosalie ducked her head trying to hide the blush she felt forming on her warm cheeks."Why would you want to please me?"

"I want to tell you a story Rosalie Hale. A story so unbelievable that by the time I finish telling you you will either think I'm absolutely insane or you will fall madly in love with me. Would you like to hear it?"Tanya asked.

"I would."Rosalie had a feeling that she wouldn't be thinking Tanya was insane as she was already a little in love with the woman.

"I was born over a thousand years ago."Tanya smiled at the look of disbelief on Rosalie's face."Let me finish the story before you have me committed."

"Of course."Rosalie would save her judgment for the end of the story.

"As I was saying. I was born over a thousand years ago. I had lived a life traveling around the world with my two sisters Kate and Irina. It was in the mid 14th century that I was visited by two women. One of those woman told me a story. It was a love story between three woman. Three women that were torn apart by duty and time. Two of the woman would meet and only get to spend a day in each other's company before one of them would be forced to a life of service for three kings who didn't deserve their crowns. She had the hardest job out the trio. You see she had a gift. A gift that gave her a glimpse into the future. She took it upon herself to shape the future to stop the world from turning into a place that would eclipse any horrors that came before it."Tanya glanced at Rosalie to see if was still listening.

"Did she succeed?"Rosalie was enraptured with the story.

"With the help of the lover she was forced to be away from and other allies she has been making great progress. The centuries that had past since their first meeting have been long and lonely. They only spoke through notes passed through a trusted friend."After knowing her for so long it was easy for Tanya to call Jane friend.

"You said there were three women. What about the third?"Rosalie asked.

"The who could see the future had a vision of a blond haired, blue eyed woman that would one day attend a ball in Rochester, NY wearing a purple gown. She sent her lover to meet that woman and share their story and tell her that she was meant to be so much more than just a wife to Royce King Jr. She was meant to stand side by side with her lovers when they struck the final king down. She was meant for a life of happiness, joy and love. All she had to do to make that happen was agree to run away with the woman who shared their story and if she did one day their lost lover would make her a queen."Tanya told her.

Rosalie was stunned with everything she had just heard. Her first instinct was to laugh it off as Tanya just joking with her but looking into the other woman's eyes she could see the truth in her words."Why didn't she come herself?"

"If she left her position with the kings it would make the future they were trying to prevent from happening become something worse."Tanya took the fact that Rosalie hadn't run away screaming as good sign."I've finished my story. Do you think I'm insane?"

"No, but I do think I might be in love with you."Rosalie admitted.

Tanya smiled brightly."Then what do you say Rosalie Hale. Do you want to get out here and start the beginning of your new life?"

"How are we going to leave without being noticed?"Rosalie found she was rather excited to be running off with Tanya.

"Let's go talk to my family. They can provide a distraction."Tanya held out her hand for a willing Rosalie to take and hand and hand they made their way through the crowd until they found Irina standing with Anne, Victoria and Kate.

"Hello."Irina greeted.

"Everyone this my mate Rosalie Hale. Rosalie these are my sisters Kate, Irina, Victoria and Anne."Tanya pointed out each woman as she introduced them.

"You only mentioned Irina and Kate in your story."Rosalie said.

"Victoria and Anne joined us later. I'll tell you all about it on our way to get your things."Tanya told her.

"What do you mean get her things? What's going on?"Anne asked.

"Rosalie has agreed to run away with me. We are going to stop by her house and collect her belongings then we are going to travel by ourselves for a little while."Tanya already bought the house in Italy close to the castle so that Isabella could help change Rosalie.

"Wait slow down. You are going to run away with Rosalie without setting up any type of accident to explain the disappearance after being the last person seen with her?"Irina wanted to make sure Tanya understood what she was doing.

"There is not enough time to do anything."Tanya was on tight schedule. If she didn't follow the plan to the minute then they would miss out on seeing Isabella.

"Why isn't there enough time?"Victoria didn't know what was so important that Tanya couldn't cover her tracks.

"I can't explain it. Just trust me please."Tanya wished she could tell them but it would ruin everything.

Kate sighed."Of course you can't explain it. Just tell us what you need us to do."

"You guys should probably leave the party soon after we do. Just give us enough time that it wouldn't be suspicious that the rest of you leave. After that get your stuff from the Cullens and leave the area. I'm taking Rosalie someplace private to change her and will be home within the month."Tanya told them.

"I want to ask why you aren't taking her to Alaska to change her but as I know you won't answer the question I'm going to keep it to myself."Irina took the fact that Tanya had already set up an undisclosed location to turn Rosalie at as more proof that Tanya had known she was meeting Rosalie at this party.

"You guys are the best."Tanya gave each of her sisters and a hug and kiss on the cheek."We will be in Alaska by the end of the month."

"Get going. We will deal with the Cullens."Anne wasn't looking forward to dealing with those self-righteous assholes but Tanya's happiness was worth it.

"It was nice meeting you."Rosalie called over her shoulder as she followed Tanya out the door.

"So how fucked up is this situation going to get when everyone realizes that Rosalie ran away with Tanya?"Victoria asked.

"It won't be our problem it will be the Cullen's because I don't know about you guys but I'm not sticking around to deal with the fallout."Kate wasn't stupid enough to take on that responsibility.

"Good point. Let's go say our goodbyes to the Cullens, collect Carmen and Eleazar and get the hell out of here."Irina was in agreement with Kate. She didn't want to deal with a bunch of angry humans that likely would be involving the police in the matter. Following after her mate and her sisters Irina rolled her eyes. Tanya was the one who fixed all their problems. She wasn't one to create them. It was unlike the coven leader not to have a solid plan as was the case with this. Something important must be happening for Tanya to not be more careful. Irina wondered what it was that had Tanya breaking the rules so blatantly. Once Tanya got home with Rosalie she going to demand some answers. They had gone along with Tanya for centuries it was time Tanya confessed to how she knew things. Irina knew Tanya wasn't gifted because if she was she would have stop Sasha from creating the child. Where she could be getting the information from Irina had no clue. Tanya never traveled alone and they knew all the people who visited Alaska. Irina pushed it to the back of her mind for now. Now she needed to help the rest of her family and herself make a hasty retreat before the Cullens caught on to what was going on.
