2 yrs Before The Big Event, Forks Washington

"Tanya and family welcome to our home and thank you for coming and helping us deal with this problem."Carlisle greeted the Denali Coven as the group existed the large van they used when traveling together. Tanya had been very happy when she had gotten the phone call from Carlisle about his coven being targeted by a nomad who had created a bunch of newborns to kill all of them. She wasn't happy because the Cullens were targeted. Tanya was happy because this situation was what set in motion everything that led to the big event. When Tanya received Isabella's letter she could feel the excitement in Isabella's words when she explained the situation. Even Jane was unusually upbeat when she delivered the letter. They all knew that everything would come to a head soon and the kings would be killed. Then each of them could finally live their lives with their mates. Jane included as Isabella had found the small vampire's mate decades ago. Jane had met the woman but they hadn't completed the bond. The pair just like Isabella, Rosalie and Tanya and Athenodora and Colette had to wait until the kings were dead.

"It's no problem Carlisle. We would always come to your aide if you needed us."Tanya told him.

"Why don't you all come inside and we can discuss things."Carlisle suggested.

"Of course."Tanya took Rosalie's hand in her own and led the coven into the Cullen's large living room. There weren't enough places for everyone to sit so most of them stood. Tanya and Rosalie taking a love seat for themselves.

"Before we start I think you should meet Edward's human mate Jessica."Carlisle was nervous about having the Denali around the girl as they were strict on following the law. He hoped that they would let him explain before they cast judgment.

"Why is the girl still human?"Carmen asked.

"Edward plans on changing her after they get married."Carlisle explained.

Kate laughed."Let me guess he's waiting until they are married to have sex with her as well."

"What I do is none of your concern."Edward told her when he entered the living room with Jessica trailing behind him. He was very unhappy that Carlisle called on the Denali for help. He hated the family with a passion and didn't trust any of them. Especially Tanya and Rosalie. He had found it suspicious that Tanya's mate was immune to his gift just like she was. He was positive that Tanya did something to the girl but she had denied being involved claiming it was just an ingrained gift like her own. Something Edward did not believe.

"Anyway."Carlisle jumped in hoping to stop any fights from breaking out. It was common for Edward to pick a fight with all the members of the Denali even Rosalie who had never spoken a word to any of them. Carlisle understood Edward was wary of them but Carlisle had been friends with them for centuries and they had helped him many times through out the years. They had gone above and beyond to prove their loyalty."Everyone this Jessica Stanley."

"Hello."Jessica wasn't sure what to make of these vampires as Edward didn't have anything nice to say about them. The rest of the Cullens seemed to like them and had told her many positive things that the Denali had done for them and of happy times they spent together. Jessica had decided that she would form an opinion after she spent some time with them.

"Nice to meet you Jessica."Tanya looked the girl over. She didn't understand how the meek teenager was the reason behind the big event. After knowing of the girl for so long Tanya had built up someone in her heard that was fierce and strong that their very presence made you willing to pledge your loyalty to them right away. This girl wasn't definitely not that and Tanya couldn't figure out why the Cullens were so taken with her.

"You as well."Jessica replied.

"Now you didn't tell me much on the phone. What exactly is the problem you are having?"Tanya banished her smile when Rosalie tapped the back of her hand four times with her thumb. That was their signal that one of them was acting to enthusiastic about a situation. As the time came closer to the big event the mated pair was constantly having to keep each other in check. Tanya knew it was just going to get worse and was not looking forward to having to explain away her reactions.

"Well it all started with a tracker named James. He had come across us playing baseball."Carlisle began only to be cut off by Kate.

"Why have you never played baseball with us?"Kate would enjoy playing a game a baseball with their cousins.

"Probably because you cheat at every game you play."Anne said.

"I don't cheat. I just happen to know the rules better than everyone else."Kate wasn't a cheater she was just very good at working the rules of each game in her favor.

"I'm still trying to understand how you justified winning that hand of poker where you had nothing but even numbered cards."Victoria always steered away from playing games with Kate. The only exceptions were when Tanya was playing as well because the coven leader didn't put up with Kate's antics.

"That hand is called an Even Stevens."Kate told her.

"Enough. Let Carlisle tell us why we are here."Tanya knew if she didn't stop her family they would spend hours bickering.

"As I was saying Jessica caught the attention of a tracker when we were playing baseball. He was traveling through the area with his mate Laurent. After we defended Jessica the man took it as a game. Killing a human that was being protected by a coven of vampires being the ultimate hunt. Before he could get to Jessica we were able to kill him but his mate escaped before we could deal with him as well."Carlisle explained.

"What measures have you taken to locate Laurent?"Tanya already knew they hadn't done anything.

"We honestly didn't think he would be a problem. That and Alice hadn't had any visions of him doing anything. Well until recently."Carlisle said.

"You thought the mate of a man you killed wouldn't be a problem?"Irina wanted to say she couldn't believe the Cullens could be so stupid but this was just like something they would do.

"He isn't any kind of threat to us."Edward said defensively. He didn't appreciate the looks the Denali were giving his coven.

"Here we go again."Emmett muttered.

"If he isn't any kind of threat then why did you ask for our help?"Tanya asked.

"I didn't ask for your help nor do I want it."Edward had been against involving the Denali but was overruled by the rest of his family. That being something that didn't happen often and made him extremely pissed off.

"Edward we have gone over this. If the Denali don't help the Volturi will get involved."Alice had seen the guard led by Jane come and arrest all of them for hiding the army and the wolves. That and keeping Jessica human.

"You guys really got yourselves into some shit this time but don't worry we are here to save the day."Kate smirked at the angry look on Edward's face.

Edward growled."We don't need you to save anyone. In fact you should all go back to Alaska."

"Son you need to put your pride aside and accept the fact we need our cousin's help."Carlisle knew Edward was upset but they couldn't defeat the newborns without the Denali's help.

"What exactly has this Laurent vampire done?"Tanya needed them to get back on track because they only had a couple hours to get to the location Isabella gave Tanya and Rosalie in her last letter before Laurent sent the newborns to kidnap a bunch of humans to turn. It would triple the number of vampires in his army and would definitely catch the Volturi's attention.

"He has started creating a newborn army to kill all of us."Carlisle told her.

"What are his numbers so far?"Tanya asked.

"My last vision showed that he had a little over a dozen."Alice said.

"Where is he keeping them?"Tanya didn't put much faith in Alice's visions. Compared to Isabella Alice was just a toddler stumbling through the dark when it came to their gift of sight.

"I don't know for sure but I think some kind of warehouse."Alice had tried to get more details but nothing came to her.

"What were your plans to deal with the threat?"Tanya was asking as just a formality because she and Rosalie already had a plan. One that didn't include the Cullens.

"We were going to speak to the wolves and have them join us in training. That way we are prepared to face the army when it comes."Carlisle didn't want to involve the young boys but they would need all the help they could get.

"I see."Tanya should have figured the Cullen's plan would be stupid. She just didn't expect it to be that stupid.

Noticing the look on both Tanya and Rosalie's faces Irina sighed. She knew where this was going."What are you thinking Tanya?"

"I think it would be a good idea for my coven to go and scout the area on our own so we can learn the land for when the newborns come."Tanya suggested.

"For fuck's sake."Victoria grumbled. This was definitely a set up. Now that she was thinking about it Tanya and Rosalie had been a little too willing to help the Cullens. They hadn't seemed concerned at all with the danger of dealing with a bunch of newborns.

"Are you sure that's wise. We don't know exactly where the newborns are being held."Carlisle didn't think it was a good idea for the Denali to be going off on their own.

"Yeah and I won't be able to know if you guys get into trouble."When Tanya and Rosalie were involved Alice's gift didn't work. Both women were immune to not only her gift but Edward's and Jasper's as well and it made it hard to keep track of them.

"I think we will be fine."Tanya assured them.

Rosalie looked at her watch and then leaned over to whisper in Tanya's ear."We need to leave in the next five minutes."

"We should go now. That way we are ready by the time we begin training."Tanya stood up from her seat.

Anne having noticed that Rosalie checked her watch knew that they were on a time table. A time table that only Rosalie and Tanya knew about because both of their watches were set to a random time zone none of them could identify."Are we driving or running?"

"We are going to run."Tanya needed them to get there quickly and silently.

"Tanya I must once again object or at least suggest some of us should come with you."Carlisle really didn't feel comfortable letting the Denali go off on their own.

"We will be fine. If anything happens we will call you."Tanya wasn't really going to call him but it was the polite thing to say."Now let's get going."

Kate followed her coven out the door and waited until they were far enough away that the Cullens couldn't hear them to speak."Are you going to tell us what is really going on or are we just going to blindly follow you into danger."

"I just have a feeling that we should head to Seattle and look around the docks."Tanya figured telling her family that much wouldn't give to much away.

"A feeling you say."Victoria didn't believe that for a second. Tanya knew something and if Tanya knew it that meant that Rosalie knew it as well."Do you have the same feeling Rosalie?"

"I think Tanya is right. It would be a good idea to go to Seattle and get there soon."Rosalie checked her watch again. They needed to leave if they wanted to prevent the newborns from recruiting.

"By the way you keep checking your watch I have a feeling if we don't leave right now something horrible is going to happen."Irina had been around Tanya long enough to know that if she was focused on her watch they were on a tight schedule. Rosalie had picked up the habit from the coven leader after she was turned.

"And because of that let's go."Tanya didn't wait for a reply. She just took off in the direction of the warehouse. She knew that she frustrated her family but they would follow. They trusted her enough to know that she wouldn't make them do something unless there was a good reason for it. Tanya also knew that her family would forgive her for her vagueness once they got to the warehouse and fought the newborns. Tanya made sure her entire coven trained regularly and knew they would enjoy being able to go all out against the enemy. The reason she had them train was for after the big event. They wouldn't be any use in taking down the kings and the guards loyal to them but they would be critical in helping Tanya, Rosalie and Isabella defend the the new regime once the new rulers were put into place. Isabella had assured Tanya that the family would excel in the new roles they would be given after the kings were dead. That made her feel less guilty about pushing them as hard as she did. As they got closer to Seattle Tanya pushed all those thoughts from her mind. Even though Isabella had assured her they would be victorious Tanya knew that could change if she was sloppy. That would result in her family getting hurt. Something Tanya would never allow to happen.
