"I can't believe Edward actually invited us to this. I thought he would still be salty about the newborn army thing."Kate said. She was with the rest of the Denali Coven in Forks at the reception after witnessing Edward and Jessica's wedding. Kate was surprised they were even invited. It was no secret Edward hated her entire family. Especially after they took care of the newborns for the Cullens. After they had finished burning the bodies they had returned to the Cullen's home and explained everything that they had done. Edward had called them liars and refused to believe that they could kill the newborns so easily. It was only because Alice told them of a vision she had of Laurent complaining to someone of how his plan failed that made him accept the truth. That didn't make him less angry though. Kate lording the fact that the Denali were the ones who protected his mate when he did nothing probably didn't help with that anger but Kate didn't care. She hated the mind reader as much as he hated them.
"I think we were only invited because of Carlisle and Esme."Tanya said.
"I wish we could get drunk. Then we wouldn't have to deal with all these human males drooling over us. That and all the shifters giving us the evil eye."Victoria glared back at a dark haired tanned skinned boy who was glaring at her.
"It does surprise me that the wolves were so willing to form an alliance with the Cullens."Eleazar would have suspected that the wolves would be more hostile towards vampires. Carlisle had explained that they had formed a friendship though Jessica's relationship with them and an incident when Carlisle had saved one of the wolves from a gun shot wound he received from a hunter who thought he was a real wolf.
"How much trouble will we get into if we mess with them?"Kate asked.
"Don't worry you will get your chance to humiliate the whole pack."Isabella had sent in her last letter details of a situation that Rosalie and Tanya could easily prevent but Rosalie was of the opinion that Kate deserved a chance to have fun. Plus ruining Edward's wedding would be the perfect revenge for the boy thinking he was mated to Tanya. Rosalie wasn't a petty person but when it came to her mates she wouldn't put up with any nonsense. Even if it happened before she met Tanya.
"What do you mean?"Anne knew that kind of statement meant trouble.
"I mean that before the night is over Edward will regret inviting both our family and the wolves."Rosalie told her.
Kate rubbed her hands together in excitement."I usually hate you keeping information from us but as I know I'm going to enjoy whatever you are going to set up I will let it slide."
"You aren't going to stop whatever is going to happen?"Irina asked Tanya.
"I thought about it but not only does Kate deserve to have fun the wolves are children who need to be reminded who their betters are."That and Tanya hated Edward. The shifters were annoying and would continue to be in the future so Tanya figured establishing that the Denali were the bigger predators was important. That way they wouldn't think the coven was a bunch of pushovers like the Cullens.
"What do you have planned for them?"Victoria was keeping her voice just as low as the others so that no one could hear their conversations from their spot on the other side of the room away from the rest of the crowd.
"The wolves will be a continued nuisance if we don't establish dominance over them right away. I for one don't want to deal with them in the future thinking they can dictate our every move and the Cullens enforcing those rules to keep the peace."Tanya said.
"I don't even like following the Cullen's rules. There is no way in hell I'm getting told what to do by a group of little kids who think they're tough because they turn into dogs."Kate wasn't going to put up with a bunch of weak shifters trying to pull rank on her.
"That's why I'm going to let it happen. That and Edward is a douchebag and deserves to have his wedding ruined."Tanya told them.
"He has ruined enough good things in our lives it's only fair we return the favor."Carmen was more than happy to help ruin Edward's wedding.
"Do we feel bad because it's Jessica's wedding as well?"Anne didn't really care but wanted to make sure they were looking at every angle of situation before causing a scene.
"From the interactions we have had with her do any of you honestly care about her feelings?"Rosalie sure as hell didn't. Jessica was a pitiful human who wasn't worthy of being the main catalyst for the big event. Rosalie was embarrassed for the girl for being the one who would give birth to Edward's child.
Victoria thought about it for a second."No the girl is as annoying as Edward is."
"Even if she wasn't marrying Edward I would happily volunteer to ruin her wedding."Kate would have paid a lot of money to be allowed to ruin the girl's wedding.
"Then it's settled we are going to ruin the wedding."Irina found she was somewhat excited about it. That and the chance to fight the wolves. She had never fought a shifter before and was looking forward to seeing how her skills stacked up.
"How do we do this?"Eleazar was thinking the same thing as Irina. He was excited to fight a wolf.
"Dinner is almost over. Once they start the dancing the mated pairs make your way to the dance floor. After the first song plays the alpha will take his imprint to the dance floor. In the middle of the song Kate you tap the alpha on the shoulder and ask if you can cut in."Tanya told her.
"And when he says no I punch him."Kate concluded.
"No, when he declines you take this piece of paper and hand to his imprint and say If you ever get sick of having dog hair on your clothes give my friend a call. He will treat you right." Tanya handed Kate a piece of paper.
Kate opened it."This is Edward's number."
"Of course it is and the alpha will recognize it right away. Because he will recognize it right away he will confront Edward and start a fight with him. After we let the fight get to the point of Edward losing his left arm Kate will admit that it was her that set everything up. That will piss the alpha off and the rest of the wolves will get pissed and start a fight with us. Then we get to beat on them."Tanya explained.
"Wait we are framing Edward? Why not just give her a fake number?"Anne asked.
"Which is more fun getting Edward caught up in a fight with the alpha who will no doubt kick his ass and we get fight the wolves or Kate just getting growled at and none of us getting to fight the wolves?"Rosalie thought fighting the wolves would be more fun.
"Good point."Anne wanted to fight the wolves. Edward getting his ass kicked was just an added bonus.
"What are we going to do about the humans?"Carmen didn't want to have to hold back on the wolves but they all would have to if the humans could see them.
"As soon as the alpha confronts Edward I'm going to dance Rosalie close to one of the younger shifters and loudly ask if the boy was alright because he was shaking so bad. That comment will cause Carlisle to panic and with the help of the rest of the Cullens they will round up all the humans and get them to leave quickly."Tanya wasn't worried about the humans Isabella said they would be long gone before the first wolf shifted.
"Alice hasn't seen any of this?"Anne asked.
Rosalie shook her head."Alice's gift doesn't work on not only Tanya and myself but the wolves as well. So even though neither Tanya and I are involved she won't know what Kate has planned."
"One day you are going to tell us how you have better information about the future that a vampire with a proven gift."Irina still didn't understand how Tanya could know more than Alice. It was actually Alice who Irina thought Tanya got all her information from. It wasn't until Irina learned of how young Alice was and how unreliable her gift was that she dismissed it. Alice may have the gift of sight but what she did was child's play compared to Tanya's ability to know the future. Tanya was never wrong and knew specific details. Alice could be tricked easily and never had more than basic details. It made Irina even more curious of how her sister knew the things she did.
"You will know everything very soon and once you do you will understand why I have kept so much from you over the years."Tanya was counting down the days until the big event. They had a couple months to go.
"Why can't you tell us now?"Ever since the newborn situation Tanya had been promising to reveal all and Victoria didn't understand why they had to wait.
"It's not her secret to tell. That and it would ruin everything if she did."Rosalie was counting down the days as well. Not because she wanted to tell her family anything she just wanted to be reunited with Isabella. Then she could finally complete the bond.
"Why do you get to know?"Yes they were mates but Irina didn't understand why Rosalie was told a secret that Tanya went out of her way to keep for centuries.
"She has to know because she will play a big role in what's to come and needs to be prepared."Tanya explained.
"That's not ominous."Carmen grumbled.
"Regardless if it is or not dinner is over. Everyone know what to do?"Tanya asked changing the subject.
Kate once again rubbed her hands together in excitement."We got this."
"Well Rosalie Hale would you care to dance?"Tanya asked Rosalie.
Rosalie smiled."But we are both women."
"Does that truly matter to you?"Tanya smiled back remembering their first meeting.
Rosalie pretended to think about it."No it doesn't."
"Then would you please accompany me to the dance floor."Tanya held out her arm for a willing Rosalie to take.
"Why do they do that every time they dance. Even in the freaking living room."Kate thought it was annoying that Rosalie and Tanya did the same thing every time they danced.
"I think it's cute."Irina found it adorable that her sisters liked to recreate their first meeting. She wished that she and Victoria had a more romantic meeting than Irina saving her from slavery. Then again it did save Victoria and Anne from a life of horrors so she couldn't really complain. Turning her attention to Victoria Irina held out her arm."Victoria Denali would you care to dance?"
"I would be delighted."Victoria would take any chance she could get to dance with Irina. Something they went to human clubs to do on date nights. That was one of the rules that Victoria didn't mind Tanya making. Mated couples were told they had to spend at least two days a month by themself away from home. It didn't matter if they just went out and stayed in the woods for two days they had to spend at least two days away from the family. Tanya encouraged them to spend as much time together reaffirming their bonds as they could. Tanya had a great respect for mate bonds even before she met Rosalie. When Victoria was sixteen and she and Irina officially became a couple Tanya was the one who gave the pair date ideas and help set up romantic getaways. When Tanya finally found a mate of her own Victoria was overjoyed for the coven leader because she finally got to experience what the others did with her help.
Eleazar bowed and held out his hand to Carmen."Can I have this dance darling?"
"I would like that very much."Carmen happily let herself be led to the dance floor.
"I guess it's just you and me left."Kate said.
"I'm not dancing with you."Anne told her.
"I'm an amazing dancer."Kate was highly offended that Anne wouldn't dance with her.
"The last time I danced with you you stomped down on my foot so hard I lost three toes."With Kate's track record Anne would probably lose a whole foot the next time.
"It's not my fault you weren't following my lead."Kate told her.
"You were jumping up and down like maniac. The only place you were leading me was to an injury."Anne had sworn off dancing with Kate after that incident. Now her preferred partner was Rosalie as the girl had trained extensively when she was human and was the best dancer in the family. Rosalie had kept up with the times and had taught the rest of the family to dance to each new dance style as the fads changed throughout the years."The first song is over anyway. Do you see the alpha?"
Kate looked around and spotted a muscular tan skinned man sporting a military haircut that looked to be in his early thirties. He was walking towards the dance floor with a petite tan skinned girl with scars on her face that looked like they were made by an animal claw. Kate suspected it was done by one the shifters in their wolf form. Catching Tanya nodding her head towards him Kate took that as confirmation. "That's my guy."
"Don't screw this up because if I have to miss out on fighting shifters I'm going to take it out on you and Tanya won't be able save you from my wrath."Anne threatened.
"I won't."Kate didn't want to admit it but Anne's threat scarred her. The woman may not have a gift but she was ruthless when she fought against anyone. Shaking it off Kate approached the alpha and tapped him on the shoulder."Excuse me."
Sam scowled at the blond vampire who touched him. He had been told by the Cullens that the coven were harmless but he barely trusted the Cullens. There was no way he was trusting their so called cousin."What do you want?"
"May I cut in?"Kate asked.
"No."Sam reaplied sternly.
Kate turned her attention to the girl with him and held out the paper with Edward's number on it."It you ever get tired of having dog hair on your clothes give my friend a call. He will treat you right."
"How dare you!"Sam growled angrily as he snatched the paper out of Kate's hand. Looking at the number recognized it right away."Edward told you to give this to my imprint?"
Kate shrugged."He has a thing for girls that are attracted to danger."
"That son of.."Sam held on to Emily's arm and marched them up to Edward. Once he was close he grabbed Edward by the shoulder and pulled him from his chair."You dare try and take my imprint from me?"
Edward shrugged the hand from his shoulder and fixed his suit."What are you talking about?"
"Don't play dumb with me! You thought I wouldn't recognize your number?"Sam knew he something like this would happen. Vampires were disgusting vile creatures with no honor.
"What does my number have to do with this?"Edward took a minute to go over Sam's thoughts watching as Kate interacted with the alpha and gave Emily the paper with his number on and the offer. He growled."Kate!"
"Are you alright? You're shaking?"Tanya voice rose above the music and conversation.
Carlisle whose attention had been on his son and a very angry Sam looked around and noticed that Tanya was right. More than one of the shifters were reacting to their alpha's anger and seemed to be holding back from shifting."Esme, Alice, Harriet you three and I need to start getting the humans out of here. I don't know what's going on but the boys are very close to shifting."
"What's going on?"Esme asked.
"I don't know but all of the wolves are pissed."Jasper had felt the anger flow through the room like a title wave.
"We can ask questions later. We need to move quickly. Jasper and Emmett help Edward calm the wolves down."Carlisle didn't wait for a reply just moved towards the first group of humans he saw and started making apologies and ushering them to the front of the house to get them to leave.
"How do we calm them if we don't know what's wrong?"Emmett asked.
"I'm trying to use my gift but they aren't responding to it."Jasper was pushing his gift to the limits but it wasn't doing any good.
"Kate what did you do?!"Edward's voice thundered through the backyard.
Kate looked at him in confusion."Why are you so mad? I did exactly what you told me and gave the girl your phone number."
"I didn't tell you to do that."Edward didn't know what Kate was playing at but he wasn't going to put up with it.
"Wait was I supposed to wait until she was alone?"Kate asked innocently.
"Forget your silly questions. Edward Cullen you think I'm going to let you get away with insulting me by giving your number to my imprint!"Sam's body was shaking violently and he knew he was a second away from shifting.
"What the fuck Edward?!"Emmet couldn't believe his brother would do something like that. Especially at his own wedding.
"I didn't do it Emmett. Kate did."Edward glared at the blond vampire who was standing across the room with the rest of her coven all them looking perfectly calm. To calm in Edward's opinion. He had no doubt they set this up.
"Yeah because you told me to."Kate was holding back a smirk. She gave herself a little reminder to thank Tanya for letting her do this later. It wasn't often she got to cause so much chaos.
"You liar I didn't tell you to do anything."Edward turned his attention to Sam."Sam I did not tell Kate to give Emily my number."
"Let me see."Jasper took the note from Sam and frowned."Edward this is your handwriting. What did you do?"
"It's not my handwriting."Edward knew he didn't write his number down.
Irina leaned close to Tanya and whispered low enough only for the coven leader to hear."How did you copy his prissy ass handwriting?"
"I didn't. It was Rosalie. She can copy anyone's. Including all the other Cullens."Tanya whispered back. Seeing Irina's raised eyebrow Tanya shrugged."It's a hobby she greatly enjoys."
"Can she do mine?"Irina asked.
Tanya nodded."All she needs is a sample of a person's handwriting and she could mimic not only a person's handwriting but their writing prose as well."
"Jesus."Irina wanted to ask why Rosalie learned to do that but as she noticed that Edward was now in Jasper's face she decided she would wait until later.
"It is not my handwriting!"Edward once again denied.
"It is your handwriting Edward. It even has a crossed 7 and a double sided one."Jasper fully believed that Edward wrote down his number.
"I bet Kate just forged it."Edward wouldn't put it past Kate to do something like that to get him in trouble.
"I feel the need to add that Kate can barely write. She in no way can copy your handwriting."Tanya wasn't telling them something that wasn't common knowledge. After Kate learned to read she never cared about learning to write and hadn't put any effort over the centuries to get any better. If she wanted to send a letter she would dictate it to one of the family members to write for her.
"Hey I've gotten better."Kate had no interest in writing. People who wrote were giving more responsibilities. That didn't mean she was going to admit that to anyone.
"I have to agree with Tanya on this one. Kate didn't write that."Emmett said.
"Are you still going to try and deny it after your coven mates have confirmed it was you who wrote it?"Sam was waiting until he heard the last human heartbeat leave before attacking.
"Kate tell him the truth!"Edward demanded.
"Don't put the blame on me."Kate was loving every second of this. She couldn't wait until Tanya gave the signal and they could attack the wolves.
Sam motioned for one of the young shifters to come to him."Seth take Emily and the other imprints home and them come back."
"Got it Sam."Seth grabbed an unwilling Emily by the arm and led her to the car.
"Now I will give you one more chance to tell the truth and if you don't I will forced to end you."Sam heard his SUV leave and now that all the humans had left and Emily and the other imprints were gone he didn't have to hold back.
"Sam you have to believe me. My cousin are horrible people. They would do anything to discredit me. I bet all of them are in on this together."Edward looked to Carlisle when his sire returned with the other three members of his coven."Tell him Carlisle tell him I would never give my number to his imprint."
"Sam I have to side with Edward on this. He would never disrespect you or his new bride in such a way."Carlisle had heard what was going on while they were ushering the humans out."I don't know why Kate gave you that note or why it was in Edward's handwriting but he wasn't the one to tell her to do it."
"Carlisle you dare call Kate a liar!"Tanya knew Kate was lying but wasn't going to let anyone know that.
"I dare because she is lying!"Edward screeched.
"I don't even know the wolves how would I know that he was the alpha?"Kate asked.
"That's a good point. The Denali never met the wolves before."Harriet was unsure whose side she was on. While she wouldn't put it past Edward to give Emily his number she also wouldn't put it past Kate to do it to start trouble.
Edward tried to focus on each of the Denali's thoughts to find out what happened but just like always with the family they were good at hiding what they were thinking. Edward had been suspicious of the coven from the very first time he met them due that skill. It was like they had known about his gift before hand and trained themselves how to trick it."Tanya are you really going to let one of your coven members start a war between us and the wolves?"
"If you continue accusing Kate of lying I will side with the wolves in this war you speak of."Tanya threatened.
"You wouldn't dare."Edward couldn't believe that Tanya would say such a thing.
"Oh I would."Tanya promised.
"I thought we were trying to fight the wolves not fight the Cullens."Victoria whispered in Rosalie's ear.
"Edward has to get his ass kicked first."Rosalie whispered back.
"There will be no war if you do the honorable thing and fight me by yourself."Sam told him.
"Just do it Edward."Jasper didn't want to start a war with the wolves. Especially over Edward being at fault.
"I'm not going to fight him."Edward didn't do anything wrong. He shouldn't have to fight anyone.
"Is it because you know you won't win?"Kate asked.
"I could easily defeat a wolf."Edward knew he was far superior than a wolf.
"The prove it."Kate goaded.
"Fine. Sam I accept your challenge."Edward took off his suit jacket and tie. He handed both to Carlisle.
"No one is to interfere. If anyone does it will be taken as a declaration of war."Sam made sure to make eye contact with each of his wolves.
"We understand."Carlisle wasn't happy with this situation but would let it happen. It was the only way for them to clear the air.
The group followed Sam and Edward into the woods to a large clearing. Irina took off her heals and frowned at the damage."I should have worn flats."
"If I had known about this I would haven't worn a dress."Kate could fight better in pants. Not that it mattered to much. Once the fight started she would just rip her dress to allow better movement.
"These are the rules. No one is to interfere with the fight. It ends when either myself or Edward yields."Sam was going to make it a fight to the death but didn't think the vampires would agree to that."Someone call it."
"Are each of you ready?"Carlisle asked. Getting a nod from each man he spoke."Begin."
"Here we go."Anne rolled her eyes as Edward held out his arms and rushed Sam. That seemed like the only move Edward knew. Even when he fought others he always started by holding out his arms and rushing them. It never worked so Anne didn't know why he didn't try something different. Then again they had been told Edward refused to train with his family because he thought his gift would save him. That was not the case right then however. Sam easily side stepped Edward, bit down on his shoulder and threw him into a tree.
"That's going to scar."Victoria predicted Edward was going to be sporting many new scars once this was over with. Especially with the way Sam had used his front paw to claw Edward's stomach.
"Is Edward going to fight back?"Irina asked.
"I think that is him fighting back."Carmen said.
"Come on Edward you are better than this."Alice called out. She was worried for her brother because she wasn't sure how this was going to end. If it continued to go like it had Edward was going to be horribly injured by the time it was done.
"I don't think that's true. Edward doesn't join us in training."Harriet wasn't the least bit surprised with Edward's lack of ability. He relied on his gift and for some reason that tactic wasn't working to well against Sam.
"Now Kate."Tanya told Kate as soon as Sam took Edward's arm. She knew if they let the fight go farther Edward wouldn't be healed enough to go on his honeymoon.
"Alright I admit it I was the one who wrote the number. Edward had nothing to do with it."Kate proclaimed loudly stopping the fight and causing everyone to stare at her in shock.
Carlisle was the first one to break out of it."Why would you do that to my son?"
"Because I wanted to see him get his ass kicked by a bunch of weak, pitiful, puppies."Kate smiled when the alpha growled at her.
Emmett laughed."Oh my god that's epic."
"You put us all through this so that you could see Edward get beat up?"Jasper was trying to hold back his laughter as well.
"I'm impressed you put so much thought into the scheme."Harriet didn't think Kate would have taken the time to put together such an intricate plan.
"You son of a…"Edward tried to rally his strength to go after Kate but without an arm he was useless."I'm going to make you pay for this."
"How are you going to do that? You couldn't even get a hit in on that weak excuse for an alpha. I mean I could beat him and the rest of the pack with one arm behind my back, not even using my gift."Kate bragged. When more than one of the boys joined in with growling Kate cooed them."Oh aren't you a bunch of cute little puppies. I'm absolutely terrified of your little growls."
"I don't think they like you Kate."Anne said.
"Well I like them. As a matter of fact I think we should take a couple home with us to Alaska. I bet I could teach them to do tricks and play fetch."Kate was having a great time. It wasn't often that Tanya let her do something like this. The only thing that would make it better was if the wolves would finally attack."I think that we would have to get custom collars made though. Their necks are a little big for a regular one. Then of course they will need to be named. What do you think Vic? What should we name the Alpha?"
Victoria took a second to think about it."I think we should name him ole yeller."
"Why ole yeller?"Irina asked.
"Because just like the dog in the movie if the alpha got out of hand we would shoot him."Victoria explained. That seemed the least straw for Sam as he lunged for Victoria only to be intercepted by Irina punching him in the face. That seemed to piss off the rest of the wolves and each of them shifted as well.
"I guess we are fighting the wolves."Tanya tried to sound resigned but it was hard to mask the excitement in her voice.
"Are we going to help?"Esme asked.
"No, this is something the Denali will have to deal with themselves."Carlisle wasn't pleased that the wolves were fighting his cousins but they had started it.
"We aren't going to help the Denali?"Harriet would have thought they would stand with the other family.
"If we did we would break the alliance we have with the wolves."Carlisle didn't want to be at war with the wolves. He liked the area and wanted to stay for a couple more years with the option of coming back in a few decades.
"So we are going to let the Denali fend for themselves?"Alice didn't like that idea.
"It doesn't seem they need our help anyway."Emmett watched Rosalie kick one of the wolves in the stomach hard enough that he could hear the bones break. She followed that up with putting the wolf in a choke hold causing him to pass out."I didn't know Rosalie knew how to fight like that."
Carlisle winced as he saw Carmen slam one of the wolves into a tree."The Denali have been doing rigorous training since they were created. If the Volturi guard didn't have their gifted members I could easy seeing the Denali winning against them."
"They are that talented?"Jasper didn't think his cousins were the type to train like that.
"Don't let their laid back attitude fool you. The Denali are a deadly group. I think they proved it when they were able to defeat the newborns so easily."Carlisle hadn't been to surprised when the Denali told them they killed the newborns. His actual worry about them going alone was if they got ambushed. That and if there were a bigger number of newborns than what Alice had seen.
"Well they are making quick work of the wolves. Anne is just finishing off Sam."Harriet was impressed with the Denali's skill. She knew her own family wouldn't have been successful against the wolves. From what she could tell minus some ripped clothing the wolves didn't do any damage to her cousins. Not like Sam did to Edward who was still trying to reattach his arm. That brought a thought to Harriet."Why didn't you use your gift against Sam?"
"I tried but his mind was blank. It was like he was running on pure animal instincts."Edward hadn't even known the wolves could do that. Sam's mind was that of an animal not a human.
"Intriguing."Carlisle wondered if all shifters could do that or if it was an alpha trait.
"It looks like they are done."Jasper just like everyone else was impressed with the Denali's skill. That and he was impressed with the fact that although they had hurt the wolves it seemed that none of the injuries were life threatening. While debilitating Jasper expected them to heal quickly and be perfectly fine.
Tanya lifted the alpha's head to make eye contact with him."Next time one of you attack one of my family we won't be so nice."
"Well that was kind of a let down."Kate said.
"I had fun."Carmen had enjoyed beating on the wolves.
"I had fun to I was just hoping for more of a challenge. It was just like the newborns the fight was to easy. Next time we fight someone let's make sure they at least have a gift. That or maybe we can take on an army of mature vampires."Kate would like a chance to actually have an opponent fight back. Not just her beating on them.
"I'm sure your will get your chance in the future."Tanya knew that Kate would be involved in many wars after the big event.
"You saying that makes me feel a lot better."Kate was now excited. If Tanya said she was going to be in better fights in the future it guaranteed Kate was going to get better fights.
"Do you want my assistance helping with your pack's injuries?"Carlisle asked Sam who was now in human form as were most of the boys with the exception of three who were passed out.
"We can handle our own."Sam didn't want Carlisle touching his people. He was only being civil with the vampire because the Cullens didn't join their cousins in the fight. It showed he wasn't on their side.
"Call me if you change your mind."Carlisle offered.
"Those that can, gather the ones who can't walk and bring them to our healer."Sam ordered the pack.
"I wish they would let me help them."Carlisle said as the group watched the wolves go back to the reservation.
"Well since that's over I think my family is going to head back to Alaska."Tanya knew they had to leave so that they weren't there when Jessica called Harriet and Emmett to help her save the baby. Something that would be happening in two days.
"So soon. I thought you would stay to visit longer."Esme had expected the Denali to stay and spend some time with the family. She had some new plants she wanted to show Anne.
"Yeah I was hoping Rosalie would add a lift kit to my new jeep."Emmett only trusted Rosalie to work on his cars. The vampire might not speak much but she was the best mechanic Emmett had ever known. She always an expert at modifying their vehicles to adjust to their vampire abilities. Making it so they didn't have to worry about breaking off door handles or ruining the shocks if they jumped around in the vehicles. She even reinforced the bed of a pick up truck for Kate that allowed her to jump up and down on it without it buckling. That wasn't even getting into the work she did on motorcycles. She built her own motorcycle from scratch fabricating everything by hand that resulted in the bike clocking the fastest time in the world ever recorded by a two wheeled vehicle. Emmett tried it once and it was the only time he went faster than running at full vampire speed.
"Maybe next time."Tanya knew Rosalie would enjoy the project when they came back because it would give her a way to not be around all the vampires that were going to be gathered at the Cullens to serve as witnesses."Text me the information on the jeep and what you want done to it and she's order everything she needs to work on it."
"I'll do that."Although sad it wouldn't be done right away Emmett was happy that Rosalie would have time to order parts. That would just make it so she had more time to plan a better rebuild. It would also give him more time to come up with a list of things he wanted done to it.
"Well then I guess this is good bye. Tanya, family it was good seeing you."Carlisle said.
"Good seeing them?! They lied about me hitting on Emily and started a fight against the wolves!"Edward couldn't believe that his family was being so polite to the Denali.
"Oh lighten up Edward. It was just a joke."A joke that Kate loved being involved in.
"Yeah Edward no one but the wolves got hurt."Harriet corrected herself."Well the wolves and you but that was to be expected as you are a shit fighter."
"I am a great fighter. Sam cheated by relying on his wolf."Edward knew he would have won if Sam had fought fairly.
"Here we go."Emmett knew that Edward would never accept that he lost the fight fair and square.
"Anyway. Shouldn't you get going Edward. You have a honeymoon planned that you will be late for if you don't leave soon."Alice had helped Edward plan it and didn't want her hard work to go to waste because Edward was arguing with everyone.
"I do actually. Family I will see you in a couple of weeks."Edward didn't wait for a reply and just made his way to the house to collect Jessica and their luggage. His wife stayed in the house during the altercation so that she would be safe. No one would hurt her on purpose it was just that with emotions running high accidents could have easily happened.
"Well it's been fun guys. Let's do this again sometime."Kate said.
"Which part would you like to do again. Edward's wedding, Edward getting beat up or you guys fighting the wolves?"Alice asked.
"All of it."Kate replied.
"As it is almost guaranteed that Edward and Jessica will get married again I'm sure you'll have your chance."Jasper was looking forward to what kind of craziness Kate would bring to the Edward's next wedding. It would hard to top this one. Then again Kate had a lot of time to plan.
"As always Carlisle call on us if you need us. We are always on your side no matter what situation you find yourselves in."Tanya knew that Carlisle would be taking her up on that offer very soon. In a little over a month to be exact.
"Thank you Tanya."Carlisle may have been upset with Kate causing a fight but he knew that the Denali were good people. They had always come to Carlisle's aide no matter the circumstances and had gotten Carlisle out of trouble numerous times. They had also help him set up his life and been the only people in beginning that supported his ambition to be a doctor. If it weren't for them he would probably still be living in the castle with the kings and would have never had his family.
"You're welcome. Now come on everyone I want to get home before the snow storm hits."Tanya took Rosalie's hand in her own and led her coven to their van. She opened the driver's side door for Rosalie and then took her place in the passenger's seat.
Irina waited until Rosalie had driven far enough away from the Cullen's house to speak."Why are we really leaving in such a hurry?"
"We need to be away from the Cullens for what is to come."Tanya told her.
"Does this mean you are finally going to tell us what's going on?"Anne asked.
"Everything will be revealed soon I promise. You just have to wait a little over two months and I will tell you everything."It was getting harder not to tell her family all about Isabella and her gift but she knew that it would ruin all their plans. If she told them centuries of work would have been for nothing and her family, Isabella and Isabella's mothers would no doubt be killed. That being something Tanya wasn't willing to risk.
Kate sighed."I hate waiting but at least we know when it will happen."
"It will be worth it I promise."Tanya knew it would be. Her family was going to be surprised but Tanya sure they would understand. The were definitely going to be excited to meet Isabella once they found out about who she was and her gifts. Tanya was sure that Kate was going to pester Isabella to give her winning lottery numbers or try to get her to go to a casino to gamble. Tanya made a mental note to interfere if Kate tried to convince Isabella to use her gift for questionable reasons. Not that Isabella didn't do it all the time anyway. As it was that's the main thing Isabella did. She used her gift of sight to manipulate everyone around her to get the results that shaped the future to her specifications. It was for noble cause though. A cause that would be out in the open in a little over two months. Tanya grinned thinking about being finally able to kill the kings and be reunited with Isabella. It had been too long since she had seen her lost love. Looking over at Rosalie when she felt her mate take her hand Tanya could see the same excitement reflected back at her. Tanya didn't have to be a mind reader to know Rosalie was thinking the same thing she was. The pair talked about it all the time when they were in private. They were anxiously waiting Isabella's next letter because not only would it be the last before they saw her again it would contain the final plan in full detail. That would give Rosalie and Tanya their exact roles in the fight. Something they would have to practice before they joined the Cullens. Not that Tanya was worried. Isabella would never let anything happen to her mates. She sacrificed her entire life to keep them safe. There was no way the seer would be sloppy during the big event. It was that faith that made Tanya confident enough to know they would be successful and once everything was said and done the kings would be dead and Tanya and her mates would be standing tall.
