12 DAYS BEFORE THE BIG EVENT
"KATE I'M GOING TO KILL YOU!"Edward's voice thundered from inside the Cullen's home. Tanya rolled her eyes when she saw Kate standing with the Egyptian coven looking quite pleased with herself. They had been at the Cullen's home for about two weeks waiting for the kings to come. Tanya had spent most of that time with Rosalie making polite conversation with the other covens who seemed to have sought her out more than the other coven leaders. It was obvious they were looking for alliances. Tanya hadn't really minded to much except when dealing with the Romanians and Garrett. The Romanians had tried to be sly with their questions but Tanya easily picked up on their intentions. They wanted to know the Denali's fighting capabilities and if they were planning to engage the kings or only going to be witnesses. Garrett had been not so subtly been inquiring if Tanya and Rosalie had an open sexual relationship. She had shut him done numerous times and was close to killing the man. Tanya had also told her family about it so they made sure Rosalie was never caught alone. Isabella hadn't mentioned anything about him but Tanya wasn't going to take any chances.
"What did you do?"Tia asked Kate in excitement. She wasn't a big fan of Edward and liked the way Kate constantly antagonized him.
"I didn't do anything."Kate lied. She did a bunch of things. It was just a matter of what Edward stumbled upon first. Looking up as Edward rushed out of the house with all the visible skin on his body a bright blue color Kate realized Edward had used the body wash she added the clothes dye to. She smirked when Edward got in her face. "You feeling depressed Edward? You're looking a little blue."
"Edward stop!"Carlisle grabbed Edward's arm and pulled him away from Kate."Emmett help."
"On it."Emmett grabbed Edward's other arm and with Carlisle pulled him away from Kate.
Edward struggled against Carlisle and Emmett's hold."YOU BITCH!"
"Edward! Don't call her that."Esme scolded.
"I'll call her whatever I like. Look what she did to me!"Edward screamed.
"I didn't do anything to you."Kate denied.
"Yes you did!"Edward wasn't going to let Kate lie to him.
Tanya seeing the tension rising decided it was time to step in. "What are you accusing Kate of now?"
"She turned my skin blue."Edward told her.
"What proof do you have she did it?"Tanya had no doubt that Kate did it but wasn't going to let Edward accuse her sister without proof.
"Who else would have done it?"Edward knew Kate was behind this.
"You have gained enemies out of everyone here. Including the wolves. I think you should be asking who wouldn't have done it."Tanya had seen Carlisle break up over a dozen fights due to Edward pissing off their allies. He even went after the Romanians accusing them of being spies for the Volturi.
"The only enemies I have are you and the rest of your coven."Edward was well loved and respected. It was the Denali who made enemies not him.
Kate snorted a laugh."Are you serious? Carlisle has had to stop everyone here from killing you. Two hours ago one of the wolves almost succeeded."
"I'm too much of a threat for anyone else to try something like this. You however can't get it though your mind that you are inferior to me."Edward spat out.
"You a threat?!"Kate wasn't the only one who laughed at Edward.
"I'm the only reason everyone showed up. They were afraid to get on my bad side."Edward was far superior than all the vampires that had shown up at the Cullen's.
"The only reason all of us showed up was because of Carlisle. If we had known it had to do with you we would have steered clear of the whole situation."The child was the only reason Siobhan had let her coven stay. If it was just about Edward they would have left right away.
"After this is over we are officially cutting ties due the amount of disrespect you have shown me and my sisters."Zafrina and her coven mates stayed for the same reason the Irish coven stayed. They didn't want to see an innocent child harmed. Once everyone was dealt with they would not respond to anymore requests from Carlisle.
"Now let's not be hasty."Carlisle did not want to lose the Amazons as allies. The coven may be small but they held a lot of power in the vampire world. Even the kings didn't target them and they had the entire guard backing them.
"We weren't going to announce it but we are also going to be cutting ties once this is over."Amun not only didn't like Edward, he didn't want to be dragged into another serious conflict. The only good thing that came out of responding to the call was that he had made alliances with the Denali, Amazons and the Irish coven. All three formable in their own rights and good groups to have on your side.
"We are also going to be cutting ties due to Edward's disrespect of not only us but all the others who are here to help him."Siobhan was of the same thought Amun. They didn't want to be dragged into another serious conflict. She did appreciate the new alliances as well. Her family had already made plans with Victoria, Anne and Irina for a future visit to Ireland and had received an invitation to Alaska in return.
"I don't think anything that has happened is bad enough for you all to not continue to associate with us."Carlisle's mind was in overdrive trying to figure out a way to keep the other covens as allies. The ones he had called upon were the most powerful and not vampires he wanted to lose. At least it seemed Tanya wasn't pulling her family's support away. That would be a devastating blow.
"You don't think that anything that Edward has done is bad enough for them to stop associating with you?"Garrett asked. The only reason he even stayed was because he wanted to sleep with Rosalie. He wouldn't mind a chance at Anne and Kate but they both made it very clear they weren't interested. He had been trying to speak to Rosalie about it but the girl was never by herself and he hadn't the chance yet.
"I have done nothing wrong."Edward was the victim not the others.
"He actually believes that."Maggie had never met anyone as full of themselves as Edward and she had met the three kings. Even Caius wasn't so quick to insult people and start fights.
"Of course he does and he will never be convinced otherwise. Especially with all the praise and hero worship he gets from the rest of his coven."Victoria said.
"That's true they do treat him like he is untouchable and can do no wrong. Carlisle not reprimanding him or punishing him in anyway after the many insults are more than enough proof of that."Benjamin didn't know any coven leader who would allow one of their coven members to act the way Edward did without there being severe consequences.
"I hold my son responsible for his actions."Carlisle held all his children responsible for what they did.
"How has he been held responsible for anything that has happened since all of us have shown up?"Irina asked.
"I spoke to him about it and he agreed that he would change his behavior in the future."Carlisle told her.
Rosalie leaned over to whisper in Tanya's ear."Do think it would ruin things if we let them kill Edward before the big event?"
"It may not ruin things but it would take longer if we had to deal with the hassle of explaining to the kings what happened."Tanya whispered back.
Rosalie sighed."You're right. If we take time to do that it would keep us from being with Isabella right away."
"And neither of us want to delay that."Tanya wished they could kill the boy but it wasn't time yet. Maybe that was the reason that Isabella hadn't given them the go ahead. It would have complicated things.
"What are you two taking about?"Anne kept her voice low so that only Tanya and Rosalie could hear her.
"The repercussions of letting the group kill Edward."Tanya told her.
Anne perked up hearing that."What did you decide?"
"They would be to great to allow it."Tanya smiled when she saw Anne deflate. It was quite obvious that she and Rosalie weren't the only ones who wanted the boy dead.
"And after the first time he ignored your lecture what did you do?"Kate asked. She had seen her sisters whispering to each other and was planning on asking what they were talking about later. It had to be important because Rosalie wouldn't have made the effort to say anything in front of other people if it wasn't necessary.
"Well I.. he.. I just."Carlisle stuttered out.
"He ignored you and continued to act anyway he wanted."Carmen answered for him.
"So Carlisle. You have been called out by not only my coven but three others. What is it you plan to do about the problem Edward has become?"Zafrina asked.
"Edward will of course apologize."Carlisle said.
"I'm not going to apologize. I was the one wronged. Look at my skin."Edward wasn't going to apologize to anyone.
"Since he isn't even going to apologize now what are you going to do Carlisle?"Siobhan was interested in how Carlisle was going to handle this with Edward being unwilling to even admit his wrongdoing.
"Edward is justified in being upset about his skin. The person who did it should come forward and apologize first. Then Edward would be more than happy to apologize to the rest of you."Carlisle knew that once the person who turned Edward's skin blue came forward then Edward would be calm enough to apologize to everyone else.
"You think that having his skinned dyed is equal to all the things that Edward has said and done to all of us?"Irina asked.
"It's worse."Carlisle thought that Edward looking so unkept was a horrible offense.
"You think that Edward having blue skin is worse than him demanding the Amazons change their clothes and when they declined him calling them names that I am not comfortable repeating?"Kate asked.
"Edward was worried about exposing his child to women in such state of undress."Carlisle also had a problem with the way the Amazons dressed but held his tongue as to not cause waves. He was actually happy that Edward said something.
"If he was so worried about his child he wouldn't have used such horrible and vile language. Unless of course he is trying to teach his daughter that it is perfectly acceptable for men to speak to women that way."Maggie said.
"A man has a right to speak to a woman any way he wishes."Edward was well within his right to talk to the Amazon the way he did.
Anne leaned over to whisper in Tanya's ear."Are you sure we can't kill him?"
"Not yet."Tanya whispered back. The only thing holding her back was that Isabella hadn't mentioned doing it. That likely meant they weren't supposed to do it.
"Soon though right?"Anne took Tanya saying not yet as it was definitely going to happen.
"I will let you all know when I get permission."Tanya told her.
Anne perked up hearing Tanya admit that she got information from someone."Permission from who?"
"You will meet them soon."Tanya promised."Until then we will have deal with the idiot."
"If you don't want anyone to kill him you may need to step in soon."Anne said watching as Siobhan and Liam held back Maggie.
"I'm going to let them fight it out a little before I step in."Tanya didn't need everyone turning their anger on her.
"I'll teach how to speak to a woman."Maggie was going to beat Edward to prove just how inferior he was.
"You think you could hurt me?"Edward laughed at the very idea.
"I think a human child could hurt you."Victoria said.
"I could beat anyone here in a fight."Edward wasn't scared of the vampires gathered.
"I have proven many times how weak you are. Do I need to give you a reminder?"Kate was more than willing to beat on Edward.
"Now let's not lower ourselves to violence."Carlisle needed to get this situation under control before someone got hurt.
"Then how should we deal with this man child you sired?"Carmen asked.
"First the person who dyed this skin blue needs to come forward. Once an apology is given then Edward will walk away and keep his distance from all of you."Carlisle thought the was the perfect solution.
"If you think one of us is apologizing to Edward for anything then you need share the drugs you're on because I personally would love to get as high as you are right now."Kate wasn't going to apologize to Edward. Nor was she going to admit that she was the one who did it.
"An apology is owed. Look at him."Carlisle pointed to Edward's blue face."He can't be seen in public or speak to the wolves looking like this."
"I tell you what. Once Edward is punished for everything he has done the person who did it will come forward. Does everyone agree?"Irina asked getting murmurs of agreement from the others.
"I told you Edward has already been spoken to and promised to change his behavior."Carlisle didn't understand why they were holding such a grudge against Edward. The boy had shown his remorse and promised to be less confrontational.
"Which time did you speak to him? The first time he acted out or after the numerous other times. Including the fight he just got into with the wolves a couple hours ago?"Tia asked. She was very unimpressed with Carlisle. After hearing from Amun that he was a respectable man she was more than willing to help but as she had gotten to know Edward and the other members of his coven she doubted the man knew what he word respect meant. Her coven leader hadn't met the rest of the Cullens so none of them held his ignorance against him.
"The wolves started that fight."Edward said.
"Because you called them a bunch of mangy dogs and told them we didn't need them. Then to top it off you made a comment about Emily's scars."Anne reminded him.
"It's not my fault Sam can't control himself."Edward wasn't going to take the blame for someone else's issues.
"Nothing you do is your fault is it?"Irina asked.
"I don't know why I'm being attacked. I am the victim here."Edward didn't understand why everyone was pointing the finger at him. He didn't do anything wrong.
"A part you play very well."Jessica said as she made her way out the house where she was spending time with Mason, Jacob, Seth and Leah. She hadn't wanted to get involved with the fight but Edward had pushed the group far enough and she worried that if she interfere they all might leave. Jessica was extremely unhappy that he broke all of the alliances they had with each coven. Something that they would likely be needing to rely on in future as Mason got older.
"What do you mean?"Edward asked.
"I mean that you always make yourself out to be a victim when in fact it is you who starts the fights. Something I am sick of. These people are here to save our daughter. Someone who you haven't willingly spent a minute with since they were born and you have the audacity to insult every single one of them. Don't even get me started on the fact that you thought you had a right to speak about Sam and Emily's relationship."Jessica held a hand up to stop Edward from speaking."No you have said enough. Now it's my turn."
"Damn."Kate mumbled earning an elbow in the side from Irina.
"Keep out of it."Irina didn't want Kate to get in the middle of this.
"You think just because you have your silly little gift that you are god's gift to the world and can do no wrong. Well Edward I am here to tell you that you are anything but a gift. You make me not only embarrassed to be mated to but I am embarrassed to even know you. If I could I would kill you myself. That's how much I dislike you right now."Jessica told him.
"Jessica how could you say that?"Edward was appalled that his mate would say such thing.
"Because it's the truth. Now I'm going to go pack some bags for myself and Mason and we are going to go stay with Sam and Emily. If you need to contact me you are to call Sam. He will handle any and all communication between the two of us from now on."Jessica had already reached out to Emily and made arrangements. Being the mother of Jacob's imprint gave her an open invitation to the reservation. Edward was not giving the same right so Jessica wouldn't have to worry about him coming after her.
"You can't do that!"Edward made a move towards Jessica only to find himself be held back by Siobhan and Liam."Let me go!"
"I'm letting you harm the girl."Siobhan wasn't going to let Edward get his hands on the newborn.
"I can and I will."Jessica turned her attention to the rest of the group."I want to say thank you all for being here to save my daughter. I will never be able to repay any of you for your sacrifice. I would apologize for Edward's behavior but he and to a lesser degree Carlisle are responsible for his own actions. That being said you have my full support in doling out any punishment you see fit on either of them. I just ask that they not be killed because we will need them for when the kings come. Depending on how the meeting goes you have my permission to kill them afterword."
"Jessica!"Edward screeched in outrage.
Jessica glared at him."I would rather deal with the pain of my mate dying than spend another day in your company."
"Shit."Now it was Irina earning an elbow in the side from Kate.
"Would you all be so kind to restrain him until I leave? I know he is going to throw a fit and I fear he may get violent."Jessica predicted that Edward would try everything he could to keep her from leaving.
"We are more than willing to help you young one."Siobhan would gladly help Jessica get away from Edward.
"Thank you. You guys can come out now."Jessica called out. She smiled when Jacob ran forward with Mason in his arms followed by Seth and Leah.
Leah glared at Edward. She was very happy that her best friend was getting away from the immature vampire."Let's get out of here."
"Sam is waiting with some of the others at the line."Jacob was as of the same thought as Leah. He was very happy that Jessica was getting away from Edward. Plus having Mason on the reservation would give her better protection from all the vampires. He didn't trust any of than other the Denali.
"Jessica I don't think it's a good idea to be separated from Edward. It will cause him a lot of distress."Carlisle told her.
"I think the only distress Edward will feel once I'm gone is due to the fact he can no longer control my every move."Jessica knew that Edward would only be upset because he wouldn't be able to dictate her life any longer.
"That's not true. My son loves you. You are the most important thing in his life."Carlisle knew that Edward loved his mate.
"The most important thing in Edward's life is himself. I'll have Sam contact you and let you know when it's safe to release him."Jessica didn't wait for a reply. She just followed after Jacob with Seth and Leah following behind to protect her in case Edward got free.
"Jessica get back here!"Edward screeched. He fought as hard as he could but he couldn't break free of Liam and Siobhan."I demand you come back right this second!"
"Well that was exciting."Kate hadn't expected when she put the dye in Edward's body wash it would lead to what happened. All she was hoping for was a chance to beat on the idiot. Now all the vampires in the clearing except for the Romanians, Garrett and her coven had broken their alliances with Carlisle and Edward's mate had taken their child and broke up with him. Not that the Denali would be their allies much longer either. Tanya had already told them they wouldn't have to be putting up with the other coven very soon.
"Emmett picked up the extra parts for his jeep. Will you come with me to the garage?"Rosalie asked Tanya.
"Of course sweetheart."Tanya wanted a chance to discuss everything that had just happened with Rosalie. She was surprised that Isabella hadn't warned them it was going to happen.
"I'll go with you."Anne too wanted a chance to talk about what happened. The fact that Tanya and Rosalie didn't seem to know in advance was a shock because this was the first time they hadn't been warned of such a big event. She also wanted to ask Tanya some questions about the person who gave her information on the future.
"We will go to."Irina said.
"Us as well."Carmen not only wanted to speak to Tanya and Rosalie but wanted to leave the tense situation they had found themselves in.
"We will be in the garage. Let me know if you need anything from us."Tanya told the group. Wrapping her arm around Rosalie's shoulder she pulled her mate close to her and led her family to the garage. It wasn't the safest place to speak to each other but it wasn't safe for them to be running through the woods with the wolves being so agitated. They would likely attack without thought. Not that Tanya could blame them. She did wonder how Carlisle was going to smooth over this situation. It was obvious that Jessica was not coming back anytime soon. The fact that she could willingly be away from her mate was confusing. There wasn't a moment since she met Isabella that Tanya didn't feel the pain of not being with her mate. If the fate of the world wasn't on their shoulders she would have sought her out centuries ago. The fact that Jessica voluntarily left her mate and was so angry at him wasn't normal. Tanya fully believed Jessica when she said she wouldn't care Edward was dead. If Tanya didn't know any better she would think the pair weren't actually mated. Thinking through everything Isabella had told her about Edward she realized that never once did Isabella say they were mates. All she ever said on the subject was that they would have child together. Tanya assumed that meant they were mated. She would ask Isabella once they were reunited. If anyone would know it would be her. Placing a kiss on the top of Rosalie's head Tanya smiled at the thought of seeing her lost love. After centuries of waiting they had less than two weeks until the big event. Then they would kill the kings and together the trio would take over the world. The future never looked brighter.
