PRESENT TIME FORKS, WASHINGTON
"I missed you so much."Tanya told Isabella once she pulled back from their kiss. The kings and most of their allies in the guard were dead. It had taken centuries to get to this moment and now that it was here Tanya felt the urge to cry in relief. She was not only being reunited with her love but she could finally tell her family about Isabella. She wouldn't have lie to and manipulate her family to get them to do what needed to be done anymore. Tanya could finally live openly with both her mates. They wouldn't have to be apart ever again. Reaching her hand out for Rosalie Tanya pulled her into a three person hug with Isabella. Breathing in both their scents Tanya felt her body relax for the time since Isabella had sought her out in that tavern in the 14th century.
"I missed you both."Isabella replied. Before she could say anymore she heard a familiar voice.
"Isabella!"Colette called out rushing to her daughter.
"Mother."Isabella happily let herself be pulled out of the hug with her mates and into her mother's arms.
"My darling girl you did."Colette couldn't have been more proud than she was seeing everything Isabella had planned come to fruition.
"We all did it."Isabella wasn't going to take all the credit. It had been a group effort."Have you found Athenodora yet?"
"No I wanted to see you first and make sure you were alright."Colette had been living for centuries in a state of anxiety not knowing if Isabella was safe. She needed to see with her own eyes that her daughter was fine before she sought out her mate.
"I'm perfectly fine and I got to kill Caius."Isabella was very happy that she was the one who killed the horrible man. It would have been better for Athenodora to be the one to do it but she was needed to help the other queens.
"You and Tanya did a magnificent job."Collette had watched the whole thing and was beyond pleased with the way the pair made Caius suffer before killing him.
"Mother let me introduce you to Rosalie."Isabella reached behind her and once she felt a hand in her own pulled Rosalie next to her.
"It's nice to finally meet you Colette."Rosalie was nervous about meeting both of Bella's mothers and wished she could have met them at the same time. It would have been nice to get it over with quickly.
"It's nice to you meet you as well Rosalie."Colette looked the girl over and was impressed with the way Rosalie held her gaze. She could tell Rosalie was nervous but was putting on a strong face.
"It's good to see you again Colette."Tanya said.
"I have heard of your many exploits and I have to say that you have certainly made me proud to have you as a daughter in law."Colette had been keep up to date with all of Tanya's work throughout the years and was happy that the coven leader proved to be such an honorable vampire. Tanya had gained Colette's approval quickly.
Tanya stood up a little taller at the praise. She had always hoped to gain Colette's approval and now that she had she was very proud of herself."That's kind of you to say."
"Now then I know you three have a lot of explaining to do so I will take this chance to seek out my mate."Colette didn't want to be involved with the politics to come. Plus she wanted to finally meet Athenodora in person. The pair exchanged letters but that wasn't the same as meeting in person.
"I guess we do."Rosalie wished they could just ignore the group but knew it was up to her and her mates to explain what was going on.
"We need to take care of the Romanians as well."Isabella reminded them.
"I'm looking forward to that."Tanya had been holding herself back from killing the pair ever since they arrived in Forks.
"Have they been giving you problems?"Isabella asked.
"Not really. It's just having to be polite to them when I know what they are planning to do is hard."Tanya took a hold of Isabella's arm.
"I will leave you to it and meet up with you three later."Colette gave Isabella a kiss on the forehead."Let me know if you need me for anything."
"Thank you mother."Isabella hated that her mother wasn't going with them but understood this was something she and her mates had to take off.
"I guess we better get this over with."Rosalie held onto Isabella other arm and walked with the pair to the other side of the clearing where her family and the rest of the vampires that came to help out were standing. When they got closer they were overwhelmed with so many questions that Rosalie couldn't hear any of them clearly.
Tanya raised her voice so that she could be heard over the noise."Everyone calm down!"
"Calm down?! First you and Rosalie help start a revolt which leads to the kings and half the guard being killed, then you are making out with Isabella who is supposed to be blind but can fight better than anyone in the group and now you expect us to calm down?"Kate didn't think she would be able to calm down ever again.
"First things first. Rose, Tanya if you would?"Isabella asked.
"Of course."Rosalie wasted no time rushing to Stephan and ripping his head off. Tanya doing the same to Vladimir.
"What the fuck?!"Emmett exclaimed in shock.
"What do you think you are doing?Reattach their heads right now!"Carlisle demanded.
"Jane!"Isabella called out causing the small vampire to rush to her side.
"What do you need?"Jane asked.
"Can you take care of burning the Romanians so that no one gets the idea of putting them back together?"Isabella didn't want to deal with anyone reattaching their heads.
"Sure."Jane grabbed the bodies and heads and made her way back to the other side of the field where they had already started a bonfire to burn the other bodies.
"Now that's taken care I do believe explanations are in order."Isabella said.
"That would be nice because I didn't see any of this when I got a vision of what was going to happen. I thought the only way to save us all was finding another hybrid to present to the kings."Alice had seen it in a vision the kings letting them go after Alice showed Aro what would happen if the Volturi attacked them. Not once did she see the guard turning on the kings or Rosalie and Tanya kissing Isabella.
"Your visions are completely unreliable and you really shouldn't put any faith in them."Rosalie said. She was unsurprised by the looks of shock she was getting from the group. Now that she was reunited with Isabella she wasn't going to hold her tongue anymore. She had the most powerful vampire in existence by her side and Rosalie wasn't going to worry about people talking and approaching her. Isabella would protect her.
"They aren't unreliable."Alice was highly offended that Rosalie would say such a thing.
"If they weren't unreliable then you wouldn't have left on a meaningless mission to find a vampire we don't need."Tanya told her.
Jasper put his hand on Alice's arm to stop her from arguing."Regardless you promised an explanation."
"I suppose I should begin at my first meeting with Isabella."Tanya thought that was a good place to start.
"What do you mean first meeting and why haven't you ever mentioned her before?"Irina had thought that she knew all of Tanya's friends. Or as she thought about the kiss Tanya shared with Isabella her mates."Is Isabella your mate?"
"Yes, she is both mine and Rosalie's second mate."Tanya held up a hand to stop everyone from questioning her."Let me tell you our story then you can ask your questions."
"Fine but just so you know I have dozens."Kate's mind was overfilled with things to ask Tanya about.
"I first met Isabella during the 14th century."Tanya said continuing her story."She came to me with her mother Colette. The pair told me a very alarming story. A story about the kings systematically eliminating every coven of vampires that had gifted members to gain them for the guard. They were going to have Chelsea credit false bonds to keep them loyal."
"Although that sounds like something the kings would do, how would they know?"Siobhan asked.
"Isabella is gifted with not only her shield but she has the gift of sight."Tanya told them.
"Why did you never pick that up?"Carmen asked Eleazar.
"Isabella's shield must have blocked it. Even after all this time I can't get a read on her."Eleazar had tried many times to figure out the full extent of Isabella's gift but had never been successful.
"Is Isabella the one you get all your information from?"Anne figured that was the person Tanya mentioned that she had to get permission to kill Edward from.
"She is."Tanya confirmed."It was also Isabella who came up with a plan to stop the kings. She posed as a newborn whose sire abandoned them and was found by Jane and Alec. Instead of killing her they bought her back to the castle where she was presented to the kings who were more than willing to take her in. She never told them of her her ability to see the future and made them believe that because of her lack of sight she was a weak vampire who would never betray them due to her reliance on them."
"So she is blind then?"Maggie asked.
"I was born blind and continued to be when I was turned."Isabella told her.
"Not to say you are lying but we watched you just fight and kill the three kings. One of them by yourself. If you're blind how did you do it?"Emmett didn't think anyone who could fight like Isabella didn't have the ability to see.
"I can control my visions. To get around I use my gift to see a few seconds into the future to guide me."Isabella explained.
"Now I can see what you mean about Alice's gift."Harriet said.
"Please continue your story. I am very interested in hearing how all this led to the kings being killed."Amun wanted to know how Isabella was able to plan and succeed in overthrowing the kings while living in the castle.
"While Isabella was living in the castle she made allies. With those allies she was able to stop the kings from finding and killing covens with gifted members. Jane was my contact and has been bringing me letters from Isabella since she was brought to the castle."Tanya told them.
"Wait Jane has been visiting you."Seeing Tanya nod Anne was even more flabbergasted."How could we have not known about that?"
"Isabella told me in advance when and where to meet Jane every time she wanted to send a letter. I also used the excuse of hunting or having to go to town to meet up with her."Tanya had a spot four hours away if she ran that was well out of their territory.
"For centuries you have been meeting Jane and none us even suspected it."Victoria didn't understand how they never caught on.
"My gift is never wrong."Isabella said.
"We have seen the many examples to prove that."Irina wasn't sure what to think now that Tanya had revealed how she got all her information."So you have known about this confrontation ever since you met Isabella."
"My part in all of this was to befriend Carlisle and make sure he found Edward."Tanya was pleased that she would no longer have to pretend to like him or his family.
"Wait you sought me out on purpose?"Carlisle had always thought that Tanya was brought into his life by god because of all she had done for him and his family. To find out different was jarring.
"I needed to get you away from the Volturi and to make sure you became a doctor. That would make it so you found not only Esme but Edward as well."Tanya wasn't going to mention that he was suppose to find Rosalie also.
"What was so important about Edward that you needed Carlisle to find him?"Zafrina asked.
"Edward's purpose in this was to get Jessica pregnant so that Laurent saw them hunting with the child. That was the only thing that would have made the kings leave the castle giving us the opportunity to kill them and the bulk of the guard loyal to them."Tanya explained.
"Actually now that you have both fulfilled your roles I think this would a good time to explain that Jessica is not really Edward's mate. She as a human was his singer."Isabella figured that telling them the truth was the right thing to do.
"That's not true!"Edward knew that Jessica was his mate.
"If Jessica and Edward weren't mated then Marcus wouldn't have confirmed it when they were before the kings."Carlisle took that as more than enough proof that the pair were mates.
"Marcus confirmed it because he and the other kings knew Edward was gay and just like the pair of them thought he was claiming a woman to put himself on the proper path."Isabella had heard them speaking about it as the kings didn't pay her any mind when she was around them.
"So many things make sense now."Kate could easily see Edward being gay.
"I'm not a homosexual!"Edward was outraged that Isabella would claim such a thing.
"Aro confirmed it after using his gift on you."Isabella told him.
"You shut your filthy mouth!"Edward made a move to attack Isabella but before he made it even a step Rosalie had him pinned to the ground with a hand around his throat.
"You do not attack my mate."Rosalie punched Edward in the face when he opened his mouth to reply.
"Does this mean we can finally kill him?"Anne asked.
"It is Jessica who has been wronged the most. Let her decide which one of us gets to kill him."Tanya searched herself for any guilt that should have come for her part in allowing Edward to claim a false mate but could find none. Not only did she not know anyone with eyes could see how much Jessica loved her daughter. Tanya doubted the newborn would trade Mason for anything.
"I want to kill him."Jessica was enraged with everything she had just found out. It made her feel foolish for being such a naive human who was easily swayed by a smooth talking, mysterious boy. Now looking at him all the disgust she had tried to suppress was unleashed. She put Mason on Jacob's back."Take her back to the reservation. She doesn't need to see this."
"Good call."Maggie may have hated Edward but didn't think it would be right for his child to see him die.
"Rosalie would you please hold him for me."Jessica needed Rosalie's help because she wasn't skilled enough to kill Edward on her own. Especially with his gift.
"Now wait just a minute. No one is killing Edward."Carlisle stepped forward to help Edward but was stopped by Zafrina and Liam grabbing his arms and holding him back."Let me go!"
"The girl is well within her rights to kill him."Zafrina approved of Jessica killing Edward. The boy had violated and manipulated the newborn and if Zafrina was in her place she would want the chance.
"No one has the right to kill him."Carlisle tried to break the hold they had on him but wasn't making any progress.
"Jessica I demand you tell them to let me go."Edward knew his mate wasn't going to kill him. She loved him to much.
Rosalie tightened her hold on Edward when he tried to get away from her."The more you struggle the more I'm going to hurt you."
"Unhand me right this instant or your punishment will be severe."Edward told her.
Kate laughed."You think you're in charge of how this is going to go?"
"Now that the kings are dead I am claiming the throne for myself."Edward was the logical choice for the next ruler."And as your king you are all going to be held responsible for not stopping Rosalie putting her hands on me."
"Are you seriously that delusional?"Tia didn't know how Edward could claim he was a king while he was being restrain to be killed.
"Guards!"Edward shouted.
It was not only Anne who laughed this time. Most of the other vampires with them did as well. Even Amun was smiling."You think the guard are going to help you?"
"The will obey their king!"Edward knew that the guard would give their lives to protect him.
"Is he insane?"Maggie asked.
"He must be if he thinks that he not only is going to get out of this alive but he is going to claim the crown for himself."Benjamin didn't know who the new rulers were going to be but it was not going to be Edward.
"Enough of this. Jessica kill him quickly please. My mates and I have things to do and need Edward dead before that happens."Isabella had centuries of time to make up with her mates and didn't want waste it dealing with Edward.
"With pleasure."Jessica walked up to Edward and put her hands on either side of his head. She ignored all the nonsense he started spewing, put her foot on his chest and twisted and pulled his head off. Dropping the head to the ground she smiled."I'm not a violent person but I really enjoyed that."
"I think in this case it was completely justified to enjoy it."Victoria said.
"What have you done?!"Carlisle cried out.
"How do you want to deal with him?"Siobhan asked.
"He will be the cause of his own downfall. We don't need to worry about him."Isabella told them.
"What do you mean by that?"Now that Irina knew that Isabella was the one who told Tanya everything she figured she could get information right from the source.
"I mean that if you leave him alive Carlisle will lose himself in his grief to the point that he will give up on his way of living and become a human drinking nomad who comes across a coven of vampires that he insults that torture him for weeks before they kill him."Isabella explained.
"Shit."Kate knew that Carlisle had an unnatural love for Edward but didn't think he would turn to human blood because of the loss.
"I say we leave him to that fate."After what he had planned for her Rosalie thought that the man deserved no less.
"I agree."Tanya was of the same thought as Rosalie. Carlisle deserved it for what he had planned for her mate. That and for the many years she had to put up with him.
"Me too."Irina said.
"We have no objections."Zafrina thought that was a perfect punishment for Carlisle for everything he allowed to happen while they had been at his home.
"We don't either."Siobhan was more than happy to let Carlisle die that way.
"We are willing to go with that."Amun and his coven had no love for Carlisle. He was actually happy with the idea of the man having such painful ending.
Tanya picked up Edward's body and head."Then we are agreed. Let me burn his body them let him go."
"Give me his pieces!"Carlisle demanded.
"That's not happening. Rose will you lead Isabella for me?"Tanya didn't want to be apart from her mates now that they had been reunited.
"I got her."Rosalie took Isabella's arm and led her towards the bonfire.
"What do you want us to do?"Irina asked.
"I would like to speak to Zafrina and Maggie before they leave. I have information on both of your mates."Isabella told them.
Maggie perked up hearing that."You know who my mate is?"
"I do however there are a few things that need to be taken care of before I will have time to discuss it with either of you."Isabella said.
"We understand."Zafrina wanted to know the information right away but wouldn't make demands. She didn't want Isabella to get angry and not tell them. She had always been the odd man out as her sisters were mated to each other and the prospect of meeting hers soon was exciting.
"I'll check in with you guys in a little while."Tanya told her coven.
"Good because we have a lot of questions still."Anne could think of two dozen right off the top of her head.
"Come on I want to speak to my mothers."Isabella wanted a chance to debrief everyone so they could begin the next part of the plan.
"I'm sure they would like to speak to you as well."Tanya figured that Isabella's mothers were only keeping themselves back because they needed to explain to their family and the others what was going on. Like Tanya and Rosalie they were more than likely going to be wanting to spent as much time with Isabella as they could. Luckily the pair were newly mated so that would give Tanya the chance to have time alone with her mates. They had a bond to complete. Something that Tanya was forcing herself not to do right then. She wanted nothing more than to throw Isabella on the ground and ravish her and leave her mark on Isabella's neck for the all the world to see. Then she wanted Isabella to bite her so she could proudly bare the mark of her love. That would have to wait though. First they needed to check in with their allies and make sure everyone else succeeded in their missions to kill off the vampires loyal to the kings that weren't in the clearing with them. Then they needed to organize everyone and begin setting up the new regime. That being something they needed to include the rest of the Denali when discussing because it directly involved them. Thinking of her family Tanya smiled. She was happy that they hadn't been angry at Tanya for keeping Isabella a secret. Even if they hadn't really had a chance to think it over Tanya was positive based on the fact that they hadn't reacted negatively that everything would be fine. Just like Isabella had promised.
