The next day, Scanty and Kneesocks took up human forms to blend in. Scanty had pale skin and wore a tan sweatshirt and a red skirt. She also had brown Mary Jays on her feet. Her green hair looked neater, and a bit shorter. Kneesocks also had a tan sweatshirt on but with a brown vest over it. Unlike her sister, she wore blue shorts and normal over-the-kneesocks. She also had brown and white sneakers on.
"Augh, how do humans walk around like this?" Scanty groans.
"Deal with it, sister. We can change back at our...augh... vacation home." Kneesocks said.
"And you think they will take in a couple of girls like us?" Scanty asked.
"If this town is anything like Daten City, then a group of girls like us should have no problem getting a job," Kneesocks said.
However, they had a bit of trouble finding one. The mall was full and they weren't old enough to join any of Earth's everyday jobs. There was one other place they decided to check out, and the name of it left the two very confused.
"The Nasty Burger?" Scanty asked.
"Don't look at me," Kneesocks said.
They entered the restaurant and saw that it was a teenage hang-out. Many didn't even bother with them. They walked up to the counter and saw a dark-skinned girl wearing a uniform
"Welcome to the Nasty Burger. Can I get your order?" She asked, bored.
The two looked at each other before Kneesocks cleared her throat.
"My name is Kelly and this is my sister, Shelly. We're looking for a job." Kneesocks said.
"You want to work here?" The girl asked.
"We tried everywhere else. Either, they're full, or we're too young." Scanty said, crossing her arms.
"How old are you?" The girl asked.
"16," Kneesocks said, knowing they couldn't tell their real age.
"Huh, I'll get my boss. There's a table over there if you want to sit." The girl said, pointing at an empty table.
"Thanks," Kneesocks said, walking over to the table.
"Are we really going to work here?" Scanty asked.
"This is the last place we can go to. Remember, we're not here to be daemons." Kneesocks said.
"Look, we have running all over town, trying to get hired. And that one asshole deserves a bullet to his face! Spanking my ass like that!" Scanty said, growling.
Kneesocks sighed. She really wishes that Scanty would keep a lid on her temper. Yeah, she was upset with how some of the people treated her but knew better than to pick a fight. As they waited, Kneesocks spotted three teenagers walking in. The first boy was dark-skinned like the girl, and the girl was dressed like a goth, but much different than Stocking. Finally, her eyes landed on the other boy.
He had raven black hair and blue eyes. He wore a white T-shirt with a red oval and blue jeans. He even had red and white sneakers on. She watches him walk up to the counter, saying hi to the dark-skinned girl before making his order. Her eyes followed him until they reached a table.
"Sister! SISTER!"
Kneesocks snapped out of her trance and saw Scanty was calling for her.
"Yes?" She said, pretending to act like she was listening.
Scanty raises an eyebrow before turning to the manager.
"Sorry about that. She gets lost in thoughts sometimes." She said, sighing.
"So you both want to work here?" The manager asked.
"Yes, we tried everywhere else. Full or too young." Kneesocks told him.
"Well, luckily for you, I have a spot open. How good at you at cleaning dishes?" He asked them.
Scanty and Kneesocks looked at each other. Not what they thought was going to happen, but they agreed it was a start.
"We won't brag," Kneesocks said.
"Very well. You will start in three days. Come here after school." The Manager said.
"That was way too easy," Scanty said after the manager left.
"I know. Plus, we did sigh ourselves into...Casper High, I believe it was called." Kneesocks said.
"Can we go as ourselves?" Scanty asked.
"No. We need to see what this school is like first. And, for once, we don't have to worry about some troublemakers getting in our way." Kneesocks said.
"What about that ghost?" Scanty asked.
"The one the town is blaming the attacks on?" Kneesocks said, thinking.
"We'll cross that bridge later." She said before looking back at the table.
She spotted the boy again, sighing at the other two people, fighting over their food. Scanty looked as well, seeing the group that her sister was looking at.
"Is there something about them?" She asked.
"Not sure. That girl is dressed like a goth, but she's different from Stocking." Kneesocks said, thinking.
"And that dark-skinned boy reminds me of that one boy that hangs around those angels," Scanty said.
"But that other boy. There's something different about him." Kneesocks said, looking at him.
"What do you mean?" Scanty asked.
"No idea. We might have to introduce ourselves." Kneesocks said, making Scanty nod.
They stood up and walked over to the three, hearing the argument as they got closer.
"PLANTS!"
"MEATS!"
The other boy sighs before noticing the two girls.
"Um, hi?" He said, surprised.
"Hello, forgive us, but what's going on?" Kneesocks asked.
"Just Sam and Tucker fighting over which food is better," The boy said, sighing.
"I'm Danny, by the way." He added.
"I'm Shelly and this is my little sister, Kelly," Scanty said.
"Twins?" Danny asked them.
"Some would think that," Kneesocks said, seeing the other two still fighting.
"Would you like to come sit with us?" She asked, thinking he could use a break.
"Um, thanks, but they will stop soon. I hope." Danny said, looking unsure.
"How long do they go?" Scanty asked.
"Hours. Unless something causes them to stop." Danny said.
"Whoa!"
Sure enough, when Tucker turned away he spotted Scanty and Kneesocks. Danny sighed, knowing what he was about to do.
"Hey there, what brings you beautiful angels to town?" Tucker asked, making Danny roll his eyes.
"First off, DON'T ever call us angels again!" Scanty yelled, slamming her hand on the table.
Tucker flinched back as Kneesocks rolled her eyes.
"Second, We just moved here and got a job," Kneesocks added.
"And third?" Danny asked.
"What makes you think there's a third?" Scanty asked.
"There's always a third." The three said.
'Huh, they're a lot smarter than I thought.' Kneesock thought.
"Alright, third, we have been partly cut off." She said, surprising them.
"What?" Sam asked.
"We might not look like it, but we're rich. However, our latest event caused our last boss to cut us off. He left us with some money, but it would be a matter of time before we run out." Kneesocks explained.
"So, we spent the whole day trying to find a job. This was the last place we could find." Scanty said.
"Sorry to hear that you got cut off," Danny said, feeling bad for them.
"Honestly, he was a jerk. We did everything for him and he repays us by cutting us out." Scanty said.
"So, what now?" Sam asked, feeling a bit sorry for them as well.
"Well, once we get our job and make up enough money, we're going to make some changes in our lives," Kneesocks said.
"Like?" Tucker asked.
"None of your business, shithead," Scanty said.
"Sister, reel back on the swearing. He was only asking." Kneesocks said, seeing how shocked the three were.
"Our old town didn't care much about swearing. So, forgive us if we pop up a curse word every now and then." She told them.
"Okay?" Danny said, looking at his friends.
"But my sister raised a point. As of now, you have no reason to know what we have planned." Kneesocks said.
"Well, how well do you think you can handle the ghosts?" Sam asked, making the two look at her.
"What, you think some weak ghost is going to scare us?" Scanty asked.
"Please, we're not some girls that would scream at the sight of a ghost," Kneesocks added, pushing up her glasses.
Danny was surprised. They weren't scared? Kneesocks looked at Danny, finding him different them most others. She didn't know why, but there was something she could shake about him. And she wanted to know why.
And done, for now. So, I finally gave Scanty and Kneesocks a human look. I got them from Deviantart-Scanty and Kneesocks - Humans/ Angels. By lupitamota.
So, Scanty and Kneesocks had a bit of trouble finding a job, due to being either full or them being too young. Luckily, they got a job at the Nasty Burger and they even met Danny and his friends. However, Kneesocks finds herself drawn to Danny for some reason and she doesn't know why. So it will be some time before they get together.
Now, Scanty and Kneesocks will meet the rest of the cast once they go to Casper High. Also, I decided that as far as Danny Phantom goes, it was before Pariah Dark was freed. So, I might end up rewriting that episode down the line.
