Chapter 17: Class Hangout!
Previously, the exams took place and the results came out.
"We did it!"
"All of Class 1-A passed!"
"Outstanding! Stupendous!"
"Christmas Break is secured!"
"Aw yeah! We rock!"
Everyone was relieved and in seventh heaven over the results as they cheered with one another. Sensei Tatsu let them be until they settled down. "Honestly I did not expect the results to be like this. But great work everyone. None of you failed a subject and thus, I can only say that all of you have secured your winter break."
Everyone cheered some more as, "Now those of you who wish to travel abroad during the winter break, send me your details on how long you'll be away and whatever you do outside, behave yourself. That's a reminder." Sensei Tatsu briefed the class. "Also, all of you by now should have received your credits from the exam results."
Everyone whipped out their phones to scan their IDs on the app. Soon enough, "The whole class gets 4000 credits each! Awesome!" Colette cheered as everyone talked about it excitedly.
"Well if nothing else, I shall be on my way. For today, it's just to check your exam results. You have the rest of the day for yourselves." Sensei Tatsu ended class early as he took his leave.
"Woo-hoo! No school today!" Declan cheered.
"This calls for a class celebration!" Kolton declared as many cheered in agreement.
"Kap! Emma! Do you have any plans for the whole class?" Lucia asked.
"Yeah! You're the class reps so what do you have in store for us today?" Yamikage asked.
Both Kappei and Emma looked at each other for a moment and then, they smiled over an idea.
At Malishido Megamall...
The whole class is at Ninja Lanes and Pockets. A place for bowling and billiards as at the alley, half the class is at the bowling alley and the other half is at the billiards areas.
In the alley, Kappei had a bowling ball in his hands as he eyed at the pins. Once ready, he rolled the ball.
"Ha! Ha! Ha! You missed!" Davis roared with laughter as the result is a gutterball. "Now let me show you how a pro does it!"
"You're gonna lose." said Kappei as Davis took aim and rolled. However, "You kidding me?!"
"I knew it! ha! You suck!" Kappei laughed at Davis and the 2 boys began bickering with each other with words. "My turn!" Emma took a bowling ball and looked at the lane. Her hearing took effect and she got ready. At the right timing, she sent the ball rolling. "KLONG! KLONG! KLONG!"
"Wow! You got a strike!" Midori cheered as she gave Emma a hi-5 with Gumchi cheering for her.
"Did you use your hearing to get info on how to play the sport?" Miyumi asked.
"Sort of." Emma replied as the girls laughed together and already, Kappei and Davis are wrestling each other on the ground until Bull and Slick went over to their lane and separated them.
After that, Jeong rolled and got a 6 followed by a spare. Bull went next and hit 7 pins followed by a spare. Slick got a strike and Anais missed twice and she felt embarrassed.
"It's okay. There's a first time for everything such as this. And we're here to have fun." Slick told her. "Thanks." She replied as Jeong went next.
Now 4 lanes were rented out as Kappei, Davis and Emma share one. Miyumi, Midori, Dedrick and Lucia share another and Kurt, Avitus, Cruz and Archie share the last lane as the teens bowled with fun and laughter. All their scores are mixed with strikes, spares, misses and other number scores.
Meanwhile at the billiards area, "Steady...steady..." Marcel took aim and, "THOK!"
All the balls split apart rolling around the table. "Oops. None of them pocketed." Nichelle noticed as Shane went next. "I bet I can pocket 3 balls in one shot."
"Fat chance." said Marcel as Shane studied the table a bit and then, got ready. "THOK!"
"CLAK! CLAK! CLAK!"
"You got to be kidding me!" Marcel exclaimed as a chain reaction took place which resulted in the pocketing of the 3 billiard balls. "Nice shot!" Colette hi-5 Shane as she went next. After pocketing 2 balls, she missed the next one and Nichelle took her turn.
On another pool table, Yamikage demonstrated a one shot, all in trick as he took aim and shot the cue ball with enough power to send all the 15 billiard balls ricocheting around the table until all are pocketed. This left Harry, Joey and Vega stunned. "I've played pool for more than 5 years." He told them and they still remain stunned. At another table, Maeve is trying it out for the first time with Chantelle teaching her and Declan taking his turn with Kolton watching him. At another one, Ting Ting, Hank and Mikelus are having fun shooting the balls around together instead of pocketing unless one went inside.
A while later...
"Hey guys! Our class rep ordered lunch for the class!" Anais called out to those playing billiards.
Seconds later, all are gathered together as on the table, there are 5 large pizzas, 3 buckets of fried chicken, 2 plastic containers containing fries, a box of chicken nuggets with 50 pieces inside, 2 large, plastic containers full of mashed potatoes and potato salad respectively and seven 1.5 litres of soda. There are also plastic plates, cups and utensils.
"Dig in!" Kappei and Emma told the class as they gathered around together and feasted. "Pepperoni, cheese, Hawaiian, BBQ chicken and veggie delight! This is awesome!" Anais cheered as she took a cheese pizza and bit into it. Kappei took 5 pieces of fried chicken and a handful of fries and started chowing down while Emma helped herself to some chicken nuggets and 2 slices of pizza with the flavours, Hawaiian and veggie delight.
"Mmmm! This potato salad is luscious!" Colette exclaimed as Marcel helped himself to some of it along with some mashed potatoes and Gumchi polished off a full bucket of fried chicken and chugged down a bottle of soda.
Speaking of which, Cruz is seen pouring soda into some of the plastic cups of Harry, Bull, Declan and Kolton and after pouring one for himself, "CHEERS!"
However, "SPLISH!"
"Damnit! We toasted so hard, all the soda flew out of our cups and stained the floor! Wasted man!" Declan exclaimed.
"Ah never mind. We still have plenty of soda." said Kolton as he took the same bottle Cruz used and a friendy cleaner cleaned up the spillage leaving no stain on the floor. After a quick refill, they had a toast and this time, no spillage.
And then, "Alright Joey. Let's see who can chug down this 1.5 bottle of soda first!"
"You're on Harry! Miyumi, begin the timing!"
"3, 2, 1. Chug them!" She initiated the countdown as Harry and Joey started chugging the bottles of soda. Joey is chugging down orange soda while Harry is chugging down Pepsi.
Archie, Maeve, Cruz, Midori, Yamikage, Chantelle and Emma cheered for the boys as the chugging goes on. "They're halfway through!" Cruz exclaimed as Harry and Joey kept chugging. Midori kept track of the time via her phone as, "20 seconds left!"
The 2 chugged faster when Harry paused and let out a loud burp. "Okay that was sort of gross..." Chantelle thought and, "Joey's the winner!" Midori announced as he raised the empty soda bottle and let out a loud burp at Archie and Cruz resulting in them fainting. "Sorry." He apologized sheepishly. The whole class then continued having their lunch and then, dessert time as Gumchi brought out 3 boxes containing a dozen doughnuts each arrived as everyone cheered and ate the dessert with more soda to drink up. Good thing dessert was ordered early and put aside first until now.
"Nice! Chocolate, powdered sugar and pink frost with sprinkles on it!" Hank exclaimed as he took 2 doughnuts and bit into them as the rest bonded some more. After that, bowling and billiards activity resumes for the next hour and after the fun time, everyone left the place with some returning to the school to rest while others remain here to hang around some more and visit the shops and the other entertainment areas.
That night...
"So you bought the plane tickets already?" Kappei asked.
"Yup! We'll all set for Eagle City so that we can see the little ones and pay the academy a visit if we got the chance." said Emma. "Our flight is on December 22 in the morning and on our return flight to California, it's on December 31 in the afternoon. Good thing there's a discount and you can use the credits to book the flights.
"By now, my grampa should have settled in as well." said Kappei. "And you told our teacher about it did you?"
"Of course." She replied.
"Anything else?" He asked.
"3 days before we take our flight, we do the Christmas shopping." Emma revealed.
"Oh yeah. That list you got. It'll put a smile on all the children once they received the gifts on that holiday." said Kappei. "When we reach Eagle City, we'll stay at the house my grampa's in. He also sent me the address so that we can find it easy as pie. Written it down on paper."
"Great! All that's left is to pack up for the holiday but there's still plenty of time." said Emma as she switched on her computer. "Movie night?"
"Sure! But what to watch?" Kappei asked.
"Choo-see! Choo-see!" Gumchi spoke up.
"Ah! Gumchi will choose the movie for us." Kappei stated as he went to surf the internet and a while later, Gumchi looked at the list and clicked on a link.
"This might turn out good." said Emma as they watched it together.
A while later...
"Okay...it was a good movie..." said Emma.
"Y-Yeah...but why are we feeling awkward?..." Kappei asked.
And then, they noticed something. They're holding hands. They looked at each other and sheepishly let go.
"S-Sorry..." Kappei apologized.
"N-No. I'm suppose to apologize..." said Emma.
Gumchi looked confused and was expecting something between them. For the movie he chose was a romance movie and yet, they can't shake the feeling off as, "Oh look at the time. Gumchi, let's head back." Kappei grabbed Gumchi before he could say or protest and left Emma's dorm room. "Why do I get this feeling whenever I'm with Emma?" He thought to himself as he hurried his way.
And back to her, "Why do I get this feeling that bring me even closer to him?" Emma thought to herself. "So frustrating! If I don't do something, he'll fall for that Student Council President even more!"
She ended up taking a shower, brushing her teeth, changing to her nightgown and going to bed early. With everything in the school term settled, winter break is on.
The next 3 chapters is the winter break. First will the shopping followed by the Christmas fun and relaxation. It's gonna be epic and I can't wait to get started on those chapters!
By the time these chapters are finished, I should be in the halfway point for the First Year Arc. Progress sure is smooth and I better keep it that way. Alright, see you in the next chapter!
