AN: the next chapter
The introduction arc is about halfway done. By now, the games are done with the story, and many people will be more interested in what happens on Pokemon Day. Even if Scarlet and Violet are forgotten, I will try to write this story to the end.

Pokemon are not mine.

Mesagoza was a city characterized by hills and stairs. The metropolis was made up of them. Cecilia usually enjoyed exploring the outdoors but felt drained by looking at the city. "This is why I chose to take the taxi; you can feel that you exist just by looking around," Cecilia said, gazing at the enormous staircase.

'You will have to get used to it from now on, ' Agravain said. He gestured towards his Poké Ball and added, ' It's a good idea for me to stay in my Poké Ball. I need to get used to being in it for long periods .' Cecilia nodded and recalled her mythical Pokemon.

"We finally made it to Mesagoza," Nemona cheered despite being out of breath." Not only is it the most prominent city in all of Paldea, but it was also a trading hub in the past."

"Anyone coming here will get both facts just by looking or asking around." Cecilia was annoyed and extremely hungry. "It is a place where people gather to learn about anything new from technology to fashion."

"Yup, there are hair salons and food joints." Nemona continued, seemingly oblivious to Cecilia's anger. "There is still some time before school starts, so do you want to hit a place or two before."

"A clothing store for a headband in scarlet or violet," Cecilia said, letting Nemona's single-mindedness go for now. "I like wearing them; a family trait, apparently," she explained at Nemona's curious glance.

"Do all Kalosians like Clothes and fashion?"

"If one is from one of the bigger cities like Lumiose, you will find those who are fashion-conscious. Never really was like that." Cecilia liked comfortable clothes more than ones with patterns but would be okay with wearing them if they presented themselves. That's why she chose the second pair of uniforms. "Now, I want to find some food. I gave half of my sandwich to Koraidon."

Nemona grinned as she said, "Food is essential for battle because one can't fight on an empty stomach." However, she missed Cecilia's exasperated look. "Speaking of battling, I need to do some things to get you a tera orb."

"You don't have to do that. I can look into getting on for myself." Cecilia said, but stopped talking, knowing that Nemona would still do that even if she did the same thing.

"If you need items for your Pokemon, I recommend the Deildbird presents," Nemona said, unaware that Cecilia did not want people to do things for her without asking first. After shopping, let's meet in front of the school. Make sure to rest before climbing those stairs." Nemona then jogged off to get a tera orb from the school storage.

Cecilia sighed ' Welcome to my life ' before heading to a nearby clothing store. She asked an assistant for scarlet, violet, or multicolored cloth there. Luckily, the store had some in stock, and Cecilia purchased a teal-colored one for when not in school. Afterward, she found a food stall selling oran berry muffins and ate them while admiring the nearby staircase.

'A journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step,' was a quote from the eastern regions Cecilia's grandfather shared with her before she decided to leave for Paldea. With determination, she started climbing the stairs. On the first landing, she felt two irritated individuals but noticed a group of three people standing nearby.

Two students wore the school uniform; one wore violet shorts (female), and the other wore scarlet pants (male). Both students had helmets with star-shaped goggles.

To Cecilia, the third person's aura didn't appear to be male or female. They wore gray pajama pants with dots of color, a sweatshirt with a Pokeball, and shorts underneath. The Gigantamax Eevee bag they carried took a lot of work to miss.

"Come on, joining Team Star will make you shine brighter than anyone else." the female said.

The non-uniform person didn't answer, but their annoyance turned slowly into anger.

"Don't you want some awesome bright burning friend like us?" the male asked.

"Not really." the Eevee backpacker muttered.

"We have a quota we need to fill, so sign up already." The female growled.

"I'd rather not." Eevee backpacker shook their head.

Cecilia let out a sigh. Over three years ago, she wouldn't have interfered. But now, Cecilia stepped in between the group and turned to the two members of Team Star. "They said no, so back off."

"What do you want? "the male asked. "Don't tell me you want to join too; we'll get to you next."

"Why would I join people who try to force others even after they refuse?" Cecilia snarled, sounding like Agravain.

"We're Team Star, those who it hurts to look at because we burn so bright." The female member said smugly. "But you know that right."

"Honestly, this is the first time I've heard of you; you must have been formed within the last year," Cecilia admitted.

"An ignorant nobody; we have been around for nearly two years." The female member snarled but sounded threatening at a Pichu. "Even apart as Team Star, I get no respect."

"Respect is something that is earned, and I have heard of teams that have been around for generations, so I'm sorry to say that your team doesn't seem that impressive to me," Cecilia replied. "If you don't mind, we must excuse ourselves now." With that, she turned to take the younger person behind her.

"We must not let this pass," said the male team member. "Our team's honor is at stake, so we must fight according to the rules."

"Yeah, keep four eyes in your sight," the other said as she pulled out a Pokeball. "While I make the newbie see the stars." she then sent out her Pokemon. It was a small, manly black body with a purple tongue and big green eyes.

"Are you seriously going to challenge someone to a battle just because we disagreed?" Cecilia growled, her voice sounding like that of a Zarude. "Is it only because your code instructed you to do so? Okay, but don't blame anyone else when you lose." Cecilia sent out Olwin.

"Shroodle, use scratch." Without hesitation, the now-named Shroodle charged forward to attack.

"Not on my watch, Olwin. Feuille Magik," Cecilia said in a different language. She knew that speaking another language for Pokemon moves would catch others off guard if they couldn't understand it. Olwin was now more accustomed to the other language. Letting loose, the leaves forced the Shroodle back and behind its trainer." It looks like your Pokemon fled on its own, making me the winner."

"Why did you run Shroodle?" The tiny Pokemon's trainer moaned. "Why is this no one so good battling? It's so not fair."

"What is unfair is a two-on-one, so leave before I get a teacher. "Cecilia snapped, planning to send her bird Pokemon to Clavell if things got more out of hand.

"Wait, she beat you." the male yelped. "And as the higher-ranked member. I have to battle now."

' It's unbelievable; they continue to fight despite my inevitable victory. Do these brats adhere to their code? ' Cecilia was flabbergasted.

Nemona appeared, looking displeased, as she asked, "What do you think you're doing?"

"Great, the student council, dweeb." Cecilia's opponent muttered.

"And if we don't book it, she'll report us." her companion also muttered.

"Why are you fighting Cecilia? " Nemona scolded, missing how pissed off the older girl was. "Those Randos won't give you a good fight, unlike me."

Cecilia's eyes twitched hard. "Out of EVERYONE on this planet, YOU need aura powers the most, Nemona Máchi. I tried to talk them into leaving, but the brat pulled out a Pokeball." she said with a tone full of frustration, "I was just about to go find a teacher or maybe even the director. I was even considering using my bird to do it." Nemona looked at the ground as she listened to Cecilia's rant.

"Sorry, I read that wrong," Nemona mumbled. She then looked over to the two team star members. "Team Star, I should have known. I bet you have been pressuring others into joining, right?"

"Hola, eh, no, we weren't. " the male stammered, trying to sound innocent.

"Never mind. It is normally my job to deal with people like you, but" Nemona said as she pulled out a tera orb and placed it in Cecilia's hand. This is an excellent opportunity to try out this gift."

"Thanks, but I rarely rely on battle gimmicks," Cecilia explained as she pushed the orb back.

Nemona returned the orb to Cecilia, saying, "Take it; it's a gift. You never know when you might need to terastallize your Pokemon." She added, "Olwin is a grass type; therefore, it should be a grass tera type unless the director has recently changed it."

"Is this for grass types only? Because it might not work if Owin is a different type, plus how does one change a tera type?" Cecilia couldn't understand why she should get an item that only benefits grass types when one of her Pokemon might not be of that type. Additionally, she was curious about how to change a tera-type, as it might be challenging.

"The tera orb works for all types, and the Pokemon determines it," answered the student from behind Cecilia. "I think you can get it done at a place in Madali."

"Thanks. Next, does this break after it is used?" Cecilia was blinded when Nemona used hers, so what happened to it afterward was a mystery.

"No, it's like a Pokeball; it comes back after you throw it," Nemona said, pulling out her own. "You saw how I used it."

"I did but didn't get it," Cecilia admitted. "you two will stay here," she said to the two team star members who had tried to sneak away only to freeze.

"Normally, you take a class on terastallization and everything about it," Nemona explained, secretly annoyed that Cecilia had caught the two before her. "I pulled some strings for you to get it, and using it in battle might help to understand better than any explanation." Nemona then jogged away and stopped, clearly saying she would be the referee for the next battle.

"Wait, you're using me as a test dummy?" the male yelped.

Nemona smiled, revealing more teeth than usual. "Shall I demonstrate instead?"

"No, the new student is fine." the speed at which the team star member changed his mind was as fast as a quick attack.

"This will be a one-on-one battle. "Nemona called out. "the standard ten seconds on the ground will work."

Both trainers nodded in agreement. However, the team's star member seemed a bit displeased.

"Send out your Pokemon," Nemona called.

"Go, Yangoos." The small mammal was long-bodied with brown and yellow fur, round ears, a pink nose, and pointed teeth.

"Olwin, let's get this over with," said Cecilia as she pointed to the space before her. Her cat trotted out, ready to battle; she hadn't recalled Olwin in the first place. "Alright, let's see what this terastallization is all about," Cecilia said as she held up the orb and pushed the button. Once it was lit up enough, Cecilia chucked the sphere at Olwin. The crystal rose and encased the Pokemon. It might need some getting used to, but the effect afterward would always be the best part. Olwin emerged with her skin having a crystal-like texture and flowers on her head.

"Knew it to be a grass type." Nemona grinned.

"Yungoos use a bite." The small rodent ran forward and bit Olwin, but it didn't look more effective than usual.

"You wouldn't happen to know Sprigatito's first grass-type move in Paldean?" Cecilia asked the person next to her. "I only know it in Kalosian."

"Oh hum, It's leafage." the student said.

"Thanks, Olwin; use Leafage." Cecilia felt happy to call out the move in Paldean. Leaves swirled around, hitting the Yungoos, causing more damage than more, and getting the other Pokemon off. "Not done yet," Cecilia muttered.

"Try Payback." the team star member yelped. Dark energy swirled around Yungoos before slamming into Olwin, chipping some crystal from the cat's skin, but it didn't completely break.

Cecilia sighed in relief, ' Thank Arceus,' "Now scratch even if it won't do much." Running despite what could be a lot of weight on its head, Olwin reached Yungoos, scratching the other Pokemon until it fell to the ground and stopped moving.

"Yungoos cannot battle. Olwin and Cecilia are the winners," Nemona called.

"That was interesting." As Olwin returned to normal, Cecilia said, "I wonder what Agravain is."

"Well, Hasta la vistar, we'll be going." Cecilia's opponent said, then bolted

"Yeah, same bye." the other team star said, following.

As Nemona jogged over, she exclaimed, "That was amazing! Are you sure you haven't used terastallization before?"

"Positive."

"Many Pokemon don't have the same type as their tera type. "Nemona explained, "You never know what you get, and you can charge your tera orb at Pokemon centers while your Pokemon heal."

"And what do you know about Team Star?" Cecilia asked, looking in their direction after they had left.

"They're a group of trouble-making students." Nemona explained, "Not only do they not attend school, but they're also headaches in large numbers."

"No one has done anything about them," Cecilia was surprised that no one had stepped up to stop them from causing trouble.

"Not even the teachers can stop them, "Nemona nodded.

"Um, excuse me?" The student with the Eevee bag spoke up." Well, thanks. See you around." then they left, going up the remainder of the stairs. Cecilia noted their Galarian accent.

"First day and already becoming a hero," Nemona said. Cecilia snorted and rolled her eyes. "Though I haven't seen that girl before, a new student like you?"

"Probably," Cecilia said ' though coincidental if so. '

"That Eevee bag is so fluffy," Nemona said with a girlish squeal. Now that things have calmed down let's get to school." With that, the two girls finished the walk up to the school.

AN: Team Star and the main cast of the main story have been introduced.

There will be some late game, DLC spoilers, and headcanons/theories from here and out. Only a little, but some will be around. We arrived at the school; I started the school lesson chapters when, like in the games, we began the treasure hunt. They will randomly be posted in their own story. They will help explain how the world works in this story. History class, especially. Most of the first ones are set before the hunt begins. The rest after that will be after I'm not going to do the midterms and finals, but they will be reverence.
