Chapter one- two years later

Tyro, a PyrWing, sat in a clearing watching a makeshift nest where eight eggs lay. They were the only eggs to hatch on the brightest night. One was white with rainbow dots, this was the RainbowWing egg. The navy blue with white dots all over was the MoonWing egg. There was also a bright baby yellow with white smudges, this was the SunWing egg. The TepuiWing egg was a deep purple which faded to a deep dark pink color. The WeedWing egg had multiple different shades of green, with brown smudges here and there. The PyrWing egg was like a mess of rainbow feathers that were shaped into an egg. The GoldWing egg was a shimmering gold color with darker yellow smudges, and the SilverWing egg was a bright silver color with light gray smudges.

The eggs were left out in the moonlight so they could get any possible thrice-moon-born powers. The MoonWing egg hatched first. A black dragonet with white scales dotted on its wings and back popped out of the egg. It had a white moon-shaped birthmark on its forehead. "The MoonWing, it's hatched!" A dragon said from behind Tyro. He turned to see Duncan, the overly cheerful GoldWing, coming into the clearing. "I'm gonna name her Moonlight." Duncan said. Tyro nodded thoughtfully and picked up the little MoonWing, who curled around his neck like a scarf. "I think it fits her, '' he said. The next to hatch was the PyrWing, who was a white color with deep blue freckles on his snout, and had the rare six wing appendages on his head versus Tyro's four.

The PyrWing dragonet hopped, squeaking, to Tyro. "Squrble? Wormblem." it said, then curled up into a little ball under Tyro's wing. "I'm going to call him Wind Wisher." Tyro said, wrapping his wing around the tiny warm body. "Did someone say the eggs were hatching?" Night Watcher came into the room, her wings sparkled with her silver scales in the moonlight. "Yes, so far we've got the MoonWing, Moonlight, and the PyrWing, Wind Wisher." Just as Duncan said that, the GoldWing egg toppled over, and an orange-ish dragonet crawled out. "I'm naming this one!" Duncan said. '"What? No! I'M naming it, since YOU just went ahead and named MY dragonet whatever YOU wanted." Duncan shied away, trying to avoid conflict, but she still said "But, the GoldWing egg is mine, I wanted to name her." Night Watcher puffed out some purple smoke, and Duncan snapped her mouth shut before saying anything else. "Sunny, the GoldWing's name is Sunny, like the Sunny from the War of SandWIng succession." Night Watcher said, turning away from Duncan, who was cowering in her shadow.

By this time, all the other eggs had cracks in them. "Ahem, STORM! SUNFIRE! SNOW! WILLOW! WAVE! GET IN HERE BEFORE YOUR EGGS HATCH AND SOMEONE ELSE NAMES THEM FOR YOU!" Night Watcher screeched. Snow, the RainbowWing, was the first in. Her egg hatched as she entered. "Awww, he's adorable! My little Tompa." All the dragons just stared at her. "What did you just say?" Tyro asked, staring at her like she was a wolf speaking dragon to him. "Tompa, it's the name me and Jombo were talking about before I ran away with the only RainbowWing egg hatching tonight. MY egg. We were all lucky to be the only ones with eggs to hatch tonight. Us, already friends, knowing each other already, our eggs not stolen by strangers, like the dragonets from the War of SandWing succession." Snow said, picking up her dragonet and snuggling with him.

All of a sudden, the vines hanging above them started moving. It looked like they were growing faster than normal. They surrounded the remaining eggs as Storm, Sunfire, Wave, and Willow walked in. They all gaped in awe when they turned into fire and then to ash. Standing before them were the remaining dragonets. The WeedWing had a leaf-like tail fin, a pale green frill along her spine, and was a brilliant shade of forest green with brown and gold underscales. The SilverWing was a beautiful shade of silver, which reflected the moonlight, giving him an almost spirit-like appearance. The SunWing had a black sun-shaped mark on her forehead, bright yellow eyes that looked like two mini suns, and sparkling yellow and gold scales. The TepuiWing was a deep shade of blue, with lighter blue freckles on her snout, her eyes were a dark hot pink color. She also had dark pink tiger stripes along her back and legs.

Storm came up to his SilverWing dragonet. "You will be the best SilverWing to ever exist. You will be called Grayling, like that one SilkWing long ago." He said, picking up the dragonet. Sunfire looked like she was ready to explode. "Sunshine, her name is Sunshine!" Sunfire opened her wings, and Sunshine came running to Sunfire. Sunshine's eyes were wide with excitement. She held up her tiny talons, but when she did so, they burst into flames. Sunfire screeched with terror and started calling for water. Sunshine just looked at her talons in awe. Wave splashed a bucket of water on her. "Worlemble, squrble burble!" Sunshine said disapprovingly.

Wave looked at his dragonet. "You. I'm calling you Wish, because you are a wish come true." Wave said, looking like he had just seen his favorite dragon die in front of him. None of his past eggs had survived, they all either came out cracked, or the egg was brutally smashed by another dragon because of something he did. "Well isn't that just sweet. My dragonet is going to be called Forest." Willow said. Just as he said that, Forest had vines around her arms. "Blub purburt." She said to the vines. The vines slowly crept off her arms and she came to Willow, where she dug her claws into the ground and a flower grew out of nowhere. "What?! But, that wasn't! Did she just? But! Plantspeak? I don't get it!" Willow sputtered in confusion.

All the guardians dismissed the strange events that had happened and took the dragonets with them to go to sleep. But Tyro couldn't sleep, he kept thinking about the strange events and the three full moons. He believed that the moons held some sort of strange magic, and that when they were all full, it gave the dragonets hatched under it special powers related to their tribe. Maybe that was why Sunshine had fire randomly on her talons. Maybe that was why Forest had magically grown that flower. But the other question was, did the other dragonets gain powers as well? But these were questions to be answered at a later date and time. Tyro stayed up for around an hour before he finally fell into a fitful sleep. The next day was just about as bad as his sleep. More strange things happened, like more fire from Sunshine and more random plants from Forest. Things like random flowers where Tompa walked, or the fact that Wind Wisher was randomly super fast at times also kept happening. Things just got crazier, but better as the dragonets gained more control of their growing powers.
