AN: Hello there everybody! Yes, I know it's been a while, but I've been busy, as usual LMAO. Well I don't have much to say so here's the second chapter of the two I'm posting on the same day.
Hope you all enjoy reading!
| Last Time - January 20, 2003
| At Sea
Anything to indicate that his father was here. Maybe a messenger in the form of a fish coming to inform him that Poseidon had heard his pleas or maybe he'd just appear out of thin air in front of him.
But nothing.
All he could see was the ever moving sea that he was surrounded by, its waves rocking the boat. All he could hear was the splashing of the currently calm seas.
But other than that? Nothing. Just nothing.
He was there, standing on a boat with the wind blowing on his face reminding him of how alone he really was.
Chapter 3
| January 23, 2003 - Present Time
| At Sea
"Hey! HEY! Stay with me…okay? Stay with me…just breathe, I'll…I'll find something-"
"Percy…"
"No no no no, don't look at me like that, Wise Girl, don't-."
"Percy…it's…it's okay…"
"N-no it's not. Please….Just, don't leave me…please"
"Seaweed brain…"
"NO!" Percy woke up with a jolt, his body shooting upwards.
Once he came to, he looked around, panting as he was met with the familiar sight of the sea which, once he woke up, had already begun making its effects of being in its presence known to him as he started calming down quickly.
Knowing it was just a dream, Percy sighed, rubbing his eyes wearily.
Exhaling, he muttered a silent, "Damn."
He'd been mostly having the same recurring dream for the first few months living in Gotham. If it hadn't been a dream of her dying then it would have been a dream with her in it, which wasn't much better as the dreams were all depressing either way. But, in the most recent months, they stopped being so frequent and he was actually able to sleep for more than five hours.
And for all of last week, he had no nightmares, so why did it return now? What was different?
Groaning, Percy halted his current train of thoughts as he stood up, staring at the rising sun while he did so. He returned his focus to the plan he had concocted.
After his failed attempt at summoning his father, Percy searched for answers from some sea creatures he had later on met in his journey. They said that Poseidon was long gone now which didn't make sense. After having asked for explanations from them, he got one and he didn't like it.
His father along with the other Olympians were apparently killed…by Ares!?
Ares of all people had supposedly taken out all of the Olympian Gods including his father alone. It sounded insane just thinking about it. Sure, he was the god of War and an Olympian himself, but he still shouldn't have been capable of such a feat.
Ares having actually done such a thing aside, Percy was at a loss. Not only was he in a different time but he was also in some kind of other parallel Earth or something, because there was no way Ares - of all the gods - could single handedly beat all the Olympians all on his own.
Then that brought him back to the same dilemma he had been finding himself in for the past five months; he needed to get back home. And that was where he had gotten the brilliant idea of deciding to find his way back to the island he had arrived on, go through the gates of Tartarus once more and then go back through. Hypothetically, he'd then end up in his own time and world once passing through the second time.
It was a shot in the dark, but it was the only thing he had in mind at the moment. It was going to be hard though. For starters, getting back to the island itself was proving to be difficult even after having gotten help from the same fishes who he had met back then—he enjoyed the reunion and even shared some of his food with them—but they weren't much of a help. So there he was, days later and still no sign of the island.
Of course, once he could find the island, reaching the gates was an entirely different matter. He would have to find a way to get to them without committing any more bloodshed. To do that, he needed to sneak in covertly and make his way to the gates without being spotted.
Again, he wouldn't be able to do any of that if he didn't find the island first, so that was what he was concerned with most at the moment.
With the long road ahead and challenging hurdles blocking his way from him getting back home, Percy felt even more determined to get through it all. No matter how long it took, he'd get back home, there were no ifs and buts here, no doubts or thoughts of failure because he will succeed.
Though those steely thoughts of resoluteness were more of a reassurance for himself, as deep down Percy was actually fearing what would happen if he failed and found out he was stuck here. He just didn't want to admit it.

Still At Sea
"FUCK!" Percy yelled at the top of his lungs as he glared daggers at the vast ocean with nothing to see for miles. His frustration with not being able to find the island coupled with him having run out of food a while ago had caused him to snap, regardless of all the water around him.
After all this time, still nothing. He was still as lost as he was the day he set out to find the island which had evaded him to this day.
He tried to not admit it explicitly or even mentally, but deep down he knew it. He was starting to lose hope, even if only a little.
'No.' He shook his head at what had flashed through his mind. He will find the island. So what if he ran out of food and so what if it took longer than expected? He'd find it regardless of the inconveniences along the way.
He just needed to rest. It was late, the sun was already long gone, its rays of brilliance replaced by the moonlight that now illuminated the night sky.
He could continue his venture after a quick nap, he thought to himself, sighing.
Perhaps that could calm his nerves.
Percy groaned, laying his body on the woody surface of the boat and let his exhaustion take over, his eyes closing with resignation, whilst silently hoping for a good dream.
| Percy's Dream
'What the Hades…?'
After opening his eyes, he couldn't help but be shocked. He thought it would begin like most of his other dreams did, with him back in Tartarus, but this was something he couldn't have ever expected.
He looked down at his hands to see that they were indeed there before looking around, observing his surroundings. He was in some kind of black plane. That was all he could see for the most part. The sky was pitch black as was his surroundings. It was all obscured by darkness.
Yet there was a small illumination in the plane which slightly lit up the place, though only to an extent where he could actually see the ground's true appearance. It consisted of tiles that were coloured with a bright shade of gold, symbols of an hourglass etched into each one of them.
"Perseus Jackson…" His eyes shot up in alarm and his body immediately tensed as he stared at the two, very huge figures that now stood before him.
While he could tell how tall they were, he couldn't get a good look at them as their entire bodies were engulfed by a dark shadow looming over their forms. The only parts of them he could see were their glowing eyes, brimming with power and authority.
Instantly, his brain knew it as he gazed at the two new presences. They weren't Gods nor Titans, they were something worse…something much more powerful than the latter and the former combined.
"Who are you?" He said, narrowing his eyes dangerously at them. As he felt the domineering aura that they exuded, his heart rate increased, his body went weak and he found it hard to even maintain his balance. His body was reacting to the superiority of the beings, but his mind refused to show any sign of his fear.
"Kneel," The one on the right, who was slightly taller than the other said. Probably male, Percy thought as its voice sounded masculine and deep. Its stony, merciless golden eyes reminded him of Kronos as they glowed dangerously whilst staring back at him.
Even with the air which had now gotten colder and more dense courtesy of the being on the right, Percy managed to maintain his composure and standing, even glaring back at the presence who resembled the King of Titans with his own unfaltering gaze.
"Dear…" A soothingly warm voice left the lips of the one on the left. It was female, Percy had guessed from its feminine voice and body that was shaped like a woman. Its kind, gentle red eyes were glowing warmly unlike the man, whose reply to her attempt at pacifying his temper was a simple grunt.
The effect was almost immediate as Percy let loose the breath he had been holding through the constricted air from earlier, the menacing aura subsiding as well.
He cleared his throat and turned back towards the unforgiving gaze of the man. "Who are you? And what do you want?"
"I am Chronos, child," Seeing the look on the demigod's face, he continued with frustration evident in his voice. "Not the one you know. I am no Titan and neither is my wife. We are one of the first who came into existence and we shall be the last, we are of the most powerful beings in the multiverse. We ARE Primordials. I am the Primordial of Space and Time, while my wife is the Primordial of Fate and Inevitability. You should do your best to remember that the next time you decide to disrespect us, mortal."
Primordials…like Akhlys?
Chronos snorted, unamused. "We are not here on the account of your little stunt with our niece. What has happened and what happens with her does not concern me. No, we are here for an entirely different matter so it would be in your best interests to listen and listen well," A pause. "I will not repeat myself." He said with finality.
Great. They could read his mind.
Whether Chronos heard what he had thought of or not, the Protogenos did not let it show and continued on.
"Perseus Jackson…you are an anomaly. A piece that doesn't fit into the puzzle. A wild, unpredictable rabid dog. A delinquent who incessantly breaks the established order of things. An existence that shouldn't be…yet you continue to exist nonetheless. That is what you are," He said, matter of factly.
"I do not know," His voice sounded strained before stopping for a moment as if admitting the phrase out loud itself was the hardest thing to do in the universe. "The reason for your arrival here. You opening the Gates of Tartarus somehow tore open a breach from your Earth to this one."
Seeing Percy's confusion, Chronos held back his twitching hand that he could almost hear begging for him to smite the headache-inducing mortal.
"You have seen the glaringly apparent differences between the worlds, haven't you? Indeed, you are on another Earth, and yes, the multiverse does exist. There are countless numbers of different realities and worlds, some a lot like yours and some very different. But, I'm not here to explain to you the very complicated intricacies of the multiverse, it would very well melt your brain."
"I'm here to tell you, plain and simple, that you are NOT getting back home."
Percy's eyes widened in disbelief. He shook his head. "No," He uttered softly.
That couldn't be. He came all this way. Wait, couldn't they…
"Yes, we could send you back. But, we won't," Chronos said evenly, stoically staring down the demigod who was seething with anger.
"Why," He let out through his gritted teeth.
"Tell me, what do you think it is that I do, as the Primordial of Space and Time?" He continued, without awaiting a response from the still very angered son of Poseidon. "I am an Observer and an Enforcer, I make it so that time is running smoothly, and should there be a threat to the natural passage of time, I dispose of it. I make it so that the multiverse is in order, anyone who exists to meddle with that order will not see the light of day."
"To ensure that time flows perfectly, to ensure that no one tampers with it and the events that have already run their course. To ensure that each and every universe is blissfully unaware of each other and unable to communicate with each other. To ensure that they do not break the barriers between them. To ensure that the Multiverse and Time itself is operating nicely and that the natural order of things is maintained. This is my job. These are the responsibilities our father, Khaos, entrusted to me before his passing."
"You have disrupted that order. Your existence in that World you've been sent to has thrown the multiverse off balance. That one tear into space you've made has resulted in many other tears throughout the multiverse being created, which I am still in the process of rectifying. Your changes into the timeline have also been frustrating to deal with. This whole mess and debacle has been getting out of hand and it is all because of you," Chronos spat.
Percy who was silent the entire time finally found his voice. "Me? I didn't do anything! I just wanted to get home, none of this is my fault!" He snapped back.
"Boys…" The being on the left, whose presence in the whole exchange had been forgotten, spoke up. "Let's calm down and talk civilly shall we? Perseus, I apologise for his behaviour. I only ask that you be patient with my husband, he does not share the same concerns I have for you or any other race aside from our own for that matter."
Percy, who was slightly surprised at the kindness of the primordial Goddess, nodded as she reminded him of Hestia.
"And beloved…" The woman's voice changed. "Let's try to word our sentences a bit more kindly so as to not antagonize who we're speaking to, hm?" She said darkly and with a tone that meant business.
Chronos suppressed a groan and begrudgingly nodded as well. "Thank you. You may carry on then, I am only here to make it so that my darling husband does not go too far."
"Lady, how do you put up with this guy?" Percy piped up, his gaze switching between both individuals constantly.
Chronos glared at him. "Address her as Lady Ananke, boy," He spat, but said half-blood simply ignored him.
Ananke on the other hand, giggled at the demigod's remark. "I do apologize for my husband's rather rude and harsh behavior, but do believe me, young Perseus, when I say that my husband is a good man. His job is just a very demanding one and with all the responsibility that falls upon his shoulders, he can be a little rough around the edges."
Percy highly doubted that, but knowing of his history with unintentionally pissing off divine beings and hearing of Chronos' very demanding occupation, he kind of saw how it could be the result of his attitude.
Speaking of the Protogenoi, he grumbled something inaudible, clearly flustered though only for a few seconds, before composing himself.
"As I was saying," He paused to make sure Percy was listening. "The Multiverse has been thrown into disarray these past few months ever since your arrival…and even if it is not your fault, the fact is there's still a problem."
Huh, he actually listened to her, Percy thought. Perhaps he wasn't all that bad after all.
"We cannot return you to your world, lest we endanger the entire multiverse. Your situation has caused enough trouble, your return's ramifications would be catastrophic on a multiversal scale and I cannot and will not allow the destruction of everything I've worked to maintain just so you could see your family again," He said with no hint of empathy for the demigod's situation, which enraged Percy, though this time it wasn't directed at the Primordial. Mostly.
"So is that it? Just because of some cosmic fluke that got me here, I'm stuck here forever? Talk about bad luck, huh?" He said bitterly to no one in particular as he processed everything.
"In light of your special circumstances however, you'll be allowed an hour with the Daughter of Athena before awakening from your slumber."
Percy's eyes immediately went to Chronos', looking for any sign of deceit. Did he hear that right?
"Yes, boy, you have. You may speak with your departed lover or even embrace her, do what you will with the time you've been offered," Chronos said before adding. "Originally, I would have just erased you from existence to remove the root of the problem once and for all—"
"Then why didn't you?" Percy snapped, beginning another brutal stare down between him and the Primordial of Time.
Meanwhile, Ananke just sighed at the two. Why'd she even bother?
"Don't test my patience, boy. I can only be so merciful. The only reason you're still living your meaninglessly short, mortal life and are given the opportunity to speak to the dead is because my wife had requested it to be and I complied. So refrain from interrupting me any further lest you incur my wrath," He spoke with finality.
"Thank my wife for this. This will be the only time you'll have to speak with someone from your previous world because once you wake, this world you're in now will be your permanent home."
"Make the most of your limited time, boy, don't waste this opportunity."
With that, Chronos snapped his fingers and Percy's vision was blinded by a bright flash of light.
| Time Left : 1 Hour
| Still in Percy's Dream
Feeling the blinding sensation of the light disappearing, Percy blinked a few times before reopening his eyes to see that he was still in the same plane he had been moments ago. Only this time, there was the obvious absence of the two Primordials.
Was something wrong? Was he tricked? Chronos said he'd be able to talk to her, but he was all alo—
"Percy?"
His head whipped towards the source of the voice instantaneously, so quickly in fact one would think he'd have snapped his neck in the process. His breath hitched in his throat the second his gaze rested on Annabeth who was casually standing in front of him as if she had been there the whole time, a smile present on her face.
"Percy?" She repeated, but he didn't listen. He just took one step forward, then another and another until he was full-blown running at Annabeth Chase. Slowing down but not stopping once he got close enough, Percy engulfed her in a tight hug.
Feeling her warmth on his skin, the feel of her body on his, the familiar scent that reached his nostrils as his nose rested on her hair. He let out a shaky sigh, tears welling up in his eyes.
'Is this real…?'
Meanwhile, Annabeth was quiet after he had embraced her. There was only silence in their reunion as the son of Poseidon was trying to comprehend what was happening. He heard Chronos, but he had been doubtful, now not so much. The stillness between them lasted for at least five seconds.
Percy's musings with his sudden surge of emotions and the fact that she was here were abruptly interrupted as he found himself being judo-flipped to the ground. Once he found his bearings once more, he found himself staring into her stormy grey eyes, a fondly mischievous glint in her eyes.
"We haven't seen each other for six years and that's all I get? A hug and the silent treatment?" She remarked with faux hurt in her voice, something Percy caught onto quickly.
At first he was speechless, something that started to get Annabeth concerned for him, thinking he was assuming this was all some sort of dream, but that thought was extinguished when she heard an almost inaudible chuckle from him. Percy chuckled again shortly after, this time louder before chuckling even louder and louder. Not long after, he was heartily laughing, a gleeful smile now etched onto his face.
Annabeth smiled with equal delight at his antics.
After he was finished, Percy was left panting, staring at Annabeth with a wide grin.
"I missed you too, Wise Girl," He said, eliciting a sniff from the daughter of Athena.
"Get up, Seaweed Brain," She said, offering her hand which he gladly took, standing up.
Back to his full height and standing taller than her, Percy longingly stared at her in silence.
It didn't hurt to ask, right?
"Is this…is this real?"
She didn't reply or make fun of his paranoia, instead taking his hand in hers and soothingly drawing circles on the back of his hand.
Looking up from his hand and into his scrutinising eyes, Annabeth dropped it and suddenly closed the distance between them, capturing his lips in a passionate kiss. Percy responded to it immediately, reciprocating with equal vigor whilst bringing her body closer to his chest.
It was as if he had forgotten about all his worries, all his doubts, all his fears, everything. As if nothing mattered anymore because the only thing that did was already right in front of him. As if time had stopped, letting him enjoy this one moment he had with the love of his life.
He felt himself swell with nothing but happiness.
All great things, however, always come to an end. When it ended, both demigods found themselves out of breath, resting their foreheads on each other while lovingly gazing into each other's eyes.
"Still think this is just a dream?" She asked, breathless.
"No," He smiled.
"Want to sit down and talk?"
"Yeah…yeah I think I'd like that."
| Time Left : 30 Minutes
| Still in Percy's Dream
Annabeth laughed hysterically, slamming her hand down onto the smooth sheets they both sat on. She and Percy were sitting on a bed, courtesy of Ananke who'd paid them a visit earlier, as they were talking about Percy's life back in Gotham.
After the laughter from both of them died down, Annabeth changed the subject, thinking it was as good a time as any to bring it up.
"So, you met Lord Chronos and Lady Ananke then?" She noticed that Percy tensed, but he still held that genuine smile on his face as he replied.
"Yeah," He said, now suddenly pulled away from the fantasy he had with Annabeth and pushed back into reality as he recalled the Primordial of Time's words. Annabeth noticed him faltering, stuck within his thoughts, and instantly took action, grasping his hand gently to reassure him.
Percy was effectively calmed down, sending her a grateful look as he started to speak.
"Chronos…was kind of a dick, and I say kind of because he was able to remove that stick up his ass for a few seconds when Ananke told him off," She chuckled, eliciting a laugh from him as well before he continued. "Speaking of which, she's actually really nice, reminds me a lot of mom…who I'll probably never see again…" He finished with a sad smile.
"Percy, I—"
"Can we just…" Percy cut her off, unintentionally raising his voice a little too much, causing him to pause to fix his tone. "Can we not talk about it right now? Let's talk about something else, please."
Seeing the pleading look in his eyes, Annabeth relented and sighed. "Okay, okay…" She said, tightening her hold on his hand to soothe him.
"Tell me more about this friend of yours…Lyla was it? Should I be worried?" She smirked teasingly at him.
Percy was taken by surprise at the question and choked. "W-What?"
"No, really? Is there something between you two? You can tell me you know, I won't get mad," She shrugged, wiggling her eyebrows at him.
She then giggled amusingly at him as she watched the son of Poseidon repeatedly stuttering, trying to convince her that there was nothing.
| Time Left : 6 Minutes
| Still in Percy's Dream
There was only a few minutes left until their time together would end, they both knew it.
Percy and Annabeth were currently sitting in silence, enjoying each other's warmth as they stared out into the dark nothingness that stretched all throughout the sky.
"Percy, you're gonna have to let me go, you know that right?"
He expected it. "Yes, I know." But it wouldn't make it any easier.
"I was mad," She started, gaining Percy's full attention. "Mad at myself for leaving you behind. Mad at the fates, the universe, or whichever cosmic being responsible for bringing you there. Mad at them for not helping you get back home…it was then I realised there was nothing we could do."
Annabeth chuckled sadly. "So much has changed since we first met, Percy. So, so much. And neither of us can go back. All we can do is our best, and sometimes the best that we can do is to start over."
"I know you, Seaweed Brain and I know you're hurting inside," She said softly as she gripped his hand tighter. "But you're going to have to move on someday and you're going to have to learn to live with everything that has happened. I don't expect you to heal instantly and forget everything nor would I want you to, but I do want you to at least start somewhere."
"I don't want your old life, including me to hold you back—"
"You're not!" He snapped, only now did she notice his eyes were red, close to bursting with tears. "None of you are holding me back. You're the reason I've gotten this far, they're the reason I kept going. Without them…without you…I…" His voice sounded even more broken with each word that left his quivering lips.
"You've made your own friends there haven't you?"
"None of them could replace you…" He muttered softly.
"I'm not saying they should, but think of them as a second chance," She sighed.
"Second chance?"
"Yeah," She chuckled. "You know, once I was told everything, I was angry and sad for you at first for sure, but then I started thinking clearly, looking at it all…and I don't know I just felt a little happy for you I guess."
"What?"
"Look, forget about me and everything else for a second," She said, raising a hand to silence him as he looked at her questioningly. "Bear with me here. So forget about it all and really think about it. I confirmed this with Lady Ananke, there's no Gods and no monsters. You know what that means right? No more prophecies, no more wars, no more fighting. Don't you see? You can live peacefully, settle down with someone new, have the life you always wanted…"
Percy indignantly shook his head. "The life I always wanted was with you…I didn't care about anything else. But, I can't have you. I'll lose you soon just like I have already lost everyone else," He said softly, feeling tired as he leaned on her shoulder.
"Why did it have to be me? It could've been anyone else, but why me? I don't even deserve a second chance, you know what I've become. I used to think it was the Pit that changed me…no it only brought it out, it was always a part of me and I just never realized it."
"I don't want a second chance, I don't want a new life…I want you…" He said utterly dejected.
"Did you feel guilt every time you killed someone?" She asked out of the blue. He replied after a short pause slightly taken aback by the question.
"Are you talking about monsters…? Or mortals?" He asked sheepishly.
"I've never felt bad about killing a hellhound, have you?" Annabeth asked rhetorically with a roll of her eyes. "Yes! Mortals, demigods, whichever. Did you?"
Instantly he was reminded of them, the women he had killed so mercilessly.
"Not all the time," He admitted honestly after a few seconds. "Before the Pit, yes, I've felt guilty about it, you know, why wouldn't I? But then we went into Tartarus, and the longer I stayed there, I felt less remorse for it all you know? Killing a god there, didn't make me feel bad at all because I felt like I did everyone a favor, same with the other monsters."
"It didn't stop at me having little to no remorse for killing them though. I knew deep down it wasn't that bad to not feel guilty for killing my enemies down there, but the thing was I also felt happy when I killed, especially during a fight. I loved the fighting and the killing so much that I let myself go on so many occasions after you died. Before you died, it was much easier to control the urges, but then when I was all alone, it got so much harder to do. Without you there to slap some sense into me…it only got worse and it got harder and harder to hold onto my sanity."
"Gods…I remember a few times where I was so close to losing it that I seriously thought about staying there just cause I wanted to keep fighting, keep killing, keep participating in those endless wars in the Pit just to see all the blood and gore," He admitted guiltily.
"I got worse, much worse ever since you died, so much so that all it took now was the smell of blood and a little anger to get me going," He grimaced, lowering his head in shame. "I've become a monster haven't I? I mean, I haven't gotten in a fight in months and I've lived normally for the most part ever since I got here but that doesn't erase what I've done or what I could do. Who knows when I might lose control again?"
"You're not a monster."
"How would you know?"
"Because you have heart, Seaweed Brain," She smiled at him. "You have the biggest heart I've ever known. You've always cared and thought about everyone else's well being before your own. You even find ways to help your enemies and sympathize with them. And that's why you deserve another chance more than anyone else. You're a hero and a good man, Percy."
"That's who I used to be…" He said, still stubborn as ever but Annabeth was just as obstinate.
"Just because someone stumbles, loses their way, doesn't mean they're lost forever. Sometimes all we need is a little help," She continued. "I believe in you, Percy. You can and will get through this, I know you will."
"How are you so sure?"
"I just know."
"I don't know if I can do it alone."
"You won't be," She looked at him with a knowing look. Before he could protest, she continued. "They can help you, Percy. You just need to open up to them. From what you've told me, they really like you and they trust you. So trust in them."
After she had finished, they both stared at each other in silence, knowing full well that their time was almost up. Percy broke the stillness between them by pushing forward and embracing Annabeth in a tight hug. She returned the gesture with the same enthusiasm.
"I love you, Wise Girl."
"I love you too, Seaweed Brain."
Neither let go of each other as each second passed, the duo having silently agreed to stay locked in their hug until the end.
"Can you promise me?" She paused. "Promise me you'll try to move on, if not for yourself then for me…please?"
"…" He sighed. "Yeah, I promise."
"Thank you."
"I'll miss you."
"I know…I'll miss you too."
His vision began fading as did their surroundings, but they didn't let go. Thunder roared in the distance, signaling the end of their time together, yet they did not let go.
"Percy, you should really stop drooling in your sleep."
That was the last thing he heard before all he could see was black.
| With Percy
'What?' Percy was confused once he came to.
He was back in the same plane he had been in, literally a second ago, only this time there was no daughter of Athena.
"My apologies, but may I have a moment of your time?" A gentle voice spoke from behind him. Immediately recognising it as Ananke, he spun around and his eyes widened as he stared directly at the Primordial, who was now unconcealed by the dark.
Knowing she was a Primordial Goddess, Percy had expected her to be beautiful, but this…her beauty was truly inhumane. Her face was perfect in every way from its structure to the impossibly smooth-looking, pale skin which enhanced her looks even more. Her similarly white hair fell naturally past her shoulders and down her back. A matching white dress adorned her body, accentuating her flawless figure.
Suffice to say, she easily surpassed every Goddess' beauty in Olympus.
An amused giggle broke him away from his staring which he was now conscious of as he blushed.
"No no, it's quite alright," She said. "I'm quite flattered actually. Thank you."
"Uhh no problem…look, can you maybe not tell your husband about this?" He asked sheepishly.
"You have my word," She promised with a smile. "Now, about my earlier request…may I have a moment of your time?"
"Do I have a choice?"
"You do," She smiled so genuinely that he honestly wouldn't believe she was lying if she turned out to be.
"Yeah alright," He shrugged.
"I just want to say I'm sorry for how everything turned out for you," She apologised earnestly, bowing her head. "Of all people, I know you didn't deserve this. You're the hero of Olympus, Perseus, and while many of the heroes before you had their stories end in tragedy, I was and still am rooting for you to get your happy ending."
Percy looked confused. "Didn't you see this coming? And also, don't you know how my life will end anyway?" He asked, before quickly adding. "Not that I want to know or anything…"
"Actually, I didn't," She admitted modestly. "Annabeth wasn't supposed to die at first, but she did. You weren't supposed to cross over to another world either, but you did."
"What's the point of being the Primordial of Fate and Inevitability then if you can't even truly know someone's fate? Are the Moirai more powerful than you?"
"No, I'm much stronger than my daughters," She said without sounding arrogant or egotistical. "But I personally believe Fate and Destiny to be, excuse my language, full of shit."
Seeing his flabbergasted expression, Ananke chuckled. "Ironic I know, considering who I am, my daughters and everything but it is true. Fate is nothing but a lie to me."
"That would make your domains useless then, wouldn't it?" Percy asked.
"Not exactly," Ananke said. "While I stand by what I said, Fate and Destiny still hold a lot of purpose and meaning."
"I don't follow…" He said, feeling lost.
"Neither do I, to be honest," She shrugged. "My father never really explained the depth and meaning of domains to me and my siblings. He just gave them to us, told us what our duties were then left, leaving us to figure things out on our own."
"Real father of the year you've got there," Percy said sarcastically, rolling his eyes, eliciting a chuckle from the Protogenos.
"You're not wrong, but I believe my father did what he did for a reason. Regardless of how I came to the realization, I believe wholeheartedly that nothing is ever set in stone, that fate and destiny can be changed if we want it too," She continued. "Many fear me for what I am, but I don't represent the Inevitable Fate of all beings. On the contrary, I have no control over anyone or their choices."
"This is what I love about you and others alike. Mortals, demigods, Gods, Titans, whichever one you are, it doesn't matter. You will always have free will. Every choice you make is your own. Every consequence that follows is not because of me, it is born from your own actions. And no matter what others might think, you all have control over your future, not me, not my children, but you."
"I think the reason for why I was given the domains I have is that I am a life lesson," She stated. "A life lesson everyone must learn. Nothing is ever fixed. Every choice we make, every action, they all have consequences and it is when we take responsibility, instead of placing the blame of everything bad that happens to us on the universe or fate or destiny, that we learn one of the greatest lessons of all; that life is short and we should make the most of every fleeting moment."
"No one is ever truly immortal, not even Gods. Everyone will one day perish as that is the fate of all sentient beings. That is the one thing I know for sure, that everyone will die someday, I might not know when exactly or how because the circumstances can always change, but it'll happen. And it is important for everyone to make each moment count. To keep moving forward despite what may come our way, because there will always be a light at the end of the tunnel. Always."
When silence followed, Percy took it as a chance to speak up. "I think a lot of people who've died an unfair and miserable death would beg to differ."
"Who ever said your story ended with death? I believe that if someone died like that then their journey was still very much far from over, just like yours is, Perseus," She said, pausing before continuing. "I know you have a long road ahead, young hero, but believe me when I say it'll all be worth it in the end."
"You really believe that?"
"I do," She smiled, to which Percy returned the gesture with a smile of his own.
"…don't take this the wrong way, I'm grateful for everything you've done for me, I am, but why go through all this trouble for me?" He asked. He already knew that she was different from most Gods, Titans and Primordials (the ones he's encountered anyways), but he was curious as to why she had done all this for him.
"I love all my children, grandchildren and descendants, and I also love mortals. I love life and people in general, and while it isn't exactly my job, I take it upon myself to help as many people as I can whenever I can, to give people hope—although I'm nothing like my niece, Elpis or your aunt, Hestia—to show people I am not something they should fear but something they should instead aim to overcome, a hurdle to show them how malleable their future can be if they try hard enough."
"That's why I'm helping you, Perseus Jackson, because I want to," A pause. "Now! I believe you must get going."
"Oh, alright then," He said, thinking of what to say before shooting Ananke a wide smile. "Thanks for everything, Lady Ananke."
"No problem, Perseus, I am glad to have given you my aid. Take care and goodluck!" She waved at him and in a flash, the son of Poseidon disappeared into thin air.
Soon after, the Primordial Goddess felt a presence appear behind her. Upon his arrival, she already knew who it was.
"Hello, beloved," She said, not bothering to turn around as her husband walked to her side.
"My love," He replied, taking his place by her side while following her gaze to the spot where Percy had just been. He shook his head. "To this day, I still don't understand why you, a Goddess of the highest order, would concern yourself with the fate of mere mortals."
She ignored her husband's comment as she already knew of his opinion on how she spent her time helping mortals and divine beings alike.
"Darling, could you look out for him? And investigate more about his being sent to that world?" She asked and Chronos was already ready to protest, but she cut him off.
"You know very well of the endless possibilities and dangers of that world. While there are no more old Gods living there, that universe is not devoid of evil and new Gods will soon take their predecessors' place, whether their intentions are good or bad remains to be seen. And we both know that it wasn't actually a cosmic fluke which brought him there. Something did and that same being is what is keeping him there…we owe him at least this, my love."
Her eyes began to water as she recalled how broken he looked after being told he wouldn't come home, looking almost as devastated as he was when Annabeth had been taken from him.
"Could you watch over him…please?"
"Still so full of love and empathy for beings that do not even deserve your grace," Chronos shook his head with a chuckle.
He then sighed before continuing. "Clean your tears, beloved. For even if I don't understand your care for these mortals, I will watch over and protect him, and yes I will look into the reason for how he was able to cross through the barrier between worlds, as it will make you happy," The Primordial of Time extended his right hand, gently placing it under his wife's chin and raising her head. With his other hand, he then soothingly wiped her tears away.
Smiling brightly at the love of his life, he continued. "Now smile, my angel, after all, you are most beautiful when you smile."
| With Percy
| At Sea
Percy gasped as he felt a sudden shock of electricity surge throughout his body, waking him up in the process. Feeling breathless as he awoke from his dream, he took a look around and indeed, he was back.
Groaning, the son of Poseidon stood up and stared into the ocean in front of him gathering his thoughts.
So this was it, he thought.
This was now his Earth, his new home as of this moment. Any hopes he had of getting back to his old one was gone, crushed by the truth laid onto him by the two Protogenoi he recalled talking with.
'Well…at least I got to talk to her…one last time,' He tried to reassure himself, trying his best to keep himself from breaking down right there, but it was proving to be impossible as tears fell out of his eyes.
He had listened to them. He knew there was no way back. He knew he'd promised his Wise Girl that he'd move on and he would keep it, but damn it, it was proving to be so hard already.
He felt so very lost already, out here in the ocean without anyone or anything waiting for him. Struggling to keep it together, Percy fell onto his knees, letting the tears free as he sobbed uncontrollably on the boat.
He will move on. He will. For her. But, right now, he would let his emotions run rampant and cry, not wanting to bottle any of it any longer.
He let it all go. His rage at whatever or whoever found it funny enough to send him to this place. His sadness at the knowledge of never being able to see his mother, his old friends, his family again. His feelings of loneliness and confusion. His feelings of depression, self-hatred for the monster he had let himself become in Tartarus. He let it all out, not withholding anything as he screamed at the top of his lungs.
His surroundings didn't sit still either. The skies darkened violently, the wind began getting stronger, the sea was becoming restless, agitated as it responded to the son of Poseidon's raw emotions, reacting and mirroring it all in its actions.
The seas would be violent tonight, not that Percy would have any knowledge of that, being too consumed in all his pain.

| Percy's Home, Gotham City
Coming home, Percy was about ready to call it a day. He traversed through his house, not bothering with anything and instead going into his room quickly. Shutting the door behind him, he dragged himself to the bed and without a moment of hesitation, plopped himself onto his bed.
Closing his eyes, he hoped that he'd be able to sleep soundly. Some deity apparently heard him and wanted the opposite for him as he soon heard his phone, which he had left behind before setting out into the ocean, beeping as a notification made itself known to him.
He wanted to ignore it, but his body thought differently and so he stood up with a strained groan, went to his device and picked it up. He sighed exasperatedly as he examined the message he'd received from Lyla, who was asking how he and his mother were doing.
He was exhausted and didn't have the strength to talk to anyone. He was sure she meant well, but he didn't have the energy. The part of him that wanted to reassure her that he was fine won though…somehow and so he replied and said he and his mom were doing fine.
She sent another message his way just as he was about to put it down, causing him to rub his eyelids wearily.
Damn it, he mentally cursed. Fine, he'd already made up his mind. He would finish this conversation before going to bed.
Lyla : "Are you back yet? Your leave ends on Monday, which is nearing, so you should be returning by now unless you want to get an earful from Frankie ;)."
Percy : "Yeah, I'm back."
A pause.
Lyla : "Say Percy, I was wondering. Now that you're back, would you like to talk about what happened with your mother over a cup of coffee tomorrow? My grandma died last year so I know how it feels, and I was thinking that you might need a friend right now."
"They can help you, Percy. You just need to open up to them…"
He inhaled and exhaled.
Percy : "Sure. Where and when?"
Lyla : "Jitters. 2:30 PM, don't be late :)"
Percy : "I won't. See you then."
Lyla : "Okay, see you."
With that, Percy closed his phone, turning away from it and towards the moonlight forcing its way through his window and onto his bedsheets.
"No such thing as fate, huh?" He chuckled bittersweetly before promptly collapsing on his bed.
Despite the long day he had, Percy Jackson actually fell asleep with a small smile on his face.
Perhaps. Perhaps there was hope for him yet.
AN:Anddddddd done! Hope you all enjoyed the chapter! If so, then please follow and favorite, it would be greatly appreciated! If not, then you don't need to. Also review! Love it or hate it, I'd like to hear all your thoughts, comments and as always, constructive criticism is welcome!
So, Percy's now officially stuck in the world of Young Justice. Let's see how he adjusts now that he knows that he has no way home. He met Chronos and Ananke, tell me what you think of how I wrote them LMAO. None of you will see either of them for the remainder of this book, but they will play a much bigger role in book 2. I don't think I've said it before, but I planned very far ahead, so there's going to be 3 books in this series LMAO, announcing that now I suppose. Lots of changes will be made to the plot of YJ, as well as to some very important details and well the whole world and universe of both YJ and PJO eventually. Book 1 will mainly be focusing on Percy's life in Gotham as well as how he learns to move on and learn to start anew there. I'll keep Book 2 and 3's plot a secret ofc, but I will say that book 2 will start delving into Percy's true reason for being sent to this world as well as the MAIN big bad for the whole series. That'll be a lotta fun to write. So, that's chapter three for everyone. With this, we're now gonna slowly but surely be starting to move to the point where shit will hit the fan and the fun begins.
Anyways, that's all for now! Thank you all for reading and I will see you all in the next chapter!
Byeeeee!
