I've been struck with inspiration once more so here it is another chapter! Idk when will you be reading this but you should know that I dedicated more concentration to this than to my exam week, curse you hyperfixation!

Anyway I'm just going to say that this isn't going to be exactly 100% the same thing as morning mark's comics, because what would be the point of that? Especially when you can read them on your own. No this is gonna take the world and the inverted characters but I'm gonna add my personal things, most of the story might follow his version but with different angles.

Again if you are here for the Lumity stuff (I can't blame you) it's going to come but I need to introduce everything first, I will divide this fic in several books acting like seasons, I still don't have any idea how many (only thought things up to book 2). I also have plans for the golden guard, Gus, Willow, Eda, and Lilith don't you worry.

The usual crap:

If you could send me a review that would be great! (not that I´m forcing you), all feedback is appreciated!

English isn't my first language , please tell me if you spot any mistakes!

Disclaimer: I don't own the owl house, all the characters except my OCs belong to disney and Danna Terrace. Also the credit for this AU idea belongs to morningmark.

:The Owl house/ June 30th 8:05 AM:

-Eda-

A loud bang woke Eda up and she jumped out of bed in a stupor, she picked up a bat from the ground ready to strike whatever made that noise. Once she fully woke up and realized that she wasn't in immediate danger she relaxed, dropping the bat she looked at her alarm clock with a frown.

"Eight AM? I haven't gotten up this early since before opening the owl house!" Another bang coming from downstairs made her groan "Dang what's wrong with that girl? Never met a teenager that wakes up so early willingly"

She considered going back to sleep but her usual waking time wasn't that far, and besides she needed to check if her new freeloader didn't burn her kitchen. Resigned to her fate she dressed up and went downstairs, every ten seconds or so a yell could be heard from below and with each noise she grew more worried and walked faster. Before she reached the source of the noise in the kitchen she grabbed the fire extinguisher from the wall just in case.

Now Eda didn't know what she expected to happen down there, when she found out that she was a witch Eda became wary of Luz, she expected her to turn Eda's tea cups into frogs or to fly away with her broomstick while cackling madly. But after five days of living together she started seeing her as what she really was: just another regular teenager; she was loud, insecure but didn't want to show it, kind of a rebel, and most times she bit more than she could chew.

Like right now.

"I told you King I need help with thiiii… Oh hi Eda!"

The kitchen was a mess; her cupboards were wide open and empty, a plate was shattered in the table, pots and pans were scrambled on the floor, her tablecloth was stained with juice, and a foul smell was coming from the taster. In the middle of all that was Luz noceda, her new witch housemate, holding a cracked egg in one hand and a pan in the other. King was on the table hissing at her, and judging for the smell Luz managed to drop orange juice on him.

"Gooooood morning!" Luz said with a forced smile after a while "I well- we were"

"Luz" Eda was giving her best "don't-bullshit-me" face, so far it was working "What the hell happened here?"

"I well" She slumped her shoulders "I was trying to make you breakfast"

"Are you telling me that you made all this mess for bacon and eggs?"

"And toast… well the toaster didn't feel like cooperating"

"Why? I think you have noticed that I can make my own breakfast, besides you still don't know how to use most of this stuff"

"I know but I wanted to surprise you!" Luz gave her best puppy eyes and Eda had to give it to her, the kid was a natural at that "You took care of me and so far I haven't done anything to repay it!"

Eda closed her eyes and rubbed her temples. She really wanted to just blame the kid and tell her to clean the mess but that wouldn't achieve anything. In part this was her fault and she should have seen this coming; the kid didn't have any contact with technology all her life and now she expected to know her way around things? No, she should have done something sooner, but she didn't because she liked avoiding responsibilities, well looking at the mess in the kitchen she thought that now was a good time to start.

"Ok kid fair enough, we will clean this together and after we are done I'll teach you how electronics work around here… among other things"

"Really?" Luz's eyes were filled with excitement.

"Yeah so next time you won't make a mess, and if you do you'll know how to fix it"

They started cleaning after Eda made Luz feed King as an apology (She knew that the cat was going to be cranky for a few days and she wasn't looking forward to it) and while they cleaned Eda glanced at the teen from time to time with an amused smile, once the mess was cleaned and breakfast was served she took a moment to think how odd was her situation; she was living with a witch who was a wanted criminal in another dimension and they had the weirdest living arrangement, she still remembered how ridiculous it sounded when she proposed it to Luz:

:Three days ago:

Eda was having a weird week, first one of her exes found out where she lived and started sending her weird letters again (she needed to remember to call Lily for help with this one) then when she was in a party trying to scam some people her cover was almost blown by some kids who called her cringe, whatever that meant. Then on her way home the fucking sky opened up and dropped a teenager on top of her car.

Said teenager was sitting in front of her with a frown on her face.

At first when this girl told her she was a witch she was a bit skeptical (come on who wouldn't be!) but after what she experienced last night and her weird ears Eda decided to give her the benefit of the doubt. When Eda asked her to do magic in order to prove that she was a witch Luz simply said that she was too tired for that, and promised she would show her magic once she rested. So they spent her first day here bonding and talking about her home world.

Eda had to admit that if this girl was acting she was a really good one, once she showed her the television or other "human relics" her face would lit in wonder and excitement, and the details she told her about the boiling isles were so specific that Eda came to a conclusion: Either this girl was the best young actress/fantasy writer, or she was actually a witch... or she escaped an asylum

In the afternoon of her second day here she got up from bed and informed Eda that after 24 hours of sleep and rest, she was ready to do magic. The two of them went to the roof and Eda started to feel anxious, who knew what was about to happen? After a long pause Luz lifter her index finger and started to trace a pattern in the air, at first nothing happened and Eda got worried, but then few sparks formed out of nothing and created a circle with a drawing inside, Luz tapped the circle and it compressed itself into an orb of light.

"Ahh there you go! see? I told you I am a witch!" the girl exclaimed proudly.

Eda just stared with her mouth open at the orb, trying to find another explanation besides magic, because it had to be a trick right? But no..

Eda had been a con artist most of her life, she knew how to distinguish fakes…

And this…

This was the real deal.

And Eda just hit the jackpot!

Luz casted another spell on herself to heal her wounds and showed Eda how it worked (the woman decided to store that information for later) and then proceeded to summon her outfit from downstairs.

"Ugh now I know why you took it off me" the clothes were stained with blood and had dirt with them but with just a twirl on her finger it was all gone "Ah that's better!"

"Oh kid you just made my day!" Eda ran and hugged the teen.

"E-Eda? What 's going on?"

"Kid, have I ever told you what I do to earn a living?"

"Uhh no"

"I am the infamous Owl Lady from the Owl House of mystery!" She said in an exaggerated voice like she used to do in front of customers "I possess the knowledge of the mystic arts and beyond! Do you want to know your future? I can read that, do you want a charm to help you succeed in life? You came to the right place! I have everything from jewelry to clothing! Only the best in the Owl House!"

"But… I thought that humans couldn't do magic, are you an oracle?"

"Pfft of course not kid" Eda said with a dismissive wave "but the important thing is that the customers believe I do"

It took Luz a couple seconds to figure out what she meant but when she did her eyes widened.

"You are a scammer!" she said, pointing an accusing finger.

"Wow that's harsh kid"

"But you just said-"

"Yeah but you don't need to worry about that, it is true that I tend fool a sucker or two with my act every once in a while, but most of the money I make is from selling clothes, ornaments, souvenirs, and medicines that actually work"

"Oh well, but still that doesn't make scamming people right!"

"Oh please it's their own fault for spending their money on that, they should have the common sense to not fall for it" She then looked at Luz with a feral grin "But if you are so interested in doing the moral thing and not scamming people I got a proposition for you"

"Okay? What is it"

"If you use your magic in my business to lure customers in and give them a show I will let you stay in here all you want" Eda said, wiggling her eyebrows.

"What?"

"Think about it: these people paid for magic and if you gave them real magic it won't be a scam! And you get to repay the debt you owe me! Everyone wins!"

"E-Eda no! I'm not going to take part in your money-making schemes!" Then she started touching her ears nervously "besides I think it would be better if I don't attract much attention…"

"Hmph you are right, if we put you into the spotlight the government might get involved"

"The government? Are there tyrants here too?"

"Hah! People don't call them that but they sure act like it sometimes" Eda said while ruffling Luz's hair.

"But you are right still" Eda raised an eyebrow at that "not about the scam thing but I do owe you for saving me and letting me stay"

"Don't think much about it kid" she said shrugging her shoulders "I might not be a goodie two shoes like my sister but I'm not the type of person that would leave a bleeding teenager in the middle of the road"

"Still I feel like I should do something to compensate that but I have no idea what, I-"

Eda smiled and looked down at the teenager, if the two days they have spent together have taught her something is that this girl was inoffensive, so keeping her around would not be much trouble. It has been a while since the Owl house had a third inhabitant and to be honest with herself Eda was starting to like the young witch, in some ways she was like her when she was young: A rebel, curious, and problematic.

But in so many ways she was unlike her (and Eda was thankful for that) she was innocent, kind, and full of wonder. With a smile she made her decision and walked towards her.

"-but still I have to go back to the isles!" Luz continued rambling without noticing Eda

"And how do you plan to go back? If I recall correctly you told me that the staff that brought you here is gone"

"I- it sure got teleported! the portal was big enough to transport everything in the chamber, so it just got transported somewhere near"

"And how do you plan on finding it? There were a lot of portals near the city and you don't know your way around here, if you would go with your ears exposed and dressed like that asking for directions the men in black are going to show here to take you to area 51"

"Area 51? It's like a conformitorium?"

"Confo what? Nevermind, my point is that you need to get used to this world before attempting to search anything, besides you barely healed from your wounds"

"You are right… Can I stay here?" Luz looked at Eda with hopeful eyes.

"So here's the deal: You can stay here as long as you like, all I ask in return is to help me with my business, don't worry without using magic, and do some chores for me from time to time, deal?" Eda said, extending her hand.

"Deal!" Luz happily shook it.

"Good girl, in the meantime try to lay low and start learning how to behave as a human"

"Okey I can do this"

"Now if you want to help me with something…"

"Yes sure, anything!"

"Turn this into gold" Eda said, grabbing a piece of plastic from her pocket.

"Edaaaaaa!"

:Back to the present:

Eda didn't want to admit it but she was starting to care for the young witch even if she was sometimes hard to handle, she just hoped that situations like these would get less common.

"I am living with a literal witch in my house, that sounds like those fantasy novels Lily was into when we were younger" she still hadn't contacted her sister to tell her about Luz, and she was still debating if it was a good idea "She works for the government and she was always a sucker for them, so I think that it would be safer to not tell her for now"

Something that really bothered her is that no one in town talked about the freaking sky opening and objects floating, granted she didn't have a lot of friends in town but still. When she arrived on town with Luz in her car she was expecting general panic and chaos, the sort of this that appear in movies: people praying, some weirdos holding signs reading "the end is nigh", and crowds rushing to get to their homes, but she just found the town was as boring as always. Today was tuesday and the incident happened last thursday, she had been looking at local news and so far nothing! It was really weird.

Oh well there was nothing she could do about that, but one thing was sure: She made the right call when she decided to bring Luz in her house instead of a hospital.

They were done eating their breakfast and were watching TV or as Luz liked to call it: the flat crystal ball. The girl could not stop her enthusiasm when seeing the shows. Every time she watched an action movie she asked how the humans managed to do such things without getting hurt and gasped at the special effects.

"I cannot show her netflix or else she is going to spend all her time there"

"Well kid that was fine but it's getting late and I need to open my shop, but before that I need to teach you one essential thing"

"What is it?" Luz was watching her with attention.

"How to manage the shop" Eda said smugly.

"What? Edaaaa"

"That was the deal kid, you get to live here in exchange of doing favors for me"

"The deal was doing "small chores"! Not handling your entire work"

"Well this is my house so I guess you have to do what I say, besides weren't you saying that you need to repay my debt? Well this is the perfect way!" Eda was definitely going to enjoy this "Oh and no magic! Since you insisted on not using it for luring customers then you'll be fine not using it for manual labor"

"Gwhhaaaaah" Luz slumped in her chair, defeated.

"Quit whining and pay attention" Eda grabbed some bills from her purse and showed them to Luz "These green papers are human money, this one…"

:A Government warehouse in Gravesfield/ July 1st 12:30 PM:

-Marcus-

He reread the file for the eleventh time.

Sighing he put it aside and continued eating his steak, because honestly there was nothing else he could do. He was currently in the main office of their facilities having his lunch, or rather using his lunchtime as an excuse to avoid the newbies downstairs.

He usually wasn't like his peers who looked down at the new recruits for their lack of experience, in fact that was the main reason he was here: he was the one of the few experienced members in this unit (although he doubted it would stay that way considering recent events) sent here to train them, but this situation was different and made things way harder for him. It wasn't just a rookie that stepped over the chain of command and decided that personal glory was more important than the safety of others, no if it had been just that it would be fine.

This time an entire squad of rookies went against his orders and used a recently discovered artifact and took a gamble with it; it was by sheer luck that it didn't backfire tremendously. Now he gained the respect of all his peers and when he scolded him for doing that all of them went against him: They started to whisper behind his back as if he couldn't hear them, they were saying that he lost his touch and Jacob was going to replace him.

Marcus rolled his eyes at that. Those idiots, if only they knew.

He had already called the higher council and filled them in on this. As expected they were so scared that Marcus had no doubt reinforcements would arrive really soon here, he may not have the authority he once had but he would like to see these rookies try to rebel when Kikimora was here.

But until help was here all he could do was monitor the situation, endure the insurrection, and wait.

A knock distracted him from his thoughts, Marcus cleared his throat and told the person to come in. They better have a good reason to interrupt his lunch break.

"Excuse me sir, but you'll want to see this" Lawrence poked his head from around the door.

Marcus smiled "Come in Lawrence, I want to hear good news" Even if Lawrence tended to disagree with him he at least had a sense of decorum, and he kept respecting him despite what his peers might say.

"Well, you won't want to hear this then" And he dropped another file on his desk with a worried look.

With a grunt he grabbed the papers and started reading, it better not be another budget cut or else he was going to have a word with some people. As he was reading his eyes went wider and wider, he quickly passed through the pages as fast as he could and then he reread them to see if he was seeing things correctly.

"Lad, are you sure of this?"

"Yes sir we already checked"

"I thought you told me that there were no social gatherings that day" He could feel his blood pressure rising.

"Y-yes sir, no registered social gatherings" Lawrence shrunk and stepped further from him "but this was a clandestine party, it was held inside some rich guy's summer house and only a select few were told about it, probably because of the amount of illegal drugs that were found when the police registered the place"

"How many people?"

"Less than a hundred? A few dozen maybe?"

"And they all saw…" Marcus felt his soul leaving his body, this was for sure a level omega crisis.

"No sir" His soul came right back "We already checked and asked, the mansion was too far away for any of them to have seen anything"

"Good, good" He rubbed his eyes and sighed "so what's next? If that would be everything you wouldn't be here"

"Well so far we don't have a list of people who attended the party, but we have a rough approximation of their numbers" Lawrence took a deep breath and continued "Most of the guests were sleeping there or were too drunk to drive home, but about a third of them went to their homes or left the party early, and there's only two cities in this area that are within driving distance: Eastville and-"

"Gravesfield" Marcus finished his sentence and Lawrence nodded.

"There is a possibility that some of this people witnessed the event and maybe made contact with actives or relics" He kept reading the report "Although the containing unit was dispatched quickly it was a vast area so there's no way to know, not to mention that the amount of actives we have captured were way less than the rifts reported"

"Find that list…" Marcus whispered.

"Excuse me sir?"

"Find that guest list!" He yelled and got up from his chair "I want to know every name that went to the party and interrogate every person the police have in custody" He started pacing around the room.

"It's going to be tricky sir, that's a wide area to cover"

"Make a list to narrow it down: Find their addresses and check who was the most likely to see anything or be in contact with someone and then register their houses. I want every hotel covered and every stone turned. Do you understand? No loose ends"

"It will be done"

"You do realize that this would not have happened if we had done the things we usually do, right?"

"Yes sir"

"Good, now if you excuse me I have to yell at some newbies, try to have that list as soon as possible"

"Understood"

He left his half-eaten steak on the table and went downstairs, after everything he heard he had no appetite.

:An abandoned house in Eastville/ July 3rd 07:15 PM:

-Hunter-

Hunter was having a bad day, no sketch that he was having a horrible week. First Emperor Belos sent him to supervise the vault's safety, which would have been a good thing if it wasn't for the fact that Abigail and Wrath were there with him, and that alone made him miserable from the start. Then some lowlife wild mage attempted to snuck in the vault and actually managed to get past those two. He was there to rectify their mistakes and captured the criminal in mere seconds, only for those two to interrupt his moment of victory which gave the girl a chance to escape.

The wild witch (who was just a girl about his age!) managed to outmaneuver all three of them and then grab a relic called the plane shifting staff with the intention of escaping, but once again Hunter did what the adults couldn't and stopped her. But that wasn't enough, of course nothing that he did was enough! The staff activated on it's own and brought him here, alongside the other two.

The fact that someone as simple minded as wrath ended up in the emperor's coven was a mystery on it's own, the guy was gullible, dumb, hot-headed, and always treated him like a child. The only possible reason would be his innate skill for magic, the guy was a prodigy at that and there was no denying it.

*Sigh* How lucky he was.

Abigail was a capable soldier and a trustworthy leader, they went to missions together in the past and her loyalty to the emperor was unquestionable, there was just a tiny little problem with her: anger issues. She had the worst temper in the isles by far and she wasn't afraid to express it, either by yelling until someone's ears exploded or unnecessarily punishing new recruits. Hunter has made a point to avoid interacting with her until she has taken her morning beverage, no matter the circumstances.

Those two weren't that bad when they were doing their job and serving the emperor, but they were the last people he would want to live with. Hunter trusted them with his life on the field but he knew they only saw him as a child incapable of doing anything.

Which led to his current situation.

He was currently bringing food to their hideout while being very careful that no humans followed him, because yes from all the places in the cosmos, the staff had brought them to the human realm.

Hunter approached the room they were staying in and knocked the door three times, he heard a commotion inside followed by some yells and he rolled his eyes. A few seconds later, Wrath's voice could be heard at the other side of the door.

"Who is it?" He sounded agitated "We don't want anything!"

"Wrath it's me" Hunter whispered "I got the food"

"What's the password?"

"Password? We didn't have one when I left!"

"Just let him in you dumbass!"

Wrath sighed and opened the door for Hunter, he entered and grimanced when he saw their living situation. Before they had the best rooms in the royal castle full of wealth, now they were living in an abandoned house with cracked walls and a ripped couch. Abigail was sitting on the couch with a cast in her leg, it broke when they landed in the human world and Hunter had the slight hope that she would calm down while she healed at least.

But of course that wasn't the case.

"Took you long enough" Said Abigail grabbing the food.

"Had to make sure there were no humans following me" Hunter slumped in an old chair.

"I somehow wish you were followed, that would give us something exciting to do" She took a bite and immediately recoiled "blegh what is this? I can't believe humans eat this shit!"

"You should be grateful that I managed to get this, there's not much we can do if we want to keep a low profile, especially considering that we don't have human money"

"Meh, we should just take what we want, we are the emperor's coven! These magicless humans should fear us, not the other way around!" Wrath said while stomping the ground but Hunter interrupted him.

"That would be foolish considering there's only three of us and we have one injured" Abigail grunted at that "We all have seen what magicless demons are capable off when we had those missions in the shoulder, sure the humans may be weaker but they compensate with their vast numbers"

"Agreed, for now our biggest priority is to find that wild witch" A look of pure anger crossed the woman's features when she said that "and finding the rest of the plane shifting staff. Speaking of which, do you still have your part Hunter?"

The main reason why they were still in this pathetic dimension was because the staff shattered in three parts right before teleporting them, Hunter was holding it when it happened so he ended up in the human world with the handle of the staff in his hands. He pulled what was left of the plane shifting staff from his coat; a small white rod made out of wood with its edges cracked, it was missing the blue gemstone at the top and the golden tip at the bottom.

"I still think it's not a good idea for you to leave the house with that thing, you should leave it behind"

"Don't worry about that, I can hide it very well" There was no way that he was going to leave his only ticket to home in the hands of these two idiots.

"Yeah right" Said Abigail rolling her eyes "because you are so capable"

Hunter rose to his feet.

"What was that Abigail?" He was glaring at her "may I remind you that we are in this situation because you two were so inept that you let a wild witch into the vault?"

"If I remember correctly" She standed up with difficulty "She managed to fool you with an illusion to make you think she was captured"

"Only because you two came and ruined my concentration on the spell!" He was practically screaming at this point "you put a spear in my face out of nowhere and this big jerk tackled me into the ground!"

"Guys, calm down…"

"YOU ARE THE REASON WE ARE IN THIS STUPID DIMENTION!"

"What? Me? It was that damned witch that did this"

"Maybe she started it but you had the staff in your hands but you did nothing to stop it!"

"It was a relic from an older era" He was gritting his teeth "no one knew it was there, much less how to use it. I sincerely doubt that you could do a better job if any of you two had it in your hands"

"Well then once we gathered all the parts I'll show you that I can use it correctly"

Hunter clenched his fist and left without saying anything, he wanted to put them in their place so badly but it would be stupid, he was alone in an alien dimention and as much as he hated those two they were really capable.

"No matter what I do, nothing is enough… One thing is certain: Once I have the staff back I'm going back alone, the coven is better without them"

xxxxx

Uff and there we go, it came sooner than I expected and it's larger than anticipated so enjoy. Also I forgot to mention that I based the plane shifting staff from the good witch Azura's staff.

I need help with something: since I'm fairly new to writing fanfiction I don't know how to rate things properly. I rated this fic M bc swearing, drug mention, implied sexual theme, descriptions of violence and for my own paranioa; but I don't know if that qualifies for M rating. There's not going to be smut or extreme gore, so no idea if I'm doing something wrong here.

If anyone could tell me I would appreciate it!
