Hello and welcome to another episode of: Grey loses his head because the chapter that was supposed to be short and written within the week keeps getting larger and larger… To be honest with you guys this happens way more than it should, I know that my chapters are nothing compared to other authors but still.
Also once again I'm asking if I rated this fic correctly: I put M bc I'm paranoid but all I'm going to do is having some sexual themes, swears, and descriptions of violence. But I'm not going to write smut or gore soooo… Idk how to label this.
The usual crap:
If you could send me a review that would be great! (not that I´m forcing you), all feedback is appreciated!
English isn't my first language, so please tell me if you spot any mistakes!
Disclaimer: I don't own the owl house, all the characters except my OCs belong to disney and Danna Terrace. Also the credit for this AU idea belongs to morningmark.

-Eda-
Eda was pacing around the kitchen nervously while looking at her phone from time to time, honestly she should have seen this coming but it happened anyway. She had sent Luz to do her chores to a place inside a shopping mall that they explored together before, she gave her enough instructions to guide herself through the streets just fine.
Eda had sent her there two hours and a half ago.
"Don't look at me like that!" She said pointing to her cat, King "I taught her how to get there and come back, it's not my fault if she wasn't able to do it on her own!"
*Meow*
"Don't you dare roll your eyes at me mister!" She pointed an accusing finger at him "Besides what was I supposed to do? I had to work at the shop!"
The cat just simply looked at her with that superior look of 'You-know-the-answer-already' and started to lick his back lazyly.
"Ugh mom was right. I did end up as the crazy old woman who talks to her cats, how the hell did I turn out like this?"
Then King decided he wanted to clean his most private areas in front of Eda so she left after growling at him.
After finishing all of her duties for the day she wondered what she could do while she waited for Luz to come back, a part of her was still thinking that she should just go outside and find out what was keeping her but no… Eda's teaching method was essentially "go and stamp your head into a wall as many times as you need in order to learn, pain is a great teacher", she even told Luz that on one occasion and the girl actually tried to stamp her head into a wall! At this rate Eda wondered if everyone in her dimension was as naive as her… Or if she was a special case.
One thing was clear though, Eda's way of doing things wasn't ideal for Luz. Everything Eda learned had been self thought so she didn't have any idea on how to act as a mentor of any sorts. Well there wasn't much she could do with that because Luz had a few things in common with her, for example she hated being underestimated. If Eda attempted to follow her with her car or something Luz would be mad at her for it, and probably accuse Eda of treating her like a baby or something.
"Gah, teenagers are so hard to deal with! This is why I never had children" She sighed and went towards the living room and sat down in the couch "Might as well find something to do until she gets here"
She grabbed the remote and started looking for something to watch, but every time she found something mildly interesting all she could think was "Oh hey the kid would love this stuff" or "Dang another one of those sappy love stories that Luz likes". After a while she turned off the TV and grabbed her cards to play solitary, but just seeing them reminded her of the night she beat Luz at poker. The girl had this look of sheer determination on her face the first time Eda defeated her, fourteen rounds later she didn't even want to look at the cards ever again and called Eda a bully.
It happened with every single thing she looked at, every object in the room reminded her of the kid and that was worrisome.
"What on earth is happening? Did that kid put a spell on me or something?" Eda shook her head after a while, Luz wasn't capable of doing that "Agh god damn it" The truth was that the woman missed her, it had been a while since she interacted with someone on that level.
Eda had been alone for a great part of her life; she and Lily drifted apart after school, and after her mother annoyed her with going to college she decided to leave the house. Then it was job after job, girlfriend after boyfriend, scam after scam. With her dangerous way of living she barely had time for relationships, who would want to interact with a woman who was being chased by the police in seven states for tax evasion and vandalism?
Her last marriage had been the least disastrous (well compared to the other five), she even kept in touch with her ex husband after all these years. Eda was sure he was the first person she ever loved because he was just like her: A rebel who refused to live by the rules.
It was a shame that they had different ideas about married life; He had just reconnected with his family after a long time apart and was settling down in a small town, meanwhile Eda still wanted to be on the run. They tried to find an arrangement and for some time she went to live with him, but no. That type of family life just wasn't for her, so they both left in a mutual agreement.
Her ex did one last thing for her though: He told her that she should contact her family again, because families were supposed to look after each other. At first Eda refused but she ended up doing that for him, because she really did owe him a lot.
It ended way better than Eda expected; Her dad had welcomed her back with open arms while her mom was as annoying as always: Asking her if she had been eating well, telling her that she had missed her, and doing the whole helicopter parent act.
What surprised her the most was Lilith: Both of them left in a rough spot after Eda dropped out so she wasn't expecting a warm welcome from her, but against all odds Lilith had been really excited when they reconnected.
After all these years of college and studies she managed to work for the government in some sort of high security division, and after talking on the phone they arranged to meet in person. Lilith asked her (practically begged her) to stop her life of crime and do something productive, since she was a target for the government they couldn't resume their relationship without risking Lilith's job. After thinking a little bit Eda agreed on the condition that her criminal record would be erased.
Just like that she stopped being wanted by the law and was allowed to have a fresh start, she moved to Gravesfield and used the skills she picked up in her travels to make her new shop successful. Sure she may scam or steal from time to time but that was just force of habit and she never had to worry about the police anymore, having a sister in a high position came with it's perks.
After decades of running she managed to find a safe place to rest and settle down, hell she even got herself a cat! Although sometimes she misses being on the road Eda found out that she liked this kind of life she got here.
Looking back at all of those memories Eda had a nostalgic smile, some days she considered going back to gravity falls with her ex. She wondered what kind of trouble Stan had gotten himself into, and a part of her was itching to hear those cute voices calling her "Auntie Eda" again. She will deny it with her dying breath, but her heart warmed each time those two said that phrase.(check author's notes at the bottom)
She forced herself away from those memories in order to think what she should do for now, after considering for a while Eda decided to go back for Luz. Sure the kid might get angry for that but it's not like she left Eda many choices there, and besides she was actually starting to get worried for her. Grabbing her car keys she started going towards the main door, she called out to her cat when she saw he wasn't in the same spot as he was before.
"King? Where are you stupid fur ball?"she called for him "Fine I'm doing the thing you wanted, are you happy now? Yes you heard right, I'm going to pick up the kid so you could just show up…"
"Eda?" A voice came from the entrance "What are you talking about?"
Eda rushed towards it and opened the door, sure enough Luz was standing there looking like nothing had happened at all. Eda made her pass and closed the door behind her, and as soon as Luz was inside she locked the door.
"Hey Eda, I'm sorry it took that long but-" Luz was interrupted when Eda towered over her.
"Do you have any idea how long it took you? Because I swear I could have gone back to my parent's house two states away and come back before you got here" Eda said while crossing her arms.
"I know Eda but there was this cute dog and…" Luz looked quite guilty while rambling-
"Ah up-up! No excuses" Eda raised her hand to silence her "Did you ever think about how worried I was?"
"I'm sorry" Luz looked down in shame.
"I thought the government found you or something, aaand-" She cut herself before she could end that sentence.
"And?"
Eda stopped talking because at that moment she only just realized what she had said and recoiled with disgust, in fact she tripped backwards while making strange noises. Did she just act like a responsable adult? Like the ones who actually pay their taxes and obey traffic laws? No way, nuh-uh. She better start doing some vandalism to rectify herself or next thing she knows she is going to send Luz to school or something.
"Sheeesh now I'm talking like my mom, shit she even used the same words whenever I escaped from the house" Eda looked back at Luz who was giving her a weird look "This kid is starting to rub on me and now she thinks that I worry about her, quickly play it cool Eda!"
"Eda? Are you alright?"
"Aaaaand that was I would say if I was one of those boring parents that don't let their kid have any fun" She forced a smile.
"What?"
"Hehe since you took so long I thought of scaring you a little bit" She thought of at least twenty excuses in the span of two seconds and this was the best one she had. "That was my 'angry mom´ act. I bet it got you, right?" She said while winking.
"Nailed it!"
"So… You aren't mad about me being so late?" Luz had a look of sheer confusion.
"Oh I'm actually furious! But I'm not going to say it"
"Nah kid, I'm disappointed mostly" When Luz put a pouty expression she raised her eyebrow "I did show you how to get there, at least tell me you got the stuff"
"Yes, of course I did!" And then she handed Eda a bag.
Eda checked the bag meticusly but she didn't find anything missing in there, good for her. A purring noise behind her caught her attention and she turned around to see King, the feline had snuck up behind her and probably listened to the whole conversation. He sent her an amused glare that told Eda he knew she wasn't acting and was planning on rubbing it later, she shooed him and he ran towards Luz who gladly picked him up while Eda rolled her eyes.
Of course the only person King managed to connect with after all these years is the magic teenage freeloader.
"Aw King, did Eda scare you?" Luz cooed at the cat.
"Hey kid focus on me, we are not done here" she snapped her fingers to get Luz's attention "While you actually did your job, the time you took you just proves that you are not ready yet to start searching for that damned staff"
"Uh? What, Eda no! It's not like that, I…" Eda sent her a stern glare "...I have a reason for that"
"Well kid it better be a good damn reason then, let's hear it"
They sat down at the dining table while Luz told her everything, Eda didn't think that Luz had a valid reason and just thought she was trying to bullshit her, which it kind of made Eda proud. She was expecting Luz to lie just to see if she had the guts to do it and the nerve to try to pull it off.
The story she told her was quite ridiculous (except the part of the dog, it was quite believable and Eda facepalmed when she heard it) and it made Eda roll her eyes more than once, if this was coming from someone else she might suspect they were lying but this was Luz. Eda had gotten used to her antics and could read the witch easily, she was an open book and sucked at lying. In fact that was the reason why Eda wanted to teach Luz how to bullshit with words, not only it would be useful in her actual situation but also it was a good skill to have, oh well she couldn't make miracles.
"So you're telling me" Eda started after hearing the whole thing "That after getting lost by chasing a dog you encountered a girl being bullied… and you stayed to watch?"
"I was curious! I always liked to see street fights back home…"
"Huh I wasn't expecting that, maybe I should introduce her to a few fighting shows" Then she recalled how Luz became addicted to netflix after two days only "Well maybe not"
"And when they stopped the other kid saw you?"
"Well yeah kinda, I was leaning in the dumpster when this rat came out of nowhere and made me throw some things, this girl heard that and came towards me…"
"So you use an invisibility spell to run away but you actually bump into her" She facepalmed "Are you kidding me?"
"I wasn't expecting her to turn that way!"
*Sigh* "Okay, did she at any point saw your ears?"
"No, I'm entirely sure"
"Good" Then something from Luz's story clicked on Eda's brain and she registered it "Wait a second… Did you say the brat that bullied the girl was named Blight?"
"Uhh yeah, at least that's the way she called her"
"Was she wearing anything fancy?"
"Oh yeah she was wearing this really pretty dress, by the way do you think we may be able to go clothes shopping soon?" She then pointed at her clothes "I'm fine with almost anything but I don't have many things in my wardrobe…"
"We'll do it later this week, one last question: Did she act like she owned the entire world?"
"Uhh yeah that's a good way of describing her, judging from the things Willow told me "
"Dang who would've thought, Odalia's daughter ended up being a bitch just like her"
"Eda!"
"What? From the things you told me she deserves that title" She laughed while leaning back on her chair "Just like her mother"
"Do you know her mother? How can you be so sure it's the same Blight? I don't know if it's the case here but in the boiling isles there are a lot of family names that get repeated"
"It happens here too kiddo but trust me, Blight is a fairly rare surname for starters, but what makes me really certain is that she lives here" Eda looked at the city through her window "The Blights are the owners of a big company here, in fact the biggest of the town and Odalia works in the mayor's office. I have known them both since we went to school together" When she saw Luz's inquiring gaze Eda felt as if she needed to explain more "Odalia had always been a pest: the teacher's pet, the prettiest girl, and the biggest bully. I wouldn't be surprised if her daughter ended up just like her.
"Sounds like you had a lot of resentment for her"
"Kid the past is past, better leave it buried"
"Now I wanna know even more about it!" Luz had this mischievous grin on her face.
"Ugh this kid really likes to gossip"
"Just drop it, Luz" seeing that she wasn't going to stop Eda thought of something else "Anyway back to what we were talking about: I think you should start searching for that staff of yours don't you think?"
"Huh? But you just said I wasn't ready!"
"Crap, think of something!"
"Well… You did give me a good reason" She smiled at Luz "hanging out with a friend is a totally a human thing to do, so congrats"
The face that Luz made told Eda she didn't even think about putting that kind of label on the girl she just met, it also made her wonder if she had a lot of friends back at her place.
"Ok well that's that, I'm going to go and get something to drink and since it's pretty late for you to start searching I'd suggest you leave it for tomorrow"
"Well you are right there but… I was wondering about something else and I wanted to hear your opinion" Luz looked unsure.
"Spill it kid, I don't have the whole day" she said while getting up from her chair to stretch.
"So while talking to Willow a topic came up and I was unsure on how to respond, but I wanna know. Do you think it would be a good idea if I went to human school?"
Eda just stood there, completely stunned.
"I know I know, the whole 'Luz you are not ready yet' talk" she even imitated Eda's voice to say that part "and you are right I don't think I'm ready for it now. But maybe I will in the future, so I was wondering…"
Eda coughed and stumbled backwards into her chair.
"Eda? What 's going on?"
"Sch-schoo-schooo" That damned word, there was no way.
"Eda, you are scaring me!"
That was the last thing Eda remembered before passing out.
:A warehouse in eastville/ July 7th 10:00 PM:
-Hunter-
One week.
After a whole week of being stranded in this damned dimension Hunter thought he was going mad from the amount of bullcrap he had to withstand, but no that would make it seem as if this world was responsible for all his suffering, when in reality it was the two "adults" he had to babysit.
After his time here Hunter decided that this world wasn't so bad: the food tasted good, the animals were less deadly, and this whole internet deal got his research skills to the next level. Sure the lack of demons and the non boiling rain could be disorienting but he could adapt quickly, the whole thing of being a fugitive was weird to him and Hunter didn't like it one bit. When he mentioned that they should try to speak to human authorities Wrath and Abigail just laughed at him for a while, he never talked about that ever again.
Speaking about his supposed comrades they were having a tougher time than him in this world: Wrath was a demon so that made his stay on this dimension a little bit more complicated since he had to use trench coats or hoodies to hide his features. One time he mentioned that he didn't look so different from humans besides the grey skin and sharp fangs so he could try to blend in with them and help Hunter with his expeditions. Hunter quickly dismissed the idea, from his time on the internet he learned that humans were really prejuicial about appearance and besides Wrath wasn't the best at blending in.
Abigail had no such troubles with her appearance since she was a regular witch, so in theory she should be fine with just covering her head. The issue was that when they landed in this place after the whole fiasco at the vault she landed on her leg, which heavily damaged it. Hunter used to take any chance he got to mock her whenever she made mistakes, but the accident was just sheer bad luck: Wrath had landed on a haystack in a barn while Hunter had fallen from a low altitude, both of them ended with just minor scratches and injuries in comparison to her.
Now she was immobilized and no one from then knew healing magic which meant that she now had to totally rely on them, and obviously she wasn't happy about it; Abigail was an active workaholic with a lot of pride, not being able to move and having to depend on others was quickly deteriorating her mental health and their collective mental health as an extension to that.
Hunter for once felt bad for Abigail, he really did. He considered that it would be better for them if she healed and helped them gather the parts of the staff (there was no way he would bring Wrath in a searching expedition with him).
So he made a plan without telling them: Hunter left the hideout and managed to kidnap a human healer in order to help her, when the other two heard that they were skeptic in the beginning but decided to give it a try with the promise that they would silence the human after that.
This so-called 'doctor' managed to clean Abigail's wounds and give her better bandages for her leg, then he told her that she was going to need two months of rest more or less.
Abigail killed him immediately with a destructive spell after hearing that. Right in Front of him.
Unnecessary violence had always been Abigail's thing: punishing new recruits for failing tasks they weren't ready for, beating up people that just commited lesser crimes, even destroying property just to chase down some fugitives. But there had to be limits for things: that man had agreed to help and actually healed her who was an actual stranger from another dimension. He had a life and Hunter had seen a photo on his desk with his daughter and wife.
And now he was dead.
There had been blood everywhere, some of it sprayed on Hunter when she killed him.
When he yelled at her for doing that she seemed surprised by it, she told him they all had agreed on silencing the human and this is what she meant by that. Then she also justified her actions by saying that he did a 'crappy job' because there was no way a broken leg would take that long to heal.
Hunter tried to argue that humans did not have healing magic so maybe their methods took longer, or maybe humans themselves took longer to heal than witches. She just shrugged and said "Maybe, but it's too late to be thinking about that. Should've said something sooner".
Hunter was astonished. Sure the whole thing had been cruel and unnecessary, but it was more than a moral thing: The man had a family (Hunter did not want to think about that little girl's face from the photo) which meant that people were going to be looking for him, search parties are going to be made and authorities are going to be contacted. Even if they were able to clean this whole bloody mess with magic they still needed to move from a different hideout and avoid the authorities, which was hard enough when they weren't actively looking for them. So they needed to run away from this hideout and find another one, all the progress they made here was gone. Then another thought came over him: That man was dead because of his fault, sure Abigail held most of the blame but he was the one who kidnaped the man and brought him here.
This was on him.
That happened four days ago and Hunter still had nightmares about it, but come to think of it he had nightmares about most of the things that happened in his sixteen years of life so it wasn't much of a big deal for him. He currently was leading the other two towards a warehouse in the outskirts of town in order to investigate; while reading in the internet he found someone who claimed to see the opening of an enormous portal near this location and some government agents (He could only assume they were the equivalents of coven guards) appeared inside this building.
Currently he was guiding them towards the building while trying to be stealthy at the same time, which was a challenge on it's own with him having an oversized demon and a disabled person on his team. Hunter was quite happy with this kind of missions because he had a physical advantage in comparison to the other two due to his exhaustive training: When it became clear that he was lacking in… some skills, Belos decided he should develop other areas of expertise and began hiring tutors for all sorts of things. He trained in athletics, climbing, swimming, hand-to-hand combat, and overall physical endurance.
But the things he was most proud of were outcomes of his mental training: History, zoology, botanic, magic theory, and mathematics, he was trained in all of these fields of study and knew how to do many things the average witch didn't know about. He even continued his studies here, considering they were going to spend a lot of time in the human world Hunter deemed necessary the knowledge of the human realm.
Now if only the other two would appreciate his efforts… *sigh*.
Whenever he mentioned that they should research more about the human realm in order to navigate it more easily they just plainly laughed at him and told him that there was no need for that, because they will leave this damned place soon. Hunter wasn't as naive as them, he knew that the staff had been divided into three pieces at least. Finding them would take time and the only lead they had was that wild witch (and there was no guarantee that she had one of them), so then again his logical idea was completely ignored because of the idiocy of the adults.
Well no that was a bit unfair on them, Hunter knew exactly why they were acting like this and it wasn't idiocy. Wrath was naive but not enough to believe that they would go back in just a couple of days, he was saying that in an attempt to calm the group, which was sweet but also useless.
Abigail on the other hand was saying in order to convince herself, her mental state was getting worse and worse because of her condition, so she had to keep herself going by saying that they will be home soon. One time Hunter heard her muttering that same phrase over and over again in the living room when she thought she was alone, he still didn't know what to think about that.
"Hey golden boy" Wrath's voice took him away from his thoughts "Are we there yet?"
"Is he eight years old?" "We're almost there Wrath, I just wanna circle around some bushes just in case"
"Do we seriously need to move around so much? Can we just go inside already?" Abigail was being carried by Wrath and she was not happy about it.
Hunter facepalmed, of course they were taking their time doing this! He was bringing a hulking monster and a girl with a broken leg alongside him! And they were way too stubborn to just accept that this was a bad idea…
"Well like I told you it will be kind of hard to sneak someone like Wrath in here without the humans noticing" The big guy looked uncomfortable by this so Hunter rushed to add something else "no offense of course"
Wrath just nodded while Abigail scoffed "I still don't understand why we can't just fly high up and then blow this place to bits"
Hunter shared a look with the bigger demon like asking "Is she for real?"
"We spoke about this before captain, we can't do that or else we'll attract the attention of the humans"
"Oh please we could take them"
"Didn't you see those 'guns' they have in that flat crystal ball? They might not have magic but they are fairly dangerous" Hunter was especially curious on how the machines worked here but they did not have enough time to do research, oh well they could always come back here once they secured the staff.
"Besides if we try to fly away they will bring us down with those explosive projectiles of theirs, so please try to bear this captain" Wrath enormous patience had been drained in the week he spent trying to please all of abigail's needs, Hunter wondered when he was going to realize that she was going to be displeased no matter what he did.
Abigail just humphed and remained quiet for the rest of the journey. After a few strategic detours they managed to get into a side entrance of the building without any trouble, Hunter saw one of those electronic eyes humans used to see things (he recalled them being called chimeras or something) and Hunter immediately got to work. Being without much to do here gave him a lot of free time and he had used that productively, he had experimented with human technology and discovered that it was susceptible to construction magic, so with a little bit of training he managed to come up with a spell that was capable of disabling any nearby device. Hunter pulled out his staff from his backpack and started channeling the spell.
"I still can't believe you brought that here, didn't you say this was a stealth mission?" Abigail was being a pest, like always.
"My staff can compress itself, making it easy to carry" Hunter was just focused on the spell.
"Stil! You told me that I couldn't bring my spear here but you got your staff! That's totally unfair!" There were a few conditions that Hunter put before agreeing to bring them here, leaving the spear at home was one of them "This is the first amount of action I'm getting after a week of not doing anything and you don't let me have my best weapon but you can have yours? What gives?"
"Humans do not know what staffs are, so if someone sees us I can always compress it and make them think it's an elaborate toy or something. But the humans do know what a spear is and seeing a person carry one in the middle of the night will arise suspicion" He turned towards her and smirked "Besides I don't think it can fit in your backpack, you would need to use your arms to carry it and that would handicap you even more. That's not advisable in your current situation, you need all your limbs free right?"
The glare she gave to him would have scared the crap out of him a few months ago but after all he's been dealing with, Hunter gained some kind of immunity to that sort of thing. The main reason for bringing the staff to this mission was simple: He could not do magic without it.
That's right, Hunter was one of those rare magicless witches that were indiscriminately bullied by the witch society, it was getting better now for his kind back in the isles but in the old times they were treated as slaves or even hunted down by magic users of all kinds.
The staff had been a gift from belos: Usually staffs are only a conduit for the witch to channel their magic, allowing them to express their true potential but they weren't necessary for the casting of spells. His staff had been imbued with artificial magic making him able to do anything a normal witch could do, it was only limited by his willpower and knowledge.
Ironically the thing that made him stronger was the one making his situation here worse: He could not allow Wrath or Abigail to find out about his secret (especially her), not only they would mock him for that but they might decide that he's too weak for this mission and take his staff away from him. Titan they might leave him here stranded because of his heritage and just report to belos that he died or something.
Already in the first week here he had a few close calls, since everyone could use regular staffs there've been a few occasions when the other two asked to borrow it for a while. The problem was that Hunter's artificial staff only worked for him, any witch that tried to use it would immediately tell that there was something wrong with it. He managed to avoid this situation by strongly refusing and making them think that he was just being stingy with his magical item, but Hunter feared it was just a matter of time until they found out.
"There it's disabled, let's move" Hunter said after a minute of silence.
"Fucking finally!" Abigail climbed down from wrath and used a levitating spell to float while she stretched her hands "Agh that damned staff better be there or I'm gonna lose my shit"
"Didn't the guy say that a huge portal opened here? Then even if the staff isn't here maybe we could find a relic from the vault! I remember that there were a lot of those capable of healing" Wrath looked at Abigail with a happy expression on his eyes "Maybe if we're lucky your leg can be healed little flower"
"Oh yeah! That would be good too!" Abigail was so happy after hearing this that she didn't even punch Wrath for calling her that name "I tried walking on it the other day and it has been killing me with pain since then"
"Well then Abigail if you hadn't killed that healer I got you then maybe he could have done something about it" Hunter stepped closer and opened the door with a spell "We need to get one thing clear though, there are going to be humans inside there and I don't want you killing any of them. Before any of you yell at me think about it: The last time someone was killed we had to move to a different hideout and lay low for a bit, these humans here are specifically guarding whatever is inside and they belong to the authorities of this world, do not assume there won't be consequences if we kill them"
Abigail meditated for a while on his words and then she spoke to him "Ok deal, but our survival is the highest priority here, if one of them attempts to flee I will kill them if I have to. We can't risk having more of them here"
Hunter clenched his fists and grunted in approval, he simply had no way of controlling them so he hoped that the humans inside would surrender quickly for their own good. Watching this bloodthirsty side of her, Hunter was even more convinced of his resolve: There was no way he could allow those two to return to the isles, they were far too dangerous.
It would be better for everyone if he never saw them again.
"Fine we go in and out, let's do this"
:Gravesfield streets / July 9th 10:00 AM:
-Luz-
Luz wasn't especially good at staying annoyed at people, it totally drained her energy and she just did not see the point in doing it. She was really a forgiving person (some may call her naive) because she makes a lot of mistakes herself so she understands when others do it as well, but now she was making an effort to stay mad at someone.
Eda fainted yesterday and it had sent Luz into a panic spiral: She tried to remember the emergency number of those human healers that Eda thought her but she was too altered to do that, then she remembered that she was a witch and tried casting a healing spell to no avail, when she was considering getting her into one of those human healing centers she had seen in the city Eda woke up.
It turns out that she fainted just because Luz had mentioned school and she had bad memories about it, also Luz was fairly certain that Eda didn't faint and was just being dramatic.
That made her mad because she had felt really worried about her and Luz started yelling at Eda, the older woman paid no attention to her and just told her that she can forget about the whole school thing because there's no way that Eda is getting near any educational building.
Luz was obviously mad and tried to argue with her, but that only made the woman chuckle and say "Ahh teenage rebellion, how cute. Come back after a few years of practice kid, because there's no way I'm yielding on this one" and she ruffled her hair afterwards.
The whole episode made her new resolution to show Eda she was being serious, she stopped talking to her and humphed whenever she was near. The only response she got from the woman was a giggle, in fact Luz was certain that Eda enjoyed the new silence in the house.
Today Luz was in charge of doing some more errands for Eda while she searched for the staff in the town, even if she was mad at her (or at least she was trying to be) she still had her debt towards her and she took the responsibility of her chores really seriously. Right now she was just walking in one of the main parts of town that was full of those big buildings with a lot of windows "Seriously why do they have so many windows and no walls? That doesn't seem safe" and she still had several blocks left to reach her destination.
"Why is it so hot?" She wandered out loud, Luz knew that it was summer but still this was an exaggeration "Why humans don't have vegetation? This much metal is bad for the weather!"
She kept walking while considering summoning her staff to fly the rest of the way but decided against it, not only was it risky but also if she did that there was no way she could hide it from Eda, and Luz did not want to think about that confrontation.
She kept walking lost in her thoughts when she felt a small rumble coming from the ground, it was so small that Luz thought she imagined it but the people around her were startled too. Before she had time to consider what to do, another one made the ground shake and she lost her balance.
"What's happening?" She wondered if it was one of those earthquake things Eda had warned her about, she hadn't believed her when she told her that but whatever was happening here matched that description.
The ground kept shaking until she fell and the asphalt in the road began to crack as if someone from below wanted to dig outside. After so much shaking a hole finally appeared in the middle of the road, the traffic halted as people left their vehicles to see what was going on and some cars that didn't notice anything started honking at the people standing on the street.
After a moment of silence a tiny sprout appeared from the crack on the ground, several people started arguing about what could have caused this. Luz was shocked because she felt as if she had seen this type of plant before, but where? Something this size couldn't have possibly generated the tremors she just experienced, so maybe it was magical?
The plant seemed to answer that question for Luz: After a few seconds of not doing anything it shook and started growing, first it grew up the size of a bush, then the size of a small tree, a moment later it was the size of a truck, and before Luz could fully process everything is was the size of a two store house. It stopped at that size and then vines started appearing from it's main body, the people around were too slow to react and were blown away by those. Meanwhile Luz was feeling stupid for not doing anything before.
"Okay so it is magical" At this moment the plant started lifting cars with it's tendrils "This isn't good".

Whooo! Ok it's done finally, I've been working on this baby for a while.
So first of all happy new year to all of you beautiful people, and happy holidays for those of you who celebrate. Let me just tell you bc I need to vent, my 2022 started pretty bad: My power went out for three days and I've been sick for the past week (no covid so don't worry) so yeah it really sucks, how's your year going?
Speaking about the fanfic, the time will stay the same as always: I will (at least try to) post an update every 1 week more or less, two weeks maximum between chapters. Also about Eda's ex he really is Stan, I thought it would be fun to mention it but I'm not sure if I want to put gravity falls in this fic, maybe as some easter eggs? Oh well the future will tell.
For those of you wondering about the age and time, Stan is in his 60s and Eda is in her late 40s during their original shows so I had to make some changes in the timeline to make things fit better. In this universe both Stan and Eda are in their mid 40s. Stan wouldn't be the great uncle of the pine twins, just their regular uncle and Eda moved in with him while those two were in elementary school.
If you are wondering if the events of gravity falls happened here as well… We will see about that, read and find out!
I'm really excited to enter this new stage in the book, if you can plz send me a review with your thoughts on this chapter!
