Well hopefully you guys did enjoy this chapter length bc my fingers surely didn't, seriously I miss going back to five thousands words per chapter but then I get inspired and I literally can't stop writing. Also the fact that my mental state depends if I'm writing or not sucks.

Moreover season two has started already, not gonna discuss anything here but probably I won't follow the events of the show from now on. You did see how I took inspiration from season 1 events and probably will do the same with season 2 a bit, but my fic probably will have a completely different direction and ending than the show.

If you want to there's something you can do for me: I'm pretty new with writing fanfics so Idk which site ( or Ao3) is better or if they have any advantages, so if anyone could give me the cons and pros of the two sites I would appreciate it. I'm not going to stop uploading on both sites but I wanna know, it makes me really curious.

The usual crap:

If you could send me a review that would be great! (not that I´m forcing you), all feedback is appreciated!

English isn't my first language , please tell me if you spot any mistakes!.

Disclaimer: I don't own the owl house, all the characters except my OCs belong to Disney and Danna Terrace. This AU idea belongs to moringmark.

A parking lot outside Cliffside high school / Monday July 19th 19:30

-Eda-

"I don't wanna do this!" Eda mumbled between her clenched teeth.

"Ahh there's the rebel teen I remember!" Bump approached from behind her with a smug smile, he quickly handled Eda a mop and pointed at the graffiti-covered wall "You are going to need this to clean it"

They were on an unseen corner of the school's parking lot: It wasn't at the front of the building and the fact that there were a lot of places to hide from teachers made it the perfect hiding spot when teenagers wanted to do stuff they weren't supposed to do. Eda spent several times here with her gang when she attended and before leaving she decided to leave a mark in the walls, she had covered every inch of it with graffiti and made sure to repaint it after the cleaning guy cleared it every time until she dropped out.

Now obviously they cleaned that stuff from thirty years ago but apparently it became like a tradition of sorts. It seemed like her determination of repainting the wall after it was cleaned without getting caught impressed some younger students who decided to keep doing it after she left, they passed the tradition on to new generations and now three decades later they kept doing it even if they didn't know who started it. When Eda heard the story from bump she almost cried, she helped raise new generations of troublemakers without knowing it! How cool was that! This wall was her ultimate legacy from her Cliffside days.

And Bump wanted her to destroy it.

It was part of the deal she had to make to enroll Luz here: Help the school a little bit in order to pay for the stuff she did when she attended, Eda didn't like it but it had to be done. And to be perfectly honest with herself, she kind of deserved it: She had been a brat when attending this school and now she was paying for it, Eda had matured a bit on her travels even if she didn't want to admit it.

"You know that they are going to repaint this stuff when I'm done cleaning it right?" When the man nodded she groaned "Then why are you doing this? It's irracional"

"That way you'll learn what we felt when you were here, and besides, this is school grounds so it needs to be on pristine conditions"

"But that's the point, Bumpy-kins! The students have claimed this part of school for themselves! You should let them have it! If you didn't confront them so directly they are not going to rebel so much"

"Excuse me? If they wanted to claim this part then they need to treat it with respect"

"They keep doing this because they know it pisses you off! But if you actually gave them this part to express their art it would be better, you might not be a fan of it but I assure you it would solve the issue of having to clean this damned wall"

"Hmm… A space for the students to express themselves artistically might not be a bad idea, but does it have to be like this?" And he pointed to the messy and obscene drawings on the wall.

"Well it doesn't actually, you can still give them rules on what to do here" Principal Bump still looked unsure so she changed tactics "Besides think about it: I started it because I wanted to leave my mark on this place and that inspired others to do the same! Did you ever have a project that involved hundreds of students and lasted over thirty years? This is a collective effort!"

"Hmm… and are you doing this because you want to keep your legacy? Or because you don't want to clean the mess you left?"

"Ehh" It was actually a bit of both, but she doubted Bump would want to hear that "Of course I care about my legacy! Besides I feel like there is still a lot of things for me to do here, even if I don't do this"

"Heh, you are right on that matter. Very well, I will accept your idea for this space and we can move on with the next item in your list"

"Good, what else we got?" As soon as she said that, Bump's expression turned serious and Eda gulped.

"Where is Ms. Haywire engagement ring?"

"Do I really have to?"

"Yes you do"

*Sigh*"Fine, do you have a sledgehammer?"

"I am already regretting this Edalyn"

A rooftop in Gravesfield

-Luz-

Luz stood on top of a rooftop as she watched the finger-dragon collapse on the ground: It was a grotesque version of regular dragons with scales in shades of green and a grotesque face that resembled two hands clasped together, it's eyes looked like black nails and had toes and fingers coming up from everywhere on it's body She actually had been really lucky at finding it: she just had to follow all of the rumors and blurred photos on the internet, the dragon was too fast to be completely caught on camera so many people dismissed it as fake. It was a good thing that these kinds of dragons usually flew at high altitude and extreme speeds.

Luz managed to find him and bring him down into an abandoned factory building, in part it was because she didn't want more humans injured but it was also because she wanted to avoid the reporters and police. People on the internet were still debating if she was real or not and she seriously did not know what to think about that, on one hand she wanted recognition, on the other… she wanted to be left alone. The fight was intense but unlike the plant the other day she actually knew the dragon's weakness: They were extremely sensitive to cold, so her ice glyph worked wonderfully here. She looked around at the damage done by the fight and grimanced: several brick walls had been demolished (In fact the dragon had just smashed another as he fell), most windows were shattered and the entire place looked like a glacier because of her ice attacks. Oh and not to mention that the rear of the building had an enormous dragon covered in frost and snow, but despite everything it didn't look like the whole building would collapse from the damage.

"Well at least it didn't cause as much destruction as the previous fight, but now what I'm going to do with it?" The plant had been easy to storage: she just enhanced a pot with construction magic and remembered to water it every day and now it just behaved like any other vegetal from earth, well despite the fact that it's vines moved a bit on their own (They had to move it after it tried to eat King). But the dragon was enormous and there was no way that she could carry it back to the owl house without people noticing, also now that she thought about it, that would be a terrible idea.

While she was debating whether to leave it there or not she heard a loud noise coming from the road, she turned around and saw a dozen black trucks park on the factory's driveway, from there several people came out, some of them were dressed in black suits while others were wearing some kind of armor, they talked among themselves and started to search the building. Luz remembered Eda saying something about "Men in black" that were going to take her somewhere far away so she naturally got scared, but then she grew curious when they started placing several technological gadgets all over the place and some of them seemed to carry something that looked like guns.

"Are they planning on killing the dragon? No! I mean… it did cause a lot of chaos, and broke a water tank or two, and I'm sure that if I hadn't stopped it someone would've died… But it's not his fault! He's used to forest and jungles, the landscape here must've confused him"

Luz thought it would be better to figure out what they were going to do, so she casted a light glyph that would bend the light around her to become invisible. Dropping down from the rooftop and using her palisman to hover she got closer to them. Some of the people discovered the dragon and were quickly signaling the others to come near, many of them cursed when they saw it and then started to check him. She stood ready to strike if they showed any intentions of harming it but they seemed more concerning on looking at the screens of their gadgets, they started yelling orders at each other so Luz got closer to hear:

"... and the scans show that it's alive but it's on risk of having hypothermia, this specimen is cold blooded so it would be quite lethal to it, we need to heat it up" A woman who climbed on top of the dragon's belly was holding a tiny screen in her hand and was giving orders to other person dressed similarly.

"Do we tone down the heat phasers and use them on it?" Someone examining the dragon's feet asked.

"Negative, the drastic change of temperature will stop its heart. We need to do it slowly or else…"

"Wait, are they going to keep it alive? What's going on?" Luz felt quite guilty because she was planning to heat him with a fire glyph afterwards but that no longer seemed to be an option. When they started talking about logistics and science stuff she decided to go and try her luck with someone else, she quietly approached two other men wearing black suits while focusing on maintaining the concentration on the spell; Losing the invisibility would be really bad now.

"...yeah this one took quite a beating huh? I'm actually glad we didn't find it awake or things here might have gotten nasty" One red-haired guy with a smug face was leaning against the wall while he talked with another man, he was holding a large gun that reminded Luz of a sci-fi movie she watched with Eda.

"Well I'm gonna be honest with you Kev, I was kinda hoping we could get some action here" His partner was a dark skinned man and he looked really bored.

"This guy is your type of action?" 'Kev' said pointing at the dragon with his gun "Son you have no idea how lucky we are, this thing could've turned half of this town to ash"

"Yes I know, but I'm kinda confused. Isn't our job to keep these things from harming mankind? Shouldn't we just pop his head off and dispose of the body? It seems like a good opportunity if you ask me"

"Ok dude never let one of our bosses hear you or else they'll fire you immediately, you know this stuff goes against the agency's goals. Just let the brainiacs over there figure out a way to carry it back to HQ and you'll get your chance to shine, trust me, with the amounts of portals over here there's plenty of things for you to shoot"

Luz was really confused about these people, some talked about preserving the dragon while others talked about shooting stuff. She crept around another group that was patrolling to listen to their conversation.

"Keep your eyes and scanners open people, this was a big one so whatever took it down must be bigger" an elderly man wearing one of those strange armors was looking around while other two agents on black suits followed him.

"There's so much ice around… Do you think that a white dragon did this? Or a yeti?" One of the black suits asked.

"I keep telling you that if it was something that big our scanners would've detected it, not to mention that those creatures aren't usually stealthy enough to flee from this place without being seen. I'm sure something else did this" the other person in a black suit was a woman with blonde hair and pale skin.

"What could possibly be strong enough to-"

"Silence!" The yell from their friend ended their bickery "I'm detecting something"

The man in the armor was looking at the tiny device on his hand, it was identical to the ones the others had but this one had a blinking light and was emitting a strange noise. The other two grabbed their guns and got into a fighting position around the big guy while he signaled the others around the building to come near. Luz snuck behind them to look at the device's screen, there it was a message written in big bold letters: MAGICAL SIGNATURE DETECTED. She backed away in shock, was that some kind of magical detector? And there was another magical creature around here? Luz did not want to fight while these guys were around.

"Do you recieve anything?" Another person wearing armor came towards them.

"It's a small signature, but damn if it's a powerful one!" he spun his magical detector towards her direction "It's coming from over here!"

"Wait a second, it's detecting me!" Luz put two and two together and realized that if that thing really detected magic (and if those people really wanted to shoot magical beings) then she needed to get out of here now. She started to slowly back off towards the street but that only agitated the people there.

"It's starting to move! Do you guys think it's a spirit?"

"Someone quickly grab the ecto-blasters from the van!"

"Ok well so much for being stealthy" Without giving those people much chance to react she started full sprinting before taking off using her staff.

"It's moving fast! What should we do?"

"Wait a moment! I heard footsteps! That isn't a spirit, it was just invisible!"

They started to unsheathe their weapons and fire them with the assistance of their scans, several blasts of energy ran near her but Luz just zig-zagged away avoiding them. Finally she gained enough altitude to take a moment to breathe and cancel the spell, she wasn't close enough to hear them but she bet that caused a lot of ruckus with them. Luz didn't know if they were the 'army' that she was warned about but one thing was clear: If they had ways to track magic she had to be more careful from now on.

"I guess that I can't do anything about that dragon now… I hope they treat it well"

Cliffside highschool / 8:00 PM

-Eda-

Eda Suddenly opened the classroom's door and started looking around, since it was summer the place was completely devoid of children (except for the sad losers that had to attend summer classes) but there were two cleaning employees that were looking at her weirdly. She realized that her appearance might´ve been a little scary: She was incredibly sweaty from all of the labor she had been doing and there was a yellow sledgehammer in her hands, but she didn't care about it and moved forward.

The people cleaning avoided her and just looked questionably at principal Bump, who was following her from afar. Eda arrived at one of the room's walls and started touching it like she was searching for something, after a while she stopped moving her hands and screamed "Here!" before stepping away and start hitting the wall with the sledgehammer.

The people there screamed and even attempted to stop her, but Bump stopped them with a wave of his hand.

"No no, let her be"

The people couldn't withstand the sound produced by the hammer so they left. After a few minutes of destroying a wall Eda found what she was looking for: A wooden box inside the wall, she broke it with the hammer and reached inside of it to pull off a smaller black box.

"There you go Bumpy" Eda gave him the ring's box between pants, this has been more exercise that she needed "Tell Ms. Haywire I said hi"

But Bump rejected the box with a shake of his head.

"You can tell her that yourself once you go and deliver that ring in person, she is still living in town"

"Ahhgh, just kill me"

"I believe this is everything for today Edalyn, I will see you tomorrow to cover that hole you just made"

Eda groaned.

-Luz-

She flew above the clouds to clear her head for a while and then found a spot to descend. Eda had told her the other day about cameras and such so she made herself invisible again to be sure she wasn't seen, Luz landed behind a parking lot and changed back to her normal clothes with a spell. Even after shopping for more clothes with Eda the other day she still didn't understand the human fashion so instead she went for something modest: some blue skinny jeans, a dark purple v-neck shirt, a pair of black shoes called 'sneakers' for some reason, her red beanie that she used to cover her pointy ears, and a jacket of several shades of green (for some reason Eda called it a military jacket, so now Luz is afraid they are going to recruit her for a war). She usually didn't make a great deal about what clothes she was wearing but she was happy with her choice of attire, when Eda saw it she claimed proudly that now she dressed like a true bad girl, Luz still didn't know what to think of that statement.

"Ok well this was a busy day, so I can't wait to get home so I can finally rest" She started walking away from the parking lot with the strange people in suits still present on her mind, she didn't know who they were or what they wanted but one thing was certain: If those people were after the magical creatures they will meet again for sure. She was so deep into her thoughts that she didn't notice the other group of people walking in her direction until it was too late, she crashed into another body and she attempted to turn and fell to the floor. Luz got up and started to apologize until she saw who she bumped into.

"Well well well, what do we have here?" In front of her was Boscha with an evil glare, Luz looked down and saw that she made boscha spill the drink she had been holding on her hand all over her jacket when she bumped into her.

*gulp*"Oh no"

"Ok I'm really sorry about your jacket and the thing that happened in the mall, but I really need to go to…" She made an attempt to walk past them but Boscha grabbed her and shoved her back against a wall.

"Check this out girls! It's that brat that pushed me in the mall'' This time she wasn't alone: Two girls were standing on the sides like flanking her, one of them was the dark-skinned girl with white and curly hair that was with her in the mall, she was holding a lot of shopping bags and was looking at her with pity on her eyes. The other was a blonde girl who was looking at her with disdain, apparently she also managed to spill some of boscha's drink on her too.

"I didn't push you, we just sorta… Walked into each other" Again, Luz's attempts at defusing situations weren't the best.

"What did you just say to me?" Boscha got closer to Luz's face and she panicked.

"I-I said I was sorry! Yep that's all I said"

"Well I'm glad we are on the same page then" After saying that she pushed Luz in the ground.

"Hey! Let me go!"

"You can't just bump into me like that and walk away"

"I said I was sorry!"

"That won't cut it weirdo" she said while opening the cup she was holding in her hand and looking at what was left of her drink "How about… I pay you with the same coin, eh?" and then she attempted to drop the rest of her drink on her beanie.

Luz got up to avoid the falling liquid and entered panic mode, that hat had been a gift from Eda and there was no way that she was going to let her do that. Besides she didn't cast an illusion to hide her pointy ears so it could be dangerous if they took it from her, she did not have time to use a glyph now.

"Hey come back here!" She attempted to grab Luz's beanie.

Luz dodged and considered her options, there was no way that she could use magic without being seen here and from what Willow told her Boscha went to the same school she wanted to enroll in. If any of these three saw her using spells her school days were over before they started, with no more options she thought her only way out would be using her fists: She wasn't an experienced martial fighter but she was competent enough to handle these situations, Boscha seemed muscular and Luz was told she was a renewed athlete in school, but Luz had faced way stronger opponents in the boiling isles.

With a deep breath Luz raised her fists into a fighting position and…

"You can stop that now" A voice coming from nowhere interrupted them.

"Huh?" Boscha and her two friends turned around to that sound.

"I said, you can stop that now" Amity blight, Willow's bane, was standing a few meters from them with a mischievous smile. She was dressed in a pink dress with black leggings, her green hair (Which now Luz could see that it wasn't natural but rather dyed thanks to her brown roots that were growing) was tied up in a high ponytail in an elegant fashion.

"What's your business here, Blight?" The blonde girl said with disdain.

"Well if you don't stop bothering this girl I'm gonna show the video to the principal" She said sounding really innocent.

"What do you mean? What video?"

"This one" Amity smiled and showed them the screen of her phone that was reproducing a video of Boscha pushing Luz around "He'll probably kick you out of the baseball team for this"

"No he would never!" Boscha's tone was almost desperate as she lunged for Amity's phone but the green-haired girl just evaded her gracefully "I'm his number one star and the team captain"

"Maybe, maybe not. But why take the chance" She waved her cellphone in front of the other girl in a playful manner "Besides, you don't want your parents hearing about this don't you?"

Boscha had a face of utter rage but surprisingly enough she didn't strike at Amity. Instead she calmed down and shot Luz one last mean look before calling her friends to her side.

"Ugh, fine!" She said while tossing her now empty cup away "I can't believe you just did that, I thought that we were friends" the three girls marched away from the parking lot.

"Pfft, don't flatter yourself" Amity said while they left. When they were a good distance away Luz went towards her.

"Wow that's, I mean thanks-" but the green haired girl didn't give her any attention and just started walking towards the opposite entrance "Hey wait!"

Luz was entirely confused at what just happened, after seeing her confrontation with Willow (And hearing all of the stories from school) she thought that Amity was a bad person. But now she stepped in to help her? Without being asked? Or without asking for anything in return? It felt so out of character that Luz couldn't help being curious.

"Yes?" Said the girl stopping.

"Why did you help me?" Upon hearing that question the other girl gave her a sardonic smile.

"I am a blight" She said while turning away from her "That means I can do whatever I want"

And with just that she left Luz there with a confused expression on her face.

"That… Doesn't answer my question?"

The MCU main facilities, Easville / Friday July 23rd 6:00 AM

-Lawrence-

Lawrence woke up panting heavily on his bed, he clutched his chest as he tried to control his breathing. Sweat was dripping down his face and his heart was pumping really fast, it took a few moments but he finally calmed himself. He looked over at his clock on top of his desk and cursed, six AM… still too early to wake up for work but too late to go back to sleep. Knowing that he wouldn't be able to sleep again (Not that he wanted to, but his job was so demanding lately that he learned to appreciate any moment of rest he could have) Lawrence decided to make some breakfast to calm his nerves.

While he prepared himself a cup of coffee that he really needed Lawrence pondered on his situation: He just had a nightmare and it wasn't the first time this week either: Ever since his team started tracking down actives he had seen what magical creatures were capable of and it was disturbing. He had been a cop for a few years before entering the MCU so he had seen his fair share of horror, Lawrance thought that his past experiences would give him an advantage while dealing with murders.

He had been so wrong.

Turns out that magic really expands the limits of what humans thought it was possible: He really did not need to know that you could strangle someone with their own guts, while at the same time you plucked their eyes from their sockets to shove them up to… other places, usually a person would've died a long time ago but with magic the victim was able to live through that. Things like these reminded him of how important his line of work was, and now he understood why this department made such a fuss over mental health.

But this time he didn't dream about actives killing people, or foolish humans using magic relics and causing chaos, or even that tremendous stack of paperwork that seemed to get bigger and bigger each time he looked at his desk. No. This time the subject of his dreams wore a golden mask.

Two days ago

Lawrence stood in shock as the screen's colors aligned into the shape of a… a something. The person's face was covered by a golden mask (It had to be a mask, he refused to think otherwise) that was like anything he had ever seen: It had horns that reminded him of a stag beetle and the lower part was shaped like a beak from a plague doctor's mask, oddly enough there were two small orifices in the middle of it to represent the nose of whoever was wearing it. There were no ornaments or inscriptions or decorations of any kind, just a polished metallic surface.

But what really made him recoil were the eyes of the mask: Two oval-shaped orifices that would allow the wearer to see and, in normal circumstances, it would expose their eyes to the rest. But no, there were no eyes, only an empty black abyss that seemed to stare back at him. Lawrence could feel goosebumps all over his skin by just looking at those empty sockets, he stood unable to move for who knows how long until a hand clasped on his shoulder.

"Everything alright lad?" Marcus comforting words brought him back to reality and Lawrence released a breath he didn't know he was holding.

"Yes sir, I just-"

"I told you he wasn't ready for this Marcus" Kikimora's harsh words made him look around and discovered that he was on his knees in the middle of the room and he was willing to bet that his face looked horrible. Trying to regain any semblance of dignity he got up as quickly as possible and slapped his face.

"My apologies ma'am, it won't happen again"

"Hah, I guess I should apologise to our new friend here about what just happened" An odly calming voice came from the screen and Lawrence slowly turned back to look at it, he still felt the same terror that he felt before, but now he could control it better. The mask was still the same and the person didn't move an inch, but the voice had came from him without a doubt "I'm sorry about it young man, I tend to have that effect with certain people''

"If he faints I'm going to write a report to HQ, Marcus" Kikimora whispered.

"You are welcome to do whatever you want Kiki" Marcus whispered back to her and went towards Lawrence. He casted a worried glance over him and then put himself at the front of the giant screen "Let me introduce you: This is Belos, the ruler of the boiling isles and overall the responsible of what's been happening here lately"

"I'm responsible for all of this? That's rather cold, my old friend. I am merely a bystander in this situation"

"You should've learned a thing or two after decades of ruling an entire dimension: If you are a leader, every failure is your failure. Trust me if something goes wrong here people will always blame me" Marcus paused to look back at him and Lawrence realized that he was getting worried about him, regaining his composure he gave his mentor one reassuring nod and that seemed to be enough "Going on with the presentations, Belos this is my assistant and hopefully future replacement, Lawrence"

With that he felt as if that being's whole attention shifted towards him, and an overwhelming sensation of fear settled in his stomach. Lawrence decided to ignore that feeling (and the last part of the previous sentence) and faced the masked man with resolve.

"Pleasure to meet you sir" He felt proud that his tone didn't waver one bit.

"Oh my boy the pleasure is all mine, please call me Belos or emperor if you want to be formal. I must say that if Marcus took an interest on you it's for a reason, you must be quite capable"

"Let's cut the formalities, shall we?" Kikimora was stomping her foot on the corner "I'm sorry gentlemen but we are on a tight schedule"

"Indeed we are my dear friends. Now, may I know what was so important that you decided to call me after a decade of silence?"

"Cut the crap you bastard, you know exactly why we are calling. You violated our treaty!"

Lawrence's ears peaked at that. He knew that the MCU kept some dealings and treaties with otherworldly beings as a last resort to protect earth, so when Marcus told him they were contacting someone from another dimension he already figured out the rest. Still, he was shocked that they made a treaty with this particular person.

"May I know how I have broken our deal? If your accusation lacks evidence I might take offense from this"

"Kikimora, the report" Marcus was grinding his teeth.

*Ehem* "Two weeks ago, at 20:30 hours on the 23rd of July a level eight rift with a twenty mile radius appeared over the state of connecticut. It remained open for about forty-five minutes, several magical creatures and artifacts dropped from it and scattered throughout the nearby settlements. Humans came in contact with those magical relics and were corrupted by their power, causing death and destruction. Most of the magical creatures that were transported to this relam seemed to be mostly beastial and thus are incapable of speech, they were responsible for a great devastation of the land. In the last two weeks thirty people have died, sixty were injured, seventeen are still missing, and we have calculated that the damage done to the properties is on the millions of dollars"

"What a terrible tragedy, if you wanted to I could send my troops on a rescue mission to help you capture them. You'd only need to allow me to travel-"

"Not gonna happen" Marcus cut the emperor in a harsh tone and Lawrence looked at him with surprise. All this time the man had been a master at hiding his emotions and behaving in a professional way, but now he was clenching his fists in anger. It was rather disturbing "We have that particular situation under control, we called you because all of these creatures come from your dimension"

"Is that so? Do you have any evidence of that?"

"According to all of the records that we have on the boiling isles every single creature we've seen so far belongs in your dimension" Kikimora chimed in "Not to mention that we have encountered witches that came through the rifts"

"Oh really? That's an interesting development"

"Quit playing around Belos! You are in clear violation of our treaty!"

"The deal was that you wouldn't try to interfere with my business as long as I don't step into your realm, and so far I haven't moved from my palace Marcus"

"The deal extended to every single witch and demon capable of doing magic as well! Those witches have injured several of my men!"

"Is that the case? If I were to guess I would say one of those wild witches managed to find a way to travel in between realms and decided to cause some ruckus there. You know well that I do not control everyone here"

"No but you are responsible for those you do control. These particular witches belonged to your coven, based on their robes and the magic they exhibited"

"Hmm, may I know the information that you have on them? It would be useful for identifying them"

Marcus looked back at him and nodded. Lawrence gulped and stepped forward with reassurance, he opened a case file and started reading:

"There were three witches on the night our storage facility was raided, all three of them wore robes and helmets so identifying them would be hard but this is what we know: One was a short male wearing a golden armor and a staff, possibly young. The other was a female with a long braid of a blue color, we couldn't determine this with certainty but she might be injured, judging by the way she was levitating most of the time. The third one was a male too and he might be a demon judging by his size, we weren't able to determine anything else about him"

"Oh! well that's curious. I was wondering where those three had gone"

Marcus clenched his fist while Lawrence opened his mouth in shock, Kikimora moved forward and pointed an accusing finger.

"So you admit it then? Are these three the only invasive force present here? Or are there more witches ready to strike?"

"An invasive force? Oh no my dear, you are quite misunderstood" He leaned back and Lawrence could see he was wearing a white tunic "Two weeks ago a wild witch raided one of my facilities and entered a vault, there she attempted to take all of the magic items inside and three of my coven guards attempted to stop her. I do not know what exactly happened there because once the rest of my troops entered the vault it was completely empty, we ran some tests in there and we detected some traces of transportation magic. It is safe to assume that a relic activated during the fight and sent everything around it to earth"

Lawrence was standing there looking confused, he had expected that this had been a part of a large attack, and now this person told them the portals opened by sheer luck? It seemed unlikely, but something about his voice was reassuring. As if he was compelled to believe him in any way.

"The vault explains the magic relics" Kikimora stated after a while "But what about all of the magical creatures in here?"

"Oh they were also in the vault, that place used to be where I stored the statues of the criminals"

"Statues?" Lawrence asked Marcus in a whisper.

"In the boiling isles the maximum sentence for criminals is petrification" Then he turned to face Belos without seeing the face of disgust Lawrence did "But I thought that petrification was irreversible?"

"It's supposed to be, although it has been theorized that if they are exposed to great amounts of pure magic there's a chance they'll come back to life. It seems that transportation between realms did the trick" The Emperor sighed and the camera zoomed out, showing he was actually sitting on a throne "Oh and by the way several of those statues were actually dangerous witches, have fun"

Lawrence facepalmed, "great, just what we need"

"Something doesn't add up here, the last time we talked you told us that we removed every means of transportation that you had in your power and that you would notify us if you ever find a way to come to this dimension. Clearly you lied to us"

"I. Did. Not. Lie" The Emperor's whole body tensed with that sentence as he moved forward and Lawrence fought the urge to back off "My coven is always confiscating illegal artifacts from criminals and sometimes we do not know what they are or how they function. I do not know what artifact it was that created those portals, I'm willing to bet that it belonged to someone who I imprisoned many years ago and my guards just tossed into the vault to gather dust"

"Well now that we are on the subject of the relic: Do you have any idea what it is and how it's used? Why would it bring them here of all places? And why in such a fashion?" Kikimora fired rapidly a series of questions.

"I have a list of some relics that could've potentially done this (Do not worry, I'll send it to you) but I ignore which one did it" Belos seemed to calm down after his earlier outburst "I do not know what happened inside that vault but I have two theories: the artifact turned on its own after absorbing the magic from the fight going on there or the wild witch used as a desperate attempt of escaping, which is more likely. As for why they went to the earth? I have no idea"

"Fine, let's say that we believe you, then why didn't you call us when you found out about it? It was part of our deal after all" Marcus was still showing anger on his face.

"Because I simply did not know where they went, I just assumed that the witch was successful at teleporting and took everything back to her base, including my guards. All this time I've been preparing for a big invasion from those criminals armed with my relics, it's actually a relief to know they aren't coming, which reminds me…"

He leaned forward on his chair and pointed at them with one gloved finger. "You still haven't mentioned anything about the wild witch, is she dead? Or is she so good at hiding that managed to elude you this whole time"

The room was entirely silent.

"Well given your lack of surprise or answer I would say it's the second option" He leaned back in his throne and stood still for a moment "This is my proposition: Since I know my forces aren't allowed there I will send to you some equipment that will be useful for your quest, my scribes are working on an inventory of all of the items inside that vault and I'll share it with you once it's finished, but it won't be a hundred porcent accurate"

"That does seem reasonable," Marcus agreed.

"All I ask in return is that my coven guards are returned here safe and sound, alongside all of my relics. I couldn't care less for the unpetrified criminals in your land so you can take them into your custody, but the wild witch that caused all of this mayhem must come here to face the adequate punishment"

"That's outrageous!" Lawrence blurted without realizing "Your coven guards have caused many damages and injured many people, and you are asking for a full pardon?"

"You should see things from their perspective, my new friend: They are stuck in an unknown world and the only people they know there are criminals, it is normal that they get a bit aggressive in that situation. But I trained them well, I'm willing to bet that they haven't killed anyone"

Lawrence grinded his teeth, there haven't been any deaths that night at the raid.

"See? I'm willing to bet that all of the deaths caused by witches are going to be caused by those criminals. It is in your best interest to capture them as soon as possible"

"Do you want us to do your work? These are your people!"

"Ah but there's not much I can do from here, is it? You can do whatever you want with them but we all know how dangerous witches are to humans, right Marcus?"

To his credit the older man stood firm without changing his facial expression.

"What about your coven members huh? Even if you told us to go easy on them I'd doubt they be willing to cooperate"

"I am willing to collaborate on that front too, if you manage to get them to me I'll make sure that they'll behave. Maybe your organization can come up with a portable communication device so you could take me to them"

"We will consider that but I'll make no guarantees, if they go overboard here they will be prosecuted like everyone else"

Belos stomped his fist against the throne's armrest and grunted, his whole demeanor shifted and he got up. The emperor's eyes shifted and now Lawrence could see blue orbs in the middle of the mask's orifices, but those were shining in an unnatural way and it made him look even more intimidating. For a moment Lawrence forgot that he was behind a screen and felt like a prey watching a predator.

"So far I've been nothing but nice and collaborative, but maybe it's time I remind you people of who I am" he sat back in his throne and sighed, the blue glint disappeared from his eye sockets "I will deliver everything I promised this afternoon, I hope you can fulfill your end of the bargain"

"We will contact you to update on any new developments" Marcus moved in towards one of the buttons on the screen.

"See you later old friend" and with that Marcus pushed the button and the screen turned off.

Lawrence collapsed on the ground and breathed heavily. Kikimora had been right, he wasn't ready for this.

Back to the present

Lawrence sighed as he ate his breakfast, Marcus gave him some time off after that encounter but that didn't help. Overall he was mostly confused: There were a lot of things that his mentor wasn't telling him and even if he could guess some of the stuff based on the things he heard on that meeting there were many unknowns in the story. It did not help that the older man had to be out of state immediately after the meeting, Lawrence still resented him for not giving him any warning about belos.

"Ahh there's no use worrying about it, I'll just ask him about it when he comes back next week"

Cliffside highschool / 10:45 AM

-Eda-

"Okey I think this is it" she said when she came back from emptying the last trash bin outside "I apologised to Ms Haywire for her ring (she says hi by the way), I cleared the hole that I made, cleaned the playground, freed the girl's locker room from pests, and I've taken all the trash. We are done right?"

"Oh ho ho, I'm afraid we are just merely scraping the surface" Bump said with a smug smile "Are you ready to give up?"

Eda really wanted to give up, it had been her motto in most of her life! But she knew that if she gave up now she'll have to go back to the owl house with Luz and tell her "Nope sorry kid, it was just too much for me". She knew that Luz would accept that and tell her it was ok but deep down she would be sad and disappointed, but what was really driving her crazy was she didn't know why she cared so much! This last week she had done more things for her than she ever did for her sister.

"Man I'm going soft huh, I knew that settling down was a bad idea"

This moment when she was seriously considering giving up a noise distracted her, she looked around with curiosity and found two girls reading stuff together. Eda guessed that they were in their summer classes and, even though that would've made Eda puke when she was in their age, the two girls seemed to have a great time: They were discussing about the topics in that book and giggling from time to time, just seeing them reminded her her own teenager waiting at home.

"Enjoying studying in the summer? Man they are as bad as Luz, the kid would love it here"

"Okay fine, what's next Bumpy-kins?"

Bump just put a plunger in her hands and Eda gave a strangled noise.

Okey that was a lot wasn't it? I feel very happy about this chapter so please let me know what you think! Also I'm enjoying this second season.

One thing: I'm sure you noticed that I tend to clarify the time and place for the settings but sometimes here I just specify some things. If you see that I only put the place it's because it's still the same time from the last setting and if you see that I say the time but not the day it means that it is still the same day. Hope that's understandable.
