I've seen the last episode and I'm not okay, it sucks that I have no one to talk about because none of my friends like the owl house.

Sorry for the slow and short update, exams week got mixed with my birthday and I injured my leg in the gym.

I've been thinking about something. So far the pacing has been way too slow for my liking, I'm not talking about the events happening but rather the time happening in my fic: if you paid attention to the dates you'd realize that not even a month has happened since Luz arrived in the human realm. I'm thinking about going back and editing some chapters to make it look like more time has passed but I'm kinda afraid that I'll mess up the timeline if I touch stuff. My main issue with this is that it doesn't feel like the characters would've developed strong bonds with the time I've given them, Idk what do you guys think?

Also I found something cool: The Owl House is set in 2016 so that's what I'm going to base my calendar from now on, so just to recap: this is the summer of 2016, the pokemon go fever is at its peak.

The usual crap:

If you could send me a review that would be great! (not that I´m forcing you), all feedback is appreciated! As long as you don't yell at me XD

English isn't my first language , please tell me if you spot any mistakes!.

Disclaimer: I don't own the owl house, all the characters except my OCs belong to Disney and Danna Terrace. This AU idea belongs to moringmark (Plz go read his comics, I beg you).

Cliffside Highschool, east gravesfield / Monday August 10th 11:45 AM

"Oh come on you damn thing!"

Luz was struggling to make the vending machine function accordingly to just grab a snack, it was a really bad thing that she didn't have breakfast but her nerves didn't allow her to eat. She didn't ask for Eda's help because she was sure that she could manage to make this thing work, but it was pointless. Vending machines were so much easier on the boiling isles: you just had to tickle them in the right place and they will give you what you wanted. She should've asked for help when she saw that it wasn't alive.

"Agh, I just want something to eat you dumb machine!"

"Can I help you?" A familiar voice spoke behind her.

"I… oh"

Standing beside her was Amity blight, Willow's bane and overall bully. She was wearing a short sleeved red jacket over a pink t-shirt and a frilly blue skirt with white spots on it. Despite what Luz had heard about her she seemed calm now and considering what she had done for her the last time they met she was holding back her judgment towards her, still she didn't like what she did to Willow.

"Do you need help with the vending machine? Don't worry these things always get stuck, the school really needs to replace them" With that she approached the machine and gave it a little shove, the candy bar that she was trying to get immediately fell like nothing.

"Here you go" Amity offered her the snack and Luz took it wordlessly "Do I know you? You seem familiar"

"You kinda stopped Bosha and her friends from bullying me like a week ago, thanks for that by the way"

"Oh" For a second her kind smile was replaced with a frown but then she sighed and her face relaxed again "So that's why you are here, huh? You only came to say thanks to your hero? That's really sweet" She said with a mischievous smirk

"Ahh, excuse me?"

"I'm kidding, you are the new student right? My name is Amity Blight" she extended a hand for Luz to shake.

"Oh I kno-'' Wait no, she wasn't supposed to know her name! Otherwise she'd find out that Willow told her and she could get in trouble for that "I knoooow that… think Luz think! That we are going to get along really well! My name is Luz Noceda" she shaked her hand awkwardly.

Amity raised an eyebrow at that but didn't comment on Luz's odd behavior, which was a relief.

"Okey well if you are done here we can start"

"Start with what?"

"The tour, didn't Bump tell you about it?"

"Oh yeah, he mentioned it" of course Amity was going to be her guide, that was just her luck "I am ready, we can start"

"Ok, follow me then"

Twenty minutes later

"...and this is the trophy cabinet, as you can see we don't have many but Bump likes to show them off to anyone visiting and behaves as if we were Harvard or something. The school spirit is really high here…"

"Uh-huh"

Luz was only giving the tour half of her attention and she knew she will regret it whenever she'll get lost in the school. Also it was a bit unfair for Amity because the girl took her time to explain all of this to her, but she couldn't help it! Half of her brain was focused in untangling the mystery that was Amity Blight: The stories that Willow shared with her and the way she treated her friend told Luz that she was just a bully with enough ego to fit a room, but now she was actually acting in a decent way in front of her and being helpful! Not to mention that she helped her with Boscha the other day even though she acted in a mean way. She seriously couldn't wrap her head around this girl, and it was starting to get really confusing.

"...now if you take those stairs- wait, are you even listening?" Amity noticed that Luz was lost in her head.

"What? Sorry I was distracted" Luz gave her a smile but the green haired girl crossed her arms in annoyance and huffed.

"What was the last thing I said?"

"Uhhh, you were talking about the trophies and stairs?" It was technically true but the other girl's frown didn't disappear.

"Listen I know this stuff can be boring but I'm doing my best to make it bearable for both of us. We can end this tour now if you want and I'll tell Bump that we completed it, good luck" she was looking at Luz impatiently.

"Crap think, Noceda, think!"

"No wait, I'm sorry! You are right I wasn't paying attention to what you were saying, it's just that… this place is so different to what I'm used to and it makes it hard to pay attention" it wasn't a full lie, a third of her attention had been dedicated to admiring the school.

"Oh, is it very different from the schools in your hometown?"

"You have no idea"

"I don't know actually, I was homeschooled" she answered with a sad smile.

"Ah well, that explains the wide eyed look you had in your face when we entered"

"Aw, was it that obvious?" Luz gave her an awkward chuckle.

Amity laughed a little and the tension was broken.

"If you want to we can take things slow and let you admire the view if you like"

"Yeah, I'd like that"

"I have to forget about how Amity acted in the past and just focus on learning about the school, that's why I came here in the first place. Besides if I follow her around I can learn why she is so mysterious"

Amity repeated the last lines she said and this time Luz paid attention. She still wasn't sure why Amity's multiple personalities bothered her that much: Maybe it was because Raine taught her to always know what type of people she interacted with, or maybe because it just didn't fit the narrative she had in her head. Either way she shoved those thoughts aside in order to listen to her explanation.

"Here we have the hokey trophy for the regionals, sadly it was the last one our team was able to win in more than twenty years"

"Clawthorne… hey wait a minute, I know that surname!" She moved closer to inspect the picture above and saw a long haired ginger girl, she didn't have any wrinkles and the hairstyle was different but that feral grin was the same "It's Eda! Oh man I can't wait until I show this to her"

"Do you know this person?" Amity sounded intrigued.

"Oh that's Eda, she's my- well I guess she's my legal tutor. My mom couldn't come here so I'm staying with her, she's an old family friend" that's the lie they came up with and Luz rehearsed the story a hundred times to make sure she won't slip up in school.

"Oh yeah, I heard about how hard it is to get to this country. Where are you from? If you don't mind me asking"

Eda wanted to make sure that their story would be believable so she made her search for a place of origin from earth. Looking at the internet she was shocked to find out that a lot of places here were really similar to regions in the demon realm, the boot-shaped country called Italy had almost the same culture as the foot in the boiling isles. She reached the conclusion that many places in the boiling isles had counterparts in the human realm, Luz theorized it was due to the amounts of human junk that usually appears in the boiling sea. It took a while but she found a place that shared similar customs and history with her hometown in the armpit, even the language was nearly identical.

"Dominican Republic" She said with total confidence.

"I see, well Luz I hope you liked this place so far"

"I've only been here for a couple weeks and I still have to get used to many things, but so far is good"

-Amity-

Amity took the new girl towards the court that the track team used and she saw how Luz's eyes spark with wonder. She thought it was kind of weird to be excited by something like this, but then she remembered how this was her first time seeing everything so she tried to not be so judgemental. Casting a glance at the latina girl she wondered if she was going to bring some issues with Boscha, the other teen had been a pain in the ass after Amity stepped in to save Luz from her group of bullies and had harassed her in social media ever since. Actually she had done that in a bit of an impulse: Boscha was one of the friends that was forced upon her because her parents were investors of Blight industries, she only pretended to be her friend because her mother wanted to and because their friends in common were actually nice.

When Amity had jumped to save Luz she wasn't actually doing it out of the kindness of her heart, of course she would've intervened to keep them from bullying another poor girl but usually she would've done it without trying to humiliate Boscha. However that day she had gotten into an argument with her mother because of her dyed hair (that was a long story) so she had used that opportunity to take her frustrations with her fake friend, sadly it backfired: Boscha's parents complained to her mom about it and she was forced to apologize, much to her annoyance.

"And those were all of the sport courts, are you interested in joining any?" Right now they were outside the main building and were examining the different places that the sport clubs had to their disposal. Apparently she did not think this through because now the two girls were exposed to the midday sun without any shade nearby.

"Well I don't know, I'll have to look around and see them. I wasn't much of a sports person back home"

"Really?" The hispanic girl looked too well built for someone who wasn't a jock "You look really muscular, heck with your arms-" Amity stopped talking once she realized how she came out.

"Great, it definitely sounded as if I was checking her out or something. Way to go Amity"

"Oh well, I had an active lifestyle" Luz didn't notice her inner turmoil "What sport would you recommend?"

"Well I would tell you that the baseball team is the best but I have to admit that I am biased, I'm the team captain after all" Amity couldn't hold back a bit of pride upon saying that.

"Oh wow, you are the captain? That's so cool! Tell me about it!"

As she chatted with Luz about baseball, Amity reflected about the dark-skinned girl. She had been hoping that the new student would be different and so far she didn't disappoint. Being honest with herself Amity thought she was a troublemaker when she first saw her: Military jacket, ripped jeans, and a red beanie that really completed the 'mean girl' look. But she turned out to be charismatic, energetic, and kind. She was starting to worry that the way her mother tended to pay too much attention to appearances was starting to rub on her, it was a disturbing thought.

"Hey Amity, who are they? And why aren't they dying of heat like us?" Luz pointed at some upperclassmen running in the track field.

"Oh those are some seniors from the track team, they must be practicing. Also I have no idea why they aren't melting" seriously it was getting too hot to stand around

"Isn't this the middle of the summer? What are they doing here?" Then she looked at Amity as if she just noticed something "Now that I think about it, what are you even doing here?"

Amity crossed her arms and raised her eyebrow in annoyance, she knew what Luz meant but the girl really needed to work on her wording. When the Latina girl saw her she started panicking.

"Agh! No, sorry it's just that well. Usually students aren't supposed to be in school during summer vacation, that was what I was thought and I don't know myself but if it's wrong I-" It would've been funny to let her tangle in her own words and dig herself into a deeper mess but Amity just didn't have the patience for that.

"Wow, you tend to ramble a lot right?"

"Yeah I need to work on that" She admitted with a shy smile.

"Well for your information there's something called 'summer school', it's usually designed for those who need extra credit or those who want to excel at their studies" then she pointed at the people running "they are here because the last captain is going to college soon and the whole team gathered for a last meeting with him"

"Oh that's cool, can we continue? I think I'm going to pass out from the heat" Then she made a dramatic falling gesture.

Amity chuckled and started leading them back inside when one of the male track team members ran near them. She narrowed her eyes and grew suspicious immediately: This part of the circuit was too far away from the others and so far no one from the team had run towards them, which meant that he had come over her on purpose. The boy proved her right when he took a moment to lean on a wall to rest and took of his shirt while complaining about the heat, she had to admit that he hid his intentions well: He didn't look at them at once and he didn't do anything out of the ordinary to call their attention, he just so happened to run past two attractive girls and suddenly decided to expose his six-pack, because of the heat of course.

Amity rolled her eyes and made a mental note to tell bump about this. She grabbed Luz to guide them away from this jerk but she was surprised to find some resistance, when she looked at her she saw that the other girl was looking at the boy with a blush on her face. The boy also noticed that and waved at Luz who started to nervously play with her hair.

"Oh, come on" Amity huffed and janked Luz away with a little bit more strength than required "Of course you had to be straight" she thought with a bit of bitterness.

They continued the tour but Amity just wasn't into it, she kept talking in a monotone voice and moving fast from one topic to another without giving Luz time to assimilate things. She was still mad at the track team student that tried to pull that stunt on them, the worst part was that it wasn't the first time something similar happened to her.

"Hey Amity?" Luz asked once she stopped at the final part of the tour: the chemistry classroom.

"What is it?" She answered in a snappy tone and made the other girl recoil "sorry its just that the track guy really annoyed me"

"Yeah I was surprised by that too, i-is it a common thing?"

"No it's not, or at least it shouldn't be. Usually this place is filled with other students and teachers so he wouldn't be able to put on a stunt like that, but since this place is almost empty…"

"I get it, are we going to tell bump about this?"

"Oh don't worry I will, now what were you going to ask?"

"Well I've heard all sorts of bad stuff about the girl that bullied me the other day and she knew about you. So I was wondering if she went to this school"

"Oh…" Amity didn't even think of that "Yeah, Boscha does study here and she is the alpha bitch of the institution. She also is notorious for holding grudges, so good luck with that"

"Nooo, I already started with an enemy here" Luz's sad whine made her laugh.

Truthfully Amity was dreading this new school year, having to tolerate Boscha and her group of cheerleaders after their messy almost fight? Yeah no, thank you. She'll even miss hanging out with the twins even if they pranked her a lot, they were the only ones she had to talk about her real thoughts. Also it was really unlikely that she would be able to hung out with Luz, the girl seemed fun to have as a friend but her friend group wouldn't like her due to her incident with Boscha and Amity could not fight them again or else her parents were going to get mad with her for angering the daughters of their investors. Maybe she could talk to Luz about the situation and she'll understand

"Well I'm sorry but I won't be able to rescue you again, I got in trouble because of last time, hey do you want to wait outside until your guardian is done?" She turned back to look at her but Luz was just looking at her phone with a pale face "Are you alright?"

"Ehhh, yeah. Sorry but I gotta go now, something just came up" She immediately put away her phone and shaked Amity's hand hastily "I'm really sorry but this is really important, I'm happy to have met you and I hope we can see each other when school starts. Seeyagoodbye!"

Then she ran towards the exit in full sprint without giving Amity enough time to register what happened, she stood there with a perplexed expression.

"Eda we gotta go!" She heard Luz from downstairs "Code W, Code W!"

"She's really weird" Amity shaked her head in annoyance "But then again, maybe 'weird' is what this school needs after so many ordinary people"

The Owl house, Gravesfield / Friday August 14th, 8:00 PM

"Luz, I swear that if you don't go to close the shop before the racoons start appearing you are going to sleep with your carnivore plant for a week!"

"Sorry! I was studying"

"We talked about this, your work here comes first. If my income starts to get lower I'm going to pull you out of school"

Right now they were getting ready to finish a busy day of work. It was kind of productive but Luz had her head buried on her school books of hers. Ever since Bump told her that Luz needed to take an exam to see if she could actually manage to be in a class with kids her age the little witch had entered panic mode, they managed to borrow some books from the principal but that only managed to get her more anxious. To make things worse she did not have much time to start studying these past couple days because she was tracking down a monster ever since they left the school.

"Kid, pay attention when you restock the store! You got King's food mixed with my remedies and I don't think that I can tell the clients that the friskies are an ancient familiar recipe for stomach ache" The girl was obviously trying to do her chores as fast as she could but that only made things worse.

"I'm sorry, it's just that this is a lot. My entrance exam is less than a week away! In between fighting the monster and working at the shop I haven't had time to study at all!"

"Well if I may be honest with you I think you are in a good place to start with, I mean you are good with some subjects" Particularly Luz exceeded at Littereature because of her habit of reading and Maths for some reason (she claimed that it was required for some spells). Eda could help her with chemistry and science since she was good at those but she really stumbled with two subjects: Geography and ...

"History! What was I thinking? There's no way that I can memorize this realm's history in less than a week! Not to mention that these texts are so boring… I feel like I'm falling asleep from only reading one paragraph!"

"Well there isn't much that we can do about that" Eda shrugged helplessly "There isn't another way of studying history than learning and we already told them that you were homeschooled, so they are going to expect some degree of knowledge in that area. Your best bet is to focus on the things you are good at and hope that would be enough to balance it out"

"Still it feels like it isn't much time at all, do you think that you can talk with principal Bump to postpone it for a bit?"

"Oh yeah, about that. I don't think it can be done because they did give you a lot of time to prepare" Eda chuckled nervously.

"What do you mean?"

"Well They notified me about the exam when I applied with Bump a week ago, but I forgot to check my mail. Sorry?" Eda gave her best innocent smile.

"Eda!" Luz yelled at her in rage only to be interrupted by the sound of her phone ringing.

"Well look at that, I better take this call. You go back to studying!" She then grabbed her cellphone and ran away from the room ignoring the protesting yells.

She looked at the name of the caller and all of her enthusiasm died, her sister Lilith was trying to reach her again. Eda couldn't blame her though, hearing that your sister who's a wanted criminal suddenly has a minor under her care can be a bit surprising.

She sighed and decided to just get this over with. She tapped the accept call button and her sister's face appeared on the screen. Lilith hadn't changed much since the last time she saw her: She still dyed her hair black and refused to wear anything but her formal attire, right now her pale skin was a bit sunburnt and her big teal eyes were glowing with rage.

"Hello Lily, how's it going? Are you enjoying your first vacation in years?" She said with a mocking tone.

"Edalyn! What's this I am hearing about you living with a minor?! Why haven't you answered my calls? And why didn't I know that I had a niece? Is she Stan 's or…"

"Ok hold your horses there sis, I'm going to tell what's happening before you get a panic attack but you need to let me talk!" Her sister sounded like she was hyperventilating.

"You'd better explain! I haven't heard about you in months and now Bump tells me that you want to enroll your daughter? What's this all about?"

"Dang it Bump! Why do you have to complicate things"

"Ok calm down fuzzypants, it's nothing bad. So a couple of weeks ago I…" She briefly contemplated telling her the truth but decided against it "Met with the daughter of an old acquaintance, her mother used to be one of my traveling buddies back when I lived on the road…"

"So you took in the daughter of a criminal? Eda I thought you left that life!"

"Oh could you please stop assuming every person I know is a criminal! And stop interrupting! You are only making this take longer than it's supposed to"

"Right… right, sorry for screaming"

"Just please let me finish before jumping to more conclusions" Eda clenched her teeth. This was the reason why she didn't call her sister often, Lilith always assumed the worst of her even before she was a criminal.

"Yes, I'm sorry. Please continue"

"Like I was saying she is not my daughter. Her mother isn't a criminal either, she just sent her here so she could have a better life. Luz appeared on the road alone with a letter for me, I may not be the best citizen but I'll never leave a teenager homeless"

"And you just… took her in? Fed her and sent her to school?"

"Wow ok you don't have to act so surprised, I am capable of feeling empathy you know?"

"That's not what I meant! It's just that I never expected you to behave like a responsible adult" Eda knew that Lilith had a gleeful smile on her face "You even sent her to school! You hate school"

"Hey I only put her in that madhouse because she wanted to go there herself, otherwise I would've never done it" Lily was really enthusiastic about 'reforming' her so Eda had to stop her before she got any ideas.

"Still that's really nice of you. Also you kept her fed, I remember when you used to be so stingy with money…"

"Hey I may be willing to take in a stranger, but I draw the line at freeloaders! The girl has been helping around the house and the shop to help pay for things"

"Isn't she a minor? Edalyn we have laws against child labor!"

"Oh relax! Those are just some chores, kinda like the stuff we did to help dad's workshop back in the day. Besides she's sixteen, kids her age have part time jobs"

"I see, and how are you dealing with all the paperwork for her?"

"Eh, I still got a few favors to cash. My acquaintances took care of everything"

"I see… Wait a moment Bump mentioned that she was an immigrant. Edalyn, is she-"

"I'm not going to let you finish that sentence Lily, I have all the documentation she needs for school so it's going to be okey as long as a certain government agent doesn't poke her nose around" she then pointed an accusing finger at her sister.

*Sigh*"Fine, you win. Do you at least have her vaccinated? It's a requirement for school"

"Uhhh" Eda did have the vaccination papers she forged but Luz wasn't vaccinated herself. She claimed that witches were immune to most human viruses that appeared whenever a human landed on her realm, apparently they developed healing spells that worked as vaccines.

"Edalyn!" Sadly Eda took too much time to speak and that worked as an answer for Lilith.

"Yes she is vaccinated Lily! Don't worry about it" Eda tried to give her most confident smile.

"You will immediately send me those papers to check, I draw the line at sending an unvaccinated child at school. The last thing I need is another family member who is against this type of stuff" Lilith had a stern look on her face.

"Blegh don't remind me, I still get notifications from mom wanting me to look at stuff from her facebook antivax group" That earned a chuckle from Lilith "Don't worry I'll send you the stuff, maybe that will calm you"

"Well I'm glad that's settled" she then made an uneasy face but refused to speak for a while.

"I can tell that you want to ask me something. Come on sis, tell me I won't be mad"

"Well… it's good to hear that you are making connections with someone else and it's nice to think that you are finally behaving like an adult, but I can't help wondering why you didn't send her to foster care? It must be hard to maintain her and your shop, not to mention your illness-"

"If you keep going like this I'm going to hung up, you know I don't like pity" Eda took a deep breath to calm herself "I do not trust the system lily, especially considering how this government treats immigrants"

"I see…"

"Besides" a smile crept in Eda's face "I've gotten used to having the kid around. Sure she's a drag to handle but she can be quite helpful… sometimes"

"Wow sister, are you finally showing your feelings? The way you talk about her is almost maternal, should I tell our parents that they have a granddaughter?" Lilith's mocking tone was exasperating to Eda.

"No way, I already have enough of them asking me when I'm going to remarry, as if I still was in my 20s" that earned a chuckle from the other woman "Well that's pretty much everything that's been happening here, other than Luz everything is boring. What about you? How is hawaii? I see that the paper pusher finally got to see the sun" Lilith has always been pale and her office life didn't help at all with that matter. Her sunburnt skin told Eda that she didn't stay outside.

"Agh please don't start, you are as bad as my coworkers, they forced me to go out today and that's why I look like this"

"I can see, you look like a lobster Lily! Tell me, did they manage to make you wear the bikini I sent you?" Eda laughed at her betrayed expression.

"It was you! Edalyn, that swimsuit was too revealing!"

"So they did manage to pull it off!" Eda was dying of laughter.

"Edalyn! This was supposed to be a work trip!"

"Yeah a 'work trip' to freaking Hawaii! There was no way that they were going to let you spend your entire time there reading books inside

"How did you even manage to send something to my coworkers without me knowing anyway?"

"I'm an ex-convict, remember? I still got my tricks. Now tell me, who was the brave soul that dared to face the wrath of their boss for a good prank? Did Steve step up to the challenge?"

"You are not going to get any answers from me, that was embarrassing!" Lilith's pout was so cute it reminded Eda of the times she picked on her when they were kids.

"Ok I'm stopping now don't worry, I'll just ask the guys for pics when you come back" She added with a sly grin.

"Don't you dare! Can we just… I don't know, change the subject? How's your new ward doing?"

"Well she is okey… kind off, she has to pass the entrance exam from school and that got her filled with anxiety"

"She is worried about exams? I'm surprised that you haven't tried to tempt her with ditching class"

"Oh I've tried but to no avail, Luz is pretty stubborn and she knows what she wants"

"Hmmm" Lilith looked thoughtful for a moment "Do you think that I could meet her? Only if she is okay with it of course, I wouldn't want to impose…"

Eda wasn't expecting this development and was unsure what to answer. On one hand it could be super risky to have Lilith, who was a government agent loyal to her institution, interact with an extra dimensional being like Luz. Especially considering that she almost accidentally exposes her identity every week or so. But on the other hand Eda wanted these two to get to know each other because if Lily came back from her trip they were going to interact anyway, so why not start now?

"Yeah sure, let me ask her first"

Eda left her phone on the table and went towards Luz's room, upon entering she saw that it was in the same mess as this morning: Several textbooks opened on the floor and stacks of papers in the table. Surprisingly she didn't find Luz hunched over some text and trying to memorize it, instead she was laying on her bed while she giggled at something on her phone.

"Really kid?" Eda went towards her and flicked her fingers against her ear "I can't believe that I'm going to say this but, didn't you say that you were studying? *Blegh* I feel sick just by saying that"

"But I was studying Eda" Luz complained to her while rubbing her ear.

"Yeah right I saw you looking at your phone. Listen kid I understand if you don't want to study and I'll happily cancel that inscription, but I feel like quitting now after all we had to do is kinda-"

"What? No, I don't want to quit! I was really studying when you came in. I've spoken about my problem with Willow and Gus and they shared some useful videos with me. They make history lessons with cartoons and it's way better than a history book. Look!"

"Whatever kid, you keep doing that if it works for you. Listen I know that this may not be the best time for this but I wanna ask you something, do you remember my sister?"

"Your sister? Her name was Lilith, right? Yeah, you talked about her"

"Well she called me and I told her about you, don't worry I didn't spill your secret, she said she wanted to meet you"

"Uh like right now?"

"If you wanted to" Eda shrugged.

Luz nodded and they went to the living room to talk. Eda made extra sure that Luz's pointy ears were hidden below the beanie before she called Lilith again.

"Eda! I was wondering what took you so long…" Lilith realized mid-rant that there was a teenager beside her sister and stopped "Uhm, hi"

"Hi! My name is Luz, Luz Noceda. Pleased to meet you" Luz flashed her a kind smile "You are Lilith, right?"

"Hi, yes I'm happy to meet you. I would've contacted you sooner but someone forgot to tell me about you" Lilith actually looked ecstatic.

"I had a lot of things going on, okay?" Eda grunted.

They started talking about how they met and the things she's been doing since she arrived. Lilith tried to tell Luz embarrassing stories about Eda's youth but she stopped once Eda threatened to do the same to her. At one point King appeared to claim his daily dose of pets from Luz.

"Wait a second. Edalyn, is she wearing your old beanie?"

"Yep, she gave it to me in my first week of staying here" Luz interrupted before she could answer.

"That brings me so many memories! I didn't know you still had it around here, if she lets you wear that it means she must like you Luz" Lilith casted a mocking glare towards Eda.

"Awww" Luz cooed at her.

"Lily, if you keep going like this I'm going to send your middle school pics to all your coworkers"

"Tell me Luz" Lilith decided to ignore her "Is Eda treating you well? I know that my sister is a good person inside but she has a… weird way of showing it"

Luz laughed at that and Eda made a mental note to prank her sister once she came back.

"I get what you mean but so far Eda treated me fairly well: She gave me food, a room, a job, and she even sent me to school! I really like it here…"

As they talked about Luz's struggle with history and Lilith promising to help her with that subject (she was a historian nerd) Eda felt really at ease. Something about all of them interacting gave her a warm feeling that she would never admit feeling to anyone.

Yeah, things were looking great.

An MCU facility in Hawaii / Saturday August 15th 7:30 AM

Lilith grabbed her coffee mug with enough strength to turn her knuckles white. She reread her notifications as she drank her brew, grunting each time a bad news appeared in front of her screen.

Things weren't looking great at all.

She thought with irony that less than twelve hours ago she was having one of the best phone calls that she ever had with her sister and her new protege. But now she was stuck with the mess her organization had created.

Right now they were faced with one of the biggest crises in their history: The calamity box had been found a couple of years prior and that resulted in an alien invasion. The train had actually transported another being from its dimension to earth, now there was a denizen with chrome skin running around somewhere. And to make things worse Gravity Falls registered another spike in their paranormal activity.

All of these cases that she could be helping with but no. According to her superiors her "workaholic tendencies" had gotten worse during the last years so they strongly suggested that she should have some vacations, they even sent a few of her teammates to make sure that she was 'having fun'.

Now after a few weeks away from her desk all hell broke loose: A rookie managed to trigger a code omega on her hometown no less and now there was a witch wreaking havoc on her city and the media was filming it, pure chaos. So now she was waiting on her plane tickets back home and expecting some explanations from her superiors.

"These damn witches, I thought Marcus had them under control" She muttered with disdain.

"If you keep griping that mug like that it's going to break" She heard a voice behind her and saw her assistant Steve holding a stack of papers.

"Please tell me that you got us plane tickets to finally get out of this mosquito-infested place"

"Yeah, about that" Steve's expression became sour "They said that since there's already two high executives working in the area it would be unwise to send you there. They told me, and I quote 'To sit back and enjoys the rest of your vacations, we've got this'"

"WHAT! They can't do that! Gravesfield and Connecticut are my designated areas! And I've been waiting decades for a development in the boiling isles!" She grabbed Steve's jacket and started to shake him.

"You gave that area to Markus because he needed a place to train his rookies, remember? And you are not the highest authority regarding the boiling isles"

*hmph*"We'll see about that, who is in charge there?"

"Marcus with Kikimora as his second in command, Also could you let go of my jacket?"

"That snake Kikimora, of course she would attempt to steal my position when I'm unavailable, I bet that she only cares about the glory that would come with solving this case" She let go of steve and started pacing around

"What about Marcus, wasn't he your mentor?"

"Yes, he was… But that man isn't the same, he has lost his touch. For what I've read his inaction is what caused this mess" She turned back at her assistant with a determined look on her eyes "call the headquarters, if they think they can keep me on this island they thought wrong"

"Yes ma'am!"

"These darn witches! They ruin everything, I'll make sure they'll regret coming to this dimension"

I did not turn Luz straight, in case some people actually believe that.

That scene with Luz watching videos to help her with her history exam came up to me when I was watching oversimplified (look them up in youtube, the summarize historic events with cartoons and it is pretty hilarious) and I thought that if they put those educational channels in schools the history teachers would have nothing to teach. Seriously, I've learned more from watching videos on youtube than I have in a decade in my school.

Again I'm sorry for the slow update, life has been shit to me this past month. I seriously can't wait for s3 and I'm still sobbing about the cut.

Actually I have a theory about that: I think that King's tide was supposed to be the mid-season finale for s3, leaving everything that's going to happen in the tv specials as s3b. I think that the original plan of s2b was to focus more on the covenheads and the two rebellions (The CATTs and hexside) Idk, what do you think?
