Sort of an alternate version of Newsies. It's from Crutchie's perspective, only this time, Crutchie is a newsgirl. She goes through the strike, the Refuge, all the events of the musical. But because she is a girl, events are a bit different. The message is also a bit more disability-inclusive, as it's written by a disabled author.

The day he ran away was the day that changed his life. Though, he didn't see it that way until years later. In fact he was just doing what any other runaway would at the age of seven. Survive. He did what he had to do to survive, even if he didn't know the what it took to be a newsie. The moment she walked into his life, however gave him the push he needed. (one shot)

Jack still wakes up from terrible nightmares- nightmares in which Katherine leaves him. But she needs him to know that she’s not going anywhere.

Ever think about all the shenanigans the early-20s newsies would get up to if they all lived in small groups in small apartments? What drama, what decisions, what family moments would happen? The newsies followed Jack through thick and thin and through a strike. How long will they follow him? Will this ragtag gang of ragamuffins who calls themselves a family ever be able to become a real family? How will their pasts affect their present and their futures?

Jack's back. He's back! But that doesn't mean that his and Katherine's life together will always be easy. Though the tides may change constantly, their love for each other certainly won't. Johnathan McCann has been in the Refuge ever since he can remember. The kids there have dubbed him Letters because he's the one that delivers the kids' letters. But what they don't know is that Johnathan actually works for Snyder, giving him information. When a certain crip who is friends with his #1 enemy Jack Kelly gets dragged in, Johnathan finds himself questioning everything.

When Marley Burke is found robbing a food truck at 12, Snyder gets her like the rest. Sitting in the crummy Refuge for 5 years she meets Jack Kelly, soon to be partner in escape. When Theodore Roosevelt gives them the ride of luck back to Manhattan, NY; Marley starts living large with the Newsies of New York. From street fighting rat to paper girl, Marley is getting respect.

Jack decides to sing a special song for his and Katherine’s twentieth Valentine’s Day together. Even if she doesn’t like to wake up early, she’ll get over it once Jack begins to sing. Modern AU. I do not own the song- those rights belong to the CW show “The Flash”.

Stormy days will never be the same for the boys at the Lodging House

Crutchie has been captured at Newsies Square, but the Spider has another plan in mind: Use Crutchie and Katherine against Jack to force him to turn himself in and trade his freedom for theirs. Going back means a world of pain and finding the strength to protect not only himself, but all the others from Snyder's abuse. Jack also comes from a darker past than anyone ever imagined.

Jack is plagued with nightmares and guilt from his past. A heart-to-heart with Crutchie leads to an even more meaningful heart-to-heart with Katherine.

What better way to relax at the end of the day with a bit of karaoke? Seems like a good idea to the newsies. The night is filled with laughs, jokes and of course, lots of music. But what happens when two girls step up on the stage? As different as they may be, one song in particular seems to explain both their love lives just a little too well (one shot) modern AU)

Jack has been fleeing from things his entire life- the death of his parents, various orphanages, Snyder, and the Refuge. Sometimes he wants to just throw in the towel and give up. However, running certainly has saved his life more than once. Maybe there’s a balance to running and staying put. (A prequel to Hello, Beautiful).
