Set in and after the events of the "Last Guardian". What happens when another human finds the people, and starts to work with the LEP? What will Holly do when the said human vanishes from her life out of nowhere? And what will happen when his past friends and enemies start to catch up to him as well? Will he be able to keep the one elf he loves safe from his misdeeds?

One night, Artemis is attacked by a creature and is found unconscious the next morning. After he wakes up, he finds out that he is a vampire, and requests the People's help. It also seems that Orion isn't gone, either. In fact, Artemis also gains a third personality, apart from himself and Orion. Who is this personality, and who turned Artemis into a vampire?

After the great Techno-crash that destroyed technology, Artemis Fowl returned and found a world that had magically recovered. Coincidence? He thought not. The world obviously had some underground help. Now Holly was worried about the current conundrum. Artemis being able to remove all signs of life from himself? Scary. Butler able to do the same? Covering an alternate version of Artemis's treatment, with several more personalities rooted in his Atlantis Complex. Abandoned while unfinished, but intended to be an extended character study and coverage of things ignored in the main series, like family/friend relations.
