Set after TEC. Years after Artemis's mind wipe, her past vulnerability comes back to bite Holly and the People when a mysterious poison that the People suspect was injected by Artemis attacks Holly. But why only now, after so long? And what will they do? With no cure underground, they are forced to go to Artemis for it. But what will he do, with his memories not intact?

With one science experiment gone wrong, Artemis I turns into something crazy and unexpected. Another, and his son turns with him. They try to keep it a secret, but Holly walks in on something that ends that period of secrecy. Now, they have to decide what to do with her. Kill her? Make her forget...Or maybe something else? And what are the repercussions of that decision?

It starts out as a normal morning. Well... normal for Holly Short. But with one call by Commander Kelp, her life changes, and she's sent on another mission with Artemis Fowl, Mulch Diggums, and, of course, Butler. To find someone with more magic than No. 1.
