Gonna try and keep the chapters going forward the same length as chapter 3 as a minimum. Also I almost lost this chapter since the file corrupted on my laptop but I turned off my phone data and wifi, accessed the doc and copied it all and saved it to my notes before the file was lost forever, so close call there.
Also most of this chapter is improvised I had an entire different chapter in mind but then this chapter idea formed and flowed so naturally I had to write it, it sets up stuff in the future and was fun to write.

The Maximum Hero
Chapter 4: Taste of dreams
Light rain falls over the land leaving puddles just large enough to step in on the sidewalk. It's early in the day, 7am at the latest and a light splashing noise is heard from the corner of the sidewalk and is getting louder and louder.
Izuku rounds the corner breathing steady and focused as he jogs down the path. It is July 13th and his training is going well. In the past 3 months he's managed to lose the small amount of fat he had on his body and has started the process of building up his muscles. His stamina has also increased quite a bit so he can do these morning jogs for much longer now.
His birthday is in a few days and Izuku has decided to tell his mom about the nanosuit then, he won't say everything he knows about it however, it's better she believes it's only a late quirk manifestation.
Midoriya has a solid handle on the basic nanosuit functions now and can feel the suit grow more capable as his body develops, acting as a progress meter of sorts. His growth feels a bit too rapid for some reason, almost like he is being given performance enhancers but without any negative side-effects.
Not everything is good though, his school life has worsened, after Kacchan got saved by All Might in that villain encounter his ego took a massive blow.
It's like he is quicker to anger and attacking others in an effort to repair that broken ego. Izuku finds that it takes more and more effort to get out of bed in the morning on a school day, but maybe once he reveals his 'quirk' things will calm down.
Izuku makes it back to his apartment after completing his morning run so he can take a shower then change into his school uniform. His mom is awake by now and greets him at the door, "Izuku did you have a good run this morning? Did the rain bother you ?".
"Yeah mom it was fine the rain wasn't very heavy so it didn't really bother me." Izuku answers as he removes his shoes and hangs his raincoat by the door. "It did get my shoes a bit wet but other than that I didn't notice it".
Inko walks to the kitchen to prepare breakfast for both of them, "I'll make sure to dry them for you while you shower then".
"Thanks mom" Midoriya sees her nod her head in response and he continues to the restroom for his shower.
After the shower Izuku is refreshed and ready so he reaches for his raincoat to leave before his mom calls out, "Izuku you forgot your backpack!".
Midoriya pats his shoulders and doesn't feel the backpack straps then turns around to grab the bag from his mothers extended arms. "Oh wow thank you mom I can't believe I almost left without it, that would've been embarrassing."
"No problem honey just be more careful next time" Inko states, "Now get going or you'll be late".
The forgetful teen finishes putting on his raincoat and leaves the apartment. On his way he practices something he learned while training at the beach, partial transformations.
It doesn't have much use, honestly it augments whatever part of his body it's active on, so if his legs are coated then he can run faster, arms give greater lifting strength, and just hands increase grip strength. It doesn't work quite as well as a full nanosuit activation but it's good practice for making summoning the suit feel more natural.
Another thing he learned is that if he focuses he can have the nanosuit only cover his skin but not his clothes, good for subtlety but it stretches whatever he is wearing unless he has baggy clothes on.
Izuku arrives at school and mentally prepares himself for whatever abuse he will face today.
Actually he should be more optimistic. Today is going to be a good day without incident. Yeah everything is going to be okay, totally okay.
— — — — — — — —
As Izuku takes in the events unfolding in front of him he can't help but think that he was dead wrong, things are not okay.
"Someone said they saw you running in the morning but you know that won't help you right, deku?" Kacchan asks as he corners Izuku. "After all, even if a quirkless nerd like you works out, anybody with a quirk is better than you BY DEFAULT!"
"I-it can't make it worse and I have to be i-in shape if I want to be her-'' Izuku isn't able to finish talking before Kacchan throws a heavy right aimed towards his side.
Izuku tries to summon the nanosuit to only his stomach area the moment before contact. He's a bit too slow and the nanosuit isn't completely summoned in time so it only absorbs part of the impact. While it doesn't hurt as much as it would have, Izuku still falls over from the force.
"Get being a hero out of your head already, how many times do we have to teach you this lesson you quirkless trash". Kacchan then leaves Midoriya to his pain, walking away with his so-called 'friends'. The green haired teen lays on the floor until he's certain that he is alone; he doesn't want to risk Kacchan seeing him get up.

It's friday so Izuku is going to head over to the beach for some training and maybe go to the bookstore again. He's kept his word and has returned to the shop a handful of times to give some company to Hirose.
He would even consider her a friend now, but he still hasn't told her of his quirklessness, not that it'll matter since he is going to reveal the nanosuit as his "quirk" soon.
Before going to the beach the young teen changes into some more comfortable workout clothes in the restroom. Once changed Izuku lightly jogs in the direction of the beach. It's a Friday so he doesn't have to rush to get home in time to finish homework before school.
Once at the beach Izuku runs through his normal routine, he does some basic lifting, benching, curling etc, muscle building activities. The beach is noticeably more clean than before with much of the smaller easily transferable trash being removed, and some of the larger things being organized and neatly placed.
After about an hour of working out Midoriya dons the nanosuit and runs the same exercises again plus some movement training. Said movement training boils down to running around and navigating the beach and around any debris as smoothly as he can.
Something interesting Midoriya learned is that if he trains with the nanosuit after his basic muscle training he won't be sore for nearly as long as he would if he trained with the suit first. It's almost like the suit has a way of reducing his soreness and recovery time.
Izuku wonders if the suit is healing him, it would make sense because working out basically tears your muscles and forces them to grow stronger.
The suit decreasing the time it takes for muscles to heal would then in turn make his progress faster. This could be the reason that he is gaining strength rapidly.
Training goes by without any interruptions and Izuku puts on some deodorant before making his way to the bookstore. It's been a few weeks since his last visit and he hasn't picked up his hero monthly yet so it's as good a reason as any to drop by. He finds himself looking forward to going and having a nice conversation.
Talking to Hirose is easy, she's the first person other than his mom to talk to him normally and not bring up quirks. She has never asked him what his quirk is or mentioned hers. Izuku sees her as a friend and he hopes it will stay that way.
Midoriya arrives at the shop with a cool down jog and takes a swing of water before entering. Once inside he is happily greeted, "Hey Midoriya how's it going? It's been a while and I was starting to think you'd forgotten about me"
"W-What? I would never, sorry I guess I just lost track of time my-my bad" Midoriya apologies to Hirose in a nervous tone.
Hirose laughs before speaking again, "It's fine I trust you, anyway we have the recent Hero monthly over in the back if you are interested".
"Thank you I'll be sure to check that out then", Izuku thanks before moving, " And I really am sorry for not coming by sooner"
"Thanks and talk to you in a sec"
Greeting exchanged he makes his way over to the hero shelf to get his monthly fix of hero news and exclusives. Honestly there isn't much he doesn't already know but it's nice to own physical copies.
Izuku's mind wanders as he browses the entire selection of hero related literature. He thinks about the future of his own hero career, the very beginning in particular scares him, not Yuuei, before even that.
How would he tell his mother about the nanosuit? By now he's considered telling her by pure demonstration, but that would likely frighten her, the nanosuit is a bit intimidating after all.
Another option is telling her during his birthday dinner, that's his most promising option so far but the situation is too scary to imagine.
The final option that he for sure isn't going to do is tell her by text or video, while the least frightening of the options is also the most cowardly, hence him likely not doing it.
The difficult part of any of the options is explaining how he got this "Quirk", a question he doesn't even know the answer to, a late-bloomer quirk is rare to begin with, and at his age it is almost unheard of. Then he would have to tell her how he learned about its existence, he can't tell her that he jumped off the school roof for sure.
The idea he has so far is an… edited version of the truth, he'd say he tripped off a step down the stairs at school and before he started the brutal descent the nanosuit activated and protected him from the continuous drop down the stairs.
It isn't a complete lie he did technically fall at school after all, and the suit did activate after said fall. It's just a retelling of the story that won't leave his mother in tears and increased guilt, the lesser of two evils so to speak.
He wishes his mom could just magically learn of the nanosuit and not question it, he wishes he gained this quirk when all the other kids got theirs, he wishes he could easily explain everything. He wishes for a lot of things but they almost never come true.
Shaking his head Izuku focuses his vision back to the shelf to find the Hero Monthly when the entrance door rings open.
This surprises Izuku, he hasn't had anyone else be in the shop with him other than Hirose before but it is a bookstore so he can't complain. He turns to get a look of the newcomer but from his position behind the shelf his line of sight is completely obstructed, he doubts they can see him either, no big deal.
"Hello and welcome to Kat's books & knick-knacks if you-you-you" Izuku tilts his head in mild confusion. He hasn't heard Hirose stutter before so this was unexpected, probably just a slip of the tongue. Izuku again looks at the hero shelf selection before a male voice speaks with a hint of steel.
"Ok hon this can end easily or this can end with you bleeding out on the ground, trust me you wouldn't be the first person I've shot today." The voice is steady, without fear and the click of a revolver hammer pierces the air of the quiet bookstore. "I've been watching this store for the past 2 weeks and not many people enter on school days, and NONE ever come in at this time of day". A step forward is heard " I want your phone, your earbuds, any jewelry you have on, all the money in the register and all the money on your person, if its on a card I want the pin and make it
Fear for Hirose fills Izuku's mind, he has to save her, but how. Thankfully the villain doesn't appear to know he is here, his position is covering him. There is a large chance this villain shoots her after she fulfills his demands so he can't just charge and tackle the gunman, he could get shot if he is too loud or she can get shot if the gunman fires from the impact of the tackle.
Izuku peeks from behind the shelf and observes the situation, the gunman is average adult height, wearing a jacket and has his hand near his body with the gun pointed at Hirose.
Hirose is shaking as she places her phone and earrings on the table before her. Her face is white from fear and her eyes are watery as she fights tears, one look is all it takes for Izuku to stop standing around and act.
NANOSUIT ENABLED
Izuku moves to the gunman discreetly and low to the ground to avoid detection. Before anything he has to get rid of the gun aimed at his friend. The nanosuit agrees and text appears on the right side of his vision.
Mission: Save Yasuho Hirose
Tactical option: Armor mode body block
That's useful, armor mode could stop the bullet without injury if it's strong enough. Midoriya is now crouched behind the man and Hirose's eyes uncloud and stare at him, causing the thief to question her.
"What are you looking at? Hurry up and get the money." the thief unconsciously loosens his grip on the revolver and motions his body to do a quick turn around. This creates the perfect opening for Midoriya to attack since the gun is no longer pointed at Hirose.
MAXIMUM ARMOR
Izuku quickly rises and begins his assault as the man shouts out in confusion. "AH WHAT THE FU-"
BANG
But the bullet never leaves the gun because Izuku's nano-coated palm is blocking the barrel.
Before the villain can gather himself Izuku throws a heavy suit assisted punch aimed directly for his liver as he violently pulls the revolver out of the man's grip and tosses it away. The man screams in anguish and slumps to the ground, unconscious.
"Are you ok Hirose?" Midoriya gently asks the frightened girl, "Did he hurt you?."
"W-W-who a-are you?" Hirose nervously asks, "D-Dont hurt me p-p-please."
The nanosuit feels so natural that Izuku had forgotten he had it on. Instead of unsummoning the armor Izuku simply presses the buttons on the side of his head so the mask and visor will retract and his face will be visible. "It's me Hirose, it's Izuku. I'm sorry for frightening you but I had to act or he could have shot you".
"I-Izuku? Oh my god that was so scary I thought he was going to shoot me once I gave him the money. Thank you so so so much for saving me" Hirose begins to stop shaking and her breathing steadies but she is still visibly shocked from the entire experience.
"Hirose I need you to focus and call the police to come for this guy, is there anything to tie him up with? I don't know how long he will stay knocked out." Izuku looks back at the fallen thief and sees him gently breathing, hopefully he stays that way until the authorities arrive but he has to tie him for safety.
Hirose blinks a few times before reaching for her phone to make the call, "There's some ribbon in the back that's thick enough to tie him without tearing, i'll go and get it".
Midoriya nods and waits for her to return, never letting his eyes stray from the criminal.
A tense few minutes pass as Hirose looks for the ribbons and dials the police, she returns and hands Izuku the ribbons as the cops answer the phone.
"Hello? There's been an attempted armed robbery here in Kats Books and knick-knacks in Dagobah district", a female operator responds but Izuku can't hear the words, "No the villain is currently unconscious and tied with his gun secured", some more questions are asked, "No his quirk is unknown he only used the gun for the robbery, OK thank you." The phone call ends.
Midoriya finishes tying the ribbon around the criminal, having used as much as he could to ensure no tearing. Now all that's left to do is wait for the police to arrive, he should ask how long that'll take.
"How long did the cops say they would take to arrive?" Midoriya questions
"They said 5 to 15 minutes depending on the distance of the nearest patrolling officer," Hirose says, having finally calmed down sitting by the front desk. "Thank you again for saving me. I could barely even move and you did all that" she repeats this time in a more genuine non-panicked voice.
"How could I not save you? I was scared but the look in your eyes… How could I ignore that?" Izuku speaks but never moves from his location near the villain.
"Still it must've been scary, he had a gun and you could have been shot", Hirose states with a shudder.
"You could've been shot too", the nanosuit host whispers.
The silence is heavy in the bookstore and some time passes before either of the teens break said silence. "So that's your quirk huh? Funny I didn't think you actually had one." The young girl casually mentions.
Midoriya's eyes widen in surprise, "If you didn't think I had a quirk then….why are you so nice to me and why did you assume that?"
"Well most people are so obsessed with quirks that they usually introduce themselves with their name and quirk and you didn't do that, then you never brought it up after that either." Hirose takes a breath before continuing, "And why wouldn't I be nice to you? You seem like a nice guy and people care too much about quirks anyway, so yeah i'm a bit surprised you had one after all".
Izuku strangely feels his eyes begin to water and shuts the nanosuits mask so hid his face, " Thank you and well, you're not wrong, well not totally wrong." Izuku hesitates a moment, "I was quirkless for the longest time until recently I had my quirk activate, you are the first person that's seen my quirk actually, I haven't even told my mom yet, I was going to wait until my birthday to tell her."
A siren is heard nearby,"Sounds like the police are here Midoryia".
"You go talk to them and bring them in, I'll stay here in case this guy wakes up." Izuku then unsummons the nanosuit to avoid any confusion.
A policeman with an orange cat face walks in after a brief discussion with Hirose and begins to ask for details from Midoriya.
"So you are the boy that defeated this Villian? My name is Sansa Tamakawa. Can you tell me in your words what happened here?" Another officer goes over to the thief and handcuffs him, then lifts him to take him to the back of one of the two police vehicles.
"Well I was here to pick up a magazine and talk to Hirose a bit, I went to the shelf back there to find the magazine and while I was looking for it I heard the door open, I ignored it at first since I assumed it was another customer but then I heard Hirose's scared voice and the villain threaten to shoot her with click of a revolver hammer" Izuku explains and looks away, nervous to continue.
The officers face is scrunched in understanding, "Its okay, you are doing fine please finish telling me what happened"
"I peeked out from behind the shelf and I saw the villain pointing the gun at Hirose, then I saw her face and how scared she was, then before I realized it I was crouching towards the villain with my quirk active and ready." Midoriyathen realized he technically illegally used his quirk but it was to save someone so it's probably fine.
"The villain noticed Hirose staring at me so he began to turn, I then grabbed his gun barrel with one hand to block the shot, and punched him in the liver knocking him unconscious, and took the gun". Izuku finishes his story and nervously waits for the officer's response. Hirose also walks back into the shop at this point.
"That matches up with what Hirose told me but there is one issue" Sansa confirms, writing on a notepad
That can't be good.
"Since you did use your quirk illegally there are some consequences you have to face but since it was in defense of another and it's your first offense it won't be much, we just need your parents to come with us to the station and sort some stuff" Sansa finishes writing and puts away the notepad.
"That's not fair! Midoriya just wanted to save me, and he did!" Hirose shouts in anger and Izuku's defense.
"While that is true he did still break the law, but dont worry it's nothing serious.
"I guess that makes sense" grumbles Hirose in annoyance.
"Come on Midoriya I'll drive you to the station and you can call your parents" The cat faced officer says as he walks out of the shop
"I wish I could go with you Midoriya but I have to stay in the shop" Hirose apologizes, " And Izuku… You're my hero"
Izuku pauses for a moment,"Th-Thank you that… that means alot to me", Shyly mutters Izuku. "Well I have to be going, bye Hirose"
"Yasuho, you saved my life, call me Yasuho"
"O-Ok bye Yasuho"
"Bye hero"
Izuku leaves the shop and goes to Sansa's vehicle slowly, he isn't exactly eager to be in a police car, people would get the wrong idea.
Sansa gestures his hand at Izuku, "Hey kid, you can sit in the front with me, you're not exactly a criminal or villain so you don't have to sit in the back".
"T-Thats great, I was a bit nervous to sit back there honestly." Izuku opens the passenger door and takes a seat next to Sansa. "Is it a long drive to the station?" the seatbelt locks.
"No, it shouldn't take longer than 10 minutes" The car starts, "It's at the center of Musutafu" The car moves forward.
"That's good"
The next few minutes are spent quietly as Midoriya is a bundle of nerves from being in a police car. But it isn't long before the silence ends due to a curious cat asking a question, " So I know you said you moved before you realized but there had to have been something going through your head right?"
The young teen takes a moment before he answers the question, " The villain sounded so calm and serious when he threatened her, he wouldn't hesitate to shoot her and he seemed almost happy at the idea of it , it was very possible that he would shoot her anyway and I was just…standing there." Izuku takes a deep inhale before he finishes talking, " I couldn't just stand there and watch her die".
" Couldn't just stand there huh?, You know I've heard heroes say the same thing when they save people, are you trying to become one too?" They are now at the station and looking for a parking space.
"Y-Yeah I am trying to become a hero" Midoriya confirms as they find a space and pull in.
"I'm sure you will become a splendid Hero then, and you already have two fans." The officer announces with a smirk
"Two?" A confused Izuku utters.
"Yup, that Hirose girl and me, you're a good kid and while it may have been illegal you did something very heroic today." Sansa smiles and opens his door " Now let's go inside and get everything in order.
Before leaving the car Izuku wipes away the water forming in the corner of his eyes, he can't see himself ever getting used to praise.
Once inside the building they move to a small room near the center of the building. Sansa asks Izuku for his parents phone number, to which Izuku explains his mother is his only present parent and provides her number. He is almost thankful that he doesn't have to make the call.
"Hello, is this Inko Midoriya?" Sansa questions into the phone.
"Good this is Officer Sansa Tamakawa, your son Izuku Midoriya is currently with me in Mustafa station and we need you to come as soon as possible please" An alarmed voice can be overheard from the other side of the phone.
"No he isn't hurt and while he is in trouble it's not anything that will get him sent to juvenile hall"
"Ok thank you" The phone is hung up then the feline officer turns to face Midoriya , "Your mother is on her way shouldn't be too long according to her estimate, 5 minutes". A thought passes his mind, " Are you thirsty? We have water, coffee or would you like some green tea?".
"Just some water please". Izuku politely requests. Sansa then leaves the room to go retrieve a glass or bottle of water, leaving Izuku with his thoughts.
The boy is paranoid, he was planning to tell his mom soon but not at all like this. Would she be insulted that she had to find out like this, instead of telling her directly? Will she scream? Or cry? Or will she not speak to him?
He decides to take a look around the room. It isn't very big, only fitting a desk and two chairs in front of it, one of which Izuku is sitting in. There are some photos hanging on the wall, most of Sansa with other officers but there is also a photo of a large mountain range.
On the desk there is the bare minimum, just a pen, a lamp, and a name plate with "Sansa Tamakawa" printed on it.
Sansa comes back and hands Midoriya a cold water bottle before telling him that he is going to wait in the front for his mother.
The pressure in Izuku's chest grows heavier, it's strange how he was so calm while saving Hiro- Yasuho while waiting for the police, but now that he is waiting for his mother in a much safer situation he is scared. He wonders what that says about him as a person.
Summoning the nanosuit to only his left hand, Izuku fidgets with the knuckles and coarse materials while he waits for the inevitable return of Sansa with his mom.
Sure enough a few minutes later the door gently opens and Midoriya wills the nanosuit to disappear.
Instead of shouting or a disappointed stare or any of the things he expected he is instead pulled into a tight embrace in his moms arms. "Izuku when he called I couldn't believe you were in any sort of trouble but then he told me what happened when I arrived and I'm just so glad you are safe"
Izuku can't find it in him to speak but the same cannot be said about Inko, "And he said that the exact reason you are in trouble is because you used your quirk illegally against a villain? But that's impossible you don't have a quirk… We checked twice!"
The pit of shame in Izuku's chest grows"I….I was planning on telling you on my birthday during dinner" he quietly whispers.
Inko's eyes widen in surprise, "So you do have a quirk?"
Izuku gently pushes his mom to the side and stands up. He then looks at Sansa who is sitting at his desk, wordlessly asking for permission. He nods and Izuku summons the nanosuit in its entirety NANOSUIT ENABLED.
The Nanosuit warrior turns to his mother whose eyes are wide in shock, " I only learned about it recently and I wanted to understand what exactly I could do with it before I told you or got it registered" strangely his voice sounds deeper and more robotic, he hasn't spoken with the mask on before so this is the first time he hears his voice, it sounds similar to the suits activation modes.
"But- But how? We were so sure you were quirkless , why would it only show up now and not when you were younger" Inko inquires through her hand that is covering her mouth.
Izuku then removes his mask and visor so everyone could see his face and his voice could return to normal without removing the nanosuit." I really don't know, I was walking down the school stairs when I tripped, and right before I started my descent it activated and protected me from my fall."
Izuku pauses "I would like to go more into detail, but I'd like there to be a quirk doctor so I can get it registered while I do so"
"No need, if you understand enough about your quirk then I can fill out the forms instead, You just need to have a name in mind for the quirk and a basic understanding of its capabilities." Sansa helpfully informs the Midoriyas.
"In that case I guess I'll say everything I know but…mom i'm so so sorry for not telling you sooner" Izuku again has to fight tears as he says this.
Inko isn't able to stop her tears and instead wipes them away with the back of her palm,"No its ok Izuku you don't have to feel sorry, I'm more happy than anything that you are safe, the news of a quirk manifestation is just a plus, now please tell us more."
"T-Thank you mom and um my quirk operates through mental commands, it appears to be semi-sentient that way and it refers to itself as The Nanosuit so I guess that'll be its name." Izuku begins. " And when I have it on, my speed, strength, and reflexes are doubled at a low ball. The visor that covers my eyes shows me the time, a map of the area, has a compass, and occasionally will have pop-ups appear, oh it can also connect to the internet."
"It can…connect to the internet?" Sansa repeats
Izuku bashfully looks away, "Yeah I don't really understand how it works either this is all confusing. Ahem . Then there are 3 modes that I can choose from that each increase a specific attribute , those modes are speed, strength, and armor. These modes require energy however and the energy available is shown in the form of a bar in my vision. Speed mode can triple my base speed for a short while, strength drastically increases my strength but I don't know by how much exactly, then armor can protect me from blunt force trauma and as I recently found out, gunshots at point blank range. Oh and each mode gives me a light hue shade of yellow, red, and blue respectfully".
Sansa takes a moment to write all of this information down, " That is quite a lot of information, almost doesn't even feel like a single quirk, it appears to be multiple."
Izuku decides to share his own current theory for how some of the functions work as they do, "I notice that when I summon the nanosuit it looks like grains of sand that stabilize into this current form. I believe that the sand is not in fact sand but are instead nanites that combine to grant me the abilities I can use, that would mean my quirk is really the nanites and not the modes that the suit has available, It would be like how someone with a fire quirk can also have an increased immunity to heat, and control their own internal temperature, as that is one quirk that can act as three."
"So that would make your quirk nanites and not nanosuit then" Sansa questions
"Well yes but um could you keep the name as nanosuit? I personally like that name for my quirk more." the young boy timidly requests as he unsummons the nanosuit.
"Sure I can, but I have to make sure the name isn't already taken, but if it's free your quirk will be called nanosuit." The feline assures, "Okay then if that's everything I will run this through the system later and contact you on your cell phone once everything is completed.
"Ok now onto legal matters" But before he can continue the door is opened by some random person.
The intruder is a sickly thin, tall man with large blonde bushy hair and two large hair bangs covering his face. Once he notices all the people in the room he coughs what seems to be blood into his handkerchief . "My apologies. I was under the impression that this was Detective Tsukauchi's office".
"It's okay, this used to be his office after all, he's on the 2nd story now 3rd building on the left if you take the elevator."
"Thank you, again apologies for interrupting" The strange man closes the door leaving them to continue discussing legal matters.
"As I was saying you did illegally use your quirk to knock a man unconscious even if it was a villain and done in an effort to save someone." The cat cop opens a drawer in his desk, rummaging around for something. "But since the villain was using his quirk and armed with an illegal firearm with a history of murders, along with the fact there was no serious bodily harm and this being your first offense you will have any vigilante charges dropped as long as you cooperate with us."
Izuku immediately agrees but asks a question, " Of course I will cooperate, but I do have a question." He then leans forward unable to hide his genuine interest, "You just said the villain was using his quirk but I don't remember ever seeing him activate it"
"Oh yes, you wouldn't have been able to notice it from your standing, you see his quirk is an emitter type that can cause someone in his range to completely ignore a given closed off area, he would use his quirk in small shops so people would ignore the shop entirely, however the quirk can only affect up to 2 people at a time for 5-10 minutes so he would wait until moments where the stores weren't busy so his quirk would remain effective." Sansa finds the paper he was looking for in the drawer and places it on his desk facing Izuku.
Midoryia doesn't notice the paper as he ponders the potential applications of this quirk. He realizes that if he hadn't chosen to visit the bookstore today the villain would've gotten away with his crime and very possibly have killed Yasuho. He hadn't spent too much time on the subject but he really did save her life. Like a …..hero
"Anyway as I was saying if you cooperate the charges will be dropped, it's quite simple as well you just have to attend an 2 hour course on proper quirk use in public" The officer points at the paper, " I just need your signature as well as your mothers since you are a minor"
Izuku figures this is a pretty good deal, just one class and no vigilante charges, sounds like a good deal- wait a minute, " Will any of this appear on my permanent record? Will it hurt my chances of being accepted into Yuuei?"
Sansa's chuckles lightly as if he took some form of amusement from Izuku's concern, " Don't worry yourself none of this will affect your hero career, the most anyone would be able to see is that you were in a robbery in a police report but not why or your exact involvement."
Izuku sighs in relief , "thank goodness"
Inko voices her questions at this point as well, "When is this class exactly?"
Sansa hands her a paper as he explains the timing,"They are at 1pm every other Saturday so you can go tomorrow or in two weeks but I need to know now so I can add you to the attendance list."
Izuku doesn't think he's ready to go to the meeting so soon, he needs time to process everything and he won't be ready to face the consequences so soon. "Can I go to the one in two weeks? I dont think I'm ready to do it tomorrow if that's alright".
The officer hands Izuku a pen,"That's fine just you sign here and your mom directly underneath".
The Midoriyas both sign the paper then hand it back to Sansa who grabs it and places it in a folder before moving it aside. " The meeting is held here by the way, just tell the person at the front desk that you are here for the quirk use in public meeting and you will be directed to the meeting room, you both can go home now unless you have something you'd like to say or ask."
Inko stands up and opens the door, "No we understand thank you and have a nice day, lets go Izuku."
Izuku follows his mom outside the police station to their car. Even if she said she wasn't upset he was still paranoid that she was holding on to some anger.
The drive home is quiet with neither of them speaking to each other, it isn't long until they reach their apartment.
Inko opens the door to the hotel and Izuku believes he is in the clear as he walks to his room.
"Izuku honey…. I know you said you didn't tell me because you wanted to learn how to use your quirk before telling anyone but I-I am so so sorry for making you so fearful of my reaction that you felt it was best to wait instead of telling me immediately." Inko covers her face as tears flow freely from her eyes.
Izuku goes to give his mom a hug, he didn't think she'd blame herself to such a degree, "Mom don't be sorry it isn't your fault, I was just so amazed that I had a quirk, I was in disbelief that such a think could be true, I was afraid that once I told someone it would disappear and I would go back to being quirkless, so don't blame yourself, please."
The Midoriyas stand there a moment holding each other, neither of them really wants to let go. When the embrace does end they both go to their respective rooms.
Izuku closes his door and collapses on his bed. All he had to do was attend a meeting? That isn't so bad. If that's the price of saving a life he would pay it every single time. He remembers how Yasuho called him a hero and how it made him feel better than he could imagine a single word could.
It feels like he just had a taste of the hero dream and he is looking forward to more. Well in two weeks then he has to face the music but until then he was content to bask in the afterglow of the events of today.

Another chapter is done and I hope you all enjoyed it. The next chapter is the meeting and some new encounters. See you next time. And Izuku and Yasuho won't ever date though Yasuho might have a small crush on Izuku now. She's just a character I made to further the plot and maybe be a reoccurring side character.
